Canada - Muslims were murdered in hate crimes, Liberals propose task force against Islamophobia

Liberals: Muslims were murdered in hate crimes, propose task force against Islamophobia. HT : CIJNews.

WHEREAS the Rt. Hon. Justin Trudeau has repeatedly declared he is ‘deeply disturbed’ by the increasing Islamophobia in Canada, and joining governments from around the world in condemning such heinous acts towards Muslim communities;

BE IT RESOLVED that the Liberal Party of Canada strike a Task Force for the Elimination of All Forms of Islamophobia;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the recommendations of the Task Force be forwarded to the Rt. Hon. Prime Minister, Cabinet and all MPs to be used as the Government of Canada’s strategic vision to eliminate all forms of discrimination and hatred.”

Ontario Liberals did not provided any details about their claim that at least two Canadian Muslims were murdered in Canada in 2015 because of Islamophobia.
According to Statistics Canada, Canadian Jews who comprise 1% of the population were the most targeted minority group in Canada, 8 times more likely to be the victims of a hate crime than Canadian Muslims. In 2013, Canadian Muslims were victims of 6.2 hate crime incidents per 100,000 people but Canadian Jews were the victims of 54.9 incidents per 100,000 people.
According to B’nai Brith Canada, a Jewish human rights group which tracks anti-Semitic incidents in the country, 2014 was the worst year for hate crimes since 1982, the year they began recording the data, with 1627 incidents (or a 28% increase over the numbers from 2013). “This means that the Jewish community is not only disproportionately targeted, but also that anti-Semitism is a growing problem in Canada.

On March 18, 2016, Toronto Police issued its 2015 Annual Hate/Bias Crime Statistical Report which again listed the Jewish community as the most targeted group for hate crimes, followed by the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) community.

The Jewish community was the most victimized group for mischief to property occurrences, while the LGBTQ community was the most victimized group for assault occurrences” the report said. Read the full story here.

Trudeau' 'budget' slips in proposal to seize your bank account if bank fails.

Trudeau' 'budget' slips in proposal to seize your bank account if bank fails. HT: CIJNews.

Did you see what Justin Trudeau slipped into the budget this week, hidden away on page 223?
It’s called a bank “bail-in regime”.

That means if a Canadian bank starts to fail, it would be allowed to seize your bank account to pay its bills. Seriously.

It’s what they did in Cyprus three years ago, when bankers there made risky loans to Greece. In a back-room deal, politicians and bankers decided to pay off the bank debts by just seizing 10% of everyone’s deposits.

The country had a melt-down. Banks closed, ATM withdrawals were limited. It was a disaster. Of course, well-connected insiders got all of their cash out in time.

It’s all right there in black and white in Trudeau’s budget. Click here to see for yourself.

This outrageous proposal is not yet law. But if Canadians accept it in silence, it will be. Hmmm.....If you want to know a 'man's' Character give him power! Read the full story here. 2016 Budget can be downloaded here.

Is Bringing in 300.000 'Economic refugees' a year into Canada really a 'great idea'?

Source
Canada - Mccallum: Refugees are “economic immigrants”, newcomers to surpass 300k per year. Is it really a great idea? HT: CijNews.

McCallum portrayed as “foolish” the immigration policy of the previous Conservative government which distinguished between “economic” immigration and refugees.

He asserted that the refugees are “economic immigrants” as they also contribute to the economic growth, and pledged to open Canada’s doors even wider in 2017-19 in an effort to increase the number of newcomers to more than 300,000 in each year.

The following are excerpts from Mccallum’s speech:
“Because of the aging population, because of the needs in Nova Scotia, the needs of Canada, we must grow our economic immigrants over time.
“But economic immigrants include refugees, refugees work. Economic refugees include family members, most spouseד work.
“Economic immigrants as defined also include spouses of principal applicants, some of whom don’t work.
So, we should get out of this foolishness of black versus white, economic versus others. All immigrants are economic immigrants in the sense that they contribute to our country…
“So, you in Nova Scotia, we in Canada, don’t want this to happen, because your population a bit more advanced in aging than the rest of the country, but all us face an aging population. So, immigration is important not only to Nova Scotia but to the country as a whole. Hmmm......Somehow i can't picture these immigrants moving to Nova Scotia or the Northern Territories.....Good luck with this. Read the full story here.

Double stabbing at Toronto military recruiting center prompts probe into possible terror link. (NaPo).

Toronto police are weighing a possible link to terrorism after a knife-wielding attacker injured two Canadian Forces members at an uptown recruitment centre.

“There were some comments made by the suspect at the time, and without getting into it, I want to be very careful, very cautious with what I do say,” Toronto Police Chief Mark Saunders told a CP24 TV interviewer about the attack that has drawn in CSIS and RCMP investigators.

Saunders refused to disclose what the 27-year-old subject yelled during the stabbing.

Just after 3:30 p.m., the alleged attacker walked into the Forces recruiting centre and apparently without provocation lunged at a uniformed service member behind the front desk.

He appears to be of Middle Eastern decent and was presenting himself as if he is Muslim, but it is so early in the investigation and all of that needs to be confirmed,” said a police source.

He did not elaborate, but several police sources say witnesses told them “Allah” was used.
Some heard him say, ‘Praise Allah’ and others heard ‘Allah’ or ‘Aly,’” a police source told the Sun. “Several heard the man use this terminology. It’s not something you take a chance on and this is why the call was made to the police agencies who handle terror issues.”
Personnel swarmed the man to disarm and subdue him, but another member was stabbed in the scuffle. Both injuries are deemed non-life-threatening.

Based entirely on what the 27-year-old said during and after the attack, investigators are not ruling out terrorism, but Saunders has been careful to avoid mentioning the word itself.

President of Islamic Circle of North America (Canada) : Trudeau should be leading society to “accommodate Islamic values”

Top Canadian Imam: Trudeau should be leading society to “accommodate Islamic values” (Cjinews).

On October 23, 2015, a few days after the landslide victory of the Liberal Party in the federal elections, Imam Iqbal Nadvi delivered the Friday sermon at Masjid Toronto Mosque (168 Dundas St. West, Toronto), which is affiliated with the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC).

Nadvi hailed the Muslim youths for mobilizing the Muslim community to vote in the elections and to help Muslim candidates to win their seats in Parliament.

He called on Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau to help the Muslim community to realize its main objective of making the Islamic values “the best of human values” by promoting in the Canadian society the idea that Islam is not a threat but an ally, and by accommodating Islamic values.

The following is a transcript of Imam Iqbal Nadvi’s sermon (17:23-19:17):

“I was suggesting someone that the previous Prime Minister the father [Pierre] Trudeau, he had a legacy, right?

This son [Justin Trudeau] has an opportunity to make a new legacy. How he can do it? If he just promoted in Western mind that Islam is not a threat. Islam is a nation, an ally. Islam is a very peaceful religion, and we Muslims we want to live as a part of this country. So, the fear factor supposed to be removed

If he brings where the Western system supposed to be, for example accommodating Islamic values, I can saw [sic] he will leave with a legacy even after he is not be a Prime Minister. Read and see the full story here.

MLNF: 'NO negotiations for the IS western (Canadian) hostages in the Philippines in Five months'

MLNF confirms NO negotiations for the IS western (Canadian) hostages in the Philippines. (MB).

Amid the election fever, a senior leader of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) has raised concern over the welfare of at least five foreigners and some Filipinos still in the hands of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG)  in Sulu.

I don’t really know for sure, but it seems the government has forgotten the foreign and local hostages,” the MNLF leader, who asked not to be named, asserted.

He said the case of the hostages still being held by the ASG may have been lost in “the ongoing election campaign and the military offensive in Sulu.”

The foreign hostages he was referring to include three foreigners – Canadians John Ridsel and Robert Hall, and Canadian Kjartan Sekkingtad – and a Filipina, Maritess Flor.

A Dutch bird watcher, Ewold Horn, is also among the foreign hostages after he and Filipino colleague, Lorenzo Vinciguerra were abducted in Tawi-Tawi four years ago. Vinciguerra has since been able to escape from their captors.

There, too, is Italian Rolando del Torchio, a former priest who now owns a pizza parlor in Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte. He was kidnapped in October last year.

The MNLF leader said he believed that the foreign captives were all with various ASG sub-groups scattered in Sulu and are being dragged around in the jungles as the bandits try to elude relentless military offensives.

ASG sub-leader Hatib Hajan Sawadjaan, whose group is holding the four Samal Island captives, had earlier demanded a P3-billion ransom for the three foreigners, which he later reduced to P900 million.

He said he spoke with them and asked if there was any ongoing negotiation or effort to secure the hostages’ freedom.“My friends told me that, at present, there was no negotiation,” the MNLF leader in Sulu said. Hmmm......It seems saving Canadian hostages is not on Trudeau's priority list. Read the full story here.

"Real Change" - Canada sells 43.3% of its official gold reserves. (pennyminingstocks).

According to the IMF (http://www.gold.org/research/latest-world-official-gold-reserves), Canada sold 1.3 tonnes of gold reserves (43.3% of its gold reserves) in January 2016.
Update: It seems the sale happened in December 2015. (See pictures below).
As of January 2016 Canada had 3.0 tonnes of Gold reserves and as of February 2016 only 1.7 tonnes.
Canada sold most of its gold in the 1990s with UK at the lowest price possible. Canada had 1,023 tonnes of gold reserves in 1965 the highest level recorded in its history.

Canada sold off half of its central bank gold holdings by 1985 down to 500 tonnes and then was a major participant in the western central bank collusion scheme to suppress the price of gold and sold gold at fire sale prices all through the 1990s up to 2002.

Spouse of Canadian Burkina faso victim Maude Carrier hung up on Trudeau's condolence call. (985fm). [Google Translated].

The spouse of Maude Carrier who died in the bomb attack Friday in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, had a lot to say and a lot on his heart when he addressed the 98,5FM this morning. Still shaken, Yves Richard deplored the lack of support from the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and the one he hardly can call "his" prime minister.

"I thank my close friends because it is they who landed home. The first official phone of the Ministry came on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, "in a tone that left no doubt about his disgust about the" work "of ministry officials led by StĂ©phane Dion.

"My prime minister called me Monday afternoon, Mr. Dion, forget it. In quite a standard formula: Mr. Trudeau told me good luck and condolences and that it was a Canadian pride. I asked him to stop his political blah blah. I asked him to kiss his wife and children and I hung up on him and it It felt good. " Read the full story here.

Carrier told Quebec City radio station FM93 on Monday she was ashamed by Trudeau’s promise to withdraw six CF-18 fighter jets from the ISIS bombing mission and urged him to keep the jets in the US-led international coalition.

I want Justin Trudeau, instead of condemning (the attacks) solely with words and his little mouth, to do it with airplanes,” Carrier told Montreal’s 98.5 FM. “I am ashamed.”

“I’m outraged” she said during an an interview with TVA Nouvelles.

This man [Trudeau] walks with a nice little haircut and always empty and agreed formulas”, referring to a tepid statement issued by the Prime Minister after the Burkina Faso attack which didn’t mention al-Qaeda or Islamist-inspired terrorism.

In another interview Carrier said “I’m revolted to have a prime minister who does not participate in combat”.

Ontario’s skyrocketing electricity prices endanger domestic manufacturing.

Ontario’s skyrocketing electricity prices endanger domestic manufacturing. (GM). By Adam White.

As an advocate for some of Ontario’s largest manufacturers, we fear the province’s long-term electricity plan is placing too high a financial burden on industry.

Our manufacturers are currently paying excessively high electricity rates for power the system doesn’t need; this surplus energy is then sold to our competitors in neighbouring jurisdictions (Quebec, New York, Michigan, Illinois) for a heavily discounted price. The math just doesn’t make sense.

This trend results in two outcomes. They can close, further opening the door to suppliers south of the border. Or they can move to the United States or Mexico.

Electricity costs in Ontario are unlikely to ease. The cost, in multiple billions, will be borne by Ontario electricity customers.

As policy-makers in Ontario and elsewhere turn their attention to the energy sector, we need to make sure that they keep the interests of Canadians in mind.Read the full story here.

EU, US States And Can provinces push for 2050 ban on petrol and diesel cars.

EU, US States And Can provinces push for 2050 ban on petrol and diesel cars. (Caradvice).

The European Commission’s push to have conventional petrol and diesel vehicles banned from dense city areas is building steam, with news this week that more regions will work towards the same goal.

In 2011, the European Commission proposed a commitment to massively transform Europe’s transport networks and needs, in a bid to cut overall carbon emissions by around 60 per cent.

The plan had initially been rejected by the UK, but this month’s international climate conference in Paris has seen 13 international members – including the UK – commit to accelerating the global adoption of zero-emission vehicles.

The UK already has the largest market for ultra-low emission vehicles in the EU, and the fourth largest in the world and today’s pledge reaffirms our commitment to ensuring almost every car and van is a zero emission vehicle by 2050,” UK transport minister Andrew Jones said.

Members of the new International Zero Emissions Vehicle Alliance include The Netherlands, Norway and the United Kingdom in Europe; Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Oregon, Rhode Island and Vermont in the United States; and Québec in Canada.

Jens Frølich Holthe, Political Advisor to Norway’s Minister for Environment, described the multi-region commitment as a positive step towards climate change control.

“We see working together with other proactive governments as a key to a global transition to an electric fleet. The problem of climate change is clearly global, and we see electric vehicles as one of the important global climate solutions.”   Hmmmm.....I presume Ontario is also included in this 'madness' since Wynne follows the California Model.Good luck with developing Electric trucks to transport all goods. Trudeau government’s approach displays unprecedented arrogance.

Trudeau government’s approach displays unprecedented arrogance. (Thestar).

The throne speech delivered to Parliament on Friday featured the usual platitudes and vague commitments. However, it made one very specific engagement, a crystal-clear commitment: “To make sure that every vote counts,” it declared, “the government will undertake consultations on electoral reform, and will take action to ensure that 2015 will be the last federal election conducted under the first-past-the-post voting system.”
More importantly, the government declares that regardless of consultations, it will end the voting system that has been in use in Canada since democracy was introduced here in 1791 and which has anchored our political culture.
What is the point of promising consultations if the government has already made up its mind to proceed?

Remarkably, this voting system is not enshrined in our Constitution. The Constitution Act specifies that Members of Parliament must be “elected” but says nothing about what system is to be used to choose who will sit in the House of Commons. There is no constitutional amending formula that applies to any changes made to how Canadians vote. In other words, the government can do what it wants.
But the Trudeau government’s approach displays unprecedented arrogance.
The government of Canada simply cannot assume the powers of unilaterally changing the way in which we vote. It must conduct true consultations — rigorous and comprehensive consultations that are not simply driven by the self-appointed advocates of reform.

Regardless of its quality, however, the consultation process must also include a referendum, no matter how much it costs. And if that referendum rejects reform, the government must abide by the result. One thing is for sure: the electoral process is not Ottawa’s to change unilaterally. No government has the moral right to alter the precious process of elections without the approval of the people. Hmmmm.....As i warned The Canuck version of Obama on Steroids. Trudeau 'Admin' exempts Syrian refugees from loan repayments.

Father Christmas Trudeau 'Admin' exempts Syrian refugees from loan repayments. (VancouverSun).

The federal Liberal government said Thursday that it will exempt Syrian refugees from a rule that can burden impoverished newcomers with loans of up to $10,000 upon arrival.

Critics say the government should expand that privilege to all asylum-seekers so they’re not forced to pay for the cost of their own flight to freedom.

A statement from Citizenship and Immigration Canada said many fleeing Syrian refugees have “lost everything” and will lack financial resources “for some time” after arriving in Canada.

“Given the extreme and unprecedented hardships faced by this community, Canada is upholding its humanitarian tradition by offering help and protection to those most in need,” the statement said.

“This includes waiving the issuance and repayment of immigration loans … and covering the cost of immigration medical examinations and transportation loans.”

China’s top climate change negotiator says keeping leaders away is key to climate talk success.

China’s top climate change negotiator says keeping leaders away is key to climate talk success. (ET).

Keeping state leaders away from the negotiations will play a major role in ensuring that crucial talks on a new global climate deal in Paris next week proceed smoothly, China’s top climate change negotiator said in an interview on Monday.

Representatives from nearly 200 countries will gather in the French capital to begin talks aimed at thrashing out a new global deal to cut climate-warming greenhouse gases.

Xie Zhenhua, China’s veteran climate chief, told Reuters in an interview that he was confident there was now sufficient “political will” to secure a new deal, and that changes to the “design” of the talks would help avoid the failures of Copenhagen in 2009.

“No country wants the situation in Copenhagen to be repeated,” he said. “Letting heads of state try to resolve the problems rather than leaving it to the negotiators was an error in the design and it led to an error in the result.”

Xie said China proposed to the secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change at an early stage to try to restrict the involvement of state leaders in order to ease the political pressures on negotiators.

They can speak at the opening ceremony, express hope about how the meeting should go, and make requests to their delegations, but afterwards, the specifics need to be resolved by the delegations,” he said.

China has pushed rich nations to meet their commitments to mobilise $100 billion of financing per year to help poorer countries mitigate and adapt to rising temperatures, and the issue remained a fundamental part of upcoming negotiations, Xie said.

While some have urged China to contribute to the fund, Beijing remains adamant that the obligations lie with rich nations. Xie said China was “willing to help developing countries in accordance with our abilities” and had already set up mechanisms to help poorer countries finance their fight against global warming.

China, already believed to be the world’s biggest source of greenhouse gases, pledged last year to bring its emissions to a peak by “around 2030″.

But the country, which currently depends on coal for nearly two thirds of its total energy needs, has come under pressure after approving large numbers of new coal mines and coal-fired power plants this year. Hmmmm............Made in China thanks the 'Useful idiots' for their cooperation in killing their own economies.

New Alberta climate-change plans include carbon taxes for individual Albertans.

New Alberta climate-change plans include carbon taxes for individual Albertans. (NAPO).

While the plan doesn’t set greenhouse gas emission targets with dates, the entire climate-change policy puts Alberta on track to reduce emissions by approximately 20 megatonnes in 2020 compared to what would be the case if no changes were made, and 50 megatonnes by 2030.

It will also cut methane emissions from flaring and leakage by 45 per cent from 2014 levels by 2025. Methane is roughly 30 times more potent than carbon dioxide as a heat-trapping gas.

The plan was hailed by energy and environmental leaders as a “game changer” that will make Alberta a global leader in fighting climate change. But it will also require Albertans to pay 4.7-cents more per litre of gas at the pumps in 2017, and 5.5 cents more per litre of diesel, plus an extra $320 to heat their homes in 2017, rising to $470 by 2018.

The $3 billion raised by these carbon taxes won’t go into government coffers, but will go back to Albertans through a rebate program and by building green infrastructure and public transit, the premier said.

— Alberta will phase out all pollution created by burning coal by 2030, and transition to more renewable energy and natural-gas generation. The province promises the plan will provide reasonable electricity prices for consumers and businesses.

— Within the next months, the government will set up a facilitator and negotiator to work with coal-plant operators to figure out how best to move forward, since the province’s 18 coal-fired electricity plants currently create 55 per cent of the province’s electricity.

Two-thirds of coal-generated electricity will be replaced by renewables, mostly wind power.

— Renewable-energy sources will comprise up to 30 per cent of Alberta’s electricity production by 2030.

Obviously, if I was the owner of a coal company, I would prefer that this announcement hadn’t been made, but we’re very committed to working with them in a collaborative way to ensure that they do not unduly bear the burden of the benefits that all Albertans will enjoy as a result of us phasing out coal,” Premier Rachel Notley said.

Meanwhile......In Germany

Coal resurgence darkens Germans’ green image

Germany generated 44 per cent of its electricity from coal last year, more than any other EU member state. That compares with 26 per cent from renewables and 16 per cent from its eight remaining nuclear plants.

Ms Merkel’s government had not reckoned with the power of the coal lobby. Plans this year to slap a levy on emissions from the dirtiest plants powered by lignite had to be abandoned after they met opposition from industry, unions and local politicians. This coalition, led by RWE, Germany’s second biggest power provider and the operator of most of the country’s lignite plants, said the levy would threaten 100,000 jobs in industrial regions and would push up costs to industry and consumers.

Meanwhile......In China.

China is building one coal-fired power plant every 7 to 10 days, while Japan plans to build 43 coal-fired power projects to replace its shuttered nuclear units.

Japan is financing $1 billion in loans for coal-fired plants in Indonesia and $630 million in loans for coal-fired plants in India and Bangladesh.[iii]

Japan is using climate finance funds for the projects since these new coal-fired plants are less polluting than older coal-fired plants and therefore qualify as clean energy. Japan believes that the promotion of high-efficiency coal-fired power plants is one of the “realistic, pragmatic and effective approaches” to deal with climate change.

China added 39 gigawatts of coal-fired capacity in 2014 — 3 gigawatts more than it added in 2013. That is equivalent to three 1,000 megawatt units every four weeks.[v] At the peak, from 2005 through 2011, China added about two 600-megawatt coal plants a week, for 7 straight years.

And, China is expected to add the equivalent of a new 600-megawatt plant every 10 days for the next 10 years. These new coal plants that China is constructing are more efficient and cleaner than their old coal-fired plants.[vi]

China consumes more than 4 billion tons of coal each year, compared to less than 1 billion tons in the United States and 600 million tons in the European Union. China surpassed the United States to become the largest global carbon dioxide emitter in 2007, and it is on track to double annual U.S. carbon dioxide emissions by 2017. By 2040, China’s coal power fleet is expected to be 50 percent larger than it is today and these power plants typically operate for 40 years or more.[vii] Hmmmm.......I'm sure these failed now 'Canadian liberal' policies will stop 'Global warming' (Sarc).

Biden’s New NSA Chief Mocked Israeli Nuke Fears

Biden’s New NSA Chief Mocked Israeli Nuke Fears. (TJP).

Colin Kahl, a former deputy secretary of defense for the Middle East in President Obama’s first administration, was recently named Vice President Joe Biden’s national security adviser and deputy assistant to the president.

But, as Lee Smith reports in the Weekly Standard, Kahl is perhaps best known - or would be, if more people realized who was responsible - for deleting the reference to Jerusalem as the eternal, undivided capital of Israel in the Democratic platform during the last presidential campaign.

What should be of even greater concern is Kahl’s hostility to action against Iran’s drive towards nuclear weapons capability, as well as his eagerness to understate Arab leaders’ thirst for such power and to underestimate the existential dangers to Israel posed by such ambitions.

As Smith points out, Kahl was a senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security when he co-authored a May, 2013 report which sought to assure legislators that it would be possible to contain a nuclear Iran should measures to stop it fail to achieve their goal. That report described how the U.S. could “manage and mitigate the consequences of a nuclear-armed Iran.”

Although the CNAS is generally considered a centrist think tank, it issued reports recommending non-intervention in Syria, including not arming the early opposition, as well as taking a soft, pro-diplomacy stance towards Iran.

In advance of the CNAS report’s publication, Kahl wrote an astonishing op-ed in the Washington Post which sought to convince readers that Israel made things much worse than they would have been when it bombed Iraq’s Osirik reactor, and that there would be similar or still more disastrous results should Israel dare to attack Iran’s nuclear weapons plants. Think that’s a mischaracterization? The title of the op-ed is “An Israeli attack against Iran would backfire - just like Israel’s 1981 strike on Iran.”

Kahl warned in his op-ed that if Israel were to strike it would doom the likelihood of Iran’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency. “An Israeli strike would also end any prospect of Iran cooperating with the IAEA, seriously undermining the international community’s ability to detect rebuilding efforts.”

It seems Kahl may be the only one still holding out hope that Iran will ever cooperate with the IAEA regardless of any action by Israel. He also claimed Saddam was nowhere near ready to create nukes, so Israel’s Osirik mission was premature and ill-advised.

Why Joe Biden - someone most Israel supporters used to consider reliably pro-Israel, would pick someone like Kahl is a mystery.

As the Weekly Standard‘s Smith was told by at least one senior official at a pro-Israel organization in Washington, D.C. about Kahl: “He tried to insert an anti-Israel plank into the Democratic party’s platform and failed to the point where the president had to personally intervene to repair the damage. Since he left government, he has galloped to the fringe of the Iran debate, floating all kinds of suggestions - including letting Iran go nuclear - that the party had to publicly shoot down. You really have to ask yourself why Joe Biden thought he was an appropriate choice.”

That it’s Joe Biden who has summoned Kahl to his side, rather than someone who stands any chance of being the Democratic’s choice to lead the party in 2016, may be the only good news in this story.
