U.S. gun makers led by Sturm Ruger & Co. and Smith & Wesson Holding Corp. (SWHC) churned out a record number of firearms in 2012, government data show, continuing a trend of robust production during Democratic presidencies.

More than 8.57 million guns were produced in 2012, up 31 percent from 6.54 million in 2011, according to data released this week by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which has been tracking the statistics since 1986.

Almost as many guns -- 26.1 million -- were produced during Democrat Barack Obama’s first term as president as during the entire eight-year presidency of his Republican predecessor, George W. Bush, the ATF data show. Read the full story here.

One of the key pieces of international law that needs to be in place before the UN can take over the world is to control all weapons, including handguns, rifles, shotguns, semi-automatic and automatic weapons and ammunition. Over the past few years, the UN has been pushing one treaty that will help to accomplish that goal. It is the UN Arms Trade Treaty.

The UN Arms Trade Treaty is a treaty that would regulate the international sale and transfer of all conventional weapons throughout the world. Conventional weapons are sea and land mines, rockets, missiles, cluster munitions, non-nuclear bombs, shells, small arms and light weapons. By small arms, they mean handguns, rifles and shotguns of all kinds, regardless of their use or design.

Both Secretary of State John Kerry and President Barack Obama fully supported the Arms Trade Treaty and now are looking to the US Senate to ratify the treaty. At this time, it does not appear that there is enough support in the Senate to muster up 67 out of 100 votes that is required to ratify any international treaty.

As horrific and irresponsible the omnibus spending bill is, the Senate saw to place one provision in it that forbids any funding be used for the implementation of the UN Arms Trade Treaty without the Senate first ratifying the treaty.

Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS) stated that they purposely placed Section 7075 in the omnibus bill because President Obama and his administration can’t be trusted to try to bypass Senate ratification like he does with so many other pieces of legislation. 

He said that the Senate has repeatedly warned the president against any negotiations with the United Nations without first consulting with the Senate.

He further told the press after they passed the omnibus spending bill: "One might expect the President to pay little or no attention to Republican senators, but a significant number of Republican and Democrat - more than 50 - senators, on numerous occasions, by letter and by vote, have told the President not to negotiate an Arms Trade Treaty and not to expect the Senate to ratify,"

"The sad fact is, we have little faith that this administration will not try to implement an Arms Trade Treaty in the absence of ratification."

As often as Obama has violated the US Constitution by bypassing Congress by making, deleting and changes laws on his own without legal authority or approval, we have to wonder now what action Obama will try to take to bypass the required Senate ratification of the UN Arms Trade Treaty.

A study published in the latest issue of the academic journal Applied Economics Letterstook on many of the claims made regularly by advocates of stricter gun laws. The study determined that nearly every claim made in support of stronger restrictions on gun ownership is not supported by an exhaustive analysis of crime statistics.

The study, “An examination of the effects of concealed weapons laws and assault weapons bans on state-level murder rates,” conducted by Quinnipiac University economist Mark Gius, examined nearly 30 years of statistics and concluded that stricter gun laws do not result in a reduction in gun violence. In fact, Gius found the opposite – that a proliferation of concealed carry permits can actually reduce incidents of gun crime.

“Using data for the period 1980 to 2009 and controlling for state and year fixed effects, the results of the present study suggest that states with restrictions on the carrying of concealed weapons had higher gun-related murder rates than other states,” the study’s abstract reads. “It was also found that assault weapons bans did not significantly affect murder rates at the state level.”Read the full story Here.

SAN ANTONIO — Gun enthusiasts gathered at the Alamo Saturday to rally for the right to openly carry firearms, without state and local restrictions that are now in place.

Demonstrators, many carrying rifles, shotguns or 19th-century pistols, cheered speakers who urged them to hold tight to their firearms, as their protected Constitutional right.

Featured speaker Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson, a candidate for lieutenant governor whose General Land Office oversees the Alamo, approved the use of the Alamo grounds for the event. Until 2011 the Alamo was overseen by the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, which limited demonstrations at one of the state’s most recognized landmarks.

Police Chief William McManus said this week that police would oversee the protest, which he expected to be peaceful.Read the full story here.

As President Obama authorized the U.S. to sign onto a United Nations arms treaty that does not recognize an individual’s right to keep and bear arms, it was revealed the U.S. Senate also does not view the Second Amendment as law of the land.

The U.S. Senate website has the Constitution and Bill of Right written out with a column for “original text” and also “explanation.” Under the second column, the Second Amendment is described as such: “Whether this provision protects the individual’s right to own firearms or whether it deals only with the collective right of the people to arm and maintain a militia has long been debated.”

That is no longer accurate. In 2008, the Supreme Court decision in the District of Columbia v Heller clarified that, “The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home.”

The website says the text was prepared by the Office of the Secretary of the Senate with the assistance of Johnny H. Killian of the Library of Congress. Senate Secretary Nancy Erickson did not respond to a request for comment.

Texas Republican Sen. John Cornyn, who is on the Judiciary Committee, wants to see the website corrected.  “Like Friday nights in Texas in fall, the Second Amendment is both sacred and not up for debate and the Senate’s website ought to reflect that,” his spokesman Drew Brandewie told me.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s spokesman Don Stewart affirmed that the Kentucky Republican “believes strongly that the Second Amendment right to bear arms is an individual right and the Supreme Court has said the same.”

While outliers in the anti-gun movement may still be stewing over the ruling, the high court wrote extensively about how the Founding Fathers’ intent was to affirm two separate but related individual rights in the clauses —divided by the comma — when they wrote: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Justice Antonin Scalia wrote that the context in which that amendment was written was that, “History showed that the way tyrants had eliminated a militia consisting of all the able bodied men was not by banning the militia but simply by  taking away the people’s arms.”

The decision also explained that, “The threat that the new Federal Government would destroy the citizens’ militia by taking away their arms was the reason  that right — unlike some other English rights — was codi­fied in a written Constitution.”Read

Secretary of State John Kerry on Wednesday signed a controversial U.N. treaty on arms regulation, riling U.S. lawmakers who vow the Senate will not ratify the agreement.

In advance of the signing, a State Department official said the treaty would "reduce the risk that international transfers of conventional arms will be used to carry out the world's worst crimes," while protecting gun rights.

"The treaty builds on decades of cooperative efforts to stem the international, illegal, and illicit trade in conventional weapons that benefits terrorists and rogue agents," the official said.

U.S. lawmakers, though, have long claimed the treaty could lead to new gun control measures. They note the U.S. Senate has final say on whether to approve the agreement.

Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., in a letter to President Obama, urged his administration not to take any action to implement the treaty without the consent of the Senate.

He claimed the treaty raises "fundamental issues" concerning "individual rights protected by the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution."

Sen. Jim Inhofe, R-Okla., one of the most vocal opponents of the treaty, also sent a letter to Kerry declaring the treaty "dead in the water," since a majority of senators has gone on record against the agreement.

"The administration is wasting precious time trying to sign away our laws to the global community and unelected U.N. bureaucrats," he wrote.

Kerry, who is in New York attending the U.N. General Assembly session, announced earlier this year that the administration planned to sign the treaty.

The treaty would require countries that ratify it to establish national regulations to control the transfer of conventional arms and components and to regulate arms brokers, but it will not explicitly control the domestic use of weapons in any country.

Still, gun-rights supporters on Capitol Hill warn the treaty could be used as the basis for additional gun regulations inside the U.S. and have threatened not to ratify.

Over the summer, 130 members of Congress signed a letter to President Obama and Kerry urging them to reject the measure for this and other reasons.

The chance of adoption by the U.S. is slim. A two-thirds majority would be needed in the Senate to ratify.

It prohibits states that ratify it from transferring conventional weapons if they violate arms embargoes or if they promote acts of genocide, crimes against humanity or war crimes. *

The treaty also prohibits the export of conventional arms if they could be used in attacks on civilians or civilian buildings such as schools and hospitals.

In addition, the treaty requires countries to take measures to prevent the diversion of conventional weapons to the illicit market. The Senate on Wednesday defeated a vital background check amendment seen as the linchpin to Democrats' gun control bill, dealing a major setback to President Obama -- who lashed out at opponents in unusually blunt terms during remarks from the Rose Garden.

"All in all, this was a pretty shameful day for Washington," Obama said, accusing the gun lobby of lying about the bill.

The vote was 54-46, with supporters falling six votes short of the required 60-vote threshold.

Obama vowed to press on, saying the vote was "just round one," while decrying those he claimed "caved" to political pressure."The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill," Obama said. He said the claims "upset" some gun owners who in turn "intimidated" senators.

"There were no coherent arguments as to why we couldn't do this. It came down to politics," he said. But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and other Democrats hammered Republicans for not voting in support and vowed to press forward.

"I want everyone to understand this is just the beginning, not the end," said Reid. "Today, the brand of the Republican Party has become more out of step, more extreme. And that's saying something." The treaty, overwhelmingly approved by the U.N., requires countries to create internal mechanisms to ensure that their arms exports aren’t likely to be used to harm civilians or violate human rights laws.

President Obama is expected to sign the treaty within the next few months, but it faces a tough road to win the two-thirds majority support needed in the Senate for approval.

It is opposed by the National Rifle Association, which argues the accord violates the Second Amendment by regulating small arms, such as rifles and handguns, and calling for the creation of an “end-user registry.”

Fifty-three senators voiced their disapproval late last month by voting in favor of a nonbinding amendment to a Senate budget resolution to stop the U.S. from entering the treaty.

The NRA is pushing a separate resolution from Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kan.) expressing the Senate’s opposition to the treaty. “The U.N. Arms Trade Treaty that passed in the General Assembly today would require the United States to implement gun-control legislation as required by the treaty, which could supersede the laws our elected officials have already put into place,” said Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), who sponsored the budget amendment.

“It’s time the Obama administration recognizes it is already a non-starter, and Americans will not stand for internationalists limiting and infringing upon their Constitutional rights.”

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, a Republican, warned Obama not to sign it. “If you sign it, and if the U.S. Senate ratifies the treaty, Texas will lead the charge to have the treaty overturned in court as a violation of the U.S. Constitution,” Abbott wrote to the president.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said the administration was “pleased” with the passage, but wouldn’t comment on when Obama would sign it. The treaty stalled last summer after the Obama administration withheld its support ahead of the November elections. Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) introduced an amendment that would prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty in order to uphold the Second Amendment. His amendment passed on a 53-46 vote.

Republicans have been critical of President Obama’s decision to consider the treaty, although Obama has said he would not vote for anything that would violate the Second Amendment.

The U.N. Arms Trade Treaty would regulate international arms sales. Negotiations end on March 28.

“We’re negotiating a treaty that cedes our authority to have trade agreements with our allies in terms of trading arms,” Inhofe said. “This is probably the last time this year that you’ll be able to vote for your Second Amendment rights.”

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) offered an alternative amendment that clarified that under current U.S. law, treaties don’t trump the Constitution and that the United States should not agree to any arms treaty that violates the Second Amendment rights. His amendment passed by voice vote.

Kerry voices conditional US support for UN arms trade treaty.(HD).U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry voiced support on March 15 for an international treaty to regulate the $70 billion global arms trade, but restated Washington's "red line," affirming that it would not accept limits on U.S. domestic gun ownership.
The U.N. General Assembly voted in December to hold a final round of negotiations from March 18 to 28 on what could become the first international treaty to regulate international weapons transfers after a drafting conference in July 2012 collapsed because the United States and others wanted more time. Arms control campaigners say one person every minute dies worldwide as a result of armed violence and that a convention is needed to prevent the unregulated and illicit flow of weapons into conflict zones fueling wars and atrocities. "The United States is steadfast in its commitment to achieve a strong and effective Arms Trade Treaty that helps address the adverse effects of the international arms trade on global peace and stability," Kerry said in a statement.
"An effective treaty that recognizes that each nation must tailor and enforce its own national export and import control mechanisms can generate the participation of a broad majority of states, help stem the illicit flow of conventional arms across international borders and have important humanitarian benefits."

But he repeated that the United States - the world's No. 1 arms manufacturer - would not accept any treaty that imposed new limits on U.S. citizens' right to bear arms, a sensitive political issue in the United States.

"We will not support any treaty that would be inconsistent with U.S. law and the rights of American citizens under our Constitution, including the Second Amendment," he said.

"International conventional arms trade is, and will continue to be, a legitimate commercial activity," he said, adding that countries should work to prevent arms from reaching those who commit "the world's worst crimes, including those involving terrorism and serious human rights violations."

The point of the treaty is to set standards for all cross-border transfers of any type of conventional weapon - light and heavy. It would also set binding requirements for nations to review all cross-border arms contracts to ensure the munitions are not used in human rights abuses, do not violate embargoes and are not illegally diverted.

Daryl Kimball, head of the Arms Control Association, said Kerry's remarks were a "long overdue positive statement that makes it clear the administration is dedicated to pursuing a robust treaty."

He added that it was positive Kerry did not raise the issue of ammunition, something the United States had previously demanded be excluded from the treaty. Supporters of a tough treaty in Europe and elsewhere insist on including it.
 Last month, U.S. National Security Council deputy spokeswoman Caitlin Hayden said Washington would continue to oppose the inclusion of ammunition in the draft treaty. "Ammunition is a fundamentally different commodity than conventional arms," Hayden said. "It is fungible, consumable, reloadable, and cannot be marked in any practical way that would permit it to be tracked or traced." “Myth” #4: “Under the ATT, arm [sic] exports will only be limited where there are human-rights or genocide concerns.” Thus, the ATT will not “harm the U.S.’s relationships with Taiwan and Israel by eliminating foreign aid.”

Fact: This is not a question of “eliminating” aid to Taiwan and Israel. But anyone who follows the news will be aware that Israel is regularly (if spuriously) accused of human rights violations. Under the ATT, these accusations could easily be cited as an excuse for restricting U.S. arms sales to Israel. As for Taiwan, interested readers can refer to the Issue Brief I wrote with my colleague Dean Cheng. The State Department itself has acknowledged that these concerns are legitimate, and again, Congress is right to be concerned about this.
The Dear Colleagues letter concludes with the argument that “[i]f this treaty is ratified, the only groups who will not receive U.S. arms are human-rights abusers and perpetrators of genocide.” The U.S. does not need to ratify the ATT to achieve this aim, and the ATT does not simply ban all defense exports to human rights abusers. More broadly, this claim ignores the fact that the U.S. sometimes has to support poor governments against even worse ones.
For example, the U.S. backed South Korea against North Korea in 1950, even though South Korea was not, at that time, a democracy. An absolute ban on the U.S. supply of arms to all but the pure would prevent the U.S. from making the most elementary and necessary choices and put us in the position of taking, in practice, the side of the most evil and aggressive regimes and terrorist movements in the world. If the ATT did what the letter claims, that would be yet another reason for Congress to be concerned about it.

Bet you didn't know what's hidden in The Gun Control Act of 1968.
The Treasury Secretary is vested with the right to ban importation of any firearm he finds "does not have a sporting purpose."
While this authority is "currently" delegated to the BATFE, it doesn't have to remain delegated. In fact, there is nothing legislative about that delegation to the best of my knowledge, which means it can be revoked by pure fiat.
Jack Lew, the person most-likely to be nominated to replace Geithner, is Obama's current Chief of Staff. As such it must be presumed that he will do whatever Obama wants, within the limit of his statutory authority.

And that authority includes the ability to ban the import of any gun.

The Gun Control Act of 1968 should be repealed. But so long as it stands, no person who comes from inside the Obama administration can be considered for confirmation to the Treasury Secretary's post, and any such person must be made subject to strict scrutiny on their 2nd Amendment views.Read the full story here.

So the real question is whether or not you contacted your Senators yet today? Because all that this does is give us an actual target to go after when emailing our Senators in the upcoming legislative session. If you’ve a new Senator coming in, email their office right now.
There has been a lot of nonsense going around lately, and a lot of people I know are accepting some kind of new anti-gun legislation as fait accompli. It’s not time to quit, it’s time to saddle up.
Sen. Feinstein’s proposed legislation includes the following provisions:

• Strengthens the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and various state bans by
• Moving from a 2-characteristic test to a 1-characteristic test
• Eliminating the easy-to-remove bayonet mounts and flash suppressors from the characteristics test
• Banning firearms with “thumbhole stocks” and “bullet buttons” to address attempts to “work around” prior bans
• Bans large-capacity ammunition feeding devices capable of accepting more than 10 rounds.
• Requires that grandfathered weapons be registered under the National Firearms Act

It’s the last bit that indicates this is Sen. Feinstein’s home run swing: grandfathering existing weapons under the NFA? Good luck getting that. It would be basically logistically impossible to make that happen and the level of non-compliance both intentional and accidental would be staggering. Assuming for the moment that’s just a bargaining chip that they threw in there to later get tossed; let’s now take a look at what the bill would actually ban.
For those that don’t remember the original AWB, it banned guns based on a certain number of “military characteristics”, where a gun had to have two or more. The new ban would change that to one or more, and the military characteristics list would look like this:

Folding/telescoping stock
pistol grip
Pistols
Magazine that attaches outside the pistol grip
Threaded barrel to attach barrel extender, flash suppressor, handgrip, or suppressor
Barrel shroud that can be used as a hand-hold
Unloaded weight of 50 oz (1.4 kg) or more

I should note that the lines about pistols and semi-auto shotguns are my conjecture, based on the assumption that the new bill would include all the provisions of the 1994 ban. With the change to one military feature, think about how many guns you have sitting around that would be banned, or for that matter how many accessories. Every USPSA Open gun automatically becomes an assault weapon, because they all have threaded barrels for compensators. A Mossberg 935 Turkey gun becomes an assault weapon because it has a pistol grip.
Make no mistake, this bill is bad. I also don’t think this bill will pass, and I’d like to thank Senator Feinstein’s staff for giving us an actual concrete target. Urge your Senators to oppose any proposed assault weapons ban. Be polite, be courteous and be professional, but email them now.

Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein said Sunday that she will introduce a new ban on assault weapons when the new Congress convenes next year, and she expects President Barack Obama to support it.

Appearing on Meet The Press in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting that killed 26 on Friday, Feinstein, who sponsored the first federal ban on assault weapons which expired in 2004, said she is ready to push to reinstate it.

"It's being done with care, it will be ready on the first day, I'll be announcing House authors, and we'll be prepared to go — and I hope the nation will be prepared to help," she said.

Asked whether Obama will speak out in favor of it, Feinstein said, "I believe he will."

Obama supported reinstating the ban in his 2008 campaign, but invested little political capital in it. White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Friday that the ban "remain[s] a commitment of his," but administration officials have been mum on the type of "meaningful action" Obama will propose in response to the mass shooting.Hmmmm.....Will we hear Pres Obama announce the proposed ban today?

Vibes.It has long been known that there are more veterans who end up committing suicide than there are who actually die on the battlefield. This fact has been so unsettling for many people in the mainstream because it exposes the true nature of what war is all about. When the people on the front lines are so depressed about what they have seen and what they have been forced to do, it opens up a whole list of questions that people in the US have been running from for over a decade.

As of last month, 270 active-duty service members killed themselves this year alone, and half were from the Army. Instead of targeting the underlying psychological issues and traumatic memories that are pushing veterans towards suicide, the establishment has been putting forward false solutions that just cover up the symptoms, instead of addressing the causal factors behind the depression.

As suicides continue to rise in 2012, the Defense Department officials are developing a suicide prevention campaign, part of which will encourage soldiers to give up their weapons. Under current legislation when troops are identified as high risk, commanders have the authority to confiscate their service weapons, but they can not ask them to hand over their personal firearms.

These new policies that have been suggested by congress and the pentagon are hoping to change that, giving commanders and law enforcement the ability to confiscate their personal arms. This is by far the most offensive and alarming attempt by the US government to lower veteran suicides, but it is not the first time that they have put forward a solution to this problem which misses the point entirely. Earlier this year the US Army awarded a scientist at the Indiana University School of Medicine $3 million to develop a nasal spray that eclipses suicidal thoughts.Read the full story here.

Cyber bill has Democratic gun control amendment, limits the purchase of high capacity gun magazines for some consumers.(TheHill).Democratic senators have offered an amendment to the cybersecurity bill that would limit the purchase of high capacity gun magazines for some consumers. Shortly after the Cybersecurity Act gained Senate approval to proceed to filing proposed amendments and a vote next week, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), a sponsor of the gun control amendment, came to the floor to defend the idea of implementing some “reasonable” gun control measures.The amendment was sponsored by Democratic Sens. Frank Lautenberg (N.J.), Barbara Boxer (Calif.), Jack Reed (R.I.), Bob Menendez (N.J.), Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.), Schumer and Dianne Feinstein (Calif.).

S.A. 2575 would make it illegal to transfer or possess large capacity feeding devices such as gun magazines, belts, feed stripes and drums of more than 10 rounds of ammunition with the exception of .22 caliber rim fire ammunition. 

The amendment is identical to a separate bill sponsored by Lautenberg. Feinstein was the sponsor of the assault weapons ban, which expired in 2004. The proposed amendment would only affect sales and transfers after the law took effect. Schumer defended the Brady law and assault weapons ban on the floor Thursday evening, perhaps in preparation for the coming fight with Republicans and gun rights activists. Schumer suggested that both the left and right find common ground. “Maybe we could come together on guns if each side gave some,” Schumer said. He suggested that Democrats make it clear that their goal is not to repeal the Second Amendment. “The basic complaint is that the Chuck Schumers of the world want to take away your guns,” Schumer said of the argument made by gun lobbies. “I think it would be smart for those of us who want rational gun control to make it know that that’s not true at all.” Schumer also pointed out that it would be reasonable for the right to recognize that background checks on those buying guns is necessary — as called for in the Brady law. He also said average Americans don’t need an assault weapon to go hunting or protect themselves. “We can debate where to draw the line of reasonableness, but we might be able to come to an agreement in the middle,” Schumer said. “Maybe, maybe, maybe we can pass some laws that might, might, might stop some of the unnecessary casualties … maybe there’s a way we can some together and try to break through the log jam and make sure the country is a better place.” Next week the Senate is expected to debate and vote on proposed amendments to the cybersecurity bill.Read the full story here.

Final UN Arms Trade Treaty Disarms America With Clinton’s Signature.(AP).By Susanne Posel.The UN International Arms Trade Treaty Conference (ATT) is wrapping up in New York, and their final draft is completed.

In 2009, Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State, proudly announced that the Obama administration was in full support of the ATT. It was the intention of the US government to assist the UN in implementing and establishing “common international standards for the import, export, and transfer of conventional arms to help prevent the acquisition of arms by terrorists, criminals, and those who violate human rights or are subject to UN arms embargoes.”

Clinton stated that, "the United States is prepared to work hard for a strong international standard” concerning global gun control. “The United States is committed to actively pursuing a strong and robust treaty that contains the highest possible, legally binding standards for the international transfer of conventional weapons.”

In 2010, the US began talks with the UN regarding the initial drafting of the ATT.

With perfect globalist rhetoric, the UN claims that it is “not pursuing a global treaty to ban gun ownership by civilians.” But rather a “tightening controls over the international import, export and transfers of conventional arms, because without such controls it is easier for weapons to be diverted from the legal trade into the illegal market, and into the hands of terrorists, drug traffickers and criminal cartels.”

However, with the confirmation of the Fast and Furious scandal, it became clear that new new gun regulations were coming to America.

Trent Franks, Arizona House Representative commented to a House Judiciary committee in 2011 that:

If the American people learn that the motivations for all of this was to make a case to deprive them of their Second Amendment rights or to make a case to further the (Justice) department’s ability to further regulate gun rights within the United States, that would make them very angry. Clearly, an attempt to use Fast and Furious as a way to bolster the request for that long-gun regulation would have been foolhardy.The Obama administration supports international regulation of all “advanced conventional weapons, including tanks, armored combat vehicles, artillery systems, military aircraft, military helicopters, naval vessels, missiles, missile launchers, small arms and light weapons, and combat support equipment. It should also include parts, components, and/or technology to manufacture, modify, or repair the covered items” as stated in the ATT.

When talks concerning the global gun grab began in 2010, the US claimed to

want a treaty that will prevent, or at least significantly impede, illicit trade in conventional weapons by reinforcing national commitments and supplementing those obligations, thereby elevating the degree to which the worldwide trade in conventional arms is conducted in a lawful, transparent, and accountable manner.

Indeed it was through seemingly lawful procurement that the Department of Justice (DoJ), as stated in a demand letter, required border-state gun stores to report multiple gun purchases by an individual in a 7-day period could be used to confuse the actual issue. US Attorney Dennis Burke wanted to connect the guns shipped to Mexican drug cartels to Fast and Furious, and ultimately introduce the “enforcing gun sale laws at (gun stores) and gun shows.”

Terry Gowdy, House Representative, said:

The federal government certainly aided and abetted gun trafficking, which then may very well have been the proximate cause of a border agent [Brian Terry’s] death.

Fast forward to the Batman shooting where James Holmes entered a crowded theater in complete SWAT gear (which consisted of a tactical armored vest, throat protector, groin protector, a gas mask and a ballistic helmet) and threw two gas canisters into the crowd while opening fire with an assault rifle, shotgun and a .40 caliber Glock pistol. The result: 12 people dead and 59 injured.

Immediately, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg decried to the public:

I mean, there’s so many murders with guns every day. It’s just gotta stop. . . No matter where you stand on the Second Amendment, no matter where you stand on guns, we have a right to hear from both of them, concretely, not just in generalities, specifically, what are they going to do about guns?

The Batman shooting prompted a nationwide dialogue about gun control, while the UN was putting the finishing touches on an international treaty that would eradicate the 2nd Amendment and disarm Americans, all in one fell swoop.

The cover story is that guns in the hands of violent criminals are dangerous. And potential criminals lurk around every corner. The claims that legal procurement of firearms is not part of the discussion are distracting from the truth of the matter.

The ATT clearly states that the UN, after Congressional ratification, will force the US government to:

• Enact internationally agreed licensing requirements for Americans.
• Confiscate and destroy unauthorized firearms of Americans while allowing the US government to keep theirs.
• Ban trade, sale and private ownership of semi-automatic guns.
• Create and mandate an international registry to organize an encompassing gun confiscation in America.

The Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties (VCLT), which was ratified by the US Senate in 1969 may be the loophole to allow Obama and Clinton to destroy the 2nd Amendment and enact international mandates on gun control in America after the treaty is signed by a member of the Obama administration (i.e. Clinton herself). That signature alone will implement the ATT within the domestic US regardless of a formal rejection by the current Senate.The VCLT views international treaties above the laws of sovereign nations wherein disputes are directed to an international tribunal as defined by the Charter of the United Nations. Essentially, the UN will have the legal backing to force any nation that has signed a treaty to do their bidding; or face international mandates as recognized by the international community and not the individual laws or constitutions of independent countries.

In the final draft of the ATT, the establishment of a UN sanctioned “national control system” will regulate:

• Import and export of guns.
• Sale of small and light arms as based on relevance defined by the UN.
• Transfers of arms based on international agreements and obligations under the guise of protecting human rights, war crimes and breaches of the Geneva Convention of 1949, Article 3.
• Governmental permission prior to exportation of arms.
• Governmental record keeping of all arms transferred, imported, exported, and sold which is turned over to the Implementation Support Unit (ISU) annually.

The ISU will be an internationally appointed supervision department that controls all records concerning arms trade who also can force governments to implement international amendments and mandates as is or could be decided at a UN General Assembly meeting regarding the ATT.

A national enforcement department would be installed to prevent diversion from the ATT. However, this department would also readily assist individual implementation of the ATT should a country have trouble allocating their existing laws or regulations to the ATT.

The UN, under the ATT demands that all nations

offer or receive assistance, inter alia, through the United Nations international, regional, subregional or national organizations, non-governmental organizations or on a bi-lateral basis. Such assistance may include technical, financial, material and other forms of assistance as needed, upon request.

To join the ATT, world leaders need only accept or sign the treaty. Once signed or accepted, the ATT must be implemented within 30 days to ensure “transfer competence” with regard to changes in governmental structure that may occur due to the ATT. After the 30 day allotment, the UN expects the ATT to be in full control of all matters regarding arms control.

Nations, under the ATT, may take each other to a UN tribunal court to facilitate legal matters of dispute. That tribunal will interpret the ATT and negotiate between the parties.

In the end, the UN will govern the right of arms control, legal matters concerning arms control and the methods and means by which arms are allocated to individual nations.

Within the ATT, there is not one mention of the 2nd Amendment rights of Americans or even how the ATT may affect those rights. In fact, the provisions of the ATT are in contrary to existing laws and, if signed, would simply supersede laws in existence to conform to the international mandates proposed in the ATT. The ultimate goal of disarming Americans in clearly noted in its silence and ambiguous tone toward the sovereignty of nations that allow by Constitutional right that their citizens bear protective arms.

US Border Agent Brian Terry was shooting beanbags at cartel members before they shot him dead with assault rifles. (Truth about Guns).

For the first time the Obama Administration today admitted that Brian Terry and fellow border agents were firing beanbags and not bullets during their shootout with armed cartel members... FOX News reported, via Free Republic:

For the first time, federal officials revealed Monday that murdered Border Patrol agent Brian Terry and an elite squad of federal agents first fired bean bags — not bullets — at a heavily armed drug cartel crew in the mountains south of Tucson in December 2011.

The announcement came as the Department of Justice unsealed an indictment charging five individuals allegedly involved in Terry’s death. A sixth suspect has also been charged in a related incident.

The U.S. is also offering a reward of up to $1 million for information leading to the arrest of four outstanding suspects believed to hiding out in Mexico. The names of the four suspects were revealed, and their pictures released, to the public. Police in the US and in Mexico are cooperating and under intense pressure to find them.

[Commenter] Roark added: "Disarmed by the very bureaucrats that armed their killers."

This is the biggest political scandal in the last century. And vintage media, for the most part, refuses to report on it.

The mass murders facilitated by Eric Holder -- and the subsequent cover-up by the Obama administration and Holder -- make Watergate look like a parking violation.
