Pastors to Obama: "You've broken our hearts - MLK would oppose gay marriage"

Pastors to Obama: "You've broken our hearts - MLK would oppose gay marriage".(WE).The Coalition of African American Pastors wrote Attorney General Eric Holder and President Obama to request a meeting with the president, as they argued that he is wrong to support gay marriage.
"Let us speak with you and President Barack Obama about the issue of same sex marriage," the Rev. William Owens, founder of CAAP, said in the letter. "If President Obama changed his mind, let him consider changing it again."
Owens added that "President Obama is the fulfillment of our dreams for our sons--and he has broken our hearts by using his power and position to endorse as a civil right something that is simply wrong."

He argued that Martin Luther King would oppose gay marriage. Here is the quotation from King's Letter from Birmingham Jail that Owens cited, in which King denounced Jim Crow laws and articulated his understanding of civil rights:
How does one determine whether a law is just or unjust? A just law is a man made
code that squares with the moral law or the law of God. An unjust law is a code that is out of harmony with the moral law. To put it in the terms of St. Thomas Aquinas: An unjust law is a human law that is not rooted in eternal law and natural law.
Owens asked Holder and Obama to show "residual respect" for the black pastors who supported King and now oppose gay marriage by meeting with CAAP officials.
Gay marriage is broadly-opposed in the black community, which Democrats rely upon in every election to support their party overwhelmingly. "If black voter participation can be diminished even by ten percent it will make that critical difference all across the country," Rep. G.K. Butterfield, D-N.C., told a group of black pastors earlier this week.Hmmm...."And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse" ~ Genesis 12:3.Read the full story here.

Women Voters Fleeing Obama for Romney, despite, or because of, Obama’s favoring gay marriages

Women Voters Fleeing Obama for Romney, despite, or because of, Obama’s favoring gay marriages.(INN).A startling turnaround in pre-election polls show President Barack Obama losing the women’s vote to Mitt Romney despite, or because of, Obama’s favoring gay marriages. A CBS/New York Times poll gives Romney, the unofficial but de facto Republic candidate, a 46 to 44 per cent lead among women’s voters, a dramatic eight-point turnaround from a month ago. Romney’s new strength among women follow Democratic party charges that the Republican party has declared a “war on women.” The same poll also revealed that two-thirds of the respondents think President Obama’s announcement that he supports gay marriage was made “mostly for political reasons,” while only 24 percent believe the president took his stand on principle.President Obama has hedged his bets, declining to say if he would urge the repeal of a 1996 law that defines a legal marriage as the union of a man and a woman. He offered his opinion that the law is not constitutional.Conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh accused mainstream media of burying the results of the poll on women voters. “For some reason, neither The New York Times nor CBS News seems to have noticed, the breakdown of the women's vote in their poll. They're not reporting it. They're burying it. I haven't seen it mentioned. Not even over at PMSNBC [MSNBC] are they talking about this. “They're not interested in how Obama's faring with women, it just isn't newsworthy anymore because he's losing…. And these people live and die by these polls.... They use these polls to influence public opinion, not reflect it, and that means that all this is a double whammy. “For two months or longer now – time is flying by – this War on Women was designed to get every woman in America hating Republicans and hating Romney, loving Obama. Obama is the guy who's gonna protect their birth control pills, gonna protect their right to abortion, gonna protect them against these predatory men, which is every man…. “And then they go out and do a poll to see how successfully they have shaped opinion, they find out they failed. So it makes sense that they don't report it.”Read the full story here.

"Forward" - Report says 230,000 unemployed losing benefits over weekend.

"Forward" - Report says 230,000 unemployed losing benefits over weekend.(TheHill).More than 230,000 unemployed workers will lose their jobless benefits this weekend as portions of federal programs expire across several states.
All told, 409,300 long-term unemployed Americans in 27 states will have lost upward of 20 weeks of federal unemployment benefits by this past Saturday, even as the many state jobless rates remain high, according to a new analysis by the National Employment Law Project (NELP).The latest batch of cuts affects 236,300 unemployed people in eight states — California (11%), Texas (7%) Pennsylvania (7.5%), Florida (9%), Illinois (8.8%) North Carolina (9.7%) Colorado (7.8%) and Connecticut (7.7%) — half of which have jobless rates above the 8.1 percent national average posted in April.

"A growing number of long-term unemployed workers are being left behind," said Christine Owens, executive director of the NELP.
"Job openings are not taking the place of these cuts,” Owens said.Hmmm.......Reality shows that only 44 % of the total U.S. population works.Read the full story here.

It seems American Muslims are rejecting Obama's "Gay Marriage" approval.

It seems American Muslims are rejecting Obama's "Gay Marriage" approval.(TMO)."Islam and Muslims: Same Sex Marriages".By Aslam Abdullah, TMO Editor-in-Chief.Physical intimacy is not simply a biological action and reaction. It is bigger than that. It is more about the value system that one prefers and adopts because it impacts not only the individual, family and the society but human civilizations, cultures as well as the rise and fall of nations.
On the one hand are Freudian followers who argue that civilization is a byproduct of repressed sexuality and on the other hand are those who in the words of J. D. Unwin believe that “in human records there is no instance of a society retaining its energy after a complete new generation has inherited a tradition which does not insist on per-nuptial and post-nuptial continence.” This "de-moralization" of sex is promoting a new sexual ethics that legitimizes and justifies everything in the name of pleasure and freedom. What was presented as his personal opinion by President Obama about same sex marriage is an effort to legitimize the de-moralization of sex to develop a new culture where every sexual activity is fine as long as individuals engaged in the act have their consent and pleasure. His perspective is based on a world view, a world view that Islam does not share.
Islam regards physical intimacy as an act of responsibility between a man and woman within the confines of contractual marriage. Islam, on the basis of its value system, takes a strong stand on pre-marital, and post-marital physical relations as well as on physical relations between people of the same gender. Islam calls for sexual discipline in society and recommends restrictions in sexual behavior to help people channel their energy in matters that are fundamental in preserving the interests of people. However, Islam does recognize the rights of people to reject this world view and acknowledges the freedom of people to adopt an alternative perspective, with the admonition that people are responsible for the consequences of their actions in the eyes of God. Marriage is an institution promoted and protected by all religions. Islam recognizes it as part of the revealed knowledge, a knowledge that is given by the Divine to help human beings find their way to a better life in this as well as in the hereafter. Obviously, those who do not believe in the idea of Divine revelation would find it hard to accept this notion.
But this is what Islam expects its adherents to accept. Accepting an alternative definition of marriage is like changing the revelation and the divine guidance, an act that is not supported by Islam. Obviously, Obama and those who want to demoralize sexuality and promote the idea of extending the term “marriage” to same sex unions would not find support among the followers of Islam, because Muslims would view it a challenge to their own value system.
We Muslims owe it to ourselves and our future generation an education that promotes the value system that we deem right for ourselves and others. We must speak out on this important issue to let the people know what we stand for. Our political pundits have already presented the Obama perspective as an electoral and political issue. It is much more than that. It is about the value system that we adopt as our guiding principle. It is our right to share our value system with others without being intimidated and trying to be politically correct. If others have a right to promote their ideas based on Freudian ideas, we Muslims also have the right to present our perspectives based on revealed knowledge.Hmmmm........The 'outreach to Muslims' just reached a gender too far.Read the full story here.

UN Says Mount Rushmore Is “Sacred Land” That Must Be Returned To Native Americans

How to obtain the Native American votes - Leading from Behind  'Obama style'

UN Says Mount Rushmore Is “Sacred Land” That Must Be Returned To Native Americans.(DailyMail).A UN human rights official is urging the U.S. to turn over control of lands considered to be sacred to Native Americans, including the site of the Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
James Anaya, the UN special rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples, unveiled his recommendations in Geneva on Friday after completing a 12-day visit to the U.S. where he met with representatives of indigenous peoples in six states.
The fact-finder also had a chance to meet members of the Obama administration and briefed the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, but no member of Congress agreed to meet with him.
‘I have heard stories that make evident the profound hurt that indigenous peoples continue to feel because of the history of oppression they have faced,’ Mr Anaya said in a statement.
For over a century, he said, the government had seized lands and resources from Native Americans, removed children from their families and communities, caused the loss of languages, broke treaties with tribes and oppressed the indigenous peoples on the grounds of racial discrimination.Hmmmm....This is now the third time in a month they run this story in different papers,  by now every Native American knows he need to vote for Obama.Read the full story here.

"Ah ! ça ira - Yes We Can", Obama invites Hollande to White House.

"Ah ! ça ira - Yes We Can", Obama invites Hollande to White House.(Yahoo).President Barack Obama congratulated French president-elect Francois Hollande for his victory Sunday, but warned of "challenges" ahead, a clear reference to Afghanistan and eurozone debt crisis. The US president was among the first world leaders to welcome Hollande's election as France's first Socialist president in nearly two decades, a result sure to have major implications for Europe as it struggles to emerge from a financial crisis. Obama invited Hollande for bilateral talks at the White House later this month ahead of a G8 leaders meeting he will host at his Camp David retreat in Maryland between May 18-19, and a NATO transatlantic alliance summit in Chicago on May 20-21. In a telephone call, Obama "indicated that he looks forward to working closely with Mr Hollande and his government on a range of shared economic and security challenges," White House spokesman Jay Carney said in a statement.
Among the thorny issues the two leaders will have to address is the eurozone debt crisis, which Washington sees as a threat to its still-halting recovery after a grueling recession. Unemployment, which stood at five percent in early 2008, is now at 8.1 percent -- high for the United States. Hollande says he wants to renegotiate the European Union's fiscal pact in order to complement its austerity rules with more targeted investment in jobs and growth. His position stands in sharp contrast to that of Germany's Angela Merkel, the arch-defender of the austerity rules and deficit-cutting targets embedded in the fiscal pact. But it echoes Obama's support for both growth and economic stability in Europe. "If Europe is growing, then that benefits the US economy as well," Obama said in February. At the NATO summit, leaders are due to discuss NATO's carefully crafted plan to hand security control to Afghans by 2014. Hollande has pledged to start bringing 3,300 French soldiers home this year, ending his country's combat role two years earlier than NATO. He now has to work hard to reassure allies in the transatlantic military alliance that his plan will not upend the war strategy. The early French pull-out challenges NATO assurances that there would be no "rush to the exit" in Afghanistan, even though the war is unpopular in the West after a decade of fighting that has killed almost 3,000 foreign troops and has yet to defeat the Taliban despite the presence of 130,000 foreign troops. During their conversation, Obama and Hollande "each reaffirmed the important and enduring alliance between the people of the United States and France," the White House said. But the statement did not mention outgoing French President Nicolas Sarkozy, with whom Obama has had warm ties during the more than three years they were both in office.Read the full story here.

U.S. Population - less than 50% of the total population works.

U.S. Population - less than 50% of the total population works.(TECB).The unemployment crisis in America is much worse than you are being told. Did you know that there are 100 million working age Americans that do not get up in the morning and go to work? No wonder why it seems like there are so many people that do not have jobs!
According to the federal government, there are 12.6 million working age Americans that are considered to be "officially" unemployed, but there are another 87.8 million working age Americans that are not working either. The federal government considers those Americans to be "not in the labor force" so they are not included in the unemployment rate. In fact, this is one of the key ways that the government manipulates the unemployment numbers. The Obama administration would have us believe that the unemployment rate is going down and that that since the start of the last recession about as many Americans have left the labor force as we saw during the entire decades of the 1980s and 1990s combined. Of course that is a bunch of nonsense, but that is what the Obama administration would have us believe. The truth is that the percentage of working age Americans that are employed is just about the same right now as it was two years ago. It was incredibly difficult to get a job back then and it is incredibly difficult to get a job right now.
So don't believe the hype that things are getting much better. If you still do have a good job, you might want to hold on to it tightly, because there is not much hope that things are going to improve significantly any time soon. The first chart that I have posted below shows the total number of "officially" unemployed workers in America. According to the Federal Reserve, that number is currently 12,673,000. This chart makes it look like the employment picture in America is getting significantly better.... But if you dig deeper into the numbers you quickly see that this is not true. A lot of those workers that were formerly classified as "unemployed" have now been moved into the "not in labor force" category. Since the start of the last recession, the number of Americans not in the labor force has risen by more than 8 million according to the Obama administration. The total number of working age Americans not in the labor force now stands at 87,897,000.... So when you add 12,673,000 and 87,897,000, you get a total of 100,570,000 working age Americans that do not have jobs.
When Barack Obama tells you that "America is going back to work" he is lying to you.
The cold, hard reality of the matter is that there are millions of hard working Americans that have been sitting at home for years hoping that a new job will come along.
Back in 2007, approximately 10 percent of all unemployed Americans had been out of work for one year or longer.
Today, that figure is above 30 percent.
The average duration of unemployment in the United States today is about three times as long as it was back in the year 2000.
And according to a recent Wall Street Journal article, the number of announced job cuts is actually rising again....
Anyway all these numbers made my head spin and i was wondering what's the actual population of America?

May 4, 2012 U.S. Population: 313,478,000.

The Census marks the under-18 population at 73.9 million on July 1, 2011.

73, 9 under working age + 100,570,000 million working age unemployed Americans = 174,470,00 Million that don't work.

313,478,000 U.S. population - 174,470,000 not working  = 139,008,000 working people, this means that only 44 % of the population works.Read the full story here.

Bin Laden's Declassified Notes To Go Online Tomorrow, '2012 Election Bonus'?

Bin Laden's Declassified Notes To Go Online Tomorrow, '2012 Election bonus'?(RFE).The United States is expected to make available online a selection of declassified notes and letters from Osama Bin Laden. The one-year anniversary of bin Laden's death at the hands of U.S. forces in Pakistan is being marked on May 2. White House counterterrorism chief John Brennan says some of the declassified documents will be posted online on May 3 by the U.S. Army's Combating Terrorism Center. Navy SEALs seized the material after killing the Al-Qaeda terrorism leader in a raid on his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan. The cache is said to include correspondence between bin Laden and affiliates, and his handwritten diary. Bin Laden evaded capture after the September 11, 2001 attacks in the United States by avoiding electronic communications, instead relying on a courier to pass messages.Hmmmm......"Milking Osama".Read the full story here.

Why the presidential election could be over at 8:30 a.m., October 26.

Why the presidential election could be over at 8:30 a.m., October 26.(American).This may be as good as it gets. Sputter-speed growth of around 2% and a moribund labor market. As the above chart suggests, the recovery is losing momentum. Here’s Goldman economist Jan Hatzius:
Goldman Sachs is turning increasingly bearish on the U.S. economy, expecting the nation to have added only 125,000 new jobs in April, as the effects of a warm winter, which buoyed employment late last year, wear off.
The forecast is far lower than the Reuters estimate of 170,000, and the average 177,250 jobs created every month from December to March. According to a report by the bank’s Chief U.S. Economist Jan Hatzius, the jobs report will be a further sign of a weakening economy, where inventory accumulation has accelerated and final demand growth remains sluggish.
Real income growth remains soft, partly because of higher energy prices, wealth effects are not yet particularly positive, consumer confidence remains modest, and again some of the recent strength in retail sales probably reflects weather effects,” Hatzius said.
And this from Goldman market strategist Abby Joseph Cohen is equally as gloomy:
She said she agrees with Goldman economist Jan Hatzius’s forecast of the second half being more “difficult” than the first. “We have seen some deceleration in economic activity” after a mild winter that might have “puffed up” seasonal growth in the first quarter, she said.
Wait, the second half will be “more difficult” than the first? We might be lucky to have 2% growth in the first half. The econ team at Citigroup seems equally as sober: “The 1Q GDP data, a month of rising jobless claims, and likely back-to-back moderate gains in non-farm employment should dampen remaining optimism that 2013 would be the year of decisive growth acceleration in the U.S. Why should any other quarter in 2012 be markedly better than 1Q?”
And given the reluctance of big banks to make U.S. recession calls, I have to think that plenty of these folks are worrying we might get a negative quarter at some point this year. Imagine the political shock wave if, say, the third quarter dipped even a smidgen. To use President Obama’s favorite analogy, the U.S. economy would be back in the ditch. And that report would be released by the Commerce Department on Oct. 26, just 11 days before the election.Hmmmm.......Obama: "All the Choices We've Made Have Been the Right Ones".Read the full story here.
