'Arch-liar' Pal pres. Abbas writes to Pope Francis: 'we condemn anyone who justifies terror with religion'.

'Arch-liar' Pal pres. Abbas writes to Pope Francis: 'we condemn anyone who justifies terror with religion'. (Fides).

“We are horrified at the barbarous attack on the church of Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray in which we lost the parish priest Jacques Hamel.
On behalf of the State of Palestine and the Palestinian people, we condemn the vile and hateful terrorist attack and any justification anyone dare give in the name of religion for these crimes against humanity ”.
These words were part of a letter of condolence sent by Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas to Pope Francis, the successor of Saint Peter following the heinous murder of the elderly priest whose throat was cut by two terrorists as he celebrated mass in the church of Saint Etienne du Rouvray, near Rouen.

We will stand always shoulder to shoulder” we read in the presidential missive sent to Fides, “to spread love, mercy and justice, overcome hatred and extremism and promote justice and peace for the whole of humanity”.

The Assembly of Catholic Bishops of the Holy Land yesterday sent a message of condolence to the Church in France and to all the French people. “From the Holy Land which continues to suffer from violence and instability” says the message, made public by the official media of the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, “we raise our voices, urging an end to the use of violence in the name of religion and instead, to use religion as the path to promote mutual respect and understanding among all nations.”

The Catholic Bishops of the Holy Land continued “we believers, need to pray to the Almighty to keep all people united and together cooperate for an end to all kinds of terrorism and that world leaders be inspired to act wisely and decisively to uproot terrorism and its causes in all of the regions now suffering from this plague”.

Video - Obama's 'Peace partner' Abbas: We won’t allow Jews with their “filthy feet” to “defile our Al-Aqsa Mosque”

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas: “We bless you, we bless the Murabitin (those carrying out Ribat, religious conflict/war to protect land claimed to be Islamic), we bless every drop of blood that has been spilled for Jerusalem, which is clean and pure blood, blood spilled for Allah, Allah willing. Every Martyr (Shahid) will reach Paradise, and everyone wounded will be rewarded by Allah.

The Al-Aqsa [Mosque] is ours, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is ours, and they have no right to defile them with their filthy feet. We will not allow them to, and we will do everything in our power to protect Jerusalem.” Read the full story here.

Obama's 'Peace partner' Abbas presents Holocaust as something Jews "say"

Obama's 'Peace partner' Abbas presents Holocaust as something Jews "say" (PalWatch).
"They say they made sacrifices in World War II -we respect what they say"
Abbas adds libel:  Israel doing to Palestinians what Nazis did to Jews: "We must not be a
victim of the victim"

PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas in a speech before a delegation of Polish  journalist in Ramallah, referred to Jewish suffering in World War II as a Jewish or Israeli claim that he is willing to respect:
"They say they made sacrifices in World War II - we respect what they say."

He made this statement in the context of libeling Israel, as the second half of his statement accuses Israel of doing to the Palestinians what the Nazis did to the Jews:

"They should not treat us the way they were treated [by the Nazis]. We must not be a victim of the victim. I did not do anything bad to him."

It is striking that in his statement Abbas presents the Holocaust not as historical fact to be acknowledged but as something "Jews say" which he is willing to "respect." Additionally, his choice of terminology to describethe genocide of 6 million Jews completes his trivialization of the
Holocaust: "... they made sacrifices in World War II."

Palestinian Media Watch has documented that Holocaust denial and trivialization are repeated regularly by the PA.

Abbas wrote a book in 1984, called "The Other Side: the Secret Relationship Between Nazism and Zionism," which is currently still available for reading on Abbas' personal website, that accuses the Zionist leadership of collaboration with the Nazis. Quotes from Abbas' book appear below.

This was Abbas's full statement to the Polish journalists that related to World War II:

"If they [Jews] say that they made sacrifices in World War II, and we respect what they say, they should not treat us the way they were treated. We must not be a victim of the victim. I did not do anything bad to him. I just want him to follow the law. I want a state on the 1967 borders."

The following is from Mahmoud Abbas book "The Other Side: the Secret Relationship Between Nazism and Zionism." The book was recently translated into Hebrew by Eddy Cohen:

"We find that Zionists believe in the purity of the Jewish race, as Hitler believed in the purity of the Aryan race. Zionism calls to find a fundamental final solution to the Jewish question in Europe by immigration to Palestine. Hitler also called for this and implemented it... Antisemitism is persecution and oppression, and this is definitely something desirable to the Zionist movement. The conclusion from these ideas is that a green light was given [by the Zionist leaders] to every racist in the world, first and foremost Hitler and Nazism, to do as they wish to the Jews, as long as it
guarantees individual immigration to Palestine. And it was not enough for the Zionist movement to give a green light - rather it even asked for more victims, in order to be comparable to the victims of other peoples in the war. This was because it [the Zionist leaders] thought that raising the
number of victims would increase its rights at the end of the war, when the bounty is divided."

Abbas says Palestinian govt to resign within 24 hours - reports.

Abbas says Palestinian govt to resign within 24 hours - reports. (RT).

The Palestinian government is to be dissolved within 24 hours, AFP reports, quoting a statement made by President Mahmoud Abbas. The government's spokesman, however, denies any such discussion of dissolution.

"Within 24 hours the Palestinian government will resign," Abbas told members of the Revolutionary Council of his Fatah movement in Ramallah, AFP reports, citing several officials present at the meeting.

The reason for the resignation is the government's inability to act in the Gaza strip, AFP reported earlier in the day citing senior officials with the Palestinian Authority.

“This one [government] is weak and there is no chance that Hamas will allow it to work in Gaza,” said Amin Maqbul, secretary general of the ruling Fatah movement's Revolutionary Council, according to AFP.

While Maqbul is quoted as saying that a new government will be formed within 24 hours, another source, an unnamed attendee of the 15th Revolutionary Council conference quoted by the Maan news agency claims it could take several days.

However, the issue was not discussed at the latest meeting of the collective Hamas-Fatah government, according to government spokesman Ihab Bseiso, AFP reports.

The current government was forged by the rival Palestinian movements Hamas and Fatah in June 2014, after a unity pact ended a violent split that began in 2007.

Hamas: Israel agrees in principle to build seaport and airport in Gaza

Hamas: Israel agrees in principle to build seaport and airport in Gaza. (IMRA).

Regional changes to force Abbas act positively towards Gaza Strip Hamas newspaper 25 April 2015 http://english.alresalah.ps/en/post.php?id=4640

GAZA CITY (Alresalah.ps) -- A year after the Beach Agreement had been signed by both Hamas and Fatah, the Consensus Government returned to the Gaza Strip for the third time, seeking to count the PA staff  a move that aims to complete the integration process of all ministries in the Gaza Strip. Decisions taken by the Consensus Government sparked a political debate over the outcome of this situation.

Seemingly, good intentions and promises made by the government were not enough for Hamas to rest assured. The countless numbers of attempts, which failed to reach a real agreement, made the Islamic Resistance Movement cautious over any promises pledged by the government.

But the question is "what is the secret behind the sudden moves of the PA and political changes towards Gaza?"

The PA is concerned that it might be given the axe due to the regional and national changes, since it is the less effective side.

The PA alleges that indirect secret negotiations are taking place between Hamas and Israel, brokered by European sides. Observers believe that these negotiations will alleviate the impacts of Israel's siege on the Gaza Strip, in case it happened.

Sources confirm that there is a European and international desire to end the crises in the coastal enclave, mainly the reconstruction issue, and to bring about a long-term truce.

Anonymous sources told Alresalah.ps that there is a principal Israeli agreement to build a seaport and an airport in the Gaza Strip, "since Israel is capable of destroying them completely in any coming war." What is most important for the Israelis is to reach a state of security and political stability.

The Saudi rapprochement with Hamas was reflected on the Egyptian relations. The Egyptian intelligence demanded to call Chairman of Hamas Political Bureau Khalid Mishaal, according to a Hamas senior leader.

Abbas is well-aware that he will not be an active part in any solutions to the current situation in the Gaza Strip as long as the Consensus Government ignores the strip. The PA realizes that changes in realtions with Saudi Arabia strengthened Hamas' positions.

Thus, Abbas may change his stances towards the people of the Gaza Strip.

"Hallelujah!" Arab states should “strike” Gaza like Yemen, says advisor to Mahmoud Abbas

"Hallelujah!" Arab states should “strike” Gaza like Yemen, says advisor to Mahmoud Abbas. (electronicintifada).

A senior Palestinian Authority official has called on Arab states to “strike” Gaza, following the example of the Saudi-led bombing raids on Yemen.

Arab states have a duty to “strike those who have violated legitimacy with an iron fist, regardless of the place, time or circumstances, beginning with Palestine,” said Mahmoud al-Habbash, religious affairs advisor to PA leader Mahmoud Abbas.

What happened in Gaza was a coup, not a division, and it must be addressed with firmness,” added Al-Habbash, who is also the PA’s chief Islamic justice. “There can be no dialogue with coup-makers; they must be hit with an iron fist.

Al-Habbash made his comments, which were reported by the official Palestinian news agency, in a Friday sermon at the mosque in the PA’s Ramallah headquarters.

Officials of Abbas’ Ramallah-based, Western-supported PA regularly accuse Hamas of carrying out a “coup” when it took over the interior of the Gaza Strip in 2007.

This is a reversal of the well-documented reality that Hamas was acting against a coup attempt by forces loyal to Abbas, after Hamas won legislative elections the previous year. Hmmm.....We should frame this Quote, better engrave it in granite. Read the full story here.

Turkish minister: Peace required for energy projects with Israel.

Turkish minister: Peace required for energy projects with Israel. (HD). HT: Blazingcatfur.

Turkey will not pursue any energy projects with Israel until permanent peace is established in the region, Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yıldız has said.

“We try to use energy projects as requirements of peace. We never talk about the economic feasibility of a project without political feasibility. Our national policy is based on this understanding,” Yıldız said, ahead of the “Mediterranean Energy Perspectives - Turkey Report” introduction meeting in Ankara.

He also denied claims that Turkey was used as a transit country for Israeli natural gas. “Without a permanent ceasefire that would satisfy all sides, we cannot think of any energy projects with Israel,” he said. Hmmm....yup that's why Erdogan's BFF just approved delivery of top of the line torpedoes to Turkey, patrolling Cypriot and Israeli gasfields i guess? Or hunt 'Dolphins'?Read the full story here.

Dep Minister: PA will not pay terrorist group Hamas wages in Gaza.

Dep Minister: PA will not pay terrorist group Hamas wages in Gaza.(MaanNews).

Palestinian Authority Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Mustafa said Sunday that the PA will not pay the salaries of Hamas civil servants in Gaza, but may provide financial assistance.

"We are looking for a temporary solution to send money through non-governmental organizations such as the United Nations or any other entity," Mustafa told Ma'an.

"We want to avoid any legal confrontation with the United States whose law prohibits channeling money to Hamas because it's blacklisted as a terrorist organization according to American law."

Since signing a unity agreement in April, Hamas said that the new government must take responsibility for paying its 45,000 employees, some 27,000 of which are civil servants, he said.

PA Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah said Sunday that the problem of wages had turned into the main stumbling block to an intra-Palestinian reconciliation deal.

The international community has threatened to boycott the Palestinian leadership if it pays the salaries of former Hamas employees in Gaza, Hamdallah added.

"The government and the banks operating in the Palestinian territories were warned that if they make these payments to former Hamas government employees in Gaza then the government and the people will be boycotted," he said.

"If this happens, the Palestinian banking system will face a huge problem that will threaten the Palestinian situation in general," he told AFP.

Meanwhile, Mustafa said that the PA will submit its own report on damages in Gaza to a donor conference set to take place in October.

Twenty teams have been working with international organizations to calculate economic losses during Israel's devastating seven-week offensive.

The PA is considering a combination of cash payments and mobile housing for those displaced during the conflict, he added.

A donor conference due to be held in New York on Sept. 22 will evaluate financial support to the PA, Mustafa said.Hmmm....Ok, the UN will now officially pay the terrorist wages?

Israeli Foreign Min Lieberman: 'Long-term Gaza truce does not seem possible.'

Israeli Foreign Min Lieberman: 'Long-term Gaza truce does not seem possible.'(Haaretz).

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman told diplomatic reporters on Sunday that he did not believe it would be possible to reach a long-term cease-fire agreement with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

"I don't think we can reach an agreed mechanism with regard to the payment of salaries in Gaza and with anything to do with Hamas strengthening. They will continue to create and smuggle weapons, and then how will we stop their strengthening? Any cease-fire, in my opinion, will be limited.

Lieberman also spoke to reporters about Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, who he said he said had no public legitimacy in the Palestinian Authority and no authority according to the constitution to sign any agreement in the name of the Palestinians, as his term has expired.

“We cannot take far-reaching measures with the Palestinians without new elections in the PA,” he said. “Anyone who comes after Abu Mazen [Abbas] will say that we signed on ice, and will say that Abu Mazen signed without authority.

Lieberman also told reporters that Hamas' military chief Mohammed Deif had indeed died in an Israel Defense Forces' strike on the Gaza Strip during Operation Protective Edge. Read the full story here.

'Moderate' Abbas Threatens to Break Partnership with Hamas

'Moderate' Abbas Threatens to Break Partnership with Hamas. (ynet).

The rift between Fatah and Hamas that developed over the course of Operation Protective Edge continued to widen yesterday, when Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas spoke to Egyptian reporters, threatening to break their current partnership if the organization in Gaza doesn’t begin to make some changes.

If Hamas won’t accept a Palestinian State with one government, one law, and one weapon - then there won’t be any partnership between us,” said Abbas. “This is our condition, and we won’t back away from it.

The Palestinian leader made the comments while on a three day visit to Cairo, where he said that dialogue with Hamas regarding Palestinian reconciliation could only continue if the organization based in Gaza softens its position.

Abbas said that he demands that the Palestinian Authority be responsible for State decision including when to declare war or sign a peace deal. Khaled Mashaal, the political leader of Hamas, doesn't seem agreeable to these terms according to Abbas.

"Mashaal told me, 'I'm the resistance leader and there will be no ceasefire (between Hamas and Israel) without my agreement,'" said Abbas.

We will only be talking to Hamas if they meet our requirements. The partnership with Hamas depends on arms being under the control of the Palestinian State,” said Abbas referring to Hamas’ underground military wing led by Mohammed Deif. Read the full story here.

Abbas having a PhD in Holocaust denial accuses Israel of ‘genocide’

Abbas having a PhD in Holocaust denial accuses Israel of ‘genocide’ (ToI).

Palestinian leader invokes Auschwitz during emergency meeting; PLO calls for world’s protection

The Palestinian Authority moved to join the International Criminal Court in The Hague on Wednesday, accusing Israel of committing genocide against the Palestinians amid Israel’s military campaign to stem rocket fire from the Gaza Strip

PA President Mahmoud Abbas called a crisis meeting of the Palestinian leadership in the afternoon with the intention of signing paperwork to apply to join the ICC in The Hague and other international organizations.

Abbas charged Israel with committing “genocide” in Gaza during its Operation Protective Edge, which has so far killed 43 Palestinians.

It’s genocide — the killing of entire families is genocide by Israel against our Palestinian people,” he told the meeting of Palestinian leadership at his Ramallah bureau. “What’s happening now is a war against the Palestinian people as a whole and not against the [terrorist] factions.”

“Shall we recall Auschwitz?” he added.

“We know that Israel is not defending itself; it is defending settlements, its main project,” Abbas continued. “We are moving in several ways to stop the Israeli aggression and spilling of Palestinian blood, including talking to Egyptian President [Abdel Fattah] el-Sissi and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.”Read the full story here.

One of the less savory aspects of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’s biography is that he has a PhD in Holocaust denial–literally. His 1982 dissertation, published as “The Other Side: the Secret Relationship Between Nazism and Zionism,” famously argues that the Zionists collaborated with the Nazis in order to spur more Jewish immigration to Palestine. “The Zionist movement,” it explains, “led a broad campaign of incitement against the Jews living under Nazi rule, in order to arouse the government’s hatred of them, to fuel vengeance against them, and to expand the mass extermination.” The Zionists, the work asserts, were the Third Reich’s “basic partner in crime.” It also claims that the figure of six million dead has been exaggerated for political gain, and suggests one million as a more reasonable estimate. Abbas has never unreservedly repudiated the document, and has in fact regularly reaffirmed its core argument, saying in 2013 that he had “70 more books that I still haven’t published” proving the Zionist-Nazi partnership

"Israel's Staunchest Ally" pres Obama to meet Palestinian leader Abbas on March 17.

"Israel's Staunchest Ally" pres Obama to meet Palestinian leader Abbas on March 17.(Dunyanews).
President Barack Obama will meet Mahmud Abbas on March 17, stepping up Washington's efforts to convince the Palestinian leader to embrace the US vision of a peace deal with Israel.
The meeting will come two weeks after Obama's planned encounter with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday, which will also take place at the White House.

"The President looks forward to reviewing with President Abbas the progress in the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations," White House spokesman Jay Carney said in a statement.

"They will also discuss our continuing effort to work cooperatively to strengthen the institutions that can support the establishment of a Palestinian state."

US Secretary of State John Kerry, who has been mounting an exhaustive diplomatic push, said Wednesday that his quest to seal a full Middle East peace deal will slip beyond an April deadline.
Kerry first hopes to convince both sides to agree a framework to guide the talks.

"Then we get into the final negotiations. I don't think anybody would worry if there's another nine months, or whatever it's going to be... But that's not defined yet," Kerry said in a roundtable discussion with a small group of news organizations, including AFP.

Kerry coaxed the two sides back to the negotiating table in late July, after Obama's initial drive to secure a peace deal foundered in his first term.

Despite Kerry's intense attention, the talks have shown little sign of progress, with each side blaming the other for the stalemate.

But Kerry insisted that both parties were still "in the middle" of the talks. "I laugh at people who say it's not going anywhere. They don't know because we're not talking about where it's at. They have no clue where our negotiations are and whether they could go anywhere."

A Palestinian official told AFP however last week that Kerry's ideas could not be the basis of any framework.
