‘Boycott Israel’ app in final stages of development

Self destruct phone

‘Boycott Israel’ app in final stages of development.(RT).
The Boycott Israel movement is developing a smart-phone application that will allow followers to avoid Israeli products. The campaign for Palestinian rights continues to gather momentum, despite Israeli accusations of anti-Semitism.
The BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement is working on the Beta version of an app for its supporters. Drawing on a comprehensive database of warehousing product names and descriptions, the app will allow users to scan products to find out immediately whether they fall within the boycott’s guidelines.

The founder of PennBDS, Abbas Naqvi, told the Business Insider that the app will allow the average Joe” to "dynamically and quickly identify products that fall within the BDS boycott guidelines.”

The application is currently in the final stages of development and the BDS says it will be ready to download in the near future.

BDS is a self-proclaimed movement that aims to “target products and companies (Israeli and international) that profit from the violation of Palestinian rights, as well as Israeli sporting, cultural and academic institutions.”

Israel's staunchest 'Ally' - US behind European protest measures over E-1.

Israel's staunchest 'Ally' - US behind European protest measures over E-1.HT: IsraelMatzav. The Israeli ambassadors to Britain, France, Sweden, Australia others have been summoned by their host countries to protest Israel's plans to build new housing in 'east' Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria. And yet, the ambassador to the United States has not been summoned, nor has the ambassador in any country that Israel would likely brush off (e.g. Turkey). Now, we know why. The Hussein Obama administration is orchestrating all of the Europeans' moves.
The United States was behind the summoning of Israeli ambassadors by several European nations, Israeli sources with close ties to US administration officials said Monday."The European move is essentially an American move," one official said. "The Brits asked the Americans how to act.""The Americans and Brits believe that building in area E1 would essentially terminate the peace process," an Israeli official explained. Earlier this week, Britain, France, Spain, Sweden and Denmark summoned the Israeli ambassadors in their capitals to express deep disapproval of the plan to erect 3,000 more homes in the West Bank and east Jerusalem."The Europeans got the green light to respond with extreme measures and the US in the meantime decided not to impose economic sanctions on the Palestinians in response to their UN bid," the official said. "The Americans decided to bolster Abu Mazen (Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas) and push for a resumption of peace talks."
I find it astounding that building in E-1 (which we're not doing yet, and which will take years to ) would 'essentially terminate the peace process' while the 'Palestinians' essentially gutting the Oslo accords by going to the UN in the first place is given a pass.
More importantly, where the heck is Congress? Why aren't they moving to sanction the 'Palestinians' as is required by US law?
Following the wave of international criticism, the prime minister's bureau said that Israel will continue to pursue its vital interests "even in the face of international pressure. The decision will not be changed."It was further stated that "if the Palestinians continue to act unilaterally – Israel will act accordingly."... "The US regards the E1 construction plan as an even bigger slap in the face than what happened during Biden's visit," the Israeli official remarked."The Americans are at a difficult position having backed Israel at the UN against the Palestinian bid. They did not expect this from Israel. Administration officials feel that Netanyahu is humiliating them and making a fool out of them by creating such a diplomatic crisis."
Repeat after me: Actions have consequences. If the Americans were reacting to this in a logical way, they would be saying to the 'Palestinians' 'you've gutted Oslo, now go deal with the mess you made.' Of course, that would never happen in a Hussein Obama (or Clinton) administration, but that's how George W. Bush would have dealt with them.Read the full story here.

Unbelievable: UN 'human rights council' calls for boycott of US companies, arrest of their employees.

Unbelievable: UN 'human rights council' calls for boycott of US companies, arrest of their employees.HT: IsraelMatzav.Remember how the Obama administration insisted on joining the United Nations 'human rights council' so that they could 'reform' it from within show they were different than the Bush administration? Remember how, in a bid to bind a future administration if Obama loses the election, Obama insisted on re-upping for a second term far before it was necessary to make that decision? And of course you know that the 'human rights council' has an agenda item on Israel - and only on Israel - as if Israel were not only a human rights violator, but the only human rights violator in the world.

Well, now the UN is paying back President Hussein Obama for his devotion to the 'human rights council.' On Thursday, the council called for boycotting American companies that do business with Israel. That includes companies like Motorola, Hewlett Packard and Caterpillar. It also includes companies based in Britain, France, Mexico, Israel and others. Really (Hat Tip: Lance K).
The Free Beacon has obtained a report soon to be released by the United Nations that calls for an international campaign of legal attacks and economic warfare on a group of American companies that do business in Israel, including Hewlett-Packard, Caterpillar Inc., and Motorola Solutions Inc.

...

In a letter to U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon, the Anti-Defamation League’s Abraham Foxman blasted the report and the HRC’s special rapporteur: “We believe you should have prevented the Secretariat from being a party to Mr. Falk’s anti-Israel agenda. Mr. Falk’s entire tenure as Special Rapporteur has served to undermine the credibility of the institution of the United Nations.”
The report attempts to instigate a campaign of boycott, divestment, sanctions, and legal action against a litany of international companies doing business in Israel. In addition to American companies, the U.N. targets include major European firms such as Veolia Environnement, Group 4 Security, the Dexia Group, the Volvo Group.
“The costs to companies and businesses of failing to respect international humanitarian law are considerable,” the report warns, “including damage to a company’s public image, impact on shareholder decisions and share price and could result in employees being criminally responsible for rights abuses.”
But wait - it gets worse.
The report warns American employees of targeted companies that they face legal risks.

“Employees of companies can face investigation and prosecution for human rights violations committed irrespective of where the violation was committed.”

In addition to legal action against American employees of targeted companies, the Special Rapporteur “concludes that all companies that operate in or otherwise have dealings with Israeli settlements should be boycotted.” The companies should ”be prepared to accept any consequences—reputation, financial, or legal—of continuing operations.”

Should the companies continue doing business in Israel, the Human Rights Council “calls on civil society to actively pursue legal and political redress against non-complying business” and “to vigorously pursue initiatives to boycott, divest and sanction the businesses highlighted in this report” and “calls on the international community to consider requesting an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice” to punish the businesses.
Mitt Romney should call now for the US to withdraw from the 'human rights council' and should pledge to withdraw immediately should he become President. Enough is enough.

U.S.-Muslim group calls for boycott of dates grown on Israeli-occupied land.

U.S.-Muslim group calls for boycott of dates grown on Israeli-occupied land.(AA).Two days before the beginning of Ramadan, an American Muslim group based in the U.S. launched a nationwide campaign calling for the boycott of dates grown on Israeli-occupied land in the West Bank. The American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) started the campaign, titled “This Ramadan Make a Date with Justice: Choose Occupation-Free Dates,” as another step in the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement that targets Israeli products on the international market. BDS began in 2005 as a form of non-violent protest to the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine. “Unfortunately, many Muslims unknowingly use Israeli dates, most of which are grown in Israeli settlements built illegally on Palestinian land,” said Mr. Awad Hamdan, AMP National Programs director told Al Arabiya. Awad said: “It’s about educating the American people; Muslim and non-Muslim community.” The AMP aims to inform the public of the origins of products that support Israeli settlements, and timed its most recent campaign to coincide with a holiday in which dates get a lot of attention. “We decided to launch the campaign during the month of Ramadan to gain speed very quickly and it has resulted to be successful. Dates are a product bought a lot from Muslim consumers during Ramadan because it’s typically eaten to break from their fast,” said Awad. Over 170 groups joined the BDS movement when it began in 2005, including many Jewish organizations like Jewish Voices for Peace. “We support these kinds of actions. We believe that justice is important and feel that this is one perfect opportunity to stand with our Muslim brothers and sisters,” said Sydney Levy, a member and staff write for JVP. “This movement will remind consumers day to day that they can have a choice to be accomplice with injustice or make a small step to detach themselves from injustice,” he said. AMP wants consumers to stop buying dates from the company Hadiklaim, sold under brands like Jordan River, Jordan River Bio-Tops and King Solomon. Read the full story here.
