Any person running to be a Member of Parliament in Canada should be a supporter of the Constitution of Canada, the Charter of Rights and the Criminal Code of Canada.

1. Do you reject the teachings of Hassan Banna, Sayid Qutb and al-Maududi as being the antithesis of the Canadian Constitution and the Charter of Rights?

2. Will you denounce the Muslim Brotherhood and Jamaat-e-Islami as having values that run contrary to the Canadian Constitution and the Charter of Rights?

3. Is the head of the Greenlight Committee for the Liberal Party of Canada aware of this problem? Are they acting on it?

4. Do all candidates from all parties reject the misogynistic views advanced by the Muslim Student Association (and others) that advocate you can beat your wife and that she will see this as a sign of “love and concern”?

Video - Parents Object After 7th-Graders Write 'Allah Is the Only God' in History Class

A new middle school curriculum being taught in some Tennessee classrooms is raising eyebrows.

This year, coursework mandated by the state includes the study of Islam.

One parent told Channel 4 she believes something is out of balance when students can’t say God or pray in school, but they can spend several weeks learning about Islam.

More than 20 pages of the seventh grade social studies textbook for the Franklin Special School District are devoted to studying Islam. That amounts to three weeks of instruction time in the classroom.

“In all of the homework my children have ever brought home, I have never seen the level of detail about other religions,” said Laura Jones, the mother of a middle school student. “I was completely speechless.”

Jones learned about the curriculum while helping her 12-year-old daughter with her homework. Her daughter attends Freedom Middle School.

“I don’t want to come off as anti-Islamic,” Jones said. “They should spend fair and equal time with all religions.”

The state adopted new standards for social studies last year requiring every seventh grader to learn about Islam. They will be tested on it during standardized testing, no exceptions.

State curriculum officials were not available for an interview on Tuesday but told Channel 4 this is the first year that Islam was concentrated in the seventh grade world history course.

Jones said she found the concentration concerning, especially considering the separation of church and state.

She said her daughter is expected to know the Five Pillars of Islam but not the Ten Commandments. Jones said it’s causing confusion in her Christian-oriented home.

“They are asking me, ‘Why are there two gods? Are there more than two gods? I thought there was only one God,’” Jones said. Read the full story here.

Why would Turkey’s devout Muslims, who enjoy the comfort of a larger number of mosques per 1,000 people than “sharia state” Iran, insist on praying at what was built as a church 1,476 years ago? 

How does the name sound? Pretty much like Saint Paul’s Mosque in London, or the San Marco Mosque in Venice? What would such names mean to most Muslims? Conquest and justice. What would the al-Aqsa Synagogue or the Sultanahmet Church mean to Muslims? Defeat and injustice. Right? Right. 

Passing by the ruins of the minaret-less, to-be-restored Ottoman mosque on the “high street” of a north Aegean Greek island, I have often wondered what it meant to Greeks. What kind of security threat would it pose to the locals – or to Athens – if it were restored into a museum? Paranoia. Right? Right. Then one day I read this in a conservative Turkish newspaper: “Muslims who visit the island and witness the miserable shape of the mosque, which still carries all possible traces of Ottoman architecture, come close to tears.” Sad? Sad.

On the (far) eastern side of the “bluest” divide in the world, the Hagia Sophia Church in Trabzon (originally, Trapezounta), built by Manuel I between 1238 and 1263, was converted into a mosque after Sultan Mehmed II conquered the city in 1461. Its frescos were covered in whitewash. In 1964, the church-mosque was turned into a museum to be converted into a mosque once again about a year ago.

And the Muslim congregation complains, according to another conservative Muslim Turkish newspaper, that “Muslims are being forced to pray ‘in a mosque’ in front of ‘Christian icons and a fresco.’” Muslims, therefore, demand the lifting of restrictions on the destruction of such historical objects at their “mosque.” No one asked why there were Christian objects at a mosque in the first place. 

The Hagia Sophia “Mosque’s” namesake in Istanbul was built in 537, and served as an Eastern Orthodox cathedral and Seat of the Patriarchate of Constantinople (except between 1204 and 1261 when it was converted into a Roman Catholic cathedral under the Latin Empire). 

In 1453, Mehmed II the “Conqueror” ordered the cathedral to be converted into a mosque. The bells, altars, iconostasis, sacrificial vessels and other relics were removed from the holy building. Mosaics depicting Jesus, Mother Mary and Christian saints and angels were removed or plastered over; and Islamic features were added to the Orthodox-Roman Catholic-and now Muslim prayer house.

In 1935, the Orthodox-Roman Catholic-Muslim prayer house was turned into a museum. Since then, Turkey’s pious Muslims have launched numerous campaigns to open the unfortunate “Orthodox-Catholic-then-Orthodox again-Muslim prayer house-and-now-museum” to Muslim prayers again. 

Most recently, the chief cleric of Istanbul’s historical Sultanahmet Mosque requested that the Hagia Sophia Museum be converted into a mosque. If the cycle is completed, we shall eventually end up having a holy building with “an Orthodox-Catholic-Orthodox-Muslim-museum-and Muslim again” past and present. 

Why would Turkey’s devout Muslims, who enjoy the comfort of a larger number of mosques per 1,000 people than “sharia state” Iran, insist on praying at what was built as a church 1,476 years ago? It’s the childish feeling of conquest.

It’s a feeling pretty much like conquering an ancient castle from the enemy, not the pleasure of saying Muslim prayers at an edifice with Christian heritage dating back to the year 537. 

And once again, it’s time for double-talk for Islamists. While the Turkish-language pundits will encourage Muslims to recapture the Hagia Sophia “Mosque,” the neo-Muslim crusaders will be busy shaking their heads in deception and telling the Western audience that this is not good and definitely a corrupt interpretation of modern-day Islam because of x, y and z…

Some Westerners will buy it, some will not. But for the sake of honesty and realism, the stealth Islamist crusaders who often selectively portray Islam’s liberal face should stop propagating to win the hearts and minds in the more powerful parts of the world and try to convince the average Istanbul Muslim that the name Hagia Sophia Mosque sounds a bit strange. 

I understand that their job is to look pretty to non-Muslims. But sadly, a million column inches they may write with all their admirable intellectual power are exposed to the risk of ending up in the intellectual trash can with just a single act by a real-life, devout Muslim man.

Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America Cautions Muslims Against Participating in American Legal System. (TranslatingJihad).Below is my translation of an Arabic-language paper published by the Assembly of Muslim Jurists of America (AMJA) in 2007, and presented at their 2008 careers conference in Houston, which provides guidelines for American Muslims on what they can and cannot do vis-à-vis infidel legal systems. The paper makes clear that according to Islam, the only legitimate law is that which comes from Allah, and in fact authority to make laws rests with Allah alone. This renders every other legal system—including the American system—illegitimate.

Since the fact nevertheless remains that many Muslims do live under such ‘infidel’ legal systems, the paper provides guidelines for how they should act under these systems, specifically addressing issues such as Muslims studying man-made law (i.e. non-Islamic law), Muslims governing under infidel legal systems, Muslims working as judges or lawyers or prosecuting cases in infidel courts, and Muslims granting powers of attorney to non-Muslims in disputes. Throughout the paper it is made abundantly clear that Muslims should view the American and other non-Muslim legal systems as infidel systems, and that they are only to participate in them in specific circumstances in order to benefit Islam and Muslims generally. They are specifically instructed to feel hatred in their hearts toward such infidel legal systems, and to do everything within their power to make the Islamic Shari’a supreme, even if that means engaging in deception in certain cases.

It is important to note that AMJA--whose stated purpose is to "clarify the rulings of the sharia which are relevant for those who live in America"--is not just a fringe organization with no influence. The Islamic scholars involved with this group occupy influential positions in universities, Islamic centers, and mosques throughout the United States. Texas Department of Public Safety officials are asking questions following a report that Department of Homeland Security Advisory Council member Mohamed Elibiary may have been given access to a sensitive database of state and local intelligence reports, and then allegedly shopped some of those materials to a media outlet. He allegedly used the documents to claim the department was promoting “Islamophobia” — claims that the media outlet ultimately rejected. They declined to do the story.Source.
