The Syrian army has begun deploying advanced surface-to-surface missiles and has aimed them at Tel Aviv, the British Sunday Times reports.

According to the report, Syria is preparing to strike Israel in case the Jewish State launches another attack on its territory.The army has received orders to strike central Israel in case additional attacks against Syria are carried out, according to the Sunday Times.

The information was reportedly obtained by reconnaissance satellites that were tracking the Syrian forces. According to the report, Syria was deploying advanced Tishreen missiles, which are capable of carrying a warhead of a half a ton.

On Saturday, Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad told an Argentinean newspaper that Israel is assisting the rebels fighting to topple his regime.“Israel is directly supporting the terrorist groups in two ways,” he said. “Firstly it gives them logistical support, and it also tells them what sites to attack and how to attack them."

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehi, told the German Der Spiegel last week that Assad was unimpressed by recent alleged Israeli airstrikes in Damascus and plans to retaliate the next time such a strike takes place.

Syria’s Information Minister, Omran al-Zoubi, recently warned Israel that his country had a right to launch an operation against the Jewish State from the Golan Heights.Al-Zoubi said that Israel committed an aggression against Syria recently by raiding military sites near Damascus. With these acts, he said, Israel violated international commitments.

"Accordingly, Syria has the right at this time and at any other time to deal with the Golan issue in the way the owner has the right to deal with his property, because the Golan is and has always been a Syrian Arab land," he said.

The Syrian opposition, meanwhile, has accused Israel of collaborating with Iran and Hizbullah to keep Assad in power.

A commander in the Syrian opposition told a Turkish news agency that “Iran and Hizbullah are cooperating with Israel to be able to support Assad,” because the Syrian president “has protected Israel's border for 40 years.”Read the full story here.

Video - 'This is a match made in hell'.HT: WMD.Earlier this month, North Korea conducted what appears to be its largest and most sophisticated nuclear test to date, but what may also be emerging from the story is the extent that Iran and North Korea are colluding in their efforts to grow their nuclear programs.
One of the most telling indicators of this collaboration may be the reported presence of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh Mahabadi at the North Korean test. Mahabadi is the chief Iranian nuclear scientist and rarely travels outside of Iran.
That prospect is very troubling to foreign-policy expert and accomplished fiction and nonfiction author Joel C. Rosenberg. He is the author of “The Twelfth Imam” trilogy. The final installment of the trilogy, “Damascus Countdown,” debuts March 5.

“That is further, I would say confirmation, but certainly raises further concern that North Korea is actually doing the testing for Iran. In other words, Iran would essentially be paying for North Korea to be its research and development system, both for ballistic missiles but also for warheads,” Rosenberg told WND. 

“So Iran might be assembling a bomb right now. We don’t know that for sure. North Korea might be providing the data for how to test it and make sure that it works. This convergence, this collaboration, between Iran and North Korea is exceedingly dangerous for the United States but also clearly for Israel and for the rest of the Middle East.”

Rosenberg said his analysis is far from speculation, and the cozy nuclear relationship between Iran and North Korea is well documented.
“North Korea and Iran are working very, very closely. They have been for years. In fact, they even signed an agreement, a treaty back in 2011 to work on nuclear issues between North Korea and Iran,” Rosenberg said.

“North Korea is starving for cash, but it has nuclear technology and has already tested nuclear weapons several times,” he said. “Iran has plenty of cash, not the people but the government. It’s starving for hard data of what a nuclear test looks like without inviting an American or Israeli airstrike before Iran can get its weapons built and ready to launch. Following are excerpts from an interview with Hizbullah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah, which aired on Al-Mayadeen TV and was also broadcast on Al-Manar TV on September 3, 2012.

Hassan Nasrallah: If the Israelis behave as if there are no limits to aggression, we too will have no limits. Obviously, anyone could show up tomorrow and claim that Hizbullah has... We do not possess chemical weapons, and we will not use chemical weapons. The use of chemical weapons is prohibited. It is out of the question as far as we are concerned. But in any case, I don’t need chemical weapons, regardless of either the religious or practical aspects. [Israel] has factories, bases, and compounds, while I have missiles. My missiles counterbalance all of this.

Hassan Nasrallah: All options will be available for us. All the options are on the table. Perhaps we will not confine ourselves to defense.
Once, when Barak, the Israeli war minister, said to his soldiers: prepare to enter Lebanon. The day may come when we return to Lebanon" – I said to the mujahideen: "Prepare, the day may come when we enter the Galilee."

That still stands.

Iran will not tolerate an attack on its nuclear facilities. The response will not be limited to the Israeli entity. The US military bases in the entire region may serve as targets for the Iranians.

Hassan Nasrallah: America will be held accountable for this.

Jihad WatchFebruary 2, 2012.How many are the lies that Egypt's military regime has forwarded concerning its role in attacking and killing Egyptian demonstrators since it usurped power a year ago?
There were, for instance, the lies concerning the Maspero massacre, where the military slaughtered Christian Copts who were protesting the constant attacks on their churches.
Despite all the video evidence that the military ran armored-vehicles over Copts [apparently now removed by YouTube], the military regime insisted that it would "never, never" run over civilians; that the very idea was "impossible, impossible!" It even showed a video of a military-vehicle running amuck, claiming it was hijacked by Coptic protesters (it was later revealed that an Egyptian soldier was, in fact, inside driving).
More recently, Mohamad Tantawi, the head of the military—and de facto head of Egypt—said that the widely circulated video of soldiers beating, stripping, and kicking a female protester is "entirely fake"—a ludicrous assertion, even if Jimmy Carter supports it.
Who is the latest victim to be scapegoated for the military's crimes against its own citizenry? None other than the U.S.A.Ongoing accusations that American officials were involved in killing Egyptian civilians have prompted the U.S. Embassy in Cairo to deny it through a January 27 press release:

As we have stated in previous press releases, there is absolutely no truth to reports that U.S. embassy employees or diplomats were involved in hit-and-run incidents using U.S. diplomatic vehicles, injuring or killing protestors in January 2011 in Cairo. There is also no truth to statements alleging that the keys inside U.S. diplomatic vehicles are coded and can only be used by U.S. Embassy employees. On January 28, 2011, however, a number of our U.S. Embassy vehicles were stolen. After these vehicles were stolen, we heard reports of their use in violent and criminal acts. If true, we deplore these acts and the perpetrators. Egyptian authorities have conducted an investigation that has led to the recovery of some of these stolen vehicles.

Who is behind these accusations? The military? As mentioned, it did make similar accusations against Coptic protesters, saying they hijacked and manned the military-vehicles that ran over fellow Copts at Maspero—only to be exposed as lying by Al Dalil.
While it is not altogether clear who is behind these accusations—this report indicates a lawyer of a former Egyptian official being tried, while older reports mention "communiqués"—it is, of course, the military regime that stands to gain by this latest case of blaming the other.
