Turkish Police intell issue ISIS alert for 81 cities, mentions explosive cars and suicide bombers.(Turkafile).
Taraf daily reports on its front page today that the National Police Dept. has issued an ISIS alert to police across the entire country.
According to the opposition daily, in the warning sent out to police departments in 81 cities, it was stated that the Islamic extremists may have formed "action units" in Turkey’s major cities.
The news report also stated that "intelligence" was received that ISIS has "22 vehicles with bombs, mostly pick-up trucks" and that security precautions have been stepped up in response, especially in large cities.
According to Taraf, the warning on ISIS came from the head of police intelligence, and included information that said "ISIS is trying to be effective in the mosques", adding that the group "may have generated action units" in the form of cells stationed in big cities. The news report states that the police intel warning says "these units might be used as elements of threat against the government’s policies on ISIS".
Taraf also highlights that security measures were increased after information was received on "30 militants who might act as suicide bombers" as being present in Turkey. Hmmm.....Tourism Turkey being hit in 3....2....1.
