Video - Antisemitism in France - Israeli Reporter Harassed in Paris
Video - Antisemitism in France - Israeli Reporter Harassed in Paris. (INN).
Reporting from Paris , journalist Miri Michaeli of 10 Israeli TV channel found herself surrounded by a group of young people ( whose accent suggests that they are from immigrant background ) and harassed because she is Jewish and from Israel.
Israeli Channel 10's reporter in France, Miri Michaeli, used her Facebook page Thursday to publish video documentation of an anti-Semitic assault she experienced in central Paris.
The incident occurred just as she was about to report on camera about the Germanwings passenger jet disaster in the Alps three weeks ago.
"I did not mean to upload this video,” she wrote. “It is not possible to understand what exactly happened there, in that short scene, and I do not look too good there, either. But after the report yesterday, which presented worrisome statistics about anti-Semitism in Europe, I received some questions from viewers and friends who thought that the media (and I, as part of it) are painting an exaggerated picture of the situation.
"It's true that if you walk down the streets of Paris, you may feel nothing,” Michaeli explained. "But if you don a kippah, wear a Magen David necklace or hold a microphone that says 'News 10' in Hebrew, it is reasonable to assume that sooner or later, you will realize that the situation is worse than what the statistics indicate. These remarks do not enter the statistics, and are not reported. This happens here, every day, and in every place, and it happened to me, too.”
The videos show only the beginning of the incident, she added.
“The man whose face cannot be seen in the video identifies Hebrew on the microphone, passes the information on to his friends and starts to harass. What happened afterward was much worse. They surrounded me, four or five men, and began to curse me. The word Jew was repeated, too.”
"My hands shake, three weeks later, when I remember the things that they said. I was standing in the street, I was not bothering anyone, and I was cursed – with aggressive hand motions – and threatened. I looked around. The street was full of people who noted what was going on, they watched from the side, and someone even taped everything with a smartphone, but no one helped me.
"When I felt threatened, I ran off (yes, that is the right word) to the train station, where there were soldiers. Only then did they leave me alone... So no, we were not exaggerating. That is the reality. Now we must fight it.”

"Ah ! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira" - Israeli court allows distribution of Charlie Hebdo.
"Ah ! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira" - Israeli court allows distribution of Charlie Hebdo. (MEM).
The Israeli Supreme Court yesterday allowed Yisrael Beiteinu, headed by Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman, to distribute the special issue of the French magazine Charlie Hebdo which contains a cartoon portraying Prophet Muhammad.
In a post on its account Facebook, Israel Beiteinu said: "The decision was taken after the opposition of the Arab parties."
Lieberman considered "the Supreme Court's decision to allow the distribution of the magazine Charlie Hebdo as an important message emphasising that Israel is a Jewish and democratic state which does not bow to threats and violence exercised by Arab Knesset members who are trying to change Israel to an ISIS State [Islamic State], we welcome the right decision taken by the Supreme Court." French Intelligence Tracking 400 'targets' believed to be in terror sleeper cells.

French Intelligence Tracking 400 'targets' believed to be in terror sleeper cells.(DS).
PARIS: France is tracking hundreds of people believed to belong to possible sleeper cells for terror organizations like Al-Qaeda or ISIS, the country’s top security official said.
In an interview with the Associated Press, Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve laid out what has become an increasingly urgent question for European intelligence services: How to trace the moment when someone transforms from a disgruntled criminal or a disaffected citizen into a terrorist, and how to block those first steps toward radicalization.
“Four hundred targets have been identified by our intelligence services that are more or less sleeper cells, affiliated or in relation with Al-Qaeda-type organizations, that can strike like the Kouachi brothers,” Cazeneuve said late Monday.
Cazeneuve said he wants new measures to give intelligence services more leeway to monitor suspects’ electronic communications. He is heading to the United States Wednesday to try and persuade Internet giants to step up and help stem extremists’ ability to use propaganda videos to recruit and indoctrinate new followers.
Facebook, Twitter, Apple and Google – all major vectors for increasingly sophisticated jihadi clips targeting potential followers in the West – will be among his stops in Silicon Valley.
“Ninety percent of those who commit terrorist acts fall into it after regularly consulting websites or blogs that call for or provoke terrorism,” Cazeneuve said.
France also is pushing to treat jihadi material on the Internet like child porn, a task that before the attacks in Paris was getting scant traction but now seems to have caught the attention of Europe’s top security officials.
“Everyone agrees now that legislation that prevents the diffusion of child pornography is protecting citizens from crime. It is the same for terrorism,” Cazeneuve said.
“Calling for anti-Semitism, calling for crimes, calling for murder, calling for the killing of Jews or journalists – that’s not about freedom of expression. That is a criminal act.”
Hmmmm.....I feel that the 400 is only the tip of the iceberg, only 30% of those who left to join ISIS in Iraq or Syria were known to authorities before they left. I think the same applies for those remaining in France. The Islamic State asked in a previous message that would be suicide bombers to stay put and not to come to Iraq and Syria. It's a timebomb waiting to exploded. The riots in Paris last Summer were just appetizers. Read the full story here.

European Jewish Congress: Europe must move from Defence to Offence and Prevent Future Attacks.

| A look in the mirror for Europe! |
European Jewish Congress: Europe must move from Defence to Offence and Prevent Future Attacks.(Juedische).
(Brussels, Sunday, February 15, 2015) – European Jewish Congress President Dr. Moshe Kantor, has urged European authorities to go on the offensive against radical Islamists, if they are to stand any chances of beating back the terrorist wave spreading across Europe.
“Last night’s terrorist attack on a synagogue in Denmark demonstrates that defensive measures to protect the public, and the Jewish community in particular, are not enough,” Dr. Kantor said. “The authorities must change the paradigm and take the battle to the radical Islamist enclaves, prevent the next attack and bring the terrorists and their supporters to task.”
“Islamic terrorists are targeting Jews specifically in their homes, markets, places of business and houses of worship. Unless serious action is taken to prevent these attacks every Jew in Europe is at risk.
To win this war on terror and anti-Semitism, European authorities must immediately establish a pan-European task force with legal authority and significant budgetary resources dedicated to stopping this threat. Intelligence gathering, surveillance and protection must be amassed and shared by all nations and terrorists needs to be hunted down before they act. Now is the time for all EU member states to act swiftly and effectively.”
"The wave of anti-Semitism which is sweeping the continent is becoming more and more violent and endangers Jewish existence. The threats against Jews and the inability of governments to defend them are forcing Jews out of Europe,” Dr. Kantor said.
“It is clear that Jews continue to be the main target of these attacks. While others are attacked for what they do, Jews are continuously attacked for who they are. It is a slow and deliberate religious massacre and it is killing Jewish communities by the death of a thousand cuts.”
The European Jewish Congress is the representative organisation of European Jewry. It federates the national Jewish communities in over 40 European countries, uniting 2.5 million Jews across the continent. Read the full statement here.

France ends military protection of Jewish schools and synagogues: "Too dangerous for soldiers," HT: DreuzeInfo.[GoogleTranslate].
This is the end of "Operation Sentinel" where 722 Jewish schools and synagogues were protected by the army, 200 of them monitored round the clock, even when the premises were empty.

The military has ruled the operation "dangerous for soldiers, regularly targeted and ultimately exhausting for the whole structure" , reports Le Monde this Friday night, February 13th.
Since the beginning of the operation in mid-January after the attacks that killed 17 people, the military has identified 371 "incidents" against military static guard outside the protected premises.
- Thus the army has observed that "reconnaissance, photography or film" were made by jihadists for the preparation of future attacks,
- "14 serious assaults, either a knife, laser, or even butts" were rencensées against the military stationed.
- A jihadist tried to snatch his rifle at a military patrol at the Trocadero before being overpowered (and probably already released)
- A Etampes, a Muslim has been spotted several times by the military: when it has been identified, the police realized that it is a member of a group of three returned from Yemen and their free in their movements.
- A Savigny-sur-Orge, a car drove into the barriers protecting a Jewish community facility.
The workforce had reached 10,412 men on January 15 in the renamed Sentinel operation. Except in cases of force majeure, this effort is expected by the gouverment on a "short period" because since the attacks, and for the first time, the government has committed as many soldiers in the country and abroad, Sahel to Iraq.
Military officials want relief of the Vigipirate action. The objective is to reduce the military strength increments to descend from 10,412 to 3,000 men, and changing the way of acting.
The 154 units deployed in 722 Jewish sites, most static guard and nearly 200 kept round the clock, will be replaced with almost all mobile patrols the army just rented 300 vehicles, 9 places to combis .
Discussions are underway between the military, the prefects and the representatives of the Jewish community to reorganize oversight.Hmmmm.......Ah ! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira.....became "Ah ! ça n'ira pas, ça n'ira pas, ça n'ira pas du tout" the Bastille has fallen to Islamist domestic terrorism.

"CHANGE" - Ethnic French are less racist and French Muslims are increasingly anti-Semitic.

"CHANGE" - Ethnic French are less racist and French Muslims are increasingly anti-Semitic. HT: DreuzeInfo.
In France, the curves of racism and anti-Semitism are reversed.
The historic French are less racist and French Muslims are increasingly anti-Semitic, and more and more violent.
Racist, anti-Semitic acts out, identified in 2014 were down 5% compared to 2013 *.
In contrast, the number of anti-Semitic acts recorded doubled.
It is 851 against 423 in 2013. An increase of 101%, and they were all committed by Muslims.
The divide is widening between firstly ethnic French more tolerant with respect to diversity and immigration, and French Muslims increasingly violent against the Jews.
Thus in 2014, the violent actions committed by Muslims against Jews increased by 130% compared to 2013.
And the number of violent attacks by French Muslims in 2014 was 241 against 105 in 2013.
Taking all figures, more than half of racist acts in France in 2014 were the work of Muslims and were directed against the Jews.
If we want to note that Jews represent less than 1% of the French population, this means that less than 1% of the citizens of the country are the target of half of all racist acts in France, and they are committed by Muslims.

| French Departments with their respective number of Antisemitic cases |
The cities most affected by the anti-Semitic acts in 2014 are Paris , Marseille , Lyon, Toulouse, Sarcelles , Nice, Villeurbanne , Strasbourg and Créteil . These excellent figures are to be worn for the benefit of native French, whose tolerance is once again confirmed. SOS Racism can be proud that racism is both declining and it is so small.
However, the catastrophic results on Muslim anti-Semitism clearly indicate to fight organizations like the MRAP, LICRA, SOS Racisme and LDH way to go and the direction they should take to safeguard the civil society. Full report on Antisemitism in France can be read and Downloaded here. (French).

Charlie Hebdo Survivor: "Obama admin’s record on press freedom “an absolute scandal, Glad Obama Didn’t Come to Paris"
Charlie Hebdo Survivor: "Obama admin’s record on press freedom “an absolute scandal, Glad Obama Didn’t Come to Paris" (Newsmax).
Laurent Leger, a Charlie Hebdo staff member who survived the attack that killed several of his co-workers earlier this month, says he is happy President Barack Obama didn’t attend the Paris unity rally that he was criticized for skipping, The Huffington Post reports.
Leger, the satire magazine’s investigations editor, called the Obama administration’s record on press freedom “an absolute scandal,” adding, “It’s very good he didn’t come to the march that day.”
Eight whistleblowers have been prosecuted under the 1917 Espionage Act during Obama’s term in office - more than double the number of all previous presidents combined.
More than 40 heads of state marched in Paris alongside French President Francois Hollande days after the attack that killed 12 people. Leger said many of those who marched also should have stayed home, and that if the cartoonists who died had been alive they would have lampooned them.
Leger also criticized the British government and media for its stand on press freedom. Great Britain does not allow the press there to report on a secret meeting between former President George W. Bush and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, in which Bush allegedly advocated bombing the Al Jazeera news network’s headquarters. Read the full story here.

Turkish court orders Facebook pages block insulting Prophet Muhammad.
Turkish
A Turkish court ordered Sunday a block on access to a number of Facebook pages that share materials insulting Prophet Mohammad, Anadolu Agency reported.
The Golbasi Duty Magistrate Court gave the order on the request of Prosecutor Harun Ceylan, who was investigating the pages on social media.
The court decided that Facebook, the world’s biggest social network, would be blocked Turkey if Facebook fails to implement the order.
The court’s decision has been forwarded to the Presidency of Telecommunication and Communication and to the Access Provider Association.
Previously, a court in Turkey's southeastern Diyarbakir province ruled on Jan. 14 to block access to web pages showing Charlie Hebdo's latest cover featuring a cartoon of Prophet Muhammad.
The cover depicts Prophet Muhammad in a white dress and shedding a tear, holding up a sign reading, “Je suis Charlie” -- slogan popularized after Paris attacks -- below the headline "All is forgiven."
On Jan. 7, 12 people were massacred in a gun attack in the Paris headquarters of the Charlie Hebdo magazine.

Turkish 'Antisemitic' magazine replies to anti-Islam Charlie Hebdo campaign. (Taz).
Turkish 'satirical' magazine Cafcaf, the only publication in Turkey which places emphasis on Islamic values, has hit back to the Charlie Hebdo arrogance with a unique cover, IRNA reported.
Cafcaf magazine has responded to Hebdo with an equally moving magazine cover in French – who have massacred human rights in the name of liberal, modern Europe - saying “Non, rien n'est pardonne” translated as “NO, nothing has been forgiven”.
'Arrogance has become a habit of the European culture, who have placed themselves above others in a position where they are free and unquestionable and in turn, have elicited a significant response from the entire world,' the magazine said in a statement.
Charlie Hebdo, in their latest publication had put a caricature depicting the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) shedding a tear and holding up a sign saying “Je suis Charlie”, the message of solidarity with the victims. Above the cartoon are the words, “All is forgiven”.
Cafcaf, in answer to Charlie Hebdo, showed pictures pointing to those who have been oppressed in Afghanistan, Gaza, Chechnya, Iraq, Syria, Egypt and China, with a Palestinian child in the front middle, all whose blood is still being spilt, saying nothing will be forgiven.
A weekly publication, the latest edition of Charlie Hebdo saw a reprint of 3 million magazines. Hmmm.....Seems Cafcaf's 'Cartoonist' has a nasty 'Antisemitic' streak
France - For fear of Reprisals, Projections banned from "The Apostle" - On n'est pas tous des Charlie.
France - For fear of Reprisals, Projections banned from "The Apostle". (Christianophobia).
Unless I am mistaken - and I thank in advance, readers who might report me other examples - the only French politician matter who denounced the "administrative" prohibitions (see here) projections of movie The Apostle "because of the circumstances" is Senator Bruneau Retailleau . The President of the Vendée General Council expressed its disapproval in a tweet yesterday as follows:
The screening was organized by the Family Associations Loire-Atlantique Catholics.
The director of the film The Apostle, Cheyenne Carron, received the Federation of Catholic Family Associations of Loire-Atlantique a letter explaining the reasons for the deprogramming of his film: "ISB [Branch of Homeland Security] us strongly advised to cancel our discussion evening of January 23 around the film "The Apostle", to the risk of attacks, this projection can be seen as a provocation by the Muslim community.
Before this force majeure, we are forced to cancel this evening. We do not know yet what date it will be possible to reprogram the evening. »
In Nantes, the Federation of Family Associations Loire-Atlantique Catholics had plans to hold a private screening debate around the film for its members, set on January 23 in Brittany room. The information is published on the website of the Federation in the form of a brief note: "for reasons beyond our control lead us to deprogram the film Apostle scheduled Jan. 23 room Britain to refer to a date later. "
"The Apostle", released in October 2014, is the work of a devout Catholic, Cheyenne Carron.
It tells the story of Akim, an aspiring imam who decides to turn to Catholicism after the murder of the sister of a priest by a neighbor. The priest decides not to move away from the family of the murderer. Akim regularly attends the mosque with his brother, and is preparing to take over from his imam uncle, but he is troubled by the Gospel message and the mysterious kindness of the priest, who chose to continue to live next to the parents of murderer "because it helps them to live." Gradually, his inner path leads in the footsteps of Christ.
"If my film echoes the persecution of Christians around the world, said the director at Life in October 2014, it's great if it can arouse debate. "
This conversion story that did not receive funding for the National Film Center, Cheyenne Carron turned to private sponsorship. Hmmmm.......France is scared to screen a movie about an Apostate of ISLAM.....freedom of speech was 'defended' for SEVEN Days. Another example of French Courage under fire.
L'annulation du film l'Apôtre à Nantes est un renoncement dangereux. Moins d'une semaine après la marche pour la Liberté! #terrorisme

Saudi OIC Muslim leader organizing 'legal action against Charlie Hebdo' over Mohamed cartoons.
Saudi OIC Muslim leader organizing 'legal action against Charlie Hebdo' over Mohamed cartoons.(Independent).
The Saudi Arabia-based Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is planning to sue the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo following its publication of a front cover depicting the Prophet Mohamed.
It comes as demonstrations against the controversial image on last week’s “survivor” issue turned violent in Niger, Pakistan and Algeria, while the Iranian authorities banned a daily newspaper for a front-page headline allegedly offering Charlie Hebdo its support.
In Saudi Arabia, the former culture minister and now head of the Jeddah-based OIC condemned the new edition of Charlie Hebdo as “an idiotic step that requires necessary legal measures”.
Iyad Madani told a Saudi newspaper: “OIC is studying Europe and French laws and other available procedures to be able to take legal action against Charlie Hebdo.
“If French laws allow us to take legal procedures against Charlie Hebdo, OIC will not hesitate to prosecute the French magazine.”
On his personal Twitter feed, Madani added: “These cartoons have hurt the sentiments of Muslims across the world.
“Freedom of speech must not become a hate speech and must not offend others. No sane person, irrespective of doctrine, religion or faith, accepts his beliefs being ridiculed,” he said.
In Gaza, Muslims scrawled graffiti on the walls of the French Cultural Centre. In addition to statements praising Mohamed and declaring him off-limits for ridicule or satire, the vandals also wrote: “To hell, to a miserable destiny, French journalists.”

EU "considering a ban on Islamophobia" after Paris attacks
EU "considering a ban on Islamophobia" after Paris attacks.(Commentator).
After the Charlie Hebdo and related attacks, the European Union is being presented with proposals to ban Islamophobia, so as to stem a perceived backlash against Muslims. Eurocrats are sympathetic but do not believe they are practicable.
Diplomatic and NGO sources in Brussels say that the European Union is now considering proposals from Muslim groups to strengthen laws against "hate speech" following the fatal attacks in Paris at the Charlie Hebdo satirical magazine and a Jewish Supermarket.
The proposals are based on fears that the attacks by Islamists could provoke a backlash against Europe's growing Muslim community, leaders of which uniformly condemned the killings, while simultaneously protesting against denigration of Muhammed.
Mainstream Muslim leaders have close contacts with the European Union and its related institutions, as do the leaders of other faith groups.
The sources, consulted in the last two days, who insisted upon anonymity, said that senior EU officials were sympathetic to calls for libel and hate-speech laws to be strengthened, but were sceptical of getting support from member governments or from the European Parliament where Right-leaning parties increased their presence at last year's European elections.
One well-informed member of a non-governmental orgainsation in Brussels said:
"The conversation is going on. In fact, it's the only game in town after Paris. But you aren't going to get anyone to go on the record right now. Everyone's too scared, and I don't mean scared of the Islamists, I mean scared of being accused of being politically correct, even if they are. "
"The Jewish groups are terrified, but let's face it, how many Jews are there in Europe against the number of Muslims? But, yes, they are considering a ban on Islamophobia".
In 2003, the EU suppressed a report on anti-Semitism in Europe which concluded that attacks on Jews were mainly perpetrated by young Muslims. Hmmmmm.....He was 100% right, and that's why Turkey went to the march.
