  • HT:BigPeace.Top Islamic Scholars Say Jews and Christians Know Islam Is True, Purposely Removed Muhammad from the Bible.Muslim spokesmen and Islamic apologists in the West love to trot out the “shared Judeo-Christian-Islamic heritage and values” line, insinuating that Muslims worship the same God as Jews and Christians, and also revere their prophets and scriptures. For example, Dr. John Esposito, director of the Saudi-funded Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at Georgetown, asserted in his 1992 book Islam and the Straight Path that “Media images of Islam have often obscured the fact that Muslims, Jews and Christians share much in common. … Like Jews and Christians, Muslims worship the God of Abraham and Moses, [and] believe in God’s revelation and prophets…” Statements like these are carefully crafted to assuage Jewish and Christian misgivings about some of Islam’s violent and intolerant teachings. Unfortunately these statements have no basis in Islamic doctrine. When high-ranking Islamic clerics speak candidly on these same topics in Arabic, when they don’t think the West is listening, an entirely different picture emerges.it’s hard to give any credence to those who speak soothing words about the “shared Judeo-Christian-Islamic heritage.” But more importantly, it is precisely this anti-Jewish and anti-Christian attitude in Islam that provides the atmosphere in which Jews and Christians can be persecuted and killed by Muslims for the slightest offenses (and even imaginary ones), as we’re seeing currently in Pakistan, Iraq, Egypt, and even ‘moderate’ Indonesia.Hmmmmm........."The Truth shall set you free".Read the full story here.

  • Palestinians call for UN vote Friday on a resolution condemning Israeli settlements. The Palestinians are calling for a U.N. Security Council vote Friday on a resolution condemning Israeli settlements.Riyad Mansour, the Palestinian U.N. observer, announced the move late Wednesday after it was approved in a closed-door meeting of the 22-member Arab Group, which rejected a compromise proposal by the United States.Diplomats said the United States had proposed a weaker Security Council statement, promised to include language sought by the Palestinians in the next communique of the Quartet of Mideast peacemakers and to support a council visit to the Middle East.Friday's vote puts the Obama administration in a difficult position because a veto would anger the Palestinians and its many supporters while an abstention would anger the Israelis.Hmmmmm......Lets see what "They don't trust me because of my middle name does"?Read the full story here.

  • HT:Debka. Two Iranian warships transit Suez for Syria, tighten siege on Israel.Twenty-four hours after Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said the Egyptian upheaval had no military connotations for Israel, the Iranian frigate Alvand and cruiser Kharg transited the Suez Canal on their way to Syria Wednesday night, Feb. 16. Their passage was termed "a provocation" by Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman. In Beirut, Hizballah leader Hassan Nasrallah said he was looking forward to Israel going to war on Lebanon because then his men would capture Galilee.debkafile's military sources report that Iran is rapidly seizing the fall of the Mubarak regime in Cairo and the Saudi King Abdullah's falling-out with President Barack Obama as an opportunity not to be missed for establishing a foothold along the Suez Canal and access to the Mediterranean for six gains:

  1. To cut off, even partially, the US military and naval Persian Gulf forces from their main route for supplies and reinforcements.
  2. To establish an Iranian military-naval grip on the Suez Canal, through which 40 percent of the world's maritime freights pass every day.
  3. To bring an Iranian military presence close enough to menace the Egyptian heartland of Cairo and the Nile Delta and squeeze it into joining the radical Iranian-Syrian-Iraqi-Turkish alliance.
  4. To thread a contiguous Iranian military-naval line from the Persian Gulf to the Red Sea through the Suez Canal and the Gaza Strip and up to the ports of Lebanon, where Hizballah has already seized power and toppled the pro-West government.
  5. To eventually sever the Sinai Peninsula from Egypt, annex it to the Gaza Strip and establish a large Hamas-ruled Palestinian state athwart the Mediterranean, the Gulf of Aqaba and the Red Sea.By comparison, a Fatah-led Palestinian state on the West Bank within the American orbit be politically and strategically inferior.
  6. To tighten the naval and military siege on Israel.Hmmmm......The glove has been thrown down, will Israel pick it up?The consequences could be enormous.Read the full story here.

  • Nasrallah - 'Hezbollah will conquer Galilee if there is war'. Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah said on Wednesday that he is ready for another war with Israel, AFP reported."I tell the fighters of the resistance that one day they might be asked to liberate the Galilee," Nasrallah said at a "Resistance Martyrs Day" ceremony."The Israelis are afraid," Nasrallah said. "I want to assure you and tell the Israelis that they should be careful because the blood of Imad Mugniyeh will not go to waste.""Gantz came to visit the Lebanon border - welcome," Nasrallah said, referring to the new IDF chief of staff. "He is the one that was defeated and pulled IDF troops out of Lebanon. You have a completely weak chief of staff."The Hezbollah leader also discussed Israel's reactions to the protests across the Middle East, citing Defense Minister Ehud Barak's assessment that the Middle East is "changing in front of our eyes."Nasrallah added that Israel is no longer as confident as it once was.He explained that the Middle East's main problem is "the existence of Israel...that killed and slaughtered, confiscated the lands and kicked people put, with sponsorship from the West.""Israel is the one that expanded toward Lebanon and Syria," Nasrallah said.Speaking to US President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hilary Clinton, Nasrallah said that "justice means that property should be returned to its owners. In light of such justice, there will be stability in the region. However, searching for justice through peace talks cannot achieve peace."Nasrallah also lamented the relationship between the US and Israel, saying "the US categorizes you in the 'axis of evil' if you are against Israel. When an Arab or Islamic system does not give in [to the US] it becomes isolated." He expressed admiration for the Iranian revolution, that "kicked the Americans out and severed relations with Israel."Hmmmm.....The result of the Obama presidency of bowing and bashing allies. The weak are never respected in the Middle East!Read the full story here.

  • Respect MAJORITY rights: Judges throw out appeal by Muslim men who hurled abuse at soldiers' welcome home parade. The focus on minority rights 'should not result in overlooking the rights of the majority' when it comes to freedom of speech, the High Court said today. Two judges were rejecting appeals by five Muslim men who staged a protest as British soldiers who had recently returned from Afghanistan paraded through Luton. They ruled that the protests, which included accusing the troops of being 'rapists, murderers and baby killers', went well beyond 'legitimate expressions of protest'.The five men demonstrated against the Iraq and Afghanistan wars as the Second Battalion the Royal Anglian Regiment, known as the Poachers, made its way through the city on March 10 2009.They were all convicted of public order offences by Luton Magistrates' Court.Jalal Ahmed, 22, Munim Abdul, 29, Yousaf Bashir, 30, Shajjadar Choudhury, 32, and Ziaur Rahman, 33, all from Luton, were found guilty of using threatening, abusive or insulting words likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress. The men had appealed to the High Court in London, arguing that they had been legitimately exercising their Article 10 rights to freedom of expression and to protest under the European Convention on Human Rights.Rejecting their appeal, Lord Justice Gross said today: 'There was all the difference in the world between expressing the view that the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were illegal or immoral and that British forces should not be engaged in them and the abusive and insulting chants of the appellants.'In a ruling which will provide guidance for future similar cases, the judge said: To attend a parade of this nature and to shout that this country's soldiers were 'murderers', 'baby killers', 'rapists all of you' who would or should 'burn in hell' gave rise to a very clear threat to public order.'The judge said it was the good fortune of the five, 'most probably attributable to skilful policing', that there was no serious outbreak of violence.Hmmmmm..........Lets see if the judges will keep following the majority rule?Read the full story here.

  • CMS Official Confirms That Four States Have Been Granted ObamaCare Waivers. An Obama administration official on Wednesday confirmed that four states -- including Florida, Tennessee and Ohio -- have been granted waivers from the regulatory requirements of the national health care law.Steve Larsen, director of the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, confirmed the news under questioning from Rep. Cliff Stearns at an oversight hearing for the House Energy and Commerce committee.According to Larsen, the waivers have been granted to states that have programs allowing or requiring the kind of limited medical coverage plans that would otherwise be prohibited by ObamaCare. He said the waivers are good for one year and would not neccesarily apply to all plans in the states outside the state-based programs. While he said there was also a fourth state that was granted a waiver, he could not recall off the top of his head which state.Hmmmm.......Why not give a waiver to all 50 states and get it burried?Read the full story here.

  • Hundreds of Libyan protesters demanding removal of Gaddafi clash with riot police in fresh Arab uprising.Hundreds of demonstrators demanding change in Libya and the overthrow of long-time leader Muammar Gaddafi clashed with police and security forces today as protests continued to sweep through the Middle East.At least 38 people are said to have been hurt as protesters armed with stones and petrol bombs fought with police, who fired rubber bullets, water cannons and tear gas in the city of Benghazi, 600 miles east of the Libyan capital Tripoli. The protests are the worst so far to hit a country that has been ruled unchallenged for 40-years by Colonel Gaddafi - and sparked immediate orchestrated counter demonstrations by government supporters. As in the uprisings that toppled long-time autocratic rulers in two countries flanking Libya - Egypt and Tunisia - Libyan activists are using social networking websites like Facebook and Twitter to rally people in their homeland and have called for a 'major protest' tomorrow. But in a clear warning, a senior Libyan official said the authorities would 'not allow' a small group of people to 'play with the security of Libya.'While small compared with those that have seen neighbouring leaders toppled, observers said the Benghazi protests were 'significant' because they represented the first challenge to the hardline Tripoli administration.Hmmmm.......It seems this policy of "Outreach to Muslims" is really bearing fruits now. He's been so obsessed with his Peaceplan for Israel and Palestine that the rest of the Middle East is blowing up in his face.Read the full story here.

On behalf of the demonstrators, he demanded the release of political prisoners and the "burning" of corruption, and that citizenship not be given to foreigners. He added that the rejection of these demands would harm the government.Mohammad Hassan Rahimian, Khamenei's representative in the Martyrs Institute in Iran, said that Khamenei's status in the world will become stronger, and that half of the MPs in Bahrain conduct themselves according to his rulings. In response to the Bahrain events and the deaths of two demonstrators, yesterday Bahraini King Hamed bin 'Issa Aal Khalifa appointed the deputy prime minister to establish a commission to investigate the events.Read the full story here.

  • US envoy's tough talk draws tough response from Turkish officials. The new U.S. envoy to Ankara, who criticized Turkey late Tuesday for detaining journalists while saying it supports freedom of speech, has been slammed by ruling party officials for “interfering” in domestic affairs.“Ambassadors cannot interfere in domestic issues. They have limits,” Hüseyin Çelik, the deputy leader and spokesman for the ruling Justice and Development Party, or AKP, told reporters Wednesday. “Whether this is the U.S. or the Russian ambassador, they have to adhere to the limits."“Journalists are being detained on the one hand, while addresses about freedom of speech are given on the other. We do not understand this, so we ask you,” Ricciardone said, adding that he does “not have full knowledge of the details,” but is “following the process closely.”The offices of Oda TV and the homes of its owner, the well-known journalist Soner Yalçın, and several staff members were raided Monday by Istanbul police based on suspected links to the alleged Ergenekon gang, which is accused of planning to topple the government by staging a coup, initially by spreading chaos and mayhem.“Turkey wants a free press. Turkish people want a critical press even if it is a dissident one. The opposition parties and the government say they support freedom of the press,” Ricciardone. “The Turkish people’s opinion is important. Freedom of the press and freedom of speech are vital for Turkey, the United States and the people of this region.”Deputy AKP leader Çelik also criticized the journalists’ decision to pose such questions to a foreign ambassador. “We have this habit: We ask in-season and out-of-season questions. And when we get a reply, we ask others why he or she has spoken this way,” he said. “OK, but why do you ask questions? I mean, why do you ask questions to irrelevant people?”The country’s main opposition, however, expressed approval of Ricciardone’s statement on press freedom. “The mission of the envoys is to closely follow the developments in the countries they are appointed to and inform their governments. If need be, the ambassadors also express openly their opinions. Is it possible for him not to make any observations when these things are happening?” Osman Korutürk, deputy leader of the Republican People’s Party, or CHP, told the Hürriyet Daily News & Economic Review on Wednesday.Saying the U.S. envoy’s observation is shared by ambassadors from other countries as well, Korutürk added: “We are a candidate country to the European Union. It’s very normal for the ambassadors of EU countries and other countries to speak about deficiencies in terms of democracy and human rights.”Hmmmmm......."I mean, why do you ask questions to irrelevant people?"Does this even sound as a NATO ally?Calling the US Embassador "irrelevant people"?Sounds more and more like Iran talking.Get Turkey out of NATO NOW !Read the full story here.

  • HT:NDTV.503 women publicly flogged in Bangladesh.Dhaka: A demand to prohibit the Muslim clergy from issuing fatwa is gathering momentum in Bangladesh as 503 women have been subjected to public flogging since the year 2000.The issuing of religious edicts has not yet been banned. The high court declared it illegal in 2001; speakers said at a roundtable titled "No more fatwa" here Sunday. Speakers urged the government to make issuance of fatwa a punishable offence since 503 women have fallen victim to it. "Fatwa means legal opinion. Only court can give legal opinions. The man who announces fatwa has no legal authority to do it," Justice Mohammad Gholam Rabbani said referring to the judgment he passed in 2001."Fatwa should be made punishable as it goes against the existing law of our country," he was quoted as saying by The Daily Star. Largest selling Bengali language daily Prothom Alo arranged the roundtable following last month's death of a teenage girl from Shariatpur near here, who was raped by a neighbour and then whipped a 100 times after a fatwa was issued. She could not take more than about 80 lashes and fell unconscious, eyewitnesses told media. She died a day later in hospital. The case caused a national outcry after it was found that the police and the hospital colluded with the family of the alleged rapist to deny that there was any wrongdoing. The Dhaka High Court has ordered reopening of the case and multiple probes against the police and the hospital authorities.Bangladesh Mahila Parishad President Ayesha Khanam said the incident of the teenager who was whipped to death brings the social system, state machinery and performance of law enforcers into question.Hmmmm.......Imam Rauf "Sharia is the same as the US constitution".Read the full story here.

  • Egyptian youth group: Halt gas shipments to Israel.April 6 youth movement says if military doesn't meet our demands, "we'll be on the street again"; says army still loyal to Mubarak. Among the group's demands - one that breaks with the stated policy of the military government - was the halting of natural gas shipments to Israel, citing what it called Israel's mistreatment of Palestinians, according to the report. The youth movement, along with 10 other democracy activist groups, was scheduled to meet with Egypt's ruling Armed Forces Supreme Council later in the day, USA Today reported.Tarek el-Khouly said that his group met with the military earlier in the week but did not make any demands at that time, according to the report. Because it has since become disillusioned with the pace of change taking place in Egypt, Khouly said, they will now make formal demands in the meeting.Speaking of the military commanders running Egypt's temporary government, he said: "At the end of the day, they're [deposed Egyptian president Hosni] Mubarak's appointees and loyal to him. The proof is he's still in Sharm e-Sheikh under their protection." Previewing one of April 6's demands, he added, "We want him held accountable," USA Today reported.Among its other demands, Khouly said that a transitional and technocratic civilian government must be immediately appointed, and restrictions on freedom of speech, freedom of association and forming political parties be lifted without delay, according to the report.Hmmmmm......Democracy?Read the full story here.

  • Bibi to Nasrallah: Stay in your bunker.PM takes jab at Hezbollah leader, who earlier threatened to take over northern Israel in future war. 'Anyone who's hiding in a bunker should say in the bunker," Netanyahu says, expresses confidence in IDF.Israeli response to Hezbollah: Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used his speech Wednesday evening at the Conference of Presidents in Jerusalem to send a personal message to Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, urging him to stay in his bunker. Earlier Wednesday, Nasrallah threatened to take over Israel's Galilee region in a future war, and also explicitly threatened to harm senior Israeli figures. While delivering his English-language speech to American Jewish leaders, Netanyahu switched to Hebrew, saying: "Anyone who's hiding in a bunker should stay in the bunker." "Nobody should doubt Israel's or our ability to defend ourselves," the prime minister added. "We have a powerful army. We want peace with all our neighbors, yet the IDF is prepared to powerfully defend Israel against all our enemies."Prime Minister Netanyahu stressed that the West is interested in seeing a free, democratic and peace-seeking Egypt that looks forward to the future. However, he warned that Iranian leaders wish to see another kind of Egypt, which tramples on human rights and is dominated by Tehran. "They don't want an Egypt that looks into the 21st Century, but rather, an Egypt that looks back to the 9th Century," he said.Hmmmmm......And what does Obama and Erdogan want?Read the full story here.

  • Jordan: Muslims demand ban on nightclubs.Group of 109 Jordanian scholars, clerics also want 'laws that fight all anti-Islamic acts'.Dozens of Muslim scholars are demanding the closure of nightclubs and discotheques in Jordan, saying such entertainment erodes the nation's morals.Jordan's largest opposition group, the Muslim Brotherhood, has made such demands in the past. However, Wednesday's call was joined by dozens of independent clergymen, a sign that the idea is becoming more popular in Muslim circles. The appeal is not binding for Jordan's pro-Western government which says nightclubs and discos are necessary to maintain a flow of foreign tourists, a key source of revenue. "We demand the government close all nightclubs, which work under the pretext of promoting tourism," 109 clerics, among them a former cabinet minister, MPs, Islamist leaders, university professors and mosque preachers, said in the joint statement."We also demand the authorities combat prostitution and brothels, and introduce laws that fight all anti-Islamic and unethical acts which destroy our society," the statement said.Hmmmm..........Muslim brotherhood anyone?Read the full story here

  • Another full scale assault on the Second Amendment.Bloomberg Launches Driving Campaign For Gun-Control Laws.New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, co-chair of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, appeared on "Good Morning America" Wednesday to announce a new campaign to raise national awareness regarding flaws the coalition of 550 U.S. mayors sees in the federal system of background checks for firearm purchases.Displaying a tally of the number of Americans killed with guns since January's Tucson, Ariz., shootings, the "National Drive to Fix Gun Checks" truck will spend two months driving across at least 25 states, Bloomberg said. That includes stops to meet with local leaders, law-enforcement officials and victims of gun violence -- the first in Newark on Wednesday afternoon at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, for an event hosted by Mayor Cory Booker."Every day, 34 Americans are murdered with guns, and most of them are purchased or possessed illegally," Bloomberg said in a statement on Wednesday. "It is time for Washington to take action: since the Tucson shooting more than 1,300 people have been killed with guns in the United States and that number continues to grow."The drive, which began Wednesday morning in New York City's Times Square, will be led by Omar Samaha, whose sister, Reema, was killed during the Virginia Tech shootings in April 2007. • Developping!Egypt Vice President Omar Suleiman was Target of Assassination Attempt That Killed Two Bodyguards.A failed assassination attempt on Egypt's vice president in recent days left two of his bodyguards dead, U.S. sources tell Fox News, though that information has yet to be confirmed on the ground in Cairo.Such an attempt on the life of Omar Suleiman would mark an alarming turn in the uprising against the government of President Hosni Mubarak, who only recently named Suleiman as vice president in an effort to quell the unrest and possibly line up a successor.White House Press Secretary Baghdad Bob Robert Gibbs declined to address the assassination reports when asked by Fox News."I'm not going to ... get into that question," Gibbs said.Hmmmm.....This is the "Normal" course of events once Islamic extremists get involved!Read the full story here.

  • WikiLeaks reveals Obama sold out Great Britain by giving Russia Britain’s nuclear secrets.WikiLeaks cables: US agrees to tell Russia Britain's nuclear secrets. The US secretly agreed to give the Russians sensitive information on Britain’s nuclear deterrent to persuade them to sign a key treaty, The Daily Telegraph can disclose.Information about every Trident missile the US supplies to Britain will be given to Russia as part of an arms control deal signed by President Barack Obama next week. Defence analysts claim the agreement risks undermining Britain’s policy of refusing to confirm the exact size of its nuclear arsenal. The fact that the Americans used British nuclear secrets as a bargaining chip also sheds new light on the so-called “special relationship”, which is shown often to be a one-sided affair by US diplomatic communications obtained by the WikiLeaks website. Details of the behind-the-scenes talks are contained in more than 1,400 US embassy cables published to date by the Telegraph, including almost 800 sent from the London Embassy, which are published online today. The documents also show that: America spied on Foreign Office ministers by gathering gossip on their private lives and professional relationships.Although the treaty was not supposed to have any impact on Britain, the leaked cables show that Russia used the talks to demand more information about the UK’s Trident missiles, which are manufactured and maintained in the US. Washington lobbied London in 2009 for permission to supply Moscow with detailed data about the performance of UK missiles. The UK refused, but the US agreed to hand over the serial numbers of Trident missiles it transfers to Britain. Professor Malcolm Chalmers said: “This appears to be significant because while the UK has announced how many missiles it possesses, there has been no way for the Russians to verify this. Over time, the unique identifiers will provide them with another data point to gauge the size of the British arsenal.” Duncan Lennox, editor of Jane’s Strategic Weapons Systems, said: “They want to find out whether Britain has more missiles than we say we have, and having the unique identifiers might help them.”While the US and Russia have long permitted inspections of each other’s nuclear weapons, Britain has sought to maintain some secrecy to compensate for the relatively small size of its arsenal.Hmmmm.......Who else did the "Commander in chief" sell out ?Benedict Arnold is nodding in approval? And then he's suprised he's not welcome at the royal wedding?Read the full story here.HT:BNI.

  • Mandarin One? Chinese firm in talks to supply Obama's new helicopter. After Air Force One, it is one of the world's best known aircraft. For more than 30 years America's presidents have been ferried to and from the White House by the iconic Marine One helicopter, made by Sikorsky in Connecticut. But maybe not for much longer. A rival chopper is being proposed, and to rub salt into the wound it's made by the United States' new global rival, China. The manufacturer of China’s new stealth fighter aircraft is working with a small Californian firm to bid together for U.S. defence contracts – including supplying the U.S. president’s helicopter. It comes at a time of growing American concern about the Far East country's expanding armed forces.AVIC is looking at offering China's largest domestically-produced helicopter, the AC-313, to replace the ageing Marine One used by the president, according to reports. The current Marine One fleet consists of 11 large Sikorsky helicopters introduced in 1976 and eight smaller Sikorsky models, which came into service in 1989. Sikorsky is an American company based in Stratford, Connecticut. The U.S. Navy awarded a contract for a replacement helicopter fleet six years ago, to be delivered before 2014 by an American team lead by Lockheed Martin Corporation. But the cost ballooned four years on, and President Obama cancelled the contract, asking the Navy to find a cheaper alternative.Hmmmm.....Knowing how he Apologises for America, it's not difficult to imagine a Manchurian President to fly "Manchurian One".Read the full story here.

  • HT:NewsBusters.Chris Matthews: Disloyal Obama Makes Him “Feel Ashamed As An American”….MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews appeared on Morning Joe, Friday, to slam President Obama’s handling of the escalating crisis in Egypt, saying it made him “ashamed as an American.” Matthews, who famously declared Obama gave him a “thrill” up his leg, excoriated what he perceived to be the President’s disloyalty to Egypt’s leader, Hosni Mubarak. The Hardball host berated, “And Barack Obama, as much I support him in many ways, there is a transitional quality to the guy that is chilling.” He added, “I believe in relationships…You treat your friends a certain way. You’re loyal to them.”Matthews has previously lauded the authoritarian Mubarak. Pointing out Mubarak’s stand against Hezbollah and other extremist elements in the region, the anchor on January 31 wondered, “How can you say he’ll easily be replaced? • HT:WZ.Pres. Obama Watching Al Jazeera at White House. The Daily Beast just posted an “exclusive” look inside the White House’s “scramble” to find the right response to the unfolding crisis in Egypt this week. The short version is that the crisis caught U.S. intelligence off guard and they were slow to react. But here’s the line that jumped out at me.That’s right, even the President of the United States is watching Al Jazeera. Needless to say this is a far cry from the time (just two years ago!) thatColin Powell declared on Meet the Press that “those kind of images going out on Al Jazeera are killing us.”Now, huddled in the big office of their boss—one of the administration policy-makers trying to calibrate the U.S. response to the unfolding drama—the advisers watched Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s first statement. • Arab League chief says he may run for Egyptian presidency.Arab League chief Amr Moussa, a former Egyptian foreign minister, said Friday he might run for his country's presidency but said he thought President Hosni Mubarak would remain in power until September."I do not think he (Mubarak) will leave. I think he will stay until the end of August," he told France's Europe 1 radio. Mubarak has said he will not bow to the massive anti-government protests sweeping Egypt and step down immediately but will stay on until elections due in September in which he said he will not run for a sixth term.Moussa, asked if he would stand in the next elections in Egypt, replied: "Why say no?" "I am of course at the service of my country... I am ready to serve as a citizen who has the right to be a candidate," he said.He added that he would also be happy to join a transition government if one emerged to replace Mubarak's regime. His comments came as Egyptian protesters massed for "departure day" demonstrations to force the 82-year-old veteran president to step down.Read the full story here.

  • HT:JudicialWatch.Obamacare Moratorium?A decision by a federal court in Florida sent shock waves through the Obama administration on Monday. Judge Roger Vinson ruled the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare as it is commonly known, unconstitutional in a consolidated lawsuit that involved 26 states challenging the law.According to The Los Angeles Times: “A federal judge in Florida dealt President Obama's healthcare overhaul a sweeping blow Monday, ruling the law unconstitutional because of its requirement that Americans have health insurance starting in 2014.”Judge Vinson did not mince words in his summary judgment:It is difficult to imagine that a nation which began, at least in part, as the result of opposition to a British mandate giving the East India Company a monopoly and imposing a nominal tax on all tea sold in America would have set out to create a government with the power to force people to buy tea in the first place. If Congress can penalize a passive individual for failing to engage in commerce, the enumeration of powers in the Constitution would have been in vain for it would be “difficult to perceive any limitation on federal power” [Lopez, supra, 514 U.S. at 564], and we would have a Constitution in name only. Sure this is not what the Founding Fathers could have intended.Indeed, the Florida court Monday found that the whole of the Obamacare law is void as a result of its individual mandate being unconstitutional. U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson wrote, "Because the individual mandate is unconstitutional and not severable, the entire Act (Obamacare) must be declared void."In addition to Virginia, 25 other states have sued to strike down the law in a consolidated case now before a federal court in Florida. Virtually everyone agrees the constitutional challenges are destined for the U.S. Supreme Court a year or two from now.Congress cannot afford to wait until then. It must impose an immediate moratorium on Obamacare now, until the weighty constitutional concerns at issue are resolved in the courts. As it stands, many of the supposed "benefits" of Obamacare's individual mandate and other provisions won't be realized until 2014. And yet, as the law winds its way through the lower courts, American health care consumers and taxpayers are already experiencing significant financial pains through skyrocketing premiums and phased-in taxes that began this year and will cost $502 billion over the next 10 years.Hmmmmm......Dump that hydra called "Obamacare" in the deepest mineshaft of the land and seal it for eternity.Read the full story here.

It was a month when Hashemite King Hussein of Jordan moved to quash the militancy of Palestinian organizations and restore his monarchy's rule over the country. The violence resulted in the deaths of thousands of people, the vast majority Palestinian.Armed conflict lasted until July 1971 with the expulsion of the PLO and thousands of Palestinian fighters to Lebanon.Hmmmm.....When it comes to true grit they could learn a thing or two from that 82 year old man named Mubarak!Cowardness and Courage both start with the letter C ! • House Republicans Planning Investigation Into Obama Regime Granting Over 700 Waivers to ObamaCare Rules…The Republican congressman leading the investigation into the Obama administration’s decision to grant more than 700 waivers to the new health care law is questioning whether the law could be effective if so many waivers are needed. Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.) also noted the high percentage of Obama-supporting labor unions that received waivers -- which exempt them from a provision in the new health care law that bans annual limits on what insurance plans will pay for medical coverage.“The American people repeatedly have been told that the new health care law is an effective and responsible plan for overhauling the nation’s health care system,” Rep. Stearns told CNSNews.com in a statement. “Yet, if the law is so good, why are so many waivers to the law being granted?”Stearns is chairman of the subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations for the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which is investigating the waivers granted to various companies, unions, non-profit organizations and states and municipalities.CNSNews.com has reported that the United Federation of Teachers, representing New York City School Teachers, is the largest recipient of waivers so far. • Google Earth finds Saudi Arabia's forbidden archaeological secrets! An armchair archaeologist has identified nearly 2,000 potentially important sites in Saudi Arabia using Google Earth, despite never having visited the country.David Kennedy, a professor of classics and ancient history at the University of Western Australia, used Google Earth satellite maps to pinpoint 1,977 potential archaeological sites, including 1,082 teardrop shaped stone tombs. "I've never been to Saudi Arabia," Dr Kennedy said. "It's not the easiest country to break into." Dr Kennedy told New Scientist that he had verified the images showed actual archaeological sites by asking a friend working in the Kingdom to photograph the locations. The use of aerial and satellite imaging has been used in Britain to locate Iron Age and Roman sites in Britain, as well as Nazca lines in Peru and Mayan ruins in Belize. But few archaeologists have been given access to Saudi Arabia, which has long been hostile to the discipline. Hardline clerics in the kingdom fear that it might focus attention on the civilisations which flourished there before the rise of Islam – and thus, in the long term, undermine the state religion. In 1994, a council of Saudi clerics was reported to have issued an edict asserting that preserving historical sites "could lead to polytheism and idolatry" – both punishable, under the Kingdom's laws, by death. Saudi Arabia's rulers have, in recent years, allowed archaeologists to excavate some sites, including the spectacular but little-known ruins of Maidan Saleh, a 2,000 old city which marked the southern limits of the powerful Nabataean civilisation. For the most part, though, access to ancient sites has been severely restricted.Read and see the fullstory here.

He killed his cellmate by strangulation when the 23-year-old man refused to participate in the activity.Salek Hilami then attempted to escape the psychiatric wing of the prison by taking four people hostage with a razor blade.Namur’s public prosecutor said that Hilami placed scarves around the necks of two of the hostages, buried in which were more razorblades. The inmate then reportedly pulled on the scarves to cut off air supply of his victims. The prosecutor said that the razorblades would have had dramatic consequences had they entered the victims necks. • German state risks Muslim anger after becoming first in the country to ban the burka.A German state yesterday became the first region in the country to ban Muslim women from wearing burkas. The country has been gripped for several months by an angry debate on multiculturalism with many Germans voicing their concerns over immigration.Hesse, a state run by Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats, has now became the first German region to ban Muslim face veils for public sector workers.Hesse Interior Minister Boris Rheinsaid it was 'not acceptable' for a teacher in Frankfurt to wear a face veil because 'public sector workers are obligated to have neutral religious and political views'.The decision was prompted by a local teacher who had told her school she wanted to wear a burka in the classroom after returning from maternity leave. She had not previously worn one.In a landmark speech, she broke one of Germany’s last taboos and courted anti-immigration support by claiming those from a different background failed to live happily side-by-side with native Germans. She said that the concept where people would 'live side-by-side' did not work and immigrants needed to do more to integrate.Merkel followed the speech with more comments a short time later by saying that more immigrants should work for the state.Germany's former central banker, Thilo Sarrazin, inflamed opinion by claiming that Arabs sponged off the state and refused to integrate.Sarrazin's controversial book 'Germany Does Away With Itself' has added to the anti-Islamic feelings in Germany. In particular he singles out Muslims for failing to integrate and having low IQs.‘Muslims immigrants don’t integrate as well as other immigrant groups across Europe. The reasons for this are apparently not based on their ethnicity, but are rooted in their culture of Islam,’ he told Welt am Sonntag.Since then some of of Merkel's conservatives become more critical of Muslims, who make up an estimated 4 million of Germany's 82 million population.Hmmmm.....Just look at the Numbers how democratic is it when a minority dictates a majority?Read the full story here.

  • 'Dating site' takes pictures and names of 250,000 unsuspecting Facebook users.Creators of a fake dating site have taken personal information from 250,000 Facebook profiles - and reproduced it without the knowledge of the members of the popular social networking site.Lovely-faces.com uses the names and photos of Facebook members and then gives users the option to 'arrange a date' with the unsuspecting volunteers - which leads them to the original profile page of the person. The unwitting people have been grouped into smarmy categories, such as 'Smug Women' and 'Climber Men', on the site - which is apparently an art project to highlight the dangers of social networking sites. The creators, Paolo Cirio and Alessandro Ludovic, have tried to justify their actions by claiming that the site is a merely a bid to magnify the breach of privacy permitted by Facebook.'Facebook, an endlessly cool place for so many people, becomes at the same time a goldmine for identity theft and dating - unfortunately, without the user’s control. But that’s the very nature of Facebook and social media in general,' a statement on their website said.'If we start to play with the concepts of identity theft and dating, we should be able to unveil how fragile a virtual identity given to a proprietary platform can be.'Scraping people’s information violates our terms. • HT:Newsmax.Israel Prepares for Islamic Terror State Rising from Egypt's Ashes.Israel is bracing for the establishment of an Iranian proxy-state in Egypt should the Muslim Brother take over control of the government, as appears increasingly likely. With the White House now giving full-throated support to the Muslim Brotherhood, and Egyptian vice-president Omar Suleiman scheduled to meet with the Muslim Brotherhood leadership in Cairo, Israel is preparing for the worst. After years of ducking from Iranian-supplied Kassam rockets from Gaza, Israelis now fear their cities and towns could get hit with the full brunt of the Iranian arsenal as Iran replaces the United States as Egypt’s main arms supplier.A Muslim Brotherhood takeover could lead to the imposition of sharia law, with far-reaching implications for the rights of women, Christians and minorities, and dramatic changes in Egypt’s relationships to its neighbors.“They will cut relations with Israel immediately. Maybe they will capture some Israelis as happened in Tehran with the American embassy those days in 1979,” Kedar told Newsmax by telephone from Israel. “That is the bad scenario.”The most hopeful scenario involves a Muslim Brotherhood preoccupied with guaranteeing the livelihood of 85 million Egyptians and not wanting to engage in extremist acts or policies that would endanger Egypt’s alliances or its economy, Dr. Kedar said.“But whatever happens, the Muslim Brotherhood will have much to say about everything in Egypt no matter who is the leader – whether it’s [Vice president] Gen. Omar Suleiman, Mohamed ElBaradei, or someone else.”Rep. Allen West, a tea party freshman from Florida who has been named to the Armed Services Committee, tells Newsmax he has many concerns over President Obama’s handling of the crisis in Egypt.“In an uprising such as this, violent, dangerous factions emerge because they are strongest and gain power by intimidation,” Rep. West said. “President Obama needs to be more clear that the United States will only support a democratic and peaceful government in Egypt and be firm that groups like the Muslim Brotherhood have no place in the transition to a new Egyptian government. “In addition, “President Obama needs to keep the security of Israel as paramount. However, I have heard nothing from the president on his views and plans to alleviate what could be a very volatile and dangerous situation for Israel and the entire Middle East.”Netanyahu’s real fear is that Iran will use its influence on the Muslim Brotherhood to steer Egypt away from its peace treaty with Israel and into the camp of Muslim radicals.“The Iranian regime is not interested in seeing an Egypt that protects the rights of individuals, women, and minorities. They are not interested in an enlightened Egypt that embraces the 21st century. They want an Egypt that returns to the Middle Ages. They want Egypt to become another Gaza, run by radical forces that oppose everything that the democratic world stands for,” Netanyahu said.Hmmm......The Muslim brotherhood has the ear of Hussein.Read the full story here.

Frontpage Interview's guest today is Pamela Geller, founder, editor and publisher of the popular and award-winning weblog AtlasShrugs.com. She has won acclaim for her interviews with internationally renowned figures, including John Bolton, Geert Wilders, Bat Ye'or, Natan Sharansky, and many others, and has broken numerous important stories -- notably the questionable sources of some of the financing of the Obama campaign. Her op-eds have been published in The Washington Times, The American Thinker, Israel National News, Frontpage Magazine, World Net Daily, and New Media Journal, among other publications. She is the co-author (with Robert Spencer) of The Post-American Presidency: The Obama Administration's War on America.FP: Pamela Geller, welcome to Frontpage Interview.Well, perhaps for those who are familiar with your work and with your book, it is not a big surprise for them that Obama has endorsed a role for the Muslim Brotherhood in a new, post-Mubarak government for Egypt.I would like to narrow in with you today about the Muslim Brotherhood's penetration of the Obama administration. What can you tell us about this Islamist penetration of the White House?Obama has been secretly supporting this revolution for three years. Why? He ignored the people of Iran marching against the annihilationist mullahcracy of Iran. He gave his tacit support to mass slaughter where millions took to the streets.Anyone who, like Obama, sees a Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt as a good thing secretly dreams of the annihilation of Israel. Big media is not giving you the story. Instead they have the Muslim Brotherhood's U.S. group on, CAIR, calling in from Egypt (and mis-identifying Ahmed Rehab of CAIR as a "democracy activist"). And that was FOX. It's that bad.I don't believe Obama "lost Egypt"; I believe he kicked it to the curb.Hmmm.......Amen to that!Read the full interview here.

  • U.S. Pressure on Mubarak Opens a Rift With Arab Allies.WASHINGTON—President Barack Obama's attempt to abruptly push aside Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in favor of a transition government has sparked a rift with key Arab allies Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, which fear the U.S. is opening the door for Islamist groups to gain influence and destabilize the region.Vying to influence the outcome of events, Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E. have sent public and private messages of solidarity to Mr. Mubarak and his vice president, longtime intelligence chief Omar Suleiman, diplomats said. The messages amount to support for the president and Mr. Suleiman to oversee the transition and to ensure that Islamists can't fill any possible power vacuum. The support from Arab states has provided a measure of comfort to Mr. Mubarak, who announced he wouldn't take part in September's election. It may in part explain why the Egyptian president rebuffed Mr. Obama's call for an immediate transition that includes the opposition. The backlash shows how the turmoil in Egypt is rapidly reshaping U.S. policy in the region. In deciding to set itself against Mr. Mubarak, a U.S. ally for decades, the U.S. is now facing the disquiet of other friendly Arab governments, who have long provided support for American policy goals. Meanwhile, Islamists in the region, including Hamas and Hezbollah, believe they are on the ascent as U.S. allies falter.Such a scenario was one that defenders of the Middle East's status quo warned was possible, and shows how Mr. Obama's options were all, in some sense, unpalatable. It is unclear how much sway the Saudis have with Mr. Mubarak's regime in Cairo, given that the extent of its financial aid to Egypt isn't known. The U.S. gives Cairo about $2 billion a year. Egypt and Saudi Arabia are major trading partners, and experts say Saudi and Egyptian intelligence services have especially close ties. Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud has harshly criticized Egyptian protesters in a statement carried by the Saudi state news agency, describing them as "infiltrators" bent on destabilizing Egypt and the region, accusing them of "malicious sedition.""You don't need to read between the lines too much to see [the Saudis] are in favor of stability," said Richard Fontaine, an analyst with the Center for New American Security and a former adviser to Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona.Mr. Obama took a calculated risk by aligning himself this week with the opposition, which includes the powerful Muslim Brotherhood, a group banned by Cairo and long shunned by Washington because of concerns about its ties to Islamist extremism. U.S. officials acknowledge that Mr. Obama's decision to turn on Mr. Mubarak has raised ire in Arab states, which fear the U.S. could turn up the pressure on them next. The perception among key U.S. allies in the region is that the U.S. "threw Mubarak under the bus," a senior U.S. official said. "It is fair to say there is definitely concern." Hmmmm......Why would you upset all American allies unless you want to destroy America's influence in the Middle East. How great is his hatred for Israel really?Read the full story here.

  • HT:BigGovernment.Obama Administration Blocking 103 Gulf Drilling Permits. As oil prices continue to climb, a backlog of more than 100 offshore drilling plans for the Gulf of Mexico are awaiting approval from the Obama administration, according to federal data. The information reveals that the Obama administration — not the oil industry — is the culprit for the slowdown of drilling activity in the Gulf. The Gulf of Mexico accounts for more than 25 percent of domestic oil production.“These new findings prove that BOEMRE cannot claim it isn’t receiving job-creating plans from oil exploration and production companies,” said Gregory Rusovich, chairman of the Business Council of Greater New Orleans and the River Region. “The plans are there. Until BOEMRE reviews the 103 plans awaiting approval, our economy’s stability remains in jeopardy.”Every two weeks Greater New Orleans Inc. releases a Gulf Permit Index based on publicly available federal data. Thursday’s index revealed an 88 percent decline in deepwater permits compared to the historical average. Not a single deepwater permit was approved in January.Even shallow-water permits have taken a hit in the Gulf, despite not being subject to the administration’s moratorium last year. • HT:EmergingCorruption.First Obamacare Waivers Now EPA Rules Waivers. The Obama Administration is quickly becoming the most corrupt administration in American history. Recently we reported about the mounting number of waivers that Obama is giving his union pals and union supporters so that they can get away from having to suffer under his Obamacare law and now the president’s jobs-killing greenhouse gas rules levied upon the nation using his fiat EPA powers are also being set aside for his best buddies. Naturally, all those getting these big waivers were big donors to Obama’s campaign. At this point we are up to over 700 Obamacare waivers given to his union pals and other campaign donors and now the EPA has announced the first waiver for the new greenhouse gas rules that really haven’t even been implemented exactly yet.Timothy Carney reports that General Electric has been the lucky, lucky recipient of a waiver for Obama’s EPA rules. Yes, very lucky, indeed. This particular waiver was for a 600-megawatt power plant project in the San Joaquin Valley in California being built by General Electric. The project would have been nearly killed by the EPA’s new rules so the Obama administration decided to allow this project to be “grandfathered in” to the new greenhouse gases and air pollution restrictions. Now, can we recall just who Obama made a part of his administration? Why, yes, it is General Electric CEO Jeffrey Immelt. Only but a few weeks ago Immelt was appointed as Obama’s “jobs creation czar.”With this announcement and the revealed monumental number of Obamacare waivers already given, one wonders if a whole slew of EPA waiver will be soon to come from Obama for his buddies and their businesses?Hmmmm......The US government or the Chicago Mob?If ever a President needed to be impeached it's this one!A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves.Read the full scandal story here.Hmmmm......One Billion Dollar is a lot of money for a re-election ,what if every waiver recipient gave a large donation to the "cause"?

  • HT:WeeklyStandard.New York Times Capitalizes on Murder to Push Health Care Agenda. There's even more to the silliness of this Times story -- and it begins in the lede:Seconds after gunfire erupted outside a supermarket here last month, Randy Gardner, one of those struck during the barrage, said another looming crisis immediately entered his mind.“I wondered, ‘How much is this going to cost me?’ ” he said. “It was a thought that went through my head right away.”While most people, seconds after getting shot and watching others nearby getting shot, might think about their own well-being and the safety of those around them, the Times was able to find one person to talk about health care. And from there, the piece's political undertones come out : Ms. Giffords, who received a bullet wound to the head and was the most gravely injured of those who survived the shooting, also had probably the best insurance, a Congressional plan known for its comprehensive coverage that was held out as a model during last year’s debate over the health care overhaul.Hmmmm......"Together we thrive"On the murder of innocent people?Read the full story here.

  • HT:Intellicept3.Pakistan - in the last 9 years 13,972 women have been murdered.KARACHI - A seminar on violence against women and children expresses that it has become a norm in our society to devalue human life. Those who are gravely oppressed are surely the ones who suffer the most. Madadgaar Helpline, Pakistan’s first helpline for women and children, organised a seminar to share 10 years thought-provoking data on violence against women and children on Tuesday evening. Zia Ahmad Awan, founder LHRLA, said, “Domestic violence is a horrible crime, which is being committed at a larger scale in an unjust society of ours. We still have a feudal mindset that helps propagate ideas of dominance over others and in making others feel helpless towards us.” Sharing the data, he said; “Violence against women is predominant in Pakistan. Despite the growing recognition of violence against women as a public and human right concern as it poses obstacle in development, domestic violence continues to over shadow our lives.”Awan said that there were horrifying incidents of atrocities that men commit in this part of the world. As reported 75,039 cases of violence against women have been reported in the last 9 years while 13,972 women have been murdered. About 17,107 women have been subjected to torture and 452 women were raped and then murdered. Large attributes of violence are as such: lack of access to education and opportunity and low social status in communities are linked to violence against women. Violence by a close relative is one of the most common form of violence against women. Honour killing is still widespread in Pakistani society as per the data record.Hmmmm......Welcome to A.D. 620?Read the full story here.

So why is this not a federal hate crime? The Four Loko made him do it.Ahmed Mohamed, who was sentenced Friday to nearly six years in prison for the attack last year on a West Seattle teen, claimed the caffeine-infused energy beer he drank for the first time the night of the assault was partially to blame.Mohamed, 22, pleaded guilty last month to first-degree robbery with a deadly weapon and malicious harassment, the state’s hate-crime statute, for the attack on Shane McClellan on May 25.When the West Seattle teen, who turned 17 on Friday, stopped, Mohamed and Baquiring attacked him.For more than four hours, according to court documents, the two men punched McClellan, urinated on him, beat him with his own belt and burned him with cigarettes. They also poured Four Loko on the teen and taunted him by saying, “How do you like it, white boy?” and, “This is for enslaving our people,” according to the charges.Mohamed, who is black, said in his guilty plea that he and Baquiring targeted McClellan “because he was a different race than we are.” McClellan is white.Baquiring, who is Asian, has pleaded not guilty to the same charges and is scheduled to go to trial Feb. 22.Oh yeh, now I remember, I think there was something in the federal hate crime legislation that said that whites and Christians are not protected classes.Just think, in six years Ahmed Mohamed will be back on the street.Hmmmm......Welcome to Somalian style "justice".Read the full story here.

  • So much for respect: Two Muslim councillors refused to clap war hero. When a young Afghanistan war hero appeared before a city council, it seemed the right thing to give him a standing ovation.Lance Corporal Matthew Croucher, 26, had been awarded the George Cross for throwing himself on a Taliban hand grenade to save his comrades. He survived only because his backpack took the force of the blast. But to the horror of the rest of the council chamber, while most leapt to their feet to applaud him, two Muslim councillors remained firmly in their seats.Salma Yaqoob and Mohammed Ishtiaq, from the Respect party, insist that their refusal to clap the Royal Marine was a point of principle. But following the meeting at Birmingham City Council on Tuesday night, fellow councillors said they had grossly disrespected the soldier.Conservative Cllr John Lines said: ‘They should be ashamed of themselves.‘This was not the time or place to stage an anti-war protest – this man risked his life for his comrades.‘I was happy to give this hero a standing ovation and I have invited him to be guest of honour when we open new houses for ex-military personnel later this year.’Peter Douglas Osborn, another Conservative councillor, added: ‘As far as I am concerned it is no longer the Respect party, but the disrespect party.’Hmmmm.....How long before the same thing happens in the USA?Read the full story here.

  • HT:BigPeace.VMI Celebrates Muslim Invasion, Brutal 781-year Occupation of Spain.Stonewall Jackson is rolling over in his grave.Next month his beloved Virginia Military Institute will be convening a celebration commemorating the 1300th anniversary of the invasion and occupation of Spain under the Muslim warlord Tariq ibn Ziyad in 711 A.D. The March 23-25 celebration entitled “711-2011: East Meets West” and organized by VMI’s Center for Leadership and Ethics, is scheduled to feature standard Muslim apologists Reza Aslan and Akbar Ahmed. VMI Superintendent Gen. J.H. Binford Peay has even filmed an invitation to the celebration.Reza Aslan is scheduled to speak on a panel entitled “‘Al-Andalus’ – an ageless Model of Tolerance“, but it is doubtful that Aslan and his co-panelists will be discussing the widespread persecution of Christians and Jews under Muslim rule that led to the establishment of an entirely new class of Roman Catholic martyrs, “the Cordoba martyrs“, or the 1066 massacre of Jews and crucifixion their leader Joseph ha-Nagid in “tolerant” Cordoba. The great Jewish scholar Maimonides and his family fled “tolerant” Cordoba after the Muslim conquest of the city in 1148, when the new occupiers gave Jews the option of converting to Islam, death or exile.Restoring ‘“Al-Andalus’ – an ageless Model of Tolerance” has been the stated goal of Al-Qaeda (Reza Aslan and Al-Qaeda – together at last!).VMI’s “East Meets West” celebration will also include an address by Hussein Hassouna, representative of the Arab League to the US, whose boss, Amr Moussa, has demanded that Muslims be allowed to conduct services inside the cathedral in Cordoba. Yet when Pope Benedict visited the occupied Hagia Sophia in Istanbul in November 2006, his visit was met with widespread protests by Turks afraid that Benedict might attempt to pray inside the conquered and occupied ancient cathedral.Hmmmm.......Next they're going to say the Crusaders were evil demons and the peaceful Muslims were just knitting and playing checkmate.Read the full story here.

But today that is such a distant memory that we don't even remember what "the land of the free and the home of the brave" actually means anymore. Our lives are constrained by literally millions of laws, rules and regulations and it gets worse every single day. The federal government, state governments, local governments and even homeowners associations have become absolutely tyrannical. There is a "law" or a "rule" for almost everything now, and many of them are absolutely ridiculous. Big Brother is ripping our liberties and freedoms away from us at a blistering pace. Just about any activity that you can think of other than sitting completely still in utter silence in your own home is tightly regulated by government. This is not what our founding fathers intended. There are so many laws, rules and regulations out there today that nobody can possibly know them all, much less keep them all. Unfortunately, politics tends to keep attracting new crops of control freaks that are eager to impose even more ridiculous laws on all of us.We have become so tightly controlled and so tightly restrained that there is very little room for any real freedom in America today. Do our politicians even know what they mean when they give speeches about "liberty" and "freedom" anymore? It is almost as if those two words have completely lost their meaning. The United States is supposed to be free, but instead we are being transformed into just another control freak society. Well, the truth is that the American people don't want to go down the path that the Europeans and the Chinese have gone.We want our liberties and our freedoms back. The following are 16 examples of how Big Brother is systematically ripping our liberties and freedoms away from us....Read the full story here.

  • HT:WestToTheWestWing.National security as it now stands: A must-read summary and forecast.I’m running this piece about Obama’s State of the Union address a bit belatedly, I admit, but before today, I did not know of this author, Michael Connelly, an army veteran and law professor in Texas. His brilliant, incisive assessment of our nation’s national security, written right before the civil unrest broke out in Egypt, is even more ominous now that we’re facing a potential Muslim Brotherhood takeover in that country.[W]hat struck me as the most worrisome aspect of the speech was not so much what Obama said, but what he didn’t say. In a sixty-two minute speech he waited until the last few minutes to even mention foreign policy and national security and when he did, he seemed to find the subject quite boring and mundane. While members of our armed forces are fighting and dying in Afghanistan and elsewhere every day to defeat the terrorist enemies who want to destroy us, the whole thing was just briefly and casually mentioned by our Commander in Chief. He did thank our troops for their sacrifices, while at the same time reassuring our enemies in Afghanistan that we will began withdrawing our troops later this year. I’m sure the applause among the Taliban and al-Qaida leaders who were watching the speech was much more enthusiastic than any applause by our members of Congress. The bottom line is that our country is being rendered defenseless by the people who are charged in the Constitution to protect our nation and its people. As a result, the violence on our borders will increase and our enemies will be encouraged to increase their efforts to attack us around the world and on our own soil. I’m afraid that this could be a very dangerous year for the people of the United States.Read the full story here.

  • White House, Egypt Discuss Plan for Mubarak’s Exit.WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is discussing with Egyptian officials a proposal for President Hosni Mubarak to resign immediately, turning over power to a transitional government headed by Vice President Omar Suleiman with the support of the Egyptian military, administration officials and Arab diplomats said Thursday.Even though Mr. Mubarak has balked, so far, at leaving now, officials from both governments are continuing talks about a plan in which Mr. Suleiman, backed by Lt. Gen. Sami Enan, chief of the Egyptian armed forces, and Field Marshal Mohamed Tantawi, the defense minister, would immediately begin a process of constitutional reform. The proposal also calls for the transitional government to invite members from a broad range of opposition groups, including the banned Muslim Brotherhood, to begin work to open up the country’s electoral system in an effort to bring about free and fair elections in September, the officials said.Hmmm.....The Muslim Brotherhood has found an ally in the White House?Et tu Hussein?Read the full story here.

  • European Commission proposes complete passenger data system to fight terrorism.BRUSSELS: The European Commission on Wednesday presented a proposal for a European Union (EU) Passenger Name Record (PNR) Directive to fight serious crime and terrorism. The proposal obliges air carriers to provide EU Member States with data on passengers entering or departing from the EU, whilst guaranteeing a high level of protection of privacy and personal data. The Commission lays down common rules for EU Member States to set up national PNR systems that carry data consisting of information provided by passengers and collected by carriers during the reservation and booking of the tickets and when checking in on flights. In practice many law enforcement authorities in Member States already collect PNR data on a case-by-case or on a flight-by-flight basis, but the proposal would allow for a more systematic use of the data for all relevant flights and across all Member States, avoiding uneven levels of protection of passengers' personal data, as well as security gaps, increased costs, and legal uncertainty for air carriers and passengers. The Commission is proposing that air carriers transfer data on passengers on international flights held in the carriers' reservation systems to a dedicated unit in the Member State of arrival or departure. Member States will analyze and retain the data for the purpose of preventing, detecting, investigating and prosecuting serious crime and terrorist offenses. It also proposes strong protection of privacy and personal data, as PNR data may not be used for any purpose except fighting serious crime and terrorist offenses. Law enforcement authorities in Member States must make the data anonymous 1 month after the flight, and data must not be retained for more than five years in total.Hmmmm......How about "Last minute bookings"?Read the full story here.

  • HT:Ansamed.MidEast :Gaza censorship the hunt is on for Anti -Islam books.GAZA, FEBRUARY 2 - Censorship has been introduced into the Gaza Strip controlled by the Hamas Islamic radicals in relation to the books of two of the most appreciated lay writers of Arab literature in recent years: Egyptian Alaa Al-Aswani, author of the best selling book 'Yacoubian building', and Syrian Haidar Haidar, both of whom in the past had already been targeted by the wrath of Mullahs around the world.A complaint was recently signed by activists of the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (Pchr), one of the most accredited local organisations working to protect civil rights.According to the Phcr, the hunt started a few days ago with raids in bookshops and libraries and the seizure of the mentioned books. The list includes among others Al-Aswani's 'Chicago' and one of Haidar best known works translated into English under the title 'Banquet for Seaweed'.A spokesperson for the Hamas police forces interviewed by ANSA stated that he was unaware of the situation and did not know of any directives on the matter. But the wave of seizures was confirmed in at least three of the largest bookshops located in Gaza City, including the one annexed to the headquarters of the Al-Azhar University. The undesired books were cleared out by scores of public officers working for the General investigation office who showed up with warrants and sales bans printed on Ministry of the Interior letterhead. The General investigation office is in charge of the local 'vice squad' which in the Gaza Strip acts as the custodian of Islamic moral values. The charges against the targeted books are without appeal, since they represent blaspheme texts that ''violate the Shaaria'', as stated in the warrant mentioned in the Pchr complaint against the event which asks for the ''immediate withdrawal'' of the alleged censorship measure. However this is not the first episode of the sort to take place in Gaza. Born as the Palestinian version of those Muslim Brothers who in neighbouring Egypt are behind the popular uprising that is hanging over Mubarak in these days, to date Hamas has cautiously played its radical stance in a society that has inherited less weak lay traits compared to most of the Arab world. But it did not fail to set up a progressive move towards Islam of the cultural, social and legal system, in addition to repressing the most active objectors. Hmmmm......How long before censorship and bookburning starts in Egypt?Read the full story here.

  • Shell Cancels Arctic Oil Drilling Plans for 2011.Shell Oil has canceled its plans to drill for oil in the Beaufort Sea north of Alaska in 2011, but will now set its sights on the summer of 2012. The company has run into repeated regulatory hurdles in its attempts to explore for oil in America's slice of the Arctic Ocean. Most recently, in late December 2010, the Environmental Appeals Board (EAB) sent air quality permits granted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) back to regulators for revision. Pete Slaiby, the VP of Shell Alaska, cited "tremendous uncertainty"—and frustration—during a press conference in Anchorage to announce the decision. The company has been seeking the required permits for the past five years. The EAB request cited two issues. First, at what point should the EPA start counting total emissions (when the drill ship arrives onsite, when it's ready to start drilling, or at some other point)? Secondly, what yardstick should the agency use to consider nitrogen dioxide emissions and their potential impact on local communities? Shell has committed to burning only ultra-low sulfur diesel on the project, and has installed emissions-reducing equipment on the Noble Discover to minimize its impact on the arctic airshed. Despite such measures, the proposal has been controversial: Opponents have cited potential impacts on wildlife as well as the difficulty of managing any oil spill that occurred in the region.Shell says that quick action by regulators will be needed if drilling is to proceed in 2012. The company is the biggest leaseholder in the region, and considers offshore Alaska a "world-class energy resource," according to Slaiby. Shell is also working in arctic waters in Norway, Greenland and Russia.Hmmmm....If you wanted to destroy America would you do anything different?Read the full story here.
