Erdogan’s secret 'Islamist' army is a 'deadly' threat to NATO.
Erdogan’s secret 'Islamist' army is a 'deadly' threat to NATO. (Turkish Minute).
The repressive regime of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been secretly building a paramilitary force with the help of retired Islamist and neo-nationalist generals since 2011 using Libyan and Syrian theatres for drills.
An orchestrated failed coup attempt on July 15 gave Erdoğan a fresh mandate to turn over the helm of the NATO alliance’s second largest army to this paramilitary group, with many distinguished officers including four-star generals purged without due process or investigation and replaced with partisans.
But more importantly, Erdoğan orchestrated a change that went largely unnoticed amid massive purges that have so far amounted over 100,000 from the military and branches of government. The change was buried in a government decree dated Oct. 31, 2016 that included a long list of dismissals and many changes. It said “retired officers and non commissioned officers are tasked with involvement in the recruitment of military personnel and cadets to the Turkish Armed Forces [TSK] until 2020.” This critical change effectively gives the entire personnel policy of the Turkish army to retired military men whose allegiance lies with the personality cult of the country’s top Islamist.
The man who runs Erdoğan’s private army, called Sadat, which has been training militant Islamist rebels who are fighting in Libya and Syria, is Adnan Tanrıverdi, a retired lieutenant general who was given the official position of chief military advisor to the president in August, a month after the failed coup. He is the point man who will reshape NATO’s largest army after the US by steering recruitment policy until 2020. Tanrıverdi is known for his Islamist ideology and has counseled Erdoğan for years although in an unofficial capacity.
Last but not the least, the Syrian operation by Turkey-backed rebels is effectively run by Sadat, whose headquarters are now located in Erdoğan’s palace. The orders and targeting are provided to the Turkish military by Sadat people, who have only one vested interest, which is to help Erdoğan fulfill his caliphate-style ambitions in the region. Even if the top brass may be unwilling to proceed on some of Erdoğan’s orders, that would not matter much given the fact that Erdoğan has already placed loyalists in field command positions to bypass the chain of command.
As a result, if Erdoğan’s vision succeeds, NATO’s second largest army will soon turn into an Islamist bastion that will breed religious zealots just like the Grand Ayatollah’s Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC). This is a clear and present danger to the NATO military alliance. Hmmm......And he has a Fifth column army of followers all over the EU. Read the full story here.

Report: Turkey's 'Stasi' apparatus menacing 'German Turks'.
Report: Turkey's 'Stasi' apparatus menacing 'German Turks'. (DW).
The Sunday edition of "Die Welt" said Bundestag intelligence oversight committee members were demanding answers from Chancellor Angela Merkel's government on MIT activities in Germany in the wake of Turkey's failed 15 July coup.
Ankara had 6,000 informants of its Milli Istihbarat Teskilati (MIT) national intelligence agency in Germany who were putting pressure on "German Turks," the newspaper claimed.
Some 3.7 million of Germany's 81-million population are either German nationals of Turkish origin or Turks who reside long-term in the Federal Republic. Their diverse organizations are planning or have staged rallies, including one in support of strongman Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan .
Veteran opposition Greens parliamentarian Hans-Christian Ströbele told the "Die Welt am Sonntag" that there was an "unbelievable" level of "secret activities" in Germany by Turkey's MIT agency, which in English calls itself the National Intelligence Organization.
"Welt am Sonntag" quoted an unnamed "security politician" as saying that the MIT had at its disposition a "large number" of regular agents in Germany, as well as a network of 6,000 informants - far more than previously known.
That meant one MIT informant for every 500 citizens of Turkish origin, according to the unnamed politician quoted by the newspaper.
German intelligence service expert observer Erich Schmidt-Eenboom said MIT's surveillance reach in post-reunification Germany was "enormous."
"For many Turks national pride is so strongly pronounced that they regard it as an honor to be allowed to work for MIT," he said.
Not even the former communist East German Stasi secret police had managed to run such a large "army of agents" in the former West Germany, Schmidt-Eenboom said.
"Here, it's not just about intelligence gathering, but increasingly about intelligence service repression," he said, adding that Germany should not allow such behavior by a NATO partner. Hmmmm.....Intelligence gathering or......Fifth Column of a hostile state? Read the full story here.

'Islamist' Turkish member of the Belgian parliament was expelled for denial of Armenian genocide.
'Islamist' Turkish member of the Belgian parliament was expelled for denial of Armenian genocide. (Bugun).
A Turkish member of the Belgian parliament was expelled from her political party on Friday for not recognizing the 1915 events concerning Armenians.Mahinur Özdemir, who is the first woman with a headscarf to become member of the Belgian parliament, said that she refused to recognize the 1915 events as “genocide” and was later expelled by a committee from her party, the Humanist Democratic Centre (CHD).
President of the CHD, Benoit Lutgen, said last week that any member of the CHD who denied what he called ‘the Armenian genocide’ would be expelled from the party.
Özdemir, who did not attend a standing ovation to commemorate the 1915 events, said there is no court order that enforces one to recognize the events concerning Armenians and that the European Parliament’s resolution in April for recognition of the 1915 events is not binding.
Özdemir said that CHD President Lutgen wanted her to sign a communique recognizing the 1915 events and told her she would be expelled from the party if she refused.
She said her response to Lutgen was: "I stand by my opinions on this issue. I will not give up. I stand upright [for the right to] freedom of expression."
"Unfortunately the Humanist Democratic Centre [Party] took a decision which is incompatible with humanism and democracy, and proved it does not harbor Europe’s fundamental value of freedom of expression," Özdemir said.
Turkish nationals in Belgium say they experience rising intolerance against a different view of what happened in 1915.
In a rally event called "Listen to me also", around 3,000 Turkish nationals gathered in Brussels last week and protested the notion that parliamentarians from various countries -- rather than historians -- have voted to determine what is or what is not a genocide, in this case concerning the Armenian deaths in 1915. Hmmmm....Caesar: "Horum omnium fortissimi sunt Belgae" ....about time they grew a pair and made their ancesters proud.

ISIS group threatens Canadians: ‘You will not feel secure even in your bedrooms’(theStar) HT: Blazingcatfur.
A spokesman for the Islamic State militant group makes three angry mentions of Canada as he calls on Muslims worldwide to kill civilians of nations that join the fight.
In a rambling audio message released late Sunday, Islamic State group spokesman Abu Mohammed al-Adnani says U.S. President Barack Obama's coalition will not be able to defeat the jihadis.
He talked of bringing war into the homes of Canadians, French and Australians, as their countries are allies of the hated Americans and Jewish people, whom he repeatedly demonizes.
“If you kill a disbelieving American or European – especially the spiteful and filthy French – or an Australian, or a Canadian, or any other disbeliever from the disbelievers waging war, including the citizens of the countries that entered into a coalition against the Islamic State, then rely upon Allah, and kill him I any manner or way however it may be,” said al-Adnani.
At some points, he directly threatened Canadians and others he considers the enemy.
“You will pay the price as you are afraid of travelling to any land,” al-Adnani said. “Rather you will pay the price as you walk on your streets, turning right and left, fearing the Muslims. You will not feel secure even in your bedrooms. You will pay the price when this crusade of yours collapses, and thereafter we will strike you in your homeland, and you will never be able to harm anyone afterwards.”
The translated transcript of al-Adnani’s 42-minute audio message is 13 pages long. Hmmm....Please come In Winter :) Read the full story here.
