Al-Qaeda leader in Libya detained in Turkey and transferred to US authorities
Al-Qaeda leader in Libya detained in Turkey suspected of involvement in Amb.Chris Stevens murder in Benghazi.(HD).
Abd al-Baset Azzouz, the leader of al-Qaeda in Libya, was reportedly detained last month in western Turkey after he entered with a fake passport. Azzouz has been renditioned to the US on suspicion of involvement in the murder of US Ambassador Chris Stevens in 2012.
Azzouz, 48, was named as an “al-Qaeda operative and trainer skilled in bomb-making” by the U.S. State Department and listed on the U.S. list of 10 most dangerous global terrorists.Read the full story here.
