An Irish Holocaust memorial organization said that Israel will be mentioned at a Dublin commemoration ceremony in January in response to reports that it had instructed the master of ceremonies to refrain from mentioning the Jewish state.

In October, the website Israellycool.com reported that Holocaust Education Trust Ireland (HETI) board chairman Peter Cassell wrote in a letter that “it was decided in [the] future, the MC of Holocaust Memorial Day will not refer to the Jewish state or the State of Israel during any part of the ceremony.”

It was subsequently reported that Yanky Fachler, the recipient of the letter and a longtime master of ceremonies of the annual event, was recently fired by HETI.

“They came to an absolutely unacceptable decision, and someone must be held accountable for it. I don’t know how they did it, or why they did it, but we need to know how they got to this decision,” Fachler told The Algemeiner.

HETI eventually reversed its policy, issuing a statement that said there “is no ban on mentioning Israel at the Holocaust Memorial Day commemoration in Ireland.”

“Israel will be referred to and the Israeli ambassador has attended and participated in the ceremony since its inception in 2003, and will do so again in January 2015. Holocaust Education Trust Ireland (HETI) has this week reassured the Jewish Community in Ireland of this,” the organization said.

A furore has broken out in Ireland after organizers of the forthcoming Holocaust Memorial Day on January 27 decided to ban any mention of Israel at the event.

“The trustees of Holocaust Educational Trust Ireland (HETI) have instructed the host of the country’s main Shoah memorial event in January ‘not to refer to the Jewish State or the State of Israel during any part of the ceremony,’” the London-based Jewish Chronicle newspaper reported.

The ban follows a similar bar imposed just days before this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day in Ireland, when long-standing host Yanky Fachler was told to avoid mentioning Israel, the JC said.
He reluctantly complied when his objections fell on deaf ears but, afterwards, complained in writing to the organising body, HETI - only to be told the rule will again apply at January’s event at Dublin’s Mansion House.

Six days later, Fachler received a letter from HETI chair Peter Cassells telling him he was being replaced after 12 years in the job.

“I felt like I’d been hit very hard in my stomach,” Fachler said. The HETI decision “plays directly into the hands of everyone who doesn’t like Jews or Israel and I find it very sad that apparently the two Jewish members of the board did this,” he said.

The JC noted that Alan Shatter, a Jewish politician and former Justice and Equality Minister, “emphatically denied” that he had asked for Fachler to be sacked at a meeting with HETI to review the Holocaust commemoration event.

“I’m concerned that board members of HETI have been influenced in how they’re approaching this issue by the hostility towards Israel in some sections of Irish public discourse and by the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement,” Shatter told the JC, after describing Fachler as an “outstanding” Master of Ceremonies.

Indeed, in his address to the 2014 commemoration ceremony in Dublin, Shatter specifically pointed out that “Holocaust denial is the favorite sport of some, in particular in Europe, and in the Middle East. It is the first cousin of those who still see Jews, for no reason other than they are Jewish, as legitimate targets for hate speech and random violence and of extremists who would, if they could, bring about a second Holocaust by the extermination of the 6 million Jews who today are citizens of the State of Israel.”

HETI’s website currently carries no mention on the ban upon mentioning Israel at the January 2015 commemoration event. The organization continues to promote a July 2015 seminar for Holocaust educators at Israel’s Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial and museum in Jerusalem.
Maurice Cohen, chairman of the Jewish Representative Council of Ireland, said: “This decision is both reprehensible and unacceptable to the wider Irish Jewish Community and is at complete variance with the stated aims and objectives of the trust. The community is horrified.”

Scientists secretly vaccinated more than 2,000 children in religious-run homes in suspected illegal drug trials, it emerged today.

Old medical records show that 2,051 children and babies in Irish care homes were given a one-shot diphtheria vaccine for international drugs giant Burroughs Wellcome between 1930 and 1936.

There is no evidence that consent was ever sought, nor any records of how many may have died or suffered debilitating side-effects as a result.

The scandal was revealed as Irish premier, Enda Kenny, ordered ministers to see whether there are more mass baby graves after the discovery that 800 infants may be buried in a septic tank outside a former mother and baby home in Tuam, Co. Galway.

The Taioseach intervened from the United States yesterday to say that he had ordered his officials to 'see what the scale is, what's involved here, and whether this is isolated or if there are others around the country that need to be looked at.' Michael Dwyer, of Cork University’s School of History, found the child vaccination data by trawling through tens of thousands of medical journal articles and archive files.

He discovered that the trials were carried out before the vaccine was made available for commercial use in the UK. Homes where children were secretly tested included Bessborough, in Co. Cork and Sean Ross Abbey in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, both of which are at the centre of the mass baby graves scandal.

Other institutions where children may also have been vaccinated include Cork orphanages St Joseph’s Industrial School for Boys, run by the Presentation Brothers, and St Finbarr’s Industrial School for Girls, run by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd. In Dublin, it is believed that children for the trials came from St Vincent’s Industrial School, Goldenbridge, St Joseph’s School for Deaf Boys, Cabra, and St Saviours’s Dominican Orphanage.

But Mr Dwyer said: 'What I have found is just the tip of a very large and submerged iceberg. '

The fact that no record of these trials can be found in the files relating to the Department of Local Government and Public Health, the Municipal Health Reports relating to Cork and Dublin, or the Wellcome Archives in London, suggests that vaccine trials would not have been acceptable to government, municipal authorities, or the general public.

'However, the fact that reports of these trials were published in the most prestigious medical journals suggests that this type of human experimentation was largely accepted by medical practitioners and facilitated by authorities in charge of children’s residential institutions.'

Following the discovery and reports of medical tests, Irish Premier Enda Kenny ordered ministers to search for further mass baby graves.

The archbishop of Dublin, Diarmuid Martin, has called for an investigation in Tuan independent of the Catholic Church since “mother and baby homes” mostly operated in Ireland from the 1920s to 1960s, when Catholic policy and control of social services reached their zenith.

“We have to look at the whole culture of mother and baby homes; they’re talking about medical experiments there,” he told RTE Radio at the weekend.

“They’re very complicated and very sensitive issues, but the only way we will come out of this particular period of our history is when the truth comes out.”Read the full story here.

Bodies of nine women who died in the Tuam Mother and Baby home may also lie near the 796 infants buried in a septic tank on the grounds, according to locals.

The records obtained by local historian Catherine Corless – which show that close to 800 babies died at the Tuam Mother and Baby home – also reveal that nine women died over the same period.

However, she has been unable to ascertain where their graves are.

Local man Martin Ward, who is heavily involved in the committee to erect a plaque in memory of the dead, said he believes the women lie alongside the infants.

"We believe there's nine women buried there as well,according to the records. They show nine women died and we presume that they are buried there," he said.Hmmm......ANOTHER HUGE FAIL FOR THE CATHOLIC CHURCH?More here.

The children, one as old as nine, died between 1925 and 1961. The grave in Tuam was initially thought to date to the 1850s when discovered 40 years ago.

Archbishop of Dublin Diarmuid Martin said the truth must come out.

"The indications are that if something happened in Tuam, it probably happened in other mother and baby homes around the country," Dr Martin told RTÉ radio.

President Barack Obama’s use of drones coupled with his decision to provide arms to Syrian rebels prompted one outspoken Irish lawmaker to refer to him as a “war criminal” and “hypocrite of the century,” following his G8 summit visit.

Parliamentarian Clare Daly said Ireland had displayed itself “as a nation of pimps, prostituting ourselves in return for a pat on the head,” according to The Irish Times.

The “unprecedented slobbering” during the president’s visit to Northern Ireland, she said, had even led to speculation that “you were going to deck the Cabinet out in leprechaun hats decorated with a bit of stars and stripes to really mark abject humiliation.”

“We’ve had very little challenging of the fact that [Michelle Obama’s] glad to be home,” she said. “‘Home’ a country she’s been in less than a week and her husband has very tenuous links in.”

After referring to the president’s speech on peace to children in Northern Ireland, Daly asked, “is this person going for the hypocrite of the century award? Because we have to call things by their proper names, and the reality is by any serious examination, this man is a war criminal.”

“This is the man who is in essence stalling the Geneva peace talks by trying to broker enhanced leverage for the Syrian opposition by giving them arms — and to hell with the thousands more who’ll lose their lives, or the tens of thousands who will be displaced,” Daly said.

The Obama handlers were desperately trying to suggest that an American man called Falmouth Kearney who was traced in the USA on a gravestone was originally from Moneygall Ireland and here was their proof. Its an obvious fraud. Its a deliberate forgery. You dont need to be a handwriting expert to see that it has been tampered with. The Irish people who first saw the alteration didnt want to question it and were happy to go along with it once the Obama election handlers latched on to it in order to pretend that he had Irish blood in him to get some wavering Irish votes in America.
It was what they wanted to believe. It would bring business to a deprived rural area.
The name Falmouth is unheard of in Ireland and was very likely the name of a young Englishman from the town of Falmouth in Cornwall, England, who joined the emigrant ship at Bristol bound for the new world of the Americas, never to return and was given the name by his father to assist him in a foreign land if he ever met up with another person from Falmouth. Kearney is a common surname in England which has many more Kearneys that Ireland. For those doubters who say Kearney is pronounced Carney or vice versa, yes and Obama is really Osama and O'Gara is O'Bama. 
The facts are that the Moneygall parish register records the name Carney and not Kearney regardless of the similar sound of the names. To twist the spelling to suit the fiction that Barack Obama has Irish ancestry is fanciful and fictional.
Anybody who has experience of tracing old family or property records will know how tedious it is and how easy it would be if one could make such wild assumptions as has happened in this case. Trying to establish who was who five six seven or eight generations back is pure guesswork in this case and the amazing thing is that a section of the Irish people were taken in by it. The whole Obama Irish connection hinged on that altered record. It is clearly a fraud having being altered by persons unknown who wanted to make the link giving Obama an Irish heritage to capture the Irish votes in the US and pretending that his ancestor had been forced to leave his homeland because of the famine in Ireland.
Naturally President Obama was delighted that the Irish media had accepted that he was one of them and he joined the party to give credence to the lie that he was Irish. The Moneygall men were going to cash in on a piece of fiction that was born in their pub and developed into a self serving reality to put them on the map. Obama responded by pretending that he was indeed Irish and that Henry Healy was indeed his cousin eight times removed. Healy's conviction that he was related to Falmouth Kearney helped Obama to join in the pretense and he came to Ireland and to Moneygall and played out the part of a long lost cousin of the emigrant Falmouth Kearney.
