China declares it won missile defence tender in 'Sometimes NATO Ally' Turkey.(BU).

Speaking at the 13th Langkawi International Maritime and Air Fair a representative fromthe China Precision Machinery Import and Export Corporation CPMIEC stated that China had won the tender for Turkey’s air-missile defence system, with its HQ-9 FD-2000 production.

Recently, Turkey had disclosed it would seek European and US bidders over delays, stating that the CPMIEC failed to meet requirements after securing the tender in 2013 for a USD 3.4 billion deal.

Turkey’s selection of China had caused controversy with US and Western concerns over security and compatibility with NATO systems.

With the contract, Turkey will be getting four systems of the FD-2000 missile defense system from the Chinese company. Hmmm.....Who needs enemies with such 'allies'?
