General Officer Announcement
Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced today that the President has made the following nomination:
Air Force Maj. Gen. William J. Bender for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as chief, Information Dominance; and chief information officer, Office of the Secretary of the Air Force, Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.
Bender is currently serving as deputy chief, Office of Security Cooperation-Iraq, Baghdad, Iraq.
