Former leader of the organization that was accused of the recent twin blasts that killed over 50 people in Reyhanlı, denied all accusations and claimed the incident was Israel’s work, according to daily Radikal.

Mihraç Ural, member and former leader of “Acilciler,” or the Hasty Ones, claimed the incident was similar to previous acts of Israel, and denied any connections to his organization.

“Acilciler hasn’t been around for two decades, and has not committed any military acts for the past 30 years,” Ural told daily Radikal. “How can you bring such a group into such a complicated act?”

Ural said such an act could have been made by those “wishing to alter all balances in the Middle East, and to pin the Syrian and Turkish people against each other.”

“Israel has an interest in this, since the Syrian army’s recent gains show that Bashar al-Assad is here to stay,” Ural said.

Several reports have claimed that Acilciler, cooperating with Mukhabarat, the Syrian secret police, are responsible of the attack that killed 51 people in Reyhanlı. Forty-one of the victims have been identified, including 36 Turkish citizens.

Turkish authorities have blamed the supporters of President Bashar al-Assad for the blasts, but Syria speedily denied the accusations.Hmmm....When in doubt .....'blame the Jews'....never fails.Read the full story here.

The U.N. peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon has protested to Israel after it observed increased violations of Lebanese air space by Israel, which carried out raids in Syria to target what it said were Iranian missiles bound for Hezbollah militants.

Intelligence sources said Israel on May 3 and May 5 attacked Iranian-supplied missiles stored near the Syrian capital of Damascus, awaiting transport to Hezbollah, an ally of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

"UNIFIL (the U.N. Interim Force in Lebanon) says that in the course of the past week it has observed a higher number of Israeli air violations over Lebanese air space," U.N. spokesman Martin Nesirky told reporters on May 7.

"The U.N. Interim Force has lodged firm protests with the Israeli Defence Force on this matter asking them to cease the over flights," Nesirky said.

Lebanon, in a letter obtained by Reuters on May 6, also called on the U.N. Security Council to "compel Israel to halt its violations of Lebanon's sovereignty by air, sea and land, and carry out all its obligations in accordance with Resolution 1701."

U.N. Security Council Resolution 1701 halted the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war in southern Lebanon, which remains a stronghold of Hezbollah militants. Lebanon regularly accuses Israel of violating its airspace. Turkey and Iran have also condemned the Israeli strikes on Syria. Read the full story here.

Iran: "Israel strike on Syria will have consequences for Tel Aviv."(TI).A high-ranking Iranian official has condemned Israel's airstrike on a military research center near the Syrian capital city of Damascus, noting that the assault will have serious consequences for the Tel Aviv, reported PressTV.
Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Thursday that the attack clearly demonstrated that foreign-sponsored militants and Israel pursue the same goals with regard to Syria.
He called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon to adopt an effective and practical measure against the attack.
"Parties that have always taken tough stances on Syria should now take serious measures and decisive positions on this invasion by Tel Aviv and place regional security high on their list of priorities," Amir-Abdollahian pointed out.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister also advised Israeli officials not to rely too much on the Patriot missile systems deployed in the region, stressing that their ineffectiveness has been already proven in the Israel's eight-day aggression against the Gaza Strip in November 2012.
