Israeli PM Netanyahu leading effort to thwart Hussein Obama's bid for U.N. chief.

Israeli PM Netanyahu leading effort to thwart Hussein Obama's bid for U.N. chief. (Watimes).

Mr. Netanyahu recently is said to have gotten wind of Obama’s plans which he calls the Obama Project.

Wasn’t eight years of having Obama in office enough?” Mr. Netanyahu is quoted in the Kuwaiti daily as telling associates. “Eight years during which he ignored Israel? And now he wants to be in a position that is liable to cause us hardships in the international arena.”

Obama is the worst president Israel has had to deal with and the worst president for the Middle East and its allies, the moderate Arab states,” the paper quotes a Netanyahu aide.

Another source close to the Prime Minister said “his presidency was characterized by [Washington’s] moving closer to the Muslim Brotherhood, toppling the regime of Hosni Mubarak, and attempts to ally itself with political Islam.”

Obama’s term is ending with him forging an alliance with Iran, coming to an agreement with it on its nuclear program which in the end will result in a similar scenario that took place with North Korea. Israel will not allow this to happen … It will take all of the necessary steps to prevent Iran from manufacturing a nuclear weapon either covertly or overtly.”

Obama 'Admin' to impose new gun control 'laws' next week.

Obama 'Admin' to impose new gun control 'laws' next week. (Wapo).

President Obama will meet with Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch on Monday to finalize a set of executive actions on guns that he will unveil next week, according to several individuals briefed on the matter.

White House officials declined to comment on Obama’s plans beyond releasing his weekly radio address on Friday, a day earlier than usual. But according to those familiar with the proposal, who asked for anonymity because it was not yet public, the president will expand new background-check requirements for buyers who purchase weapons from high-volume gun dealers.

The president will also use his executive authority in several other areas, these individuals said, but the overall package has not yet been finalized.

In the radio address, Obama said he was moving unilaterally because Congress had failed to address the growing problem of gun violence.

'A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed'   - 2nd Amendment

To regulate assault weapons, to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited, and for other purposes.” description of House Resolution 4269.

Via  Zero Hedge:

While Americans anxiously prepared for their Christmas festivities, anti gun proponents in Congress were hard at work drafting a new bill. If passed H.R. 4269 would literally redefine the Second Amendment as evidenced by the bill’s description, which in no uncertain terms clarifies its ultimate goal:

“To regulate assault weapons, to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited, and for other purposes.”
The bill directly targets every semi-automatic firearm in the United States including handguns, shotguns and rifles. It specifically mentions certain firearms and manufacturers, including the popular AR-15 and AK-47 rifles.
Because the law is Federal it would blanket the country with new restrictions, including making it illegal to own any magazine that exceeds a capacity of ten (10) rounds.
And here’s the kicker, even if your weapon has a legally-defined low capacity detachable magazine but is modified with any of the following accessories, it is considered an “assault rifle” and would be outright banned in the United StatesRead the full story here at infidel bloggers.

Record U.S. Gun Production as Obama ‘Demonized’ on Issue.

Record U.S. Gun Production as Obama ‘Demonized’ on Issue.(Bloomberg).
U.S. gun makers led by Sturm Ruger & Co. and Smith & Wesson Holding Corp. (SWHC) churned out a record number of firearms in 2012, government data show, continuing a trend of robust production during Democratic presidencies.
More than 8.57 million guns were produced in 2012, up 31 percent from 6.54 million in 2011, according to data released this week by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which has been tracking the statistics since 1986.

Almost as many guns -- 26.1 million -- were produced during Democrat Barack Obama’s first term as president as during the entire eight-year presidency of his Republican predecessor, George W. Bush, the ATF data show. Read the full story here.

US Senate Tells Obama 'No' to Implementing UN Arms Trade Treaty.

US Senate Tells Obama 'No' to Implementing UN Arms Trade Treaty.(GP).

One of the key pieces of international law that needs to be in place before the UN can take over the world is to control all weapons, including handguns, rifles, shotguns, semi-automatic and automatic weapons and ammunition. Over the past few years, the UN has been pushing one treaty that will help to accomplish that goal. It is the UN Arms Trade Treaty.

The UN Arms Trade Treaty is a treaty that would regulate the international sale and transfer of all conventional weapons throughout the world. Conventional weapons are sea and land mines, rockets, missiles, cluster munitions, non-nuclear bombs, shells, small arms and light weapons. By small arms, they mean handguns, rifles and shotguns of all kinds, regardless of their use or design.

Both Secretary of State John Kerry and President Barack Obama fully supported the Arms Trade Treaty and now are looking to the US Senate to ratify the treaty. At this time, it does not appear that there is enough support in the Senate to muster up 67 out of 100 votes that is required to ratify any international treaty.

As horrific and irresponsible the omnibus spending bill is, the Senate saw to place one provision in it that forbids any funding be used for the implementation of the UN Arms Trade Treaty without the Senate first ratifying the treaty.
Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS) stated that they purposely placed Section 7075 in the omnibus bill because President Obama and his administration can’t be trusted to try to bypass Senate ratification like he does with so many other pieces of legislation
He said that the Senate has repeatedly warned the president against any negotiations with the United Nations without first consulting with the Senate.

He further told the press after they passed the omnibus spending bill: "One might expect the President to pay little or no attention to Republican senators, but a significant number of Republican and Democrat - more than 50 - senators, on numerous occasions, by letter and by vote, have told the President not to negotiate an Arms Trade Treaty and not to expect the Senate to ratify,"

"The sad fact is, we have little faith that this administration will not try to implement an Arms Trade Treaty in the absence of ratification."

As often as Obama has violated the US Constitution by bypassing Congress by making, deleting and changes laws on his own without legal authority or approval, we have to wonder now what action Obama will try to take to bypass the required Senate ratification of the UN Arms Trade Treaty.

What illegal actions will Obama use next to force the implementation of the UN’s version of universal gun control?Read the full story here.

New Study Demolishes Almost Every Gun Control Myth.

New Study Demolishes Almost Every Gun Control Myth.(Mediate).
A study published in the latest issue of the academic journal Applied Economics Letterstook on many of the claims made regularly by advocates of stricter gun laws. The study determined that nearly every claim made in support of stronger restrictions on gun ownership is not supported by an exhaustive analysis of crime statistics.
The study, “An examination of the effects of concealed weapons laws and assault weapons bans on state-level murder rates,” conducted by Quinnipiac University economist Mark Gius, examined nearly 30 years of statistics and concluded that stricter gun laws do not result in a reduction in gun violence. In fact, Gius found the opposite – that a proliferation of concealed carry permits can actually reduce incidents of gun crime.

“Using data for the period 1980 to 2009 and controlling for state and year fixed effects, the results of the present study suggest that states with restrictions on the carrying of concealed weapons had higher gun-related murder rates than other states,” the study’s abstract reads. “It was also found that assault weapons bans did not significantly affect murder rates at the state level.”Read the full story Here.

Gun re-registration begins in D.C., may lead to arrest and confiscation.

Gun re-registration begins in D.C., may lead to arrest and confiscation.(WT)
For the first time in the United States, a citizen who has legally registered a gun will have to submit to a renewal process. The consequences of not knowing about this new law or missing the specific 60-day window are dire.
Starting on Jan. 2, every single D.C. resident who has registered a firearm since 1976 must go to police headquarters to pay a $48 fee and be photographed and fingerprinted.

The Metropolitan Police Department estimates there are at least 30,000 registered gun owners.

If the registrant does not go to the police station within three months after a set time frame, the registration is revoked. That citizen is then in possession of an unregistered firearm, which is a felony that carries a maximum penalty of a $1,000 fine and a year in jail.

The gun itself is put into a category of weapons that can never be registered, just as though it were a machine gun or a sawed-off shotgun.

The city has not made clear how it will enforce the law, but the police are in possession of all registrants’ home addresses so confiscation and arrests would be simple.

The police are notifying registrants by mail that they have to come to the station on the set schedule.
Also, the department took out a $550 advertisement in The Washington Times to run on Monday. The required public notice is not being printed in any other newspaper or media outlet.

The three-year expiration date is supposed to uncover if a gun owner does something that makes him suddenly a danger to society, such as committing a felony, becoming a drug addict or being involuntarily committed to a mental hospital.Read the full story here.

Armed protest Saterday by Gun enthusiasts at The Alamo ends quietly.

Armed protest Saterday by Gun enthusiasts at The Alamo ends quietly.(SA)
SAN ANTONIO — Gun enthusiasts gathered at the Alamo Saturday to rally for the right to openly carry firearms, without state and local restrictions that are now in place.
Demonstrators, many carrying rifles, shotguns or 19th-century pistols, cheered speakers who urged them to hold tight to their firearms, as their protected Constitutional right.

Featured speaker Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson, a candidate for lieutenant governor whose General Land Office oversees the Alamo, approved the use of the Alamo grounds for the event. Until 2011 the Alamo was overseen by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, which limited demonstrations at one of the state’s most recognized landmarks.

Police Chief William McManus said this week that police would oversee the protest, which he expected to be peaceful.Read the full story here.

Open mike reveals N.J. senators’ contempt for gun owners,Gun confiscation goal.

Open mike reveals N.J. senators’ contempt for gun owners,Gun confiscation goal.HT: Examiner.A microphone left on after the gavel fell at a New Jersey Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee hearing Thursday shows the “true view” of some of the senators toward gun owners, and provides proof that gun confiscation is a goal on which they agree, the Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs revealed in an email to members and supporters today. The group is the official NRA state association.

The discussion that was caught, apparently among several senators and staff, is outrageous, and reveals legislators’ true view of gun owners,” ANJRPC reports.
“The discussion appears to be among Senator Loretta Weinberg (D37), Senator Sandra Cunningham (D31), Senator Linda Greenstein (D14), and at least one member of Senate Democratic staff,” the gun group’s email explains.
Among the lines heard in the recording:
"We needed a bill that was going to confiscate, confiscate, confiscate.”
"They don’t care about the bad guys. All they want to do is have their little guns and do whatever they want with them.”
The May 9 discussion is also currently available at the committee’s website, but the gun group fears “It is possible that the official recording will be sanitized following release of this alert, and the official YouTube video could be deleted, so be sure to listen to it promptly.”
That the legislators have utter contempt for the Second Amendment and its proponents is obvious. Also clear is they have provided an irrefutable rebuttal to anti-gun activists who ridicule fears of a “slippery slope” by claiming no one wants to take guns away. Clearly, these politicians do.Read the full story here.

"I'm not a dictator" Biden Vows Obama Will Use Executive Orders To Further Gun Control After Senate Failure.

"I'm not a dictator" Biden Vows Obama Will Use Executive Orders To Further Gun Control After Senate Failure.WASHINGTON — Vice President Biden told White House allies in the gun control fight Thursday that President Obama will be announcing new executive actions on gun violence in the days after the Senate voted down a gun violence bill.

On a conference call with “stakeholders,” Biden told gun control advocates that the fight is not over and that eventual action on gun control will come.

Press were not invited to the conference call; a participant provided BuzzFeed with access.

“Look I know you’re going to say that I’m just being an optimist and I’m trying to put a good face on this. But you know I’ve been around here a long time and we’ve already done, because of you, some really good things,” Biden said. “Number one, the president is already lining up some additional executive actions he’s going to be taking later this week.”

After the Newtown shootings, Obama took a number of executive actions to expand research into gun violence and other areas favored by the gun control community. He took the actions without Congressional approval, leading to outrage by some conservatives.

Biden mentioned several areas where executive action has been taken, including helping schools that want them to hire more armed police offers and training teachers to identify and treat possible future school shooters.Hmmmm.....Obama Blames “Founding Fathers” For Making It Difficult For Him To “Bring Change”But..."I will keep plotting"Read the full story here.

Video - NRA president: "Obama attacking the NRA, he's attacking our members, he's attacking citizens and senators of the United States, threatening them and all the rest."

"I think that's really not a seemly way for the President of the United States to respond to a legislative defeat." So said NRA President David Keene Thursday morning on "Mornings on the Mall" on WMAL-FM in Washington DC. Keene was responding to President Obama accusing the gun lobby of "willfully lying" about the Toomey/Manchin/Schumer background check in a statement at the White House Wednesday. "(Obama complained) that we used the victims of these tragedies as props, and he did it while he was standing with all of these victims behind him, using them as props," Keene said. HT: Breitbart.

Obama On Gun Bill defeat: "All in all, this was a pretty shameful day for Washington," - Harry Reid: "Republican Party has become more out of step, more extreme." HT: Fox.
The Senate on Wednesday defeated a vital background check amendment seen as the linchpin to Democrats' gun control bill, dealing a major setback to President Obama -- who lashed out at opponents in unusually blunt terms during remarks from the Rose Garden.
"All in all, this was a pretty shameful day for Washington," Obama said, accusing the gun lobby of lying about the bill.

The vote was 54-46, with supporters falling six votes short of the required 60-vote threshold.

Obama vowed to press on, saying the vote was "just round one," while decrying those he claimed "caved" to political pressure."The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill," Obama said. He said the claims "upset" some gun owners who in turn "intimidated" senators.

"There were no coherent arguments as to why we couldn't do this. It came down to politics," he said. But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other Democrats hammered Republicans for not voting in support and vowed to press forward.

"I want everyone to understand this is just the beginning, not the end," said Reid. "Today, the brand of the Republican Party has become more out of step, more extreme. And that's saying something." Nearly Every Mass Shooting In The Last 20 Years Shares One Thing In Common.

Nearly Every Mass Shooting In The Last 20 Years Shares One Thing In Common.(AmmoLand).By Dan Roberts.Nearly every mass shooting incident in the last twenty years, and multiple other instances of suicide and isolated shootings all share one thing in common, and its not the weapons used.

The overwhelming evidence points to the signal largest common factor in all of these incidents is the fact that all of the perpetrators were either actively taking powerful psychotropic drugs or had been at some point in the immediate past before they committed their crimes.

Multiple credible scientific studies going back more then a decade, as well as internal documents from certain pharmaceutical companies that suppressed the information show that SSRI drugs ( Selective Serotonin Re-Uptake Inhibitors ) have well known, but unreported side effects, including but not limited to suicide and other violent behavior.
One need only Google relevant key words or phrases to see for themselves. www.ssristories.com is one popular site that has documented over 4500 “ Mainstream Media “ reported cases from around the World of aberrant or violent behavior by those taking these powerful drugs.

The following list of mass shooting perpetrators and the drugs they were taking or had been taking shortly before their horrific actions was compiled and published to Facebook by John Noveske, founder and owner of Noveske Rifleworks just days before he was mysteriously killed in a single car accident. Is there a link between Noveske’s death and his “outting” of information numerous disparate parties would prefer to suppress, for a variety of reasons ?

I leave that to the individual readers to decide. But there is most certainly a documented history of people who “knew to much” or were considered a “threat” dying under extraordinarily suspicious circumstances. Read the full story here,

'I'm Not A Dictator' Obama Claims That Government Tyranny is Impossible, Because “Government is Us”.

'I'm Not A Dictator' Obama Claims That Government Tyranny is Impossible, Because “Government is Us”.(Breitbart).By Ben Shapiro. In his big pitch in Colorado on Wednesday for further gun control, President Obama made an astonishing statement about gun rights advocates’ fears of governmental gun seizures. He said that such worries would just feed “into fears about government. You hear some of these folks: ‘I need a gun to protect myself from the government. We can’t do background checks because the government’s going to come take my guns away.’ The government’s us. These officials are elected by you … I am constrained as they are constrained by the system that our founders put in place.”

There are two odd angles to this statement. The first is Obama’s overarching theme: government violation of rights is impossible because “the government is us,” and we can’t violate our own rights.
Were this true, we could do away with the Constitution altogether. We would also never have to worry about democracies turning tyrannical, or electing tyrannical rulers. In this odd vision, Germany, Italy, and Spain remained liberal democracies throughout the twentieth century, World War II never happened, and Egypt, the Gaza Strip, and Turkey are all thriving centers of freedom.

The government is most assuredly not us – at least not all of us – which is why our system of government is designed to protect the rights of minorities while still allowing majorities to legislate without violating those rights. Obama’s defense to charges of incipient tyranny is that tyranny can never happen here. Which, of course, makes it more likely that tyranny will happen here.Hmmmm......Obama Blames “Founding Fathers” For Making It Difficult For Him To “Bring Change”But..."I will keep plotting" Read the full story here.

UN approval of arms trade treaty sets up Obama, Senate showdown.

UN approval of arms trade treaty sets up Obama, Senate showdown.(TheHill).The Obama administration defied a majority of the Senate on Tuesday by voting to approve a United Nations treaty on the trade of small arms and other conventional weapons.

The treaty, overwhelmingly approved by the U.N., requires countries to create internal mechanisms to ensure that their arms exports aren’t likely to be used to harm civilians or violate human rights laws.

President Obama is expected to sign the treaty within the next few months, but it faces a tough road to win the two-thirds majority support needed in the Senate for approval.

It is opposed by the National Rifle Association, which argues the accord violates the Second Amendment by regulating small arms, such as rifles and handguns, and calling for the creation of an “end-user registry.”

Fifty-three senators voiced their disapproval late last month by voting in favor of a nonbinding amendment to a Senate budget resolution to stop the U.S. from entering the treaty.

The NRA is pushing a separate resolution from Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) expressing the Senate’s opposition to the treaty. “The U.N. Arms Trade Treaty that passed in the General Assembly today would require the United States to implement gun-control legislation as required by the treaty, which could supersede the laws our elected officials have already put into place,” said Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), who sponsored the budget amendment.

It’s time the Obama administration recognizes it is already a non-starter, and Americans will not stand for internationalists limiting and infringing upon their Constitutional rights.”

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, a Republican, warned Obama not to sign it. “If you sign it, and if the U.S. Senate ratifies the treaty, Texas will lead the charge to have the treaty overturned in court as a violation of the U.S. Constitution,” Abbott wrote to the president.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said the administration was “pleased” with the passage, but wouldn’t comment on when Obama would sign it. The treaty stalled last summer after the Obama administration withheld its support ahead of the November elections. "YES WE CAN" - Senate votes 53-46 to stop US from joining UN Arms Trade Treaty.

"YES WE CAN" - Senate votes 53-46 to stop US from joining UN Arms Trade Treaty.(TheHill).HT: InfidelBloggers. In the last batch of amendment votes to the budget, the Senate voted on several foreign policy proposals.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) introduced an amendment that would prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty in order to uphold the Second Amendment. His amendment passed on a 53-46 vote.

Republicans have been critical of President Obama’s decision to consider the treaty, although Obama has said he would not vote for anything that would violate the Second Amendment.

The U.N. Arms Trade Treaty would regulate international arms sales. Negotiations end on March 28.

We’re negotiating a treaty that cedes our authority to have trade agreements with our allies in terms of trading arms,” Inhofe said. “This is probably the last time this year that you’ll be able to vote for your Second Amendment rights.”

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) offered an alternative amendment that clarified that under current U.S. law, treaties don’t trump the Constitution and that the United States should not agree to any arms treaty that violates the Second Amendment rights. His amendment passed by voice vote.

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) said he thought it was irresponsible to be considering major foreign policy decisions at 3 a.m. on Saturday morning.Hmmmm......Obama Blames “Founding Fathers” For Making It Difficult For Him To “Bring Change”But..."I will keep plotting" Read the full story here.

The Arms Trade Treaty and the Second Amendment: Answering the American Bar Association.

The Arms Trade Treaty and the Second Amendment: Answering the American Bar Association.HT: Heritage.By Ted R. Bromund, Ph.D.

On February 26, the American Bar Association’s Center for Human Rights issued a white paper on the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), which concludes that “the proposed ATT is consistent with the Second Amendment.”
This conclusion neglects important facts about the treaty and the processes surrounding it, which we will explore in this four-part blog series.
The white paper asserts that the Second Amendment does not apply to most weapons within the scope of the ATT (which covers, among other things, combat aircraft), and that the Second Amendment is “generally inapplicable to arms exports.” These contentions are sound, but the more important issue is how the ATT might affect the importation of firearms under the Second Amendment.
The white paper argues that “import restrictions are constitutionally valid,” and we agree: The federal government does have the power to control the entry of goods into the United States. But the draft ATT, in Article 7(2), requires nations signed on to the treaty to “adopt appropriate measures to prevent the diversion of imported conventional arms under the scope of this Treaty to the illicit market or for unauthorized end use.” The Treaty therefore goes beyond import restrictions by requiring signatories to prevent the domestic diversion of imports.
By ignoring this, the white paper also ignores a broad point about the U.S. Unlike most nations, the U.S. has both the Second Amendment and a federal system. The latter fact means that, in some policy areas, it is difficult to draft multilateral treaties that the U.S. can accept, because most nations do not have a federal system.
For example, the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child covers matters that in the U.S. are the responsibility of the states, localities, and families—not the national government, which is one reason no administration has transmitted it to the Senate.
The same is true for the ATT. The draft ATT is built on the assumption that all nations have the same structure, and can therefore implement the treaty in the same way. But in the U.S., the federal government shares responsibility for regulating firearms with the states, in both cases as controlled by the Second Amendment. Thus, the states are partly responsible for preventing firearms from reaching “the illicit market” or “unauthorized end use.”
Further, unlike other countries, our Constitution limits the authority of the federal government to insist that state officials act as its agent for purposes of carrying out federal policy. Thus, the ATT is about more than the control of imports. Worse, it is based on an assumption about the role and powers of national governments that is not true of the federal and Constitutionally limited U.S. system.Read the full story here.
