While Afghan Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansoor may have used a fake name to obtain a Pakistani identity card, his credentials with the authorities are all genuine, verifiable on specific helpline numbers.

Mansoor was reportedly killed in Balochistan in a US drone strike on May 21. A Pakistani CNIC and passport found at the site identified the victim as Muhammad Wali, a resident of Karachi.

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), which issues computerised identities to Pakistani citizens, also facilitates verifying the basic credentials via short messaging services (SMS).
When forwarded Wali’s identity card number 54400-0563462-9 at 7000 – a service to verify the CNIC holder’s name, the reply is: Muhammad Wali, son of Shah Muhammad.

The voter registration details of any CNIC number can be obtained through a text message to 8300. Wali’s number shows he was a registered voter with the serial number 38, block code 454050104, ward number 31 in Chaman Municipal Corporation union council of Killa Abdullah district.

While getting an identity card is a struggle for many Pakistani citizens, especially those living in districts other than their permanent address, the fact that Mullah Mansoor was able to get a Pakistani CNIC as well as a passport raises quite a few questions.

According to the “current address” mentioned on the CNIC, Wali lived in Flat Number B-016 of Bismillah Terrace, Plot Number FL-03, Karachi. Interestingly, the address does not include the area of this residential building, which is actually located in Gulzar-e-Hijri, Karachi.

A raid at the address in Karachi provided clues to the slain militant’s past as well.

A suspected militant associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was among three people arrested in a raid by intelligence personnel at Bismillah Terrace near Sohrab Goth, a police source told The Express Tribune. Zaynab Khadr, the outspoken sister of former Guantanamo detainee Omar Khadr, is in custody in Turkey, the Star has learned.

It isn’t known whether she has been charged or is just being held.

Khadr had moved to Turkey around the time her younger brother Omar was transferred from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to Canada in September 2012. She reportedly remarried and had two young children.

In 2005, Zaynab Khadr was under investigation for terrorism offences by the RCMP, but never charged.
 
It is not known if the Canadian-born Khadr is being held in Turkey for a criminal or immigration matter. Read the full story here.

London: A former aide of Osama bin Laden has appealed to British Muslims not to join Islamic State for the so-called jihad in Syria as he denounced the group's beheadings and mass rape as "completely against Islam".

Abdullah Anas is the most senior former jihadist and one of the architects of the Afghan jihad against the Russians.

In a rare interview, Mr Anas told 'The Sunday Times' that ISIS was exploiting conflict to advance its own agenda, rather than helping oppressed Syrians. "This jihad is not legitimate," Mr Anas said.

He denounced the group's beheadings and mass rape as "completely against Islam" and said the Quran called for prisoners to be treated with the same compassion as orphans and the poor.

He urged young British Muslims not to fall for ISIS slick propaganda on social media, adding: "You are not helping (your Syrian brothers)."

At least 700 British Muslims, including girls as young as 15, are believed to have travelled to Syria and Iraq to join ISIS and other jihadist groups such as Jabhat al-Nusra, an affiliate of al-Qaeda.

As many as 30,000 foreign fighters have headed to the Middle East, including up to 5,000 from Europe.

The influx of foreign recruits has echoes of the Muslim fighters who flocked to Afghanistan in the 1980s to help defeat the occupying Soviet army.

Mr Anas, 57, an Algerian who lives in Britain, was one of the first to arrive.

He was drawn to the region after meeting Sheikh Abdullah Azzam, a Palestinian cleric widely regarded as the 'Father of Jihad' and Osama's spiritual mentor.

In 1984, Mr Anas and Mr Azzam founded the Services Bureau, an office in Peshawar, near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border which recruited thousands of foreign fighters.

Osama joined the office in 1985 and became a key fundraiser for the Afghan cause.

Mr Anas said the 4,000 foreign recruits who travelled to the area were involved in a legitimate jihad, or holy war, against a foreign aggressor.

"But what ISIS and al-Qaeda are doing (in Syria), they are bringing their own agenda," he said.

Mr Anas said the main priority of such groups was to create an Islamic state, or caliphate, rather than to help Syrians oppressed by the regime of President Bashar al-Assad.

Mr Anas, who married Mr Azzam's daughter, sought asylum in the UK in 1996.

He rejects al-Qaeda, which was established in 1988, but has mixed memories of Osama: "I am torn between two Osamas.

The one in my heart who I remember (from the Afghan jihad) as a very high-mannered and polite man; and the one in my brain, the leader of al-Qaeda, responsible for bloodshed everywhere - that man is not someone I can love."

In an audio message released by al Qaeda website, which it claimed to be from Osama’s son, Hamza called upon followers in Kabul, Baghdad and Gaza to wage war on Washington, London, Paris and Tel Aviv.

This is the first time the militant group has presented Hamza as an official member of al Qaeda.

Hamza’s whereabouts are not known.

During the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, the Al-Jazeera network broadcast footage that appeared to show him among Taliban fighters in Afghanistan.

Since Osama Bin Laden was killed in a raid on his compound in Abbotabad in 2011, Ayman al-Zawahiri has been leading the group.

According to documents confiscated from bin Ladens’ Abbottabad hideout by US forces, and released earlier this year, the al Qaeda supremo wanted to nurture Hamza as his successor in the group.

Hamza was due to travel to Abbottabad to join his father when US forces raided the hideout. Eight of the 10 men reportedly jailed for the attempted assassination of Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai were actually set free, it has emerged.

In April, officials in Pakistan said that 10 Taliban fighters had been found guilty and received 25-year sentences.

But sources have now confirmed to the BBC that only two of the men who stood trial were convicted.

The secrecy surrounding the trial, which was held behind closed doors, raised suspicions over its validity.

Muneer Ahmed, a spokesman for the Pakistani High Commission in London, said on Friday that the eight men were acquitted because of a lack of evidence.

Saleem Marwat, the district police chief in Swat, Pakistan separately confirmed that only two men had been convicted.

Mr Ahmed claimed that the original court judgement made it clear only two men had been convicted and blamed the confusion on misreporting.

The 22-year-old would-be-jihadist wrote to his reclusive father to say he was itching to join the fight. Hamza trained with explosives and embraced the terror network that killed 3,000 Americans in the September 11, 2001 attacks.

But young Hamza was no run-of-the-mill jihadist recruit. He was the favorite son of 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden, who was grooming him to take over as Al-Qaida's leader, according to U.S. intelligence officials.

More than 100 newly declassified documents were provided to AFP by the Central Intelligence Agency, including two letters to Bin Laden from his son and one from Hamza's mother imploring that he follow in his "father's footsteps."

They included Al-Qaida correspondence noting the eagerness of Hamza, believed to have engaged in terror raids when he was a teen and propaganda videos at a younger age, to return to his father's inner circle.

The documents are part of a trove of thousands seized during the deadly 2011 U.S. Navy SEAL raid on Bin Laden's hideout.

They shed light on inner workings of the terror network and the debate over its future in light of the security noose tightening around bin Laden and the compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan where he met his fate.

Speculation still swirls about where Hamza, dubbed the "crown prince of terror" by a British MP, was on the night his father died, and no proof has emerged that he was at the compound.

He has not appeared publicly or made any public video statements in years, and his whereabouts remain a mystery, senior U.S. intelligence officials said.

But the documents depict a son describing himself as "forged in steel," ready to join his father on a journey to "victory or martyrdom," and a concerted effort by Al-Qaida to smuggle the young man to his father's hideout.

"What truly makes me sad is the mujahidin legions have marched and I have not joined them," Hamza wrote bin Laden in an eloquent letter in July 2009, when the son was under house arrest in Iran, according to an English translation provided by the CIA.

"I dread spending the rest of my young adulthood behind iron bars," he added.

"My beloved father, I announce to you that I and everyone, God be praised, are following on the same path, the path of jihad."

It was not possible to independently verify the origin of the documents or the accuracy of the CIA translation.

Officials said the seized documents showed the "enormous toll" counter-terrorism operations had on Al-Qaida, including its inability to replace leaders it had lost.

"Bin Laden at the time of his death had recognized this peril and planned to bring his son Hamza to his Abbottabad compound to groom him as a successor," a senior intelligence analyst told AFP.

Hamza had not seen his fugitive father in eight years, and described the "pain of separation" he felt at age 13 and his hopes of a reunion as a young man of 22.

"You bid us farewell and we left, and it was as if we pulled out our livers and left them there," he wrote.

After Hamza's release from house arrest, top Al-Qaida lieutenant Atiyah Abd al-Rahman wrote to bin Laden on April 5, 2011, one month before his death, detailing three possible ways to shepherd Hamza to his father.

The "least dangerous option" was sending him through Pakistan's Baluchistan province, which borders Iran, to the teeming port city of Karachi, Abd al-Rahman said, writing under the pseudonym Mahmud.

Meanwhile, Abd al-Rahman arranged for Hamza "to attend a course on explosives," he wrote.

As the plan emerged, Hamza's brother Khalid wrote to say Hamza should use a fake ID and driver's license to safely navigate Baluchistan.

Abd al-Rahman wrote Bin Laden promising to train Hamza in firing various weapons, adding that the young man was "very sweet and good." Hmmmm......'Boston Bombing'

The seed money of major North Caucasus or Chechen terrorist groups such as the Caucasus Emirate, the Islamic International Peacekeeping Brigated (IIPB), the Special Purpose Islamic Regiment (SPIR) and the Riyadus-Salikhin Reconnaissance and Sabotage Battalion of Chechen Martyrs (RSRSBCM) can all be traced back to Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden.

Although we don’t yet know to which groups the two Russian-born brothers of Chechen descent who were identified as suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings may belong, it’s important to take a look back at the origins of the money behind the North Caucasus jihadist network overall.

Islamic International Peacekeeping Brigade

The Council on Foreign Relations says that, “According to the U.S. State Department, the Islamic International Peacekeeping Brigade is the primary channel for Islamic funding of the Chechen guerillas, in part through links to al-Qaeda-related financiers on the Arabian Peninsula.”

In October 1999, emissaries of [IIPB founder Shamil Basayev] and [mujahideen leader] Ibn al-Khattab traveled to Kandahar where bin Laden agreed to provide fighters, equipment, and money to conduct terrorism and aid the fight against Russia. Later that year, bin Laden reportedly sent substantial sums of money to Basayev, Ibn al-Khattab, and Chechen commander Arbi Barayev to train gunmen, recruit mercenaries, and buy ammunition.

The United Nations says that, “With Al‑Qaida’s financial support, Al-Khattab also mobilized fighters from Ingushetia, Ossetia, Georgia and Azerbaijan to fight in Chechnya and Dagestan.”


The wealthy Wahhabis of Saudi Arabia, men like bin Laden and Khattab, fanned out in the 1980s and 1990s to wage jihad along the fringes of the Islamic world—places like Afghanistan, Bosnia, and the North Caucasus. 

They took their own money and the sadaqa donations of rich fellow Arabs to finance their cause. The disease could not be quarantined, and the infection spreads to this day.

(Reuters).A son-in-law of Osama bin Laden who served as al Qaeda’s spokesman was arrested in Jordan and then brought to New York in an operation led by Jordanian authorities and the FBI, U.S. government sources said on Thursday.

The sources said Suleiman Abu Ghaith, a militant who appeared in videos representing al Qaeda after the Sept. 11, attacks on New York and Washington in 2001, had initially been picked up in Turkey.
The Turkish government deported him to Jordan, said the sources, where local authorities and the FBI took custody of him. He had been brought to the United States in the last few days, a law enforcement source said.

Abu Ghaith is now being held in a detention facility in the New York City area and is expected to be charged and eventually brought to trial in federal court. The trial would most likely be in U.S. District Court in lower Manhattan, only blocks from the site of the World Trade Center, which was destroyed in the Sept. 11 attacks, a law enforcement source said.Read the full story here.

Major Saudi cleric defends Bin Laden on Al- Jazeera.(AA).Mohamemd al-Arifi, an influential Saudi religious scholar and professor at King Saud University, has thrown a bombshell by claiming that al-Qaeda “does not tolerate bloodshed” and that it was victimized by attributing to it a bad ideology.
During a recent television interview, he went as far as claiming that the late Oussama Bin Laden (who he referred to as "Sheikh Oussama" and prayed for his soul to be blessed) was a victim of wide-level character assassination.
Arifi, known for his often controversial statements and fatwas such as the one calling for daughters not to wear revealing clothes in the presence of their fathers, was answering questions on the Qatari state-owned Al Jazeera television this week about the French intervention in Mali.
While pointing out that "the issue in Mali" was blown out of proportion, Arifi said some people attribute to al-Qaeda many opinions and thoughts which the group does not hold.
"These beliefs in fact are not correct. Al-Qaeda members do not tolerate accusing other Muslims of apostasy and they do not tolerate bloodshed. I am not part of al-Qaeda and I do not adopt their thinking, but Allah says: ‘And when you testify, be just,’” Arifi said.
He said that from his meeting with al-Qaeda members who went through the kingdom’s terrorist rehabilitation program, he discovered that they did not hold opinions and thoughts often attributed to al-Qaeda. “Even al-Qaeda leader Sheikh Oussama Bin Laden, may his soul rest in peace, did not adopt many of the thoughts that are attributed to him today,” Arfif explained.

Turkish authorities have reportedly rejected a formal extradition request by the United States for a son-in-law of Osama bin Laden, who was arrested in Ankara on Friday following a tip-off by the Central Intelligence Agency.
Suleiman Abu Ghaith was born in Kuwait but had his citizenship revoked after publicly opposing the rule of the Kuwaiti monarchy and demanding the institution of shari’a law in the oil emirate.
In 2000, he traveled to Afghanistan where he met Osama bin Laden and joined al-Qaeda. He eventually married Fatima bin Laden, one of bin Laden’s numerous daughters, who is currently living in Saudi Arabia. He gradually rose within the ranks of the organization, eventually becoming one of its public spokesmen.
Soon after the US invasion of Afghanistan, in 2001, Ghaith is believed to have escaped from Afghanistan by entering Iran on foot. He was eventually captured by Iranian government forces and placed in a detention camp along with other suspected al-Qaeda and Taliban members.
It is not known how he managed to leave Iran and enter Turkey (though some say he was released the by Iranian authorities), or how the CIA knew of his presence there.
However, according to Turkey’s leading daily Milliyet, the Agency contacted members of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (known as MİT) and told them that Ghaith had entered the country on a forged passport. He was arrested soon afterwards at a hotel in Ankara’s affluent Çankaya district. The hotel where Ghaith was captured is reportedly located near the official residence of the Turkish President and a stone’s throw from numerous foreign embassies —including the embassy of the US, which was attacked by a suicide bomber on February 1.
Turkish officials have said that Ghaith’s presence in the Turkish capital was not connected with the attack on the US embassy, which is believed to have been carried out by a secular Marxist group. Interestingly, notes Milliyet, a Turkish judge refused to detain Ghaith because “he had not committed any criminal act while in Turkey” other than entering the country on a forged passport. Soon after his court hearing, Ghaith was turned over to the Turkish military, which deported him back to Iran. In doing so, the Turkish authorities rejected an official US request for Ghaith’s extradition, claiming that they were obligated to return bin Laden’s son-in-law to Iran due to a host of “technical reasons”.
Turkey has repeatedly refused to collaborate with US counterterrorism agencies in recent years, citing concerns about Washington’s alleged favorable treatment of Kurdish interests in Northern Iraq, and its alleged support of Israel in its ongoing dispute with Turkey.Hmmmmm.......“Thank God Almighty,” said Mr. Erdogan in 1994, when he was the mayor of Istanbul. “I am a servant of Shariah.” Read the full story here.

In an interview that aired on Iran’s PressTV, a Turkish activist named Eser Uzun Belding suggested that Al-Qaeda may have been behind the attack for possibly two reasons. The attack coincided with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s last day and that earlier this week, the son-in-law of Osama bin Laden was detained in Ankara.

The former spokesman of the terror network reportedly escaped Afghanistan following the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center in 2001 and settled in a camp in Iran.
The U.S. intelligence learned that he entered Turkey on a false passport and informed the Turkish intelligence agency (MIT) about his location. He was detained at a hotel in Çankaya district of Ankara, Hurryiet Daily News reported, quoting the Daily Milliyet.
The London-based Asharq al-Awsat quoted a source close to Abu Gheith's family as saying that he intended to seek political asylum in Turkey.
The man is the husband of Fatima Bin Laden who currently lives in Saudi Arabia. Abu Gheith is a Kuwaiti national who had citizenship revoked.
Asharq al-Awsat quoted a statement by the London-based Islamic Observatory, specialized in the news of Islamist movements, as saying that “Turkish authorities arrested the Kuwait national Suleiman Jassim Abu Gheith” adding that “his Kuwaiti nationality had been stripped from him.”
The arrest of Abu Gheith came a day after a suicide bomber blew himself up at the U.S. embassy in Ankara killing a Turkish security guard and wounding three other people.
The bombing at the entrance to the highly-fortified embassy in an upmarket area of the capital on Friday was the latest in a series of attacks on missions in the Muslim world, highlighting the vulnerability of the country's 70,000 diplomats.

Pakistan - Abbottabad raid: Commission finally submits report to Prime Minister, report ‘contradicts’ US version of events.(Tribune).ISLAMABAD: Chairman Abbottabad Commission Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the Prime Minister’s House on Thursday to submit the commission’s report.
A release from the prime minister house said that during the meeting, Justice Iqbal briefed Ashraf on the salient features of the report that had been finalised by the Commission back in October, 2012.
The prime minister appreciated the efforts and hard work of the chairman and his team in the compilation of this report, despite the fact that the Commission submitted its report almost 19 months after it was formed, and 20 months after the infamous raid.
The commission took over a year to compile the 700-page report about the May 2, 2011 incident in which US troops had snuck in to Pakistani territory and proceeded to raid a compound in the garrison town of Abbottabad where al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden was killed.
Law ministry officials had said that the report was finalised in October 2012, but could not be submitted to the prime minister because one of the commission’s members, former inspector general of police Abbas Khan, was undergoing heart treatment in the US and was thus not available.
Excerpts leaked to the press from the yet-to-be-made-public report differed with the US account of the incident.
According to the report, the findings are based on statements taken from Osama bin Laden’s family, his neighbours and government officials who entered the compound after the US special forces’ raid as well as senior government and military officials.
Some of the details are surprisingly personal – Bin Laden lived in the compound from 2005 to 2011, never left the residence during his stay, and watched Al Jazeera Television for news alerts regarding al Qaeda.
During the raid that ended the life of the world’s ‘most wanted terrorist’, Bin Laden advised his family members to be patient and to read the Kalma Sharif.They tell of how Bin Laden advised his family members to pray during the raid. CORRECTION: Brother of Bin Laden Is Not Financing Mohammed Movie.(TMBR).In our post from last week reporting on the $1 billion movie on the life of the Islamic prophet Mohamed, we inadvertently identified the wrong company financing the film. According to to Variety.com report, the Al-Noor Holdings that is doing the financing is a Qatari based-entity, not the UAE group owned by Tarek Bin Laden. GMBDR regrets the error and encourages readers to bring to our attention any errors in our reporting which we always correct as soon as we become aware of them. We do note Global Muslim Brotherhood leader Youssef Qaradawi’s role as an advisor to the film which we consider to be a significant aspect of the story. Gulf media are reporting that a Doha-based company owned by a brother of Osama Bin Laden is producing a $1 billion dollar movie on the life and teachings of the Prophet Mohammad. According to the Gulf News report, Global Muslim Brotherhood leader Youssef Qaradawi is serving as an advisor to the film:

December 19, 2012 A $1 billion epic movie on the life and teachings of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) is set to be produced by Doha-based Al Noor Holding. The media company said that the movie endorsed by Islamic scholars, including Yusuf Al Qaradawi, the Chairman of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, would be in seven parts and would be produced according to the highest international standards using the most sophisticated technical and audio-visual systems.
The company on Monday said that the team of experts has finished writing the scenario after overcoming a series of artistic and dramatic challenges. The approval of leading Muslim scholars was necessary for the company to move ahead with the movie production. ‘We are aware of the fact that this (film) is a difficult and a challenging task,’ Al Noor Holding said in September.
‘This is why we have consulted many famous Islamic scholars, among them Dr Al Qaradawi, who will guide us on the Sharia aspect of the film.’ Under strict Islamic laws, prophets cannot be depicted on screen or in print and the movie will be no exception. However, his companions will appear in the movie screen, in a decision that breaks with long-held views that their status among Muslims does not allow their depiction or embodiment on screen either.
At the media opportunity in Doha on Monday, Al Qaradawi said that he conducted his own research and that he consulted with 30 senior scholars on showing the Prophet’s companions in a movie.
‘Following the studies and the consultations, I have come to the conclusion that there was nothing wrong with showing the companions in dramatic work,’ he said. ‘I used to oppose the idea as we have formed our own cognitive image and characterization of the prophets and companions and that we should not distort them with human images. However, following long researches and studies, I realised that we have been excessive in our approach and that there is no text or reference in the Quran or in the Prophet’s Tradition and Sayings that does not allow it,’ he said in remarks published by Qatari daily Al Sharq on Tuesday.

The company is majority-owned by its Chairman, Sheikh Tarek M. Binladen. The Name “Al Noor” is Arabic and means “light”. Hence the term Al Noor City can be translated as “City of Light”.
According to a wide variety of sources, Tarek M. Bin Laden is a brother of Osama Bin Laden who is related by their common father.

Obama Admin Admits Info Released to Zero Dark Thirty Filmmakers Might Pose a ‘security and counterintelligence risk’.(JW).Judicial Watch announced today that Obama administration officials disclosed in sworn court documents that sensitive information released to the filmmakers for the upcoming film on the bin Laden raid, Zero Dark Thirty, could cause an “unnecessary security and counterintelligence risk” if released to the public. The admissions, made during the course of Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit seeking records pertaining to cooperation between Obama administration officials and director Kathryn Bigelow and screenwriter Mark Boal in preparation for the film, raise questions about the public statement to reporters by Obama White House spokesman Jay Carney regarding the controversy: “We do not discuss classified information.” The government claims that the information shared is not necessarily classified “in isolation.”
“The government cannot have it both ways in this case,” Judicial Watch argued in a countermotion for summary judgment filed with the court on November 12, 2012. “If this information were very sensitive, it would not have been shared with the filmmakers. Since the government did share the information with the filmmakers, the court should conclude that it is necessarily not sensitive … Assisting to make a movie about government accomplishments is not a necessary or important governmental function. If it were, the term for it would be political propaganda.”
JW previously obtained records from the Department of Defense (DOD) and the CIA regarding meetings and communications between government agencies and Kathryn Bigelow, the Academy Award-winning director of The Hurt Locker, and screenwriter Mark Boal in preparation for Zero Dark Thirty. According to the records, the Obama administration sought to have “high visibility” into bin Laden related projects, and granted Boal and Bigelow unusual access to agency information in preparation for their film, now scheduled for release in mid-December. The disclosures made to the filmmakers are now part of an investigation by the DOD Inspector General.
The DOD and the CIA have continued to withhold information concerning the names of five CIA and military operatives involved in the bin Laden operation, which were shared with the filmmakers. Judicial Watch has identified the precise emails containing the information it wishes to obtain, and in sworn declarations Obama administration officials conceded that this information was provided to Bigelow and Boal.
Mark Herrington, Associate Deputy General Counsel, testified that the military officers’ “identities would be threatened” if publicly disclosed but admitted that Under Secretary of Defense Mike Vickers released one of the names to Mark Boal.
According to sworn testimony from CIA Information Review Officer Martha Lutz, releasing of this type of information could provide an “unnecessary security and counterintelligence risk”:

Nonetheless, I can represent to the Court that the absolute protection for officers’ identities that Congress provided in the CIA Act is extremely important to the functioning of the Agency and the safety and security of its employees. This is true even for the identities of officers who are not undercover, and it is also true with respect to the first names of undercover officers. While such identifying information may not be classified in isolation, the widespread public release of this information creates an unnecessary security and counterintelligence risk for the Agency and its officers.

In its brief seeking to deny Judicial Watch access to the names of the CIA operatives, the government asserts that it had protected the operatives’ confidentiality by asking the filmmakers not to share the names. In its cross motion, however, JW responds that the government has provided no evidence that it asked the filmmakers to sign a non-disclosure agreement, or any other contract that would prevent them from sharing the names as required under law. In addition, the government has provided no evidence that either Boal or Bigelow underwent background checks or received security clearances before being provided the information the DOD and CIA now claim is too sensitive for public disclosure.
“The Obama administration now confirms to a federal court that it released sensitive information to help with a film that was set to portray Barack Obama as ‘gutsy.’ If this is true, then the Obama administration was lying to the American people when it said the leaks were no big deal,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “The public has a right to get to the bottom of this scandal and the Obama administration should comply with the open records law and disclose the names that were leaked.”Read the full story here.

U.K. - Bin Laden's 'right-hand man' Abu Qatada will be back on our streets TOMORROW.(DM).Terror suspect Abu Qatada today won his appeal against deportation to Jordan to face trial and will be released tomorrow after being granted bail.
It's a huge setback for the Government which has been trying to get him out of the UK for a decade.
The radical cleric, once described by a judge as Osama Bin Laden's right-hand man in Europe, has been fighting extradition to Jordan, where he was convicted of terror charges in his absence in 1999.
An immigration appeals court blocked the deportation because judges were not convinced that no evidence obtained through torture would be used against Qatada in Jordan.
Special Immigration Appeals Commission judges said the British government 'has not satisfied us that ...there is no real risk' that statements obtained under torture would not be used at a trial abroad.
Qatada - whose lawyers had previously insisted that he would not get a fair trial in Jordan - was allowed to stay in Britain in 1994, but the Government desperately wants him deported.
The judge said he wanted to subject Qatada to ‘standard-style’ bail conditions and after seven years of detention, did not want to deprive him of his liberty.
The cleric will be subject to a 16-hour curfew and will be allowed out between 8am and 4pm. He will be bailed to his home address, but the court earlier heard he and his family were planning to move.
Home Secretary Theresa May was given assurances by Jordan that no evidence gained through torture would be used against Qatada, who would face a retrial there over the terror charges Legal costs for Qatada have amounted to £420,000 over a 10-year period - including £5,288 for legal action over his jail conditions, figures revealed last week. In his latest stint in British jail, Qatada has been behind bars for seven months since April 17. The Home Office said the Government 'strongly disagrees' with the Siac ruling and wanted to appeal.
A spokesman said: 'We have obtained assurances not just in relation to the treatment of Qatada himself, but about the quality of the legal processes that would be followed throughout his trial.
'Indeed, today's ruling found that "the Jordanian judiciary, like their executive counterparts, are determined to ensure that the appellant will receive, and be seen to receive, a fair retrial". We will therefore seek leave to appeal today's decision.'Read the full story here.

Sudanese Islamist: Obama Should Win, ‘Baraka’ Means Blessing.(INN).A Sudanese opposition leader and prominent Sunni Muslim who had links to al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in the 1990s said he hopes President Barack Obama will get re-elected in Tuesday’s much anticipated election, AFP reported.
 “You know what ‘Baraka’ means in Arabic? Blessing,” said veteran Islamist leader Hassan al-Turabi, who served as the secretary-general of the Islamic Charter Front, a political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood that advocated an Islamic constitution and opposed western secularism. “Obama of course,” Turabi told AFP, when asked about his U.S. presidential preference during an interview. “He’s gentle towards the Muslims generally,” Turabi said, and referred to Obama’s childhood spent in Muslim-majority Indonesia, and his Kenyan father who was raised as a Muslim.
Obama uses the word “terrorism” far less than his predecessor George W. Bush, and his name is a variant of the Arabic word “Baraka,” Turabi told the news agency. Turabi has been a force in Sudanese politics for six decades, and was a key figure behind the 1989 coup, which brought the Islamist regime of President Omar al-Bashir to power. Sudan then became a notorious refuge for Islamic terrorists, including bin Laden, who was killed by U.S. special forces in May 2011. “He’s a media image. He’s not the true bin Laden I knew here,” Turabi said of the man whose terror organization has been tied to dozens of atrocities around the world including the September 11, 2001 attacks which killed around 3,000 people in the U.S. Turabi, whose daughter studies in Philadelphia, fell out with Bashir about a decade after the Islamist coup and now leads the opposition Popular Congress Party. Obama campaign accepts 'Osama bin Laden' donations.(WND).This isn't evidence that Obama supports al Qaeda. This is just more evidence that the Obama campaign is intentionally running a sloppy internet fundraising effort so that they can collect illegal contributions from overseas.
I think, though, that the limits of plausible deniability were stretched to the breaking point months ago when the campaign was first notified about the flaw in their system yet did nothing. The Romney campaign, on the other hand, uses industry standard verification for donors and therefore is much less susceptible to this sort of fraud.
I hate to link it, but I will make the rare exception in this case since I like Aaron Klein despite his affiliation with ... WND:

Using a Pakistani Internet Protocol and proxy server, a disposable credit card and a fake address, “Osama bin Laden” has successfully donated twice to Barack Obama’s presidential re-election campaign.
The “Bin Laden” donations, actually made by WND staff, included a listed occupation of “deceased terror chief” and a stated employer of “al-Qaida.”
“Bin Laden” is currently set up on the official campaign website to contribute more to Obama’s campaign. The name is also registered as a volunteer.
Since the “foreign” contribution was sent, “Bin Laden’s” email address has received several solicitations from Obama’s campaign asking for more donations.

WND has received confirmation from the credit card company that the purchase went through and the $5 was deducted from the disposable card. From the time of the first donation until today, the Obama campaign sent nine more emails to the bin Laden Gmail account soliciting more donations.

One email sent Saturday reads, “Thanks so much for your donation of $5.00. Please take 10% off your next purchase of $10 or more at our online store.” Another, signed by Michelle Obama, was titled “Barack is getting outraised.” “You’re one of the campaign’s most committed supporters,” Michelle Obama writes in the automated email to “bin Laden.” “Please make a donation of $19 or whatever you can today.” 

The donations from a Pakistani IP address are sure to raise further questions about the measures in place to block such donations.
Cleta Mitchell, a Republican campaign finance attorney, told WND there were many documented cases of illegal foreign contributions to the Obama campaign in 2008 that were “wholly ignored by the Federal Election Commission and the Obama Department of Justice.” “I have been hearing the same stories from many sources during this campaign as well,” she said. “Every other campaign has safeguards against these illegal transactions – every campaign except the Obama campaign.” Mitchell told WND it’s “abundantly clear that the Obama campaign is raising and accepting illegal contributions – and is being protected from investigation by his politicized Department of Justice.” “It is high time that this was investigated and all illegal funds disgorged – and those responsible be prosecuted,” she asserted.Read the full story here.
