Israeli Minister Hanegbi: 'The Bible — not Google — gives Israel moral right to land.

Israeli Minister Hanegbi: 'The Bible — not Google — gives Israel moral right to land.'(Jpost).

Israel’s moral claim to land comes from the Bible, not Google, Communications Minister Tzachi Hanegbi said in Washington on Tuesday at an event held in support of placing West Bank settlements within final borders of the Jewish state.

“Defense is important and security is important, but the most important thing is the moral claim of Israel. We are committed to go forward with living in our ancient land, land that was given us not by Google and Wikipedia, but by the Bible,” he said.

The event Hanegbi spoke at was hosted by the Council of Jewish Communities of Judea and Samaria to mark the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Six Day War, titled “Celebrate 50 Years of Rejuvenation in Judea and Samaria.” It was purposely held near the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s annual policy conference to attract those in attendance there.

This was the first time the council held an event in Washington concurrent with the AIPAC conference to specifically target those attendees, as part of its growing focus on soliciting support abroad for the settlements, both in the United States and the European Union.

Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely said there were three quick arguments for placing Area C of the West Bank within Israel’s borders, all of which centered around the word “just,” and then mentioned Israel’s victory in the Six Day War.

It was a just war. It is a just defense. But the most important one, it was based on a just claim.

A just claim of the Jewish people on [the Biblical areas of] Beit El, Shechem, Jerusalem and Hebron,” she said.

“Let me tell you something, if those places are not Jewish, who can tell me that [the modern cities of] Herzliya, Rehovot, Rishon Lezion and Tel Aviv are Jewish,” Hotovely said. “I always say that the occupation is a myth, because we never occupied other people’s land. This is Jewish land [Judea and Samaria]. This should forever be a Jewish land under Israeli law.” Read the full story here.

Saudi Journalist: Iran – Not Israel – Is The Gulf States' No. 1 Enemy.

Saudi Journalist: Iran – Not Israel – Is The Gulf States' No. 1 Enemy. (Memri).

On March 8, 2016, Saudi journalist Muhammad Aal Al-Sheikh wrote in his column in the Saudi daily Al-Jazirah that today, Iran is the No. 1 enemy of Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries, supplanting the historical enemy Israel. Any citizen of the Gulf who disagrees with this assessment, he added, is a traitor.

Arguing that Iran is exploiting the Palestinian issue as a pretext for "infiltrating deep into the Arab world, shredding its Arab fabric, and dragging Arab society into supporting its expansionary plan," he emphasized that the Palestinians should expect no salvation from Iran. He also warned the Gulf Shi'ites that they were mere pawns for Iran, which was using them to promote Persian national aspirations.

"The Persian enemy is Enemy No. 1, and the Zionist enemy is [only] Enemy No. 2. We must present this truth directly, flattering no one, to all those [who try] to extort us with the tale that Israel is the Arabs' Enemy No. 1 and that Iran supports us on the Palestinian issue. This tale could still be true vis-à-vis the Arabs to the north [of the Arabian Peninsula], and in Egypt, because Israel threatens [Egypt] and its security and stability. But as for the [Saudi] kingdom and the Gulf states, it is Iran, not Israel, that tops the list of the enemies and the dangers that lie in wait for us, face us and threaten us.

Iran is exploiting the issue of the Palestinians and the liberation [of Palestine] as a pretext for infiltrating deep into the Arab [world], shredding its Arab fabric, and dragging Arab [society] into supporting its expansionary plan.

"It is true that the Palestinian issue has throughout history been the No. 1 Arab cause, and liberating Jerusalem from the yoke of the Israeli occupation has doubtless been the No. 1 issue for us, with nothing more important. However, at this time, and in light of the Persian ambition that the extremist Muslim Iranian government is backing with all its resources and for which it is mobilizing all its forces and capabilities, the Persian enemy takes priority – and must take priority – over the Israeli danger.
"I do not think that any reasonable Gulf resident would consider the danger [posed by] the Zionist enemy to be greater than [that posed by] the Persian enemy. The Palestinians, Lebanese, and Syrians, whose land is wholly or partially occupied by Israel, are expecting us – for whatever reasons and excuses – to be courteous towards them and to prioritize the Israeli danger over that posed by the Persian enemy. They are delusional.
"Moreover, let me say this bluntly: Any citizen of any of the five Gulf states who prioritizes the Israeli danger over that of the Persian enemy, whether from a pan-Arab or an Islamist perspective, is sacrificing his homeland, its security, its stability and perhaps its very existence for his neighbor's cause. By any national standard, this is absolute treason.

"This issue has to do with our very existence, and there is no bargaining over it or dismissing or neglecting it. It is a matter on which the Gulf residents, whether Sunni or Shi'ite, agree equally. I know that for a minority among the ordinary Gulf Shi'ites, sectarian affiliation is the most important factor, and they place it above national affiliation. To them I say: The Persians have no interest in sect or even in religion. What really interests them is utilizing [your] sectarian [affiliation] as a lure to mobilize you against your homeland, as a fifth column.Read the full story here.

Israel, EU Begin Talks to End Crisis over EU's Labeling of Settlement Products.

Israel, EU Begin Talks to End Crisis Sparked by EU's Labeling of Settlement Products. (Haaretz).

Israeli official says labeling of settlement products was 'unilateral and adopted Palestinian narrative – that's no way to conduct respectful dialogue.'

Israel and the European Union have begun quiet talks toward resolution of the crisis growing out of the European Union’s decision to label products made in the settlements in European marketing chains, and to restart discussion on the Palestinian issue, which was halted by Israel three months ago.

Officials in Jerusalem said Israel and the EU are working toward reaching understandings that would include mutual steps to bring the relationship back on track.  Read the full story here.

H&M Under Fire, Ridicule for Selling Scarf Strangely Similar to a Tallis.

H&M Under Fire, Ridicule for Selling Scarf Strangely Similar to a Tallis.(Matzav).

Swedish international apparel chain H&M received mixed reviews on social media for offering a scarf for purchase that looks like a tallis.

The scarf, which sells on H&M’s website for $17.99 and was first highlighted by fashion blog Racked.com, has the same color scheme and pattern as a tallis. It even has “fringe at the short ends,” appearing strangely similar to tzitzis.

While some Twitter users marveled at the resemblance between the scarf and a tallis, others, the Algemeiner reports, were outraged, including one individual who wrote: “I’m not Jewish, but think it’s wrong to use an item of religious dress as a fashion statement.

A different Twitter user said: “A lot of non Jews are going to be attacked for wearing it. Maybe they’ll understand what we go through.”

Another noted the irony of a Swedish retailer selling a scarf that resembles a tallis because “a Jew cannot walk in Sweden with a tallit (or a kippah) without risking himself.”

Others found the likeness humorous. One commented: “That is awesome. Is there a tekhelet option?” — referring to techeiles, the blue dye used for tzitzis, while another said, “lmaooo that great, I’ll finally be able to daven fashionably.” Hmmm..........It's not OK to make fun of Islam but it's OK to make fun of Judaism? No religion should be denigrated

Report: American Airlines Dropped Israel Due To Alliance With Arab Carriers.

Report: American Airlines Dropped Israel Due To Alliance With Arab Carriers. (Matzav).

Aviation industry sources claim that the recent American Airlines decision to cease flights to Israel is the result of the U.S. carrier’s ties with Arab airlines.

The airline had announced that it would stop its flights from Philadelphia to Tel Aviv beginning in January 2016 due to financial considerations.

Casey Norton, a spokesman for American Airlines, told Bloomberg News that the carrier has lost $20 million last year on the route alone.

But aviation sources told the Israeli newspaper Haaretz that the actual reason for the route’s impending closure is the airline’s participation in the OneWorld alliance, whose members include Arab airlines like Qatar Airways and Royal Jordanian as well as Malaysia Airlines (Malaysia is a Muslim-majority nation).

Profitability wasn’t a problem. The past year hasn’t been easy for the airline industry in general, but that’s far from saying that the route wasn’t profitable. No one would have operated a money-losing route for so many years,” an anonymous industry source said, Haaretz reported.

‘New York Post’ Slams Senator Schumer for Failing to Take Iran Deal Stance.

‘New York Post’ Slams Senator Schumer for Failing to Take Iran Deal Stance. (Algemeiner).

The New York Post inveighed against Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for failing to take a strong stance against the Obama administration’s Iran nuclear deal — actually for refusing to take any stance whatsoever.

The Post said it had sent Schumer a list of 10 crucial questions over the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, and one of its reporters had asked him for a follow-up.
“I’m studying the issue,” Schumer reportedly responded.
“There’s nothing to study: Just nix the deal, Chuck,” the Post’s editors said. “Iran can’t be trusted with any deal, period — let alone one that explicitly limits efforts to ensure Tehran isn’t working to get nuclear bombs.”

The Post also reported Schumer has been getting the “cold shoulder” from the pro-Israel crowd.

He is in a bind because he wants President Barack Obama’s approval to replace Harry Reid as the Democratic leader, but “his key supporters all want him to quash the terrible Iran giveaway deal,” the report said.

The reports came after thousands — demonstration organizers said as many as 10,000 — thronged seven Manhattan blocks around Times Square on Wednesday to rally for Congress’ rejection of the Obama administration’s deal with Iran, which the White House says cuts of Iran’s pathways to a nuclear bomb by at least 10 years.

For Schumer, a traditionally strong pro-Israel advocate whose influence could sway other Democrats, the pressure is certainly on. Hmmmm.....Dems are not faithful to the party but to 'dear leader' Hussein Obama. Read the full story here at The Algemeiner

EU[Rabia] foreign policy chief to visit Tehran.

EU[Rabia] foreign policy chief to visit Tehran. (Taz).

The EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini is scheduled to visit Tehran on July 28, the European Commission reported. She will meet Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif and other senior officials during her one-day visit.

The visit comes following the Iran-P5+1 (the US, UK, France, Russia, China , and Germany ) historic deal on Tehran’s nuclear program on July 14.

Mogherini follows on from German Vice Chancellor Sigmar Gabriel’s visit to Iran last week, the first senior figure from the EU to visit the country since the deal.

Gabriel arrived in Tehran on July 19 to discuss Iran-Germany economic ties in post-sanctions period. He met senior Iranian officials including President Rouhani as well as Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh and Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian during his three-day visit.

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius also will pay an official visit to Tehran on July 29. Other high-ranking European officials are due to travel Tehran soon. EU[Rabia]'s Mogherini’s Iran trip encourages more executions.

EU[Rabia]'s Mogherini’s Iran trip encourages more executions. (NCRI).

The Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran reiterates that the upcoming trip to Iran by Ms. Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, and meetings with leaders of the ruling religious fascism encourage this regime to continue torture and executions.

It urges all supporters of human rights, women’s rights and democracy to take urgent action for the cancellation of this trip. This and other trips to Iran under the mullahs’ rule run counter to the national interest of the Iranian people and their determination to overthrow this regime and establish democracy and popular rule in Iran.
Ms. Mogherini plans to meet with those responsible for 120,000 political executions and the massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in the summer of 1988.
Amnesty International in a press release on July 23 wrote that in the first half of 2015 at least 694 prisoners have been executed in Iran, adding: “Iran’s staggering execution toll for the first half of this year paints a sinister picture of the machinery of the state carrying out premeditated, judicially-sanctioned killings on a mass scale. ... We are likely to see more than 1,000 state-sanctioned deaths by the year’s end.”

Ms. Mogherini will be meeting in Tehran with those bearing chief responsibility for the export of terrorism and fundamentalism and the massacre of the innocent peoples of Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Lebanon. These officials should be tried for crimes against humanity for their crimes both inside Iran and abroad.

In the nine months that Ms. Mogherini has taken the helm in Schuman Square, some 1,000 prisoners have been executed in Iran, women have faced the most severe pressures, and religious and ethnic minorities have faced extensive repression and discrimination; however, Ms. Mogherini has refrained from uttering even a verbal condemnation of these daily atrocities. This is disgraceful for the European Union whose very foundation is based on countering fascism and supporting democracy and human rights.

While every day hundreds of Iranian women are arrested, fined and flogged by the agents of the regime on the bogus charge of ‘mal-veiling’, Ms. Mogherini plans to please the mullahs and obey their instructions by wearing a veil in her meetings with human rights criminals such as Hassan Rouhani, Ali Akbar Rafsanjani, Javad Zarif and Ali Larijani. Ms. Mogherini’s action is a blatant insult to all Iranian women.

The NCRI Foreign Affairs Committee strongly condemns this trip and urges Ms. Mogherini not to put salt on the Iranian people’s wounds, even if she refuses to doing anything to ease their pain and suffering.

The Iranian people, in particular the women, youth, political prisoners, and the families of those who have been executed, expect human rights and women’s rights defenders in Europe and particularly in Italy to take action to halt this visit which is considered as a dagger to the heart of democracy and human rights. Hmmmm.....I said it many times before the EU politicians would sell their whole family for financial gain and cheap gas.....'What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?' - Matthew 16:26.

"Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira" - 130 French Jews Arrive in Israel; 3,000 Expected this Summer.

"Ah! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira" - 130 French Jews Arrive in Israel; 3,000 Expected this Summer. HT: IMRA.

More than 3,000 Expected This Summer. Additionally, 80 French Jews in Israel on Tourist Visas Become Israeli Citizens

The Jewish Agency for Israel & Ministry of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption

JERUSALEM - Some 130 French Jews, including 46 children and two babies, landed at Ben-Gurion International Airport yesterday (Monday, June 29), marking the start of a wave of French Aliyah (immigration) expected over the course of the summer. Additionally, some 80 French Jews who had been in Israel on tourist visas became Israeli citizens and received their Israeli identity cards during a ceremony hosted by The Jewish Agency for Israel at the organization's Jerusalem headquarters building earlier today (Tuesday, June 30).

According to data compiled by The Jewish Agency and the Ministry of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption, more than 3,000 French Jews will immigrate to Israel this summer, including many young families whose children will enter Israeli schools at the start of the new school year. Some 400 French Jewish immigrants are expected to arrive by the end of this week alone.

The current wave of French Aliyah comes in the midst of a joint effort by the Ministry and The Jewish Agency to maintain the high rate of immigration from France and increase Aliyah from around the world. Aliyah from France has risen steeply in recent years and France has become the number one source of immigration to Israel for the first time.

In light of the heinous terror attack in France this past weekend and as the wave of anti-Semitism continues, Minister of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption Ze'ev Elkin called on French Jews to immigrate to Israel.

"We welcome the immigrants who arrived in Israel last night. Every plane that arrives in Israel strengthens Israel and strengthens the French Jews who have come home," said Elkin. "As anti-Semitism increases, terrorism surges, and sick ISIS operatives carry out murders In broad daylight, Jews around the world know that they have a country and a family to return to. We welcome you with open arms. According to all forecasts, this is just the beginning of an unprecedented wave of Aliyah from France, and I am very pleased that the Ministry of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption offices at Ben-Gurion Airport will be working overtime this summer."

Jewish Agency data shows that French Jews' interest in immigrating to Israel remains strong and is reflected in increasing numbers of French Jews participating in Aliyah information sessions across France, contacting Jewish Agency offices for information, and beginning the formal Aliyah process.

"Over the past two years, The Jewish Agency for Israel has increased its activities in Europe in response to European Jews' growing interest in Aliyah," said Chairman of the Executive of The Jewish Agency for Israel Natan Sharansky, who attended today's ceremony and presented new French Jewish immigrants with their Israeli identity cards.

"We are seeing an unprecedented wave of Aliyah from European countries, which indicates not only how Europe is becoming an uncomfortable place for Jews, 'but even more importantly' the extent to which Israel is becoming a magnet for Jews interested in a meaningful Jewish life, in freedom, personal security, and a sense of belonging to a country that is integral to the future of the Jewish people."

Israeli Navy Takes Over Flotilla Ship Without Incident

Israeli Navy Takes Over Flotilla Ship Without Incident. (Matzav).

IDF naval fighters early on Monday morning boarded the Swedish ship Marianne that was taking part in the latest flotilla trying to violate Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza.

The troops took control of the ship and will take it to the Ashdod Port where its contents will be inspected.

The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said the takeover process was short and there were no injuries on either side.

Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu issued the following statement this morning:
“I would like to commend the sailors and commanders of the Israel Navy for their determined and efficient action in detaining the passengers on the ship that tried to reach the Gaza coast in contravention of the law. This flotilla is nothing but a demonstration of hypocrisy and lies that is only assisting the Hamas terrorist organization and ignores all of the horrors in our region. Preventing entry by sea was done in accordance with international law and even received backing from a committee of the UN Secretary General.
“Israel is the only democracy that defends itself in accordance with international law. We are not prepared to accept the entry of war materiel to the terrorist organizations in Gaza as has been done by sea in the past. Just last year we foiled an attempt to smuggle by sea hundreds of weapons that were destined for use in attacks against Israel’s citizens.

There is no siege on Gaza. Israel assists in transferring goods and humanitarian equipment to Gaza – approximately 800 trucks a day that have recently brought into Gaza more than 1.6 million tons of goods. Moreover, Israel assists in hundreds of humanitarian projects, through international organizations, including the building of clinics and hospitals.

“Israel is a state that seeks peace and acts in accordance with international law so that the residents of Gaza might have safe lives and their children may grow up in peace and quiet.”

The following is a copy of the letter that was issued:

Welcome to Israel,

You seem to have gotten lost. Perhaps you meant to sail to a place not far from here – Syria, where Assad’s army is slaughtering its people every day, and is supported by the murderous Iranian regime.

Here in Israel we face a reality in which terrorist organizations like Hamas try to kill innocent civilians. We defend our citizens against these attempts in accordance with international law.

Despite this, Israel transports goods and humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip – up to 800 trucks a day. In the past year we enabled the entry of over 1.6 million tons of products, an average of one ton per person in the Gaza Strip. By the way, these supplies are equivalent to 500,000 boats like the one you came in on today.

Israel provides assistance to hundreds of humanitarian projects through international organizations, including the building of clinics and hospitals.

However, we will not allow the terrorist organizations to transfer weapons into the Gaza Strip by sea. Only one year ago, we thwarted an attempt to smuggle hundreds of weapons into the Gaza Strip by ship. These weapons were meant to target innocent Israeli civilians.

There is no siege on the Gaza Strip, and you are welcome to transfer any humanitarian supplies for the Gaza Strip through Israel.

Barring the entrance of boats and ships into the Gaza Strip is in accordance with international law, and was even backed by a committee commissioned by the United Nations Secretary General.

If you were truly concerned about human rights, you would not be sailing in support of a terrorist regime which summarily executes citizens in the Gaza Strip, and uses children as human shields.

If you were to travel around in Israel, you would see for yourself that the only stable democracy in the Middle East guarantees equality for all its citizens and freedom of worship for members of all religions; it is a country that upholds international law so that its people can live in safety and its children grow up in peace and quiet.

IDF has been instructed to stop the pro-Palestinian flotilla.

Israeli army preparing to block another Gaza flotilla. (TOI).

The Israeli military is monitoring a blockade-busting flotilla on its way to the Gaza Strip and is preparing to block it if need be, Channel 2 news reported Sunday night.

The convoy, consisting of several small vessels, was expected to sail from Greece to Gaza in the coming days, carrying humanitarian supplies for the Hamas-controlled enclave.

Jewish Home leader and Education Minister Naftali Bennett said Sunday night the flotilla was another indication of the failure of the 2005 Israeli pullout from Gaza, saying in a statement: “Ten years after the disengagement rockets are fired at our children from [the evacuated settlements of] Gush Katif, tunnels are dug towards our communities from Gaza and terror flotillas are sent to our shores from Turkey…we evacuated Jews and got flotillas in return.”

The Marianne of Gothenburg, a Scandinavian fishing boat, traveled from Sweden through the waters of Norway, Germany, France, Spain and Portugal before reaching Messina, Italy, last week. The boat was making its way to Crete, Greece, on Sunday, before attempting to breach the blockade and reach Gaza. Along the way it was to meet up with at least two other boats that make up the flotilla.

The activists say the vessels are carrying a cargo of solar panels and medical supplies for Gaza residents, who are still recovering from last summer’s conflict, and expect to reach the Strip by the end of the month, unless they are intercepted.

An Israeli-Arab Knesset member caused an uproar in parliament Sunday when he announced intentions to join the flotilla. Politicians from both the left and right condemned MK Basel Ghattas of the Joint (Arab) List, who sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon telling them of his plan.

Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely (Likud) criticized Ghattas for abusing the immunity he enjoys as a member of the Israeli parliament.

“It indicates he is serving the enemy under parliamentary immunity,” she said. “In contrast to the picture that the Palestinians are trying to paint, Israel allows goods, food, and construction materials into Gaza. The flotilla is the fruit of the efforts of provocateurs who only want to blacken Israel’s name.”

The Zionist Union party slammed Ghattas for disguising a political statement as a relief effort.

Ghattas urged Israeli leaders to let the boats reach the Palestinian coastal enclave — or face international backlash. Read the full story here.

Abbas says Palestinian govt to resign within 24 hours - reports.

Abbas says Palestinian govt to resign within 24 hours - reports. (RT).

The Palestinian government is to be dissolved within 24 hours, AFP reports, quoting a statement made by President Mahmoud Abbas. The government's spokesman, however, denies any such discussion of dissolution.

"Within 24 hours the Palestinian government will resign," Abbas told members of the Revolutionary Council of his Fatah movement in Ramallah, AFP reports, citing several officials present at the meeting.

The reason for the resignation is the government's inability to act in the Gaza strip, AFP reported earlier in the day citing senior officials with the Palestinian Authority.

“This one [government] is weak and there is no chance that Hamas will allow it to work in Gaza,” said Amin Maqbul, secretary general of the ruling Fatah movement's Revolutionary Council, according to AFP.

While Maqbul is quoted as saying that a new government will be formed within 24 hours, another source, an unnamed attendee of the 15th Revolutionary Council conference quoted by the Maan news agency claims it could take several days.

However, the issue was not discussed at the latest meeting of the collective Hamas-Fatah government, according to government spokesman Ihab Bseiso, AFP reports.

The current government was forged by the rival Palestinian movements Hamas and Fatah in June 2014, after a unity pact ended a violent split that began in 2007.

U.K. Neo Nazis plan to destroy Israeli flags and burn Talmud at London's Golders Green rally.

U.K. Neo Nazi Extremists plan to destroy Israeli flags and burn Talmud at London's Golders Green rally. (JC).

Neo-Nazis plan to destroy Israeli flags during a protest at the heart of the Jewish community next month.

Organisers of the July 4 demonstration in Golders Green, north-west London, have also urged supporters to attend a secret burning of the Talmud ahead of the event.

Joshua Bonehill-Paine, a white supremacist activist, wrote on his website on Monday that a “private ceremony” would be held to burn the religious texts “in recognition of its racist anti-white teachings”.

He said his group of nationalist demonstrators would hold further protests against the Jewish community in Finchley, Stamford Hill and other locations later in the summer.

The decision to destroy Israeli flags would be “in solidarity with those oppressed by the illegal state of Israel”, Bonehill-Paine wrote. “Activists are welcome to bring Israeli flags on July 4 as we will be destroying them in an act of opposition to Israel.

“This will be a show of solidarity by English people who recognise that Israel is a corrupt state which is responsible for horrific war crimes.

“To avoid prosecution we will not be burning flags, we will dismember them by hand.”

Jewish community representatives have repeatedly said they are not intimidated by the planned extremist demonstration.

Speaking at a meeting on Sunday attended by the police, Shomrim and delegates from more than 40 local synagogues, Community Security Trust representatives said they were “concerned and repelled” by the plans but not afraid.

CST has previously described Bonehill-Paine as “essentially a provocateur who has not shown the capacity to mobilise large numbers of people to attend far-right events”.

Justice Scalia mocks fellow Supremes’ ‘Mad Hatter’ ruling: Jerusalem-born Americans can’t put ‘Israel’ on passport.

Justice Scalia mocks fellow Supremes’ ‘Mad Hatter’ ruling: Jerusalem-born Americans can’t put ‘Israel’ on passport. (BPR).

In a ruling Justice Antonin Scalia called “worthy of the Mad Hatter,” the Supreme Court decided Monday that Americans born in Israel’s capital will not be allowed to say they were born in Israel at all.

The 6-3 decision struck down a 2002 law requiring “Israel” to be listed as the nation of origin on the passports of Jerusalem-born Americans. The ruling was based primarily on the opinion that only the executive branch, not Congress, has the power to recognize claims regarding sovereignty, according to a report in The Jerusalem Post. Justice Anthony Kennedy, who had been considered a swing vote on the issue, and generally conservative Justice Clarence Thomas joined the liberals on the bench in the majority ruling.

The administration had long argued that the law would undermine America’s ability to broker peace between Israel and Palestine, by demonstrating that America was “taking sides” on the issue of Jerusalem’s sovereignty.

Scalia called that reasoning “a leap worthy of the Mad Hatter,” and critics of the policy say the omission of Israel on official documentation is an implicit rebuke of Israel’s longstanding policy.

Israel has released no formal response to the court’s ruling, but the mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, had strong words for the Obama administration.

Just as Washington is the capital of the U.S., London is the capital of England, and Paris is the capital of France, Jerusalem was and will always be the capital of Israel,” he said, according to the Jerusalem Post. “But more than that, it’s the heart and soul of the Jewish nation.” Hmmm......So anyone born in Berlin during 1946 - 1989 wasn't born in Germany? Both Israel And Hamas Won’t Be Included On U.N. Children’s Rights Blacklist....no word on ISIS.(Matzav).

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has decided to leave both Israel and the Palestinian terror group Hamas off the list of countries and organizations that harm children, despite a recommendation by a U.N. official.

Nevertheless, in a report, Ban urged Israel “to take concrete and immediate steps, including by reviewing existing policies and practices, to protect children, to prevent the killing and maiming of children, and to respect the special protections afforded to schools and hospitals.”
In a report issued last month, the U.N. special representative of the secretary-general for children and armed conflict, Leila Zerrougui, recommended the blacklisting of the Israel Defense Forces for allegedly regularly causing harm to children. The designation would have placed the IDF in the same group as terrorist organizations such as Islamic State, Boko Haram, and the Taliban.

At the time, the Israeli Foreign Ministry called out the world body for hypocrisy.
“Israel-haters are threatening the United Nations and no one is complaining about them,” a senior Foreign Ministry official said. “It’s a scandal and it’s hypocrisy.

There are unfortunately a lot of situations in which children are killed in zones of conflict and yet no one dares put them on the list. Do you know how many kids the Saudis have killed while bombing Yemen? I want to see the U.N. secretary-general’s Algerian envoy dare to include Saudi Arabia on the list.”

HRW don't look now but ....your Antisemitic side is showing; HRW Asks U.N. to Put Israel on Child Rights Violators List.

ISIL Not mentioned but, HRW Asks U.N. to Put Israel on Child Rights Violators List.(Naharnet).

Human Rights Watch on Thursday urged U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon to add Israel to an annual "List of Shame" of children's rights violators, after more than 500 children were killed in the war in Gaza last year.

The U.S.-based rights group called on Ban to resist pressure from Israel and the United States to keep the Israeli Defense Forces off the list due to be released next week.

"Secretary General Ban can strengthen child protection in war by compiling his list based on facts, not political pressure," said Philippe Bolopion, crisis advocacy director at Human Rights Watch.

Human Rights Watch is also calling for the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas to be included as well as armed groups in Pakistan, Thailand and India for serious violations including attacks on schools and the recruitment of child soldiers.

The current list has 51 groups including Boko Haram and Islamic State as well as the armed forces from eight countries such as Syria, Yemen, the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan.
The 50-day conflict in Gaza last year killed 539 children, injured 2,956, and most Palestinians are now struggling with trauma and life-long disabilities, according to the U.N. children's agency, UNICEF. Hmmm......HRW don't look now but ....your Antisemitic side is showing.

Video - Antisemitism in France - Israeli Reporter Harassed in Paris

Video - Antisemitism in France - Israeli Reporter Harassed in Paris. (INN).

Reporting from Paris , journalist Miri Michaeli of 10 Israeli TV channel found herself surrounded by a group of young people ( whose accent suggests that they are from immigrant background ) and harassed because she is Jewish and from Israel.

Israeli Channel 10's reporter in France, Miri Michaeli, used her Facebook page Thursday to publish video documentation of an anti-Semitic assault she experienced in central Paris.

The incident occurred just as she was about to report on camera about the Germanwings passenger jet disaster in the Alps three weeks ago.

"I did not mean to upload this video,” she wrote. “It is not possible to understand what exactly happened there, in that short scene, and I do not look too good there, either. But after the report yesterday, which presented worrisome statistics about anti-Semitism in Europe, I received some questions from viewers and friends who thought that the media (and I, as part of it) are painting an exaggerated picture of the situation.

"It's true that if you walk down the streets of Paris, you may feel nothing,” Michaeli explained. "But if you don a kippah, wear a Magen David necklace or hold a microphone that says 'News 10' in Hebrew, it is reasonable to assume that sooner or later, you will realize that the situation is worse than what the statistics indicate. These remarks do not enter the statistics, and are not reported. This happens here, every day, and in every place, and it happened to me, too.”

The videos show only the beginning of the incident, she added.

The man whose face cannot be seen in the video identifies Hebrew on the microphone, passes the information on to his friends and starts to harass. What happened afterward was much worse. They surrounded me, four or five men, and began to curse me. The word Jew was repeated, too.

"My hands shake, three weeks later, when I remember the things that they said. I was standing in the street, I was not bothering anyone, and I was cursed – with aggressive hand motions – and threatened. I looked around. The street was full of people who noted what was going on, they watched from the side, and someone even taped everything with a smartphone, but no one helped me.

"When I felt threatened, I ran off (yes, that is the right word) to the train station, where there were soldiers. Only then did they leave me alone... So no, we were not exaggerating. That is the reality. Now we must fight it.
