Scandinavians launch ship to break Gaza blockade, probably haven't heard the news: "Egypt lifts 5-year Gaza blockade".
Scandinavians launch ship to break Gaza blockade, probably haven't heard the news:"Egypt lifts 5-year Gaza blockade".(JPost).OSLO - Scandinavian activist groups are launching an aid ship destined for Gaza on Tuesday, hoping to challenge the Israeli blockade and draw international attention to the conflict in a move reminiscent of the 2010 "Freedom Flotilla", organizers said. "We have the same goal as the previous flotillas, to put an end to the blockade of Gaza by challenging the Israeli navy," said Torstein Dahle, the leader of the Norwegian section of the activist group "Ship to Gaza". "This time around it will be an easy task for the Israelis to stop us because we will be so few and strictly non-violent," Dahle told Reuters at Oslo harbour. In May 2010, several aid ships trying to run Israel's blockade of the Gaza Strip were halted by Israeli naval commandos, who killed nine pro-Palestinian Turks aboard one of the vessels. A second convoy, planned a year later, did not sail after the organizers said they had been sabotaged. In November 2011, the Israeli navy boarded two yachts in international waters, one Canadian and one Irish, carrying pro-Palestinian activists and medical supplies and heading for Gaza to challenge the Israeli blockade. The SV Estelle, a 53-metre vessel backed mainly by Swedish and Norwegian groups, will sail from Oslo on Tuesday, and organizers hope several other ships will join it during its journey before it reaches waters off Gaza in October. Israel says it blockades seaborne approaches to the Gaza Strip to prevent arms smuggling to the Palestinians.Read the full story here.

- Lobbying Report: Drones Fly Through Congress to Enter US Skies.Within weeks and possibly days, President Obama is likely to sign into law a bill that will bring unmanned aerial vehicles - drones - into US general airspace, crisscrossing the country in company with passenger planes and other human-carrying aircraft. The story of how planes without on-board pilots will gain entry into our crowded airspace, where birds are life threatening, possibly within the next three years, is one involving campaign contributions, jobs and fear. As we will see, safety appears not to be the top priority.Drones like the Reaper are also used for assassination, killing people without trial or conviction, a violation of international law, compounded by the problem of misidentification. The Reaper can also be used strictly for surveillance and there are a variety of drones that can perform either killer or surveillance functions. Drones are also being produced for commercial uses, which include scanning land and oceans for agricultural, mining and fishing enterprises.Given the deadly record of drones, I and others in New York State and elsewhere, moved to lobby Senator Schumer to end his support of the drone amendment.Hmmmm.....Dictatorship coming soon to a neighbourhood near you?Could be inforced with these neat little hummingbird drones once they passed legislation for them?Quote"The company, based in California with 732 full-time employees, expects to sell even more drones to the Government once rules are relaxed to allow spying within America.Read the full story here.
- "Obama regime 'Protecting' Gadhafi?Report: US seeking country to take in Gadhafi. The Barack Obama administration has launched an intense search for a country that could provide refuge to Libyan strongman Moammar Gadhafi, The New York Times reported Saturday."We learned some lessons from Iraq, and one of the biggest is that Libyans have to be responsible for regime change, not us," a senior Obama administration official told the newspaper. But amid looming indictments against Gadhafi by the International Criminal Court in the Hague for the atrocities committed against his own people during the ongoing popular uprising and for the 1988 bombing of Pan Am 103, U.S. officials only have a narrow list of potential host countries.Three officials for President Barack Obama's administration told the Times they were considering finding a country that has not signed or ratified the Rome Statute, which requires countries to turn over anyone being indicted for trial by the ICC.That approach raises the prospect that Gadhafi could find haven in another country in Africa, where about half of the continent's countries have not signed the treaty. The United States is also not a signatory due to worries that is military officers and intelligence officers could be prosecuted "What we're simply trying to do is find some peaceful way to organize an exit, if the opportunity arises."Hmmmm.....It seems almost like Farrakhan has Barack Hussein Obama's ear?Read the full story here.
- Clinton warns intolerance threatens Arab revolts.Via :Forbes.BERLIN -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is warning that rising intolerance toward women and religious minorities threatens to hijack democratic transitions around the Arab world and spread violent extremism.Clinton told an award ceremony in the German capital on Friday that she was disturbed by recent developments in post-revolt Egypt in which women and Coptic Christians were singled out for attacks and abuse. She said such incidents test the unity of pro-democracy demonstrators whose peaceful protests ousted Egypt's authoritarian president and could fracture the reform movement.Clinton said she feared similar backsliding elsewhere in the Mideast and stressed it was critical for Egyptians and other Arabs whose nations are in the throes of change to resist intolerance and demand that their new leaders embrace open and inclusive governments.Source.
- Texas University Endowment Stockpiling $1 Billion in Gold Bars. The University of Texas Investment Management Co., the second-largest U.S. academic endowment, took delivery of almost $1 billion in gold bullion and is storing the bars in a New York vault, according to the fund’s board. The fund, whose $19.9 billion in assets ranked it behind Harvard University’s endowment as of August, according to the National Association of College and University Business Officers, added about $500 million in gold investments to an existing stake last year, said Bruce Zimmerman, the endowment’s chief executive officer. The holdings are worth about $987 million, based on yesterday’s closing price of $1,486 an ounce for Comex futures. The decision to turn the fund’s investment into gold bars was influenced by Kyle Bass, a Dallas hedge fund manager and member of the endowment’s board, Zimmerman said at its annual meeting on April 14. Bass made $500 million on the U.S. subprime-mortgage collapse.“Central banks are printing more money than they ever have, so what’s the value of money in terms of purchases of goods and services,” Bass said yesterday in a telephone interview. “I look at gold as just another currency that they can’t print any more of.”Hmmmm....Anyone else thinking the country is heading in the right direction.Read the full story here.

- "The War On Christianity".Persecuted for his cross: Electrician told he faces the sack for Christian symbol on his van dashboard.(DailyMail)An electrician faces the sack for displaying a small palm cross on the dashboard of his company van.Former soldier Colin Atkinson has been summoned to a disciplinary hearing by the giant housing association where he has been employed for 15 years because he refuses to remove the symbol.Mr Atkinson, a regular worshipper at church, said: ‘The treatment of Christians in this country is becoming diabolical...but I will stand up for my faith.’Throughout his time at work, he has had an 8in-long cross made from woven palm leaves attached to the dashboard shelf below his windscreen without receiving a single complaint. But his bosses at publicly funded Wakefield and District Housing (WDH) in West Yorkshire – the fifth-biggest housing organisation in England – have demanded he remove the cross on the grounds it may offend people or suggest the organisation is Christian. Mr Atkinson’s union representative said he faces a full disciplinary hearing next month for gross misconduct, which could result in dismissal. The association strongly promotes ‘inclusive’ policies and allows employees to wear religious symbols at work.It has provided stalls at gay pride events, held ‘diversity days’ for travellers, and hosted a gender reassignment event entitled A World That Includes Transpeople.Mr Atkinson, who has an unblemished work record, said he had not been shown similar respect. ‘The past few months have been unbelievable, a nightmare,’ he said.‘I have worked in the coal mines and served in the Army in Northern Ireland and I have never suffered such stress. The treatment of Christians in this country is becoming diabolical. It is political correctness taken to the extreme.’But he added: ‘I have never been so full of resolve. I am determined to stand up for my rights. If they sack me, so be it. But I am standing up for my faith.’Mr Atkinson’s battle follows a series of similar cases involving Christians who claim their freedoms have been curbed following the introduction of controversial equality laws.Campaigners accused the housing association of ‘remarkable intolerance’ at a time when millions of Christians will be celebrating Palm Sunday today, a week before Easter Sunday. Palms are traditionally distributed during services to mark Christ’s triumphal entrance into Jerusalem.Andrea Williams, of the Christian Legal Centre, which is backing Mr Atkinson, said: ‘Colin Atkinson is a decent and hard-working man, yet after many years of service he has been told he cannot continue to have a small palm cross in his van.‘This smacks of something deeply illiberal and remarkably intolerant. Is this the kind of society the British public want to live in? ‘The cross is a profound symbol of God’s love for all of us. We should not be embarrassed about it.’Mr Cunliffe said his union abhorred any form of discrimination, but the association was ‘taking its politically correct policies far too far’. He said: ‘The company is using a sledgehammer to crack a nut. It is totally disproportionate that someone should face dismissal for displaying a discreet religious symbol. Hmmm......When will the Pope do the right thing and confront this "War on Christianity"?Read the full story here.
- Israel may let new flotilla reach Gaza.(IrishTimes)Israel is considering allowing the Freedom Flotilla 2, due to sail next month, to reach Gaza, to prevent a repeat of last summer’s clash between flotilla participants and Israeli forces.A document drawn up by the foreign ministry in Jerusalem and presented to prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggested as one option allowing the vessels to reach Gaza without interference.Such a scenario, it was argued, would not undermine the legality of Israel’s naval blockade imposed on the Hamas-controlled strip. As proof, foreign ministry officials noted that when Ehud Olmert was prime minister several vessels were permitted to reach Gaza.Another alternative presented to Mr Netanyahu is to have Cypriot forces carry out security checks on the flotilla. If the vessels were not carrying weapons, they would be allowed to proceed.According to reports, Turkey’s IHH organisation is planning a large flotilla to mark the one-year anniversary of last year’s interception. Six vessels were boarded by Israeli commandos on May 31st, resulting in the deaths of nine Turkish activists when clashes broke out on the main vessel, the Mavi Marmara. The lead vessel on this year’s flotilla is again expected to be the Mavi Marmara, which will be accompanied by 15 vessels and nearly 1,000 activists from dozens of countries.Irish supporters have reportedly purchased a vessel to take part in the flotilla. Irish activists due to sail include former Fianna Fáil TD Chris Andrews and his party colleague Senator Mark Daly, Sinn Féin TD Aengus Ó Snodaigh, Left Alliance TD Richard Boyd Barrett, Sinn Féin councillor Gerry MacLochlainn from Derry and artist Felim Egan.In tandem with the diplomatic moves, the army continued preparations to intercept a new flotilla.Operation Green Pastures is aimed at stopping the vessels as far as possible from Gaza. Military sources said the army was working on “new methods” to deal with the activists, but warned that despite the planning there was a “high probability” of casualties this time around as well.Read the full story here.

- HT:BigPeace.France: Waving A Foreign Flag May Soon Be Illegal.Fresh on the heels of the Burka ban, the French Parliament is considering a bill that would ban the display of any foreign flag. Connexion France reports:“WAVING or displaying foreign flags in France could become an offence if an amendment is passed by MPs.A bill originally targeting the waving or display of non-French flags at mairies in France, particularly at weddings, has had an amendment added to make it an offence to wave such flags in public. The new amendment, proposed on March 30, by MP Guy Teissier would “regulate the use of foreign flags in French public spaces by demanding prior permission”.According to news site rue89.com Mr Teissier said: “A certain number of people, be they French, foreigners or not, during a diverse range of occasions – national holidays, protests – or in their daily lives, wave the flags of their country of origin.”He added this was “provocation against the principles of the French republic”.If the amendment is voted through, waving a foreign flag in public without prior permission could be punishable by a fine of up to €1,500.Hmmmm....."Ah ! ça ira, ça ira, ça ira"Read the full story here.

The tower will nearly be double the height of the 828-metre Burj Khalifa in Dubai and will include office, hotel and residential units. The paper also said that the new tower will be located in a new city that would be specifically built around the tower in Obhur, just outside of the port city of Jeddah. The 8.9-square-mile city will be able to accommodate 80,000 people and over a million visitors.Although the report indicated that the tower would be designed by Adrian Smith, who also designed the Burj Khalifa, a report in Wired.co.uk quoting the Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture said that the firm is "definitely not working on a mile-high tower design", and the reports are based on anonymous and unofficial sources.King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud at a presentation of a project in Jeddah.Hmmmm.....Why does it remind me of the 'Tower of Babel"?Read the full story here.

Japan widened its evacuation zone surrounding the quake-hit nuclear power plant due to increased levels of radiation, which have had accumulated, as a strong aftershock hit the area on Monday, a month after the devastating incident occurred. Tokyo and eastern part of Japan was shook with a 7.1 magnitude earthquake on Monday evening, which then triggered a small tsunami alert. State television said the aftershock caused an off-site power supply for the damaged reactors to shut down. Geological survey conducted by the United States said that the aftershock hit 38 kilometers (24 miles) west of the Iwaki city at a depth of 14 kilometers (8 miles). Workers at Tokyo Electric Power Co had ceased pouring cooling waters on reactors no. 1, 2 and 3 at the Fukushima power plant. Families living in towns and villages outside the 20 kilometer evacuation zone, where more radiation have had accumulated, would be evacuated, according to Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano. He said hospitalized patients, children and pregnant women should avoid the area within 20-30 kilometers from the Fukushima complex. Also, Edano said that the decision to expand the evacuation area was based on the data analyzed from the accumulated radiation exposure information. He said the evacuation precautions are meant to secure the safety of the people who might live in the area for 6 months to one year. However, it is not necessary to evacuate immediately, he added. Previously, Japan did not agree to the proposed plans to extend the evacuation zone despite concerns from neighboring countries regarding the radiation that might spread from the damaged nuclear reactors at Fukushima.Source : Here .

- Syria to lift emergency law. President Assad expects legislation to be enacted "by next week" and pledges further reforms.Syria's president has said he expects his government to lift the decades-old emergency law next week.Bashar al-Assad also pledged further reforms in a televised speech to his new cabinet after it was sworn in on Saturday."The juridical commission on the emergency law has prepared a series of proposals for new legislation, and these proposals will be submitted to the government, which will issue a new law within a week at the most," he said."When the lifting of the emergency law package is issued, it should be firmly enforced. The Syrian people are civilised. They love order and they do not accept chaos and mob rule ... We will not be lenient toward sabotage."Lifting the 48-year-old state of emergency has been a key demand during a wave of protests over the past month. The emergency law gives the regime a free hand to arrest people without charge and extends the state's authority into virtually every aspect of Syrians' lives. While pledging dialogue with unions and a number of reforms, he maintained that stability is his top priority."We do not want to be hasty. Any reforms have to be based on maintaining internal stability," he said.Assad said unemployment remains the biggest problems in the country and pledged that his new government will follow through on measures introduced by the former cabinet. He said he realises there is a gap between citizens and the state institutions and that the government has to "keep up with the aspirations of the people"."The world is rapidly changing around us and we have to keep up with developments," he said. "We have to focus on the demands and the aspirations of the people or there will be a sense of anger".Assad also said he was saddened by the loss of lives in the demonstrations and called thsoe killed 'martyrs'. "We pray for their souls, whether they're from the armed forces, the police or ordinary citizens. Investigations are continuing to find those responsible and hold them responsible."Al Jazeera's Rula Amin, reporting from Damascus, described his speech as "much more conciliatory and realistic" than his speech on March 30 in which he blamed foreign conspirators for the unrest."He used key words that the protesters use. For example he spoke about people's need for dignity, for more freedom, for justice. This will strike a cord with some of those who have been protesting on the streets, but not with all," she said."He acknowledged the new reality, how the police and the security forces here are not trained for this kind of situations and that they should be retrained and need new equipments. He's saying peaceful protests are now parts of people's lives and will be tolerated."Rights groups say at least 200 people have been killed in a brutal crackdown since protests began.Scores of people have been arrested, and US-based Human Rights Watch said on Friday that many of those released said they had been tortured while in detention. Adel Safar, the prime minister, unveiled the new cabinet on Thursday, and it is expected to carry out broad changes. But the government has little power in the one-party state dominated by Assad, his family and the security apparatus.Protests against Assad's rule have intensified despite the use of force and mass arrests mixed with promises of reform and concessions to minority groups and conservative Muslims.Read the full story here.
- Druze in Golan rally against Assad. For first time, Druze living in Golan Heights join protests against Syrian government. For weeks, Druze residents in both Syria and the Golan Heights have voiced their support for Syrian President Bashar Assad – but things started to change Saturday.Following a rare anti-Assad protest by Druze in Syria, some 200 Druze residents of Golan Heights villages demonstrated against the Syrian ruler. The protestors held up Syrian flags and signs supporting anti-Assad protestors across the border."A government change is unavoidable," said Ahmad, who resides in Majdel Shams. "It's true that Assad spoke about change, but that came after a massacre against our people. It's true that not too many people arrived at the protest, but some stayed home yet still support us."Some protestors lit candles in honor of those killed in Syrian riots and called for an end to the bloodshed. "We in the Golan are united around the fact that we are an inseparable part of Syria, yet the disagreement has to do with the regime that will lead the state," said another protestor, Yusef. "There is no doubt that change must come, and we saw it in Tunisia, in Egypt, and in Libya too recently." The rally ended after about an hour and a half with no incident.Read the full story here.
- $105.5 Billion in Automatic Obamacare Spending: Half Billion to Community Organizations to Police ObamaCare in Their Areas. Thanks to the irrepressible Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, who is emerging as the most energetic and principled conservative leader of the 112th Congress, the Congressional Research Service published a report on Feb. 10 detailing how the Obama administration is planning to spend $105.5 billion that was put on an appropriations autopilot in the health care legislation the Democrat-majority Congress enacted last year.Unless the Republican-controlled House in this Congress can force President Obama to sign new legislation forbidding disbursal of this $105.5 billion, the administration will spend it to lay the basic foundations for a socialistic health care system in the United States. The CRS report includes a 12-page table itemizing a broad array of intrusions into the prerogatives of states and individuals authorized by provisions in the Obamacare law and funded for this and future years without the need of Congress passing the customary annual appropriations laws to underwrite them.Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., joined with Steve King in sending a letter to House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., asking them to include language in any new continuing resolution prohibiting the administration from spending any of the $105.5 billion in automatic funding built into the Obamacare law."If we do not stand our ground on the CR, leverage it as the 'must pass bill' that it is, and use it to stop the $105.5 billion in automatically appropriated funds, Obamacare will be implemented on our watch," King and Bachmann wrote the Republican leaders.Boehner and Cantor did not heed King and Bachmann. They pushed a CR that did not stop the $105.5 billion in automatic spending. Now every American who opposes a government takeover of our health care system should ask Boehner and Cantor: How exactly are you going to stop this $105.5 billion?Or are you going to let Obama spend it?Hmmmm......Dictatorship or Democracy?Read the full story here.
- Democrats' Disgust With Obama.Via.Yahoo.NEW YORK – The budget deal, angrily rejected by Nancy Pelosi as it passed Thursday, was the last straw. Patricia Murphy on why some liberals are now pushing for a primary challenge to the president. As President Obama headed to Chicago Thursday afternoon to kick off the first official fundraiser of his re-election campaign, he left behind a sizable collection of dispirited Democrats. They were not relishing the chance to vote on a budget-cutting bill that had been forged without their input and that most found repugnant. The compromise that Obama struck last week with House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to keep the federal government running contained steep cuts to some of the party’s most cherished programs—nutrition for poor women and children, long-stalled transportation projects, funding for community health centers—as well as language barring the District of Columbia from using its own tax dollars to finance abortions.Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO), chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus, warned that the $38 billion in promised cutbacks would hurt the most vulnerable Americans. “We don’t have enough time to talk about the ways it violates our values,” he told The Daily Beast. There is no more visible symbol of Democratic disgruntlement than the woman who was perhaps the president’s closest ally when she wielded the speaker’s gavel. When Nancy Pelosi voted against the budget measure Thursday, she did little to hide her anger with the White House over the fact that Obama, for the first time, had left her out of the negotiations on a major deal. Instead, he chose to work directly with Boehner and Reid to hammer out the compromise that each could take back to their caucuses for approval.“I have been very disappointed in the administration to the point where I’m embarrassed that I endorsed him,” one senior Democratic lawmaker said. “It’s so bad that some of us are thinking, is there some way we can replace him? How do you get rid of this guy?” “I feel no ownership of that or responsibility to it, except to say we don’t want to shut down the government,” the minority leader said. “As was pretty evident, House Democrats were not a part of that agreement.”Hmmm....You created the 'dictator' now you're afraid?Read the full story here.
- "Who needs a Constitution"?Gov't asks high court to take GPS tracking case.Via .MyWay.
WASHINGTON (AP) - The Obama administration on Friday asked the Supreme Court to take up an important privacy case for the digital age, whether the police need a warrant before using a global positioning system device to track a suspect's movements. The administration is appealing a lower court ruling that reversed a criminal conviction because the police did not obtain a warrant for the GPS device they secretly installed on a man's car.The federal appeals court in Washington said that officers violated the Fourth Amendment prohibition against unreasonable searches. Other appeals courts have ruled that search warrants aren't necessary for GPS tracking. The Justice Department says prompt resolution of the divergent opinions is critically important to law enforcement.A three-judge panel of Democratic and Republican appointees unanimously threw out the conviction and life sentence of Antoine Jones of Washington, D.C., a nightclub owner convicted of operating a cocaine distribution ring.Police put the GPS device on Jones' Jeep and tracked his movements for a month. The judges said the prolonged surveillance was a factor in their decision. The government has argued that using a GPS device is no different from a beeper authorities used, with the high court's blessing in 1983, to help track a suspect to his drug lab. The court said then that people on public roads have no reasonable expectation of privacy. The Justice Department said GPS devices are especially useful in early stages of an investigation, when they can eliminate the use of time-consuming stakeouts as officers seek to gather evidence.Four other appellate judges in Washington said the entire appeals court should have heard the case, faulting their colleagues for the ruling in favor of Jones. In another case, from California, a three-judge panel in San Francisco upheld the use of a GPS device without a warrant, saying it was no different from having officers tail a suspect. That decision provoked a blistering dissent from Judge Alex Kozinski, who said the court handed "the government the power to track the movements of every one of us, every day of our lives."Hmmm.......Democracy or Dictatorship welcome to the "Age Of Obama"?Read the full story here.
- FBI investigates suspicious Jihadi like photos at Rock Hill shop.Via .Heraldonline.ROCK HILL -- The FBI was called to investigate suspicious activity after photographs were developed at a Rock Hill Walgreens of someone holding an AK47 and the Koran.Around 2 p.m. Tuesday, an employee called Rock Hill Police to alert authorities about pictures that a 36-year-old St. Louis man was having developed at the Celanese Road store. The pictures showed the man with the assault weapon and Koran in front of buildings in a couple of different major cities within the United States, according to a Rock Hill police report. There also were photos of Muslim foreign lands.Police asked the man to look at the photos, and he agreed. He told officers the pictures from foreign lands were from a book, although he didn't know the book's name, the report states. The photos of himself and the Koran were at a friend's house in the "country somewhere." He told police he was in Rock Hill visiting friends for a few days.An FBI agent responded to the scene to conduct his own investigation.Walgreens provided CD copies of the photos and surveillance video from the store. An arrest was not made.Hmmmm......Let me guess some Leprechauns and Djinns in disguise rehearsing a Jihad play? - Ankara appeals to French leaders against ‘genocide’ bill.Via .TodaysZaman.Turkey has intensified efforts to block the adoption of a bill pending in the French Senate which proposes that anyone who denies claims that Armenians were subject to genocide at the hands of the Ottoman Empire will be punished. Accordingly, Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Şahin, Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu and head of the parliamentary Turkish-French Parliamentary Friendship Group and former foreign minister Yaşar Yakış, of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party), will send letters to their counterparts in Paris, diplomatic sources told Today’s Zaman on Friday. The letters in process of being drafted will be sent to Paris shortly, sources said.Meanwhile, ruling Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu will also send a letter to the leader of the Socialist Party of France, which has recently decided officially to use his parliamentary rostrum on May 4 -- the day on which members of parliament can submit bills -- to submit the issue of ratification of the law, Today’s Zaman has learned. In the letters, Turkish leaders will warn their counterparts that “adoption of the bill will lead to permanent damage to Turkish-French relations.” The letters will also highlight the inappropriateness of politicians’ making decision on assessments of historical matters, while stating that “the bill is also against freedom of expression.”The bill, the cause of unease in Ankara, returned to the agenda again last month in the run up to the upcoming anniversary of the deaths of Anatolian Armenians during World War I, which is marked on April 24 as “Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day.”The French Parliament recognized the so-called Armenian genocide in 2001, which resulted in short-lived tension between France and Turkey. In 2006 the French National Assembly adopted a bill proposing a punishment for anyone who denies the Armenian genocide. However, it must be passed by the Senate in order to be enforced. As a result of efforts by a group of Socialists, the bill will be debated at the Senate’s plenary session on May 4.Earlier this week, in remarks that sound surprisingly close to Turkey’s position, the French Foreign Ministry announced that the French government and President Nicolas Sarkozy are against the Senate taking up the bill. Responding to a formal question from a ruling Union for a Popular Movement (UMP) party deputy, the Foreign Ministry said a new legal measure was unnecessary given that France already recognized the “Armenian genocide” in 2001 and that French laws already ban action that stir ethnic violence, ethnic hatred and discrimination, private TV station NTV reported on Wednesday. The UMP deputy was inquiring as to why the bill still has not been taken up by the Senate, although it was passed by the National Assembly, the lower house of the French parliament, years ago.Hmmmm.....Erdogan "Muslims don't commit Genocide"Read the full story here.
- President Obama Issues “Signing Statement” Indicating He Won’t Abide by Provision in Budget Bill.In a statement issued Friday night, President Obama took issue with some provisions in the budget bill – and in one case simply says he will not abide by it.Last week the White House and congressional Democrats and Republicans were involved in intense negotiations over not only the size of the budget for the remainder of the FY2011 budget, and spending cuts within that budget, but also several GOP “riders,” or policy provisions attached to the bill. One rider – Section 2262 -- de-funds certain White House adviser positions – or “czars.” The president in his signing statement declares that he will not abide by it.Hmmmm......A shadow government not controlled by the Congres a new tyrant is leading America. The Congress is the only body which may appropriate funds and if they say there are no funds for czars then there are no funds for czars. If Obama does not abide by this then we have a Constitutional crisis and he has committed an impeachable offense."Read the full story here.

- HT:DailyMail.Kim Kardashian's anger as Turkish Cosmo puts her on the cover as Armenia marks Genocide Remembrance Day.Kim Kardashian has always been vocal about how proud she is of her Armenian heritage. Now the 30-year-old socialite has expressed her anger after her image appeared on the front cover of Turkish Cosmopolitan in time for her homeland's annual Genocide Remembrance Day.The day marks the systematic extermination of the Armenian population by Turkey during and following World War I, and Kim has spoken out about the horror in the past. The photograph appeared on the cover after Kim took part in an international photo shoot that went to various magazines published by Cosmopolitan. She wears a burgundy strapless mini-dress and smiles as she poses for the camera.Today Kim took to her blog to comment about the cover. She said she had no idea that the image would be used as the cover shot.'I just found out today that I am on the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine in Turkey this month,' she wrote. 'Cosmopolitan Magazine has a number of international editions all around the world that run in various territories, and when I did this shoot for the international covers I had no idea that Turkey was planning to run my story on their cover THIS month, considering Genocide Remembrance Day is this month.'My Armenian heritage means a lot to me and I’ve been brought up to be incredibly proud of my family’s background and culture so as an Armenian-American woman it is a huge honour for me to be on the first ever Armenian Cosmopolitan cover.'The same image was used for the cover of the very first Armenian edition of Cosmopolitan back in March.Sources told website TMZ that Cosmopolitan neglected to tell Kim's representation that the Turkish publication would be using the picture, and that there was no way Kim would have ever allowed it. To make matters worse, the edition coincides with April 24, the date in which Armenians commemorate the genocide.A source told E! News that Kim is upset but realises that it was just a slip up.Although only half-Armenian, Kim has said in the past that she was raised with a huge Armenian influence, 'always hearing Armenian stories, eating Armenian food and celebrating Armenian holidays. The Armenian Genocide is also known as the Armenian Holocaust, and by Armenians, as the Great Crime. It refers to the obliteration of the Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire during and just after World War I.Hmmmm......Erdogan "Muslims don't commit genocide".Read the full story here.
- 'I didn't know what they were doing to me': Boy, 8, on trip to Disneyland given full body search by TSA agents.Via .Dailymail.Pictures have emerged of an 8-year-old boy on a family trip to Disneyland being full body searched by TSA agents at airport security.Spencer Sheahan was pulled aside and searched by a burly TSA agent at Portland International airport as the family made their way to Disneyland last week.Appalled at the treatment, Heather took out her camera and photographed the invasive search of her little boy.Speaking to NWCN News, Heather Sheahan said her family were moving through airport security when her son set off an unusual sounding alarm. She said: 'It didn't buzz like a normal buzz. It beeped like a beep you normally don't hear.'They went up his leg, into that area, down the next leg, up here (chest), felt all over.'I'm all for any adult doing it. But for a child ... I don't think it's right.'Spencer added: 'I was confused. I did not know what they were going to do to me.'The incident comes just days after a video showing a 6-year-old girl being searched in New Orleans airport caused outrage after it was posted on-line.
Selena and Todd Drexel, from Kentucky, said they want the TSA to change how it screens children after their daughter Anna was subject to an invasive body search. The disturbing footage shot by the Drexel family showed little Anna being called forward for a full pat down and finger search by a burly TSA security agent.Just before the search begins Mrs Drexel asks 'can't you just re-scan her', before being told 'no' by the TSA guard as the small child is called forward for the search. The gloved guard feels the child all over, poking her fingers down the child's trousers before running her hands around the waist band.As the female guard touches the child's bottom she says: ' I am touching your sensitive area with the back of my hand. She also runs her hands over the child's legs, arms, chest and groin areas. The couple, who also have a nine-year-old daughter, Grace and a two-year-old daughter Caroline, said everyone bar Caroline had to go through the airport scanner, but it was little Anna who was selected for a pat down. The search is just one of several invasive incidents that have enraged air travellers in recent years.Last year it emerged the TSA were being sued for an incident at the Corpus Christi airport when a woman's breasts were exposed. An unnamed 23-year-old college student was allegedly singled out for 'extended search procedures' before flying in 2008.'As the TSA agent was frisking plaintiff, the agent pulled the plaintiff's blouse completely down, exposing plaintiffs' breasts to everyone in the area,' the Amarillo Globe-News quotes the lawsuit as saying.Last November the video of a 3-year-old girl being frisked at a Tennessee airport caused national outrage.Hmmmmm.........Don't you love "Obama land"previously known as the 'Land of the free'?Read the full story here.Read the full story here.
- Justice Served in an American-Islamic Honor Killing.Via:Aina.Arizona Judge Roland Steinle has just sentenced Faleh Almaleki to 34½ years in prison. According to live reporting from the courtroom, the judge noted that Almaleki showed no remorse after the murder, that he did not forgive his daughter, that he did what suited his own purpose. The judge also said this was the hardest case he had to face in his six years on the bench. He found no mitigating factors and sentenced Almaleki to 34 and 1/2 years: 15 years for the aggravated assault of Khalaf, 3 and 1/2 years for leaving the scene of an accident, and 16 years for the second-degree murder of his daughter. He was facing a maximum total of 46 years. Thus, today we have witnessed Iraqi-American Faleh Almaleki being sentenced in Phoenix, Arizona for having honor murdered his 20-year-old daughter Noor and for having attempted to murder Amal Khalaf, the woman who was trying to protect her. In October of 2009, he followed the daughter, whom he had tormented all her life, to a shopping mall, lurked outside, then boldly ran over her precious, lovely body with a two-ton Cherokee jeep. He also tried to run Amal Khalaf down and managed to injure her seriously. Then he fled. Faleh flew to England via Mexico, but was arrested at Heathrow Airport and sent back for trial. He made his escape with the help of his wife, Seham, Noor's mother, and his son, Ali. Seham made sure Faleh had his diabetes medicine with him; perhaps she packed a little bag for him too. Seham was no kinder to Noor than her father was. Seham cursed Noor on a regular basis and made life at home so impossible that Noor left. She moved in with the sympathetic Amal, whose son, Marwan, Noor may have begun to date. Seham soon cursed the woman who dared give Noor shelter. What exactly was Noor's crime? She had refused to remain in an arranged marriage in Iraq. She wanted to live in America, not Iraq. Noor also insisted on dressing like a modern, American girl--worse, she dared to choose her own boyfriend, another Iraqi-American. In her family's eyes, she was a "whore," a "disobedient" daughter who deserved to die. Their honor depended on her death.Faleh Almaleki was convicted of second-degree murder, aggravated assault, and two counts of fleeing the scene of a serious-injury accident. He claimed that it was all "accidental," that he only meant to drive past his daughter and spit at her. He claimed that he lost control of the car.I cannot imagine what it might be like growing up in a family and in a culture where you know, in advance, that your own parents, brothers, sisters, first cousins, and uncles might be the ones who will one day kill you. I would think that "trust" and "intimacy" would be difficult and that paranoia, based on reality, would run rampant.I do not believe that most Americans understand how profoundly different a shame and honor culture is from our own. I do know that the media has consistently misled American readers about what an honor killing is and who commits most honor killings in America, Canada, and Europe. Based on my 2010 study, it is clear that 91% of all honor killings in the West are committed by Muslims. Yes, Hindus and Sikhs commit the rest, but otherwise, they confine their honor killings to India and do not export them to the West. It is not relevant whether Islam, Sharia law, pre-Islamic tribal customs, a misunderstanding of either tribal law or Islam are responsible for such murders. What is relevant is that leading Islamic religious and political figures have not abolished such crimes or excommunicated such murderers. In America, a murder is a murder and must be treated as such. There are no "cultural" justifications or multi-cultural justifications that belong in an American court of law.Immigration, cultural identity, and religious freedom are complex and emotionally charged issues. Immigrants need to bring something of "home" along with them; food, language, religious practices have, in the past, been assimilation-friendly. Many Muslim immigrants are sophisticated and Western-oriented; some are even staunchly secular and/or anti-Islamist. However, the kinds of Muslims (or Sikhs and Hindus) who commit honor murders on our soil are not. They are importing barbarism and criminal misogyny. The remedies will be costly and take a great deal of time and will include a combination of careful screening procedures, combined with citizenship, police, judicial, and social work education.I don't think this will solve the problem. I am not sure what will, other than closing our doors to Muslim immigration which is something that I cannot in good conscience recommend. Many Muslims and other immigrants from Third World countries are in flight from at-home tyranny; many Muslim girls and women are in flight from being honor murdered or genitally mutilated in their home countries. Do we really want to close our doors to them?Hmmmm......"In America, a murder is a murder and must be treated as such. There are no "cultural" justifications or multi-cultural justifications that belong in an American court of law."Amen.Read the full story here.
- Russian Muslim leader calls for crescent as part of national emblem.Via.RaiNovosti.Russia's Chief Mufti wants crescent as as part of nation emblem.A Muslim crescent should be part of Russia's national emblem along with Orthodox crosses, Chief Mufti of Russia Talgat Tadzhuddin said on Friday in an interview with Moskovskiye Novosti daily.Tadzhuddin, the head of the Central Muslim Spiritual Directorate in the southwest Russian republic of Bashkiria and the Chief Mufti of Russia proposed adding the Muslim crescent above one of the crowns that decorate Russia's symbol, the double-headed eagle. In February, Tadzhuddin shared his idea with President Dmitry Medvedev. The president "listened attentively," the imam said.Since about 18% of Russia's population (20 million people) is Muslim, the national emblem should equally symbolize all the religious minorities living in the country, Tadzhuddin said."Our ancestry has lived here for ages. We have united into one state by Divine will. So our neighbor is like a brother," Moskovskiye Novosti quoted Tadzhuddin as saying. In February, Tadzhuddin suggested establishing a "spirituality tax" to raise money for the construction of new mosques and cathedrals. The tax was to be collected from all residents of Bashkiria, regardless of their faith.Hmmmm........Мне жаль, но я думаю, что это нu korдa бyдet.Read the full story here.

- Britain to ban export to US of three drugs used to carry out lethal injections .Via TodaysZaman.Britain said on Friday it would ban the export to the United States of three drugs used to carry out lethal injections and called on other European Union countries to follow suit. The British government said it was putting additional export controls on the export of pancuronium bromide, potassium chloride and sodium pentobarbital. Last year, the London-based human rights group Reprieve sued the British government to stop it exporting another drug, sodium thiopental, a sedative legally required for US lethal injections, which was in short supply in the United States. That led to Britain, which opposes the death penalty, imposing an emergency export ban on the drug. “We oppose the death penalty in all circumstances and are clear that British drugs should not be used to carry out lethal injections,” Business Secretary Vince Cable said in a statement. “That is why we introduced a control on sodium thiopental last year -- the first of its kind in the world. And it is also why we are now controlling the export of the other drugs used in lethal injections in the US.”Read the full story here.
- "What Shari’ah Law Actually Means"By .MuslimMediaNetwork.Last week in Tennessee, a Republican legislator introduced a bill that would make following Shari’ah — Islamic law — a felony, punishable by up to 15 years in prison. How such a law would be enforced is not clear; furthermore, it’s probably unconstitutional. It is clear, though, that an anti-Shari’ah movement is growing in the United States. Last year Oklahoma voters approved a measure that bars courts from considering Shari’ah. Similar measures have now been introduced or passed in at least 13 other states. Indeed, anti-Muslim political operatives have been warning of “creeping Shari’ah” and “Islamist lawfare” for years, though the anti-Shari’ah efforts have gained new prominence in recent months.
But even basic facts about Shari’ah — what is it? how is it used in American courts? — are hard to come by. So I decided to talk to Abed Awad, a New Jersey-based attorney and an expert on Shari’ah who regularly handles cases that involve Islamic law. He is also a member of the adjunct faculties at Rutgers Law School and Pace Law School. He recently answered my questions via e-mail.
Can you define Shari’ah — is it a specific body of laws?A lot of critics of Shari’ah have cited a case in New Jersey in which a husband cited Shari’ah to argue that he did not rape his wife. What happened in that case?
The case is S.D. v. M.J.R. It’s not about Shari’ah as much as it is about a state court judge who failed to follow New Jersey law. In this case, the plaintiff-wife sought a restraining order against her husband, alleging that his nonconsensual action constituted physical abuse. She testified that her husband told her repeatedly that, according to his religion, she was obligated to submit to his sexual requests.
The trial judge refused to issue the restraining order, finding that the defendant was operating under a religious belief that he was entitled to have marital relations with his wife whenever he wanted. Thus, he did not form the criminal intent to commit domestic violence. But, of course, the appellate court reversed the trial court decision, holding that the defendant’s nonconsensual sexual intercourse with his wife was “unquestionably knowing, regardless of his view that his religion permitted him to act as he did.” The appellate ruling is consistent with Islamic law, which prohibits spousal abuse, including nonconsensual sexual relations. A minority of Muslims mistakenly believe that a husband can discipline his wife with physical force in the interest of saving the marriage and avoiding divorce.Hmmmmmm.........Hellooooooooo!A minority of Muslims mistakenly believe that a husband can discipline his wife with physical force in the interest of saving the marriage and avoiding divorce.
In response to a ruling by Turkey's Supreme Court of Appeals that marital rape is not a crime, İsmet Berkan wrote in his column in Radikal that because of the ruling, if a woman "resists and is killed by her husband in the end, his penalty even could be reduced due to 'grievous provocation!' He continued, "Unfortunately, the court's decision has the effect of turning women into sex slaves in marriages... Forcing someone into sexual intercourse is called 'rape.' In Turkey, which is making efforts to end violence against women, the Court of Appeals decision must have been a really bad coincidence..."Source. - HT:JIDF.(VIDEO) Anti-Semitic abuse 'rife among football (soccer) fans' .Interesting and important initiative which we celebrate.Anti-Semitic abuse is rife among football fans and must be treated as seriously as other forms of racism, a group of top footballers and celebrities has warned. David Baddiel, the comedian, has launched a campaign to stamp out use of the word “yid” in football chants which mock Jewish and Tottenham supporters.High-profile backers have also condemned fans for hissing at Jewish spectators, to imitate the sound of gas chambers used in the Holocaust. But many Tottenham supporters have said they use the term "yid army" themselves as a "badge of honour" and are not offended by it.The words “yid” or “yiddo”, meaning Jew, have been used for decades to identify Tottenham supporters, because of the proportion of Jewish supporters at the club. The campaign, supported by England midfielder Frank Lampard and Tottenham defender Ledley King, warns that while racism has become unacceptable in the stands, anti-Semitism remains dangerously commonplace.Baddiel, whose Jewish mother was forced to flee Nazi Germany during the Second World War, has made a film exploring the problem, entitled The Y-Word, which he hopes will spark a shift in attitudes among fans.Baddiel, 46, a Chelsea supporter, said: “Anti-Semitism is the other racism in football, and, because it so lags behind in visibility to racial abuse of black players, it is hardly ever discussed."It's an important issue, not least because, in my experience, there are more Jewish fans at most grounds than black ones - it is virtually impossible to be Jewish and male and not interested in football - and I know that they all dread the starting up of these chants."He added: “The film is not intended to censor football fans. It's simply to raise awareness that the Y-word is, and has been for many, many years, a race hate word.UEFA sent a high-ranking official to monitor Tottenham fans during Wednesday night’s clash with Real Madrid at White Hart Lane, following the Adebayor’s complaint. The campaign, organised through the anti-racism group Kick It Out, has also won the backing of the Football Association and numerous premier league clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea.Read the full story here.
- Pakistan switches on to Islamic radicalism peddled by TV stars.Via :AhmadiyyaTimesWearing shoes with green soles can make you lose a cricket match. So goes the logic of a prominent Pakistani religious scholar, Aamir Liaquat, in comments he made on a leading private TV channel. He was analysing the reasons behind the defeats suffered by Pakistan's cricket team. Apparently this is because green is the colour of Islam - and also the colour of the national flag."These are matters of belief," explained Mr Liaquat. "Those who worship at the altar of reason will never understand them."Over the past few years Pakistan has undergone a media revolution. A decade or so ago there was just one major TV channel, the state run Pakistan Television. It was a mouthpiece for whichever government - civilian or military - was in power. Today the picture has dramatically changed with dozens of private news channels, enjoying more broadcasting freedom than counterparts in the Middle East (or even the West. But while free media has largely been a positive for Pakistan, in terms of exposing corruption and government misconduct, there is also a need for greater responsibility in what is being said on-air.It's worth noting Mr Liaquat is not a small-time scholar with a fringe following. Rather he is one of the most recognised religious figures in the country thanks to his TV shows. He has even served as minister of state for religious affairs under ex-dictator Pervez Musharraf.Mr Liaquat is no stranger to controversy. A few years ago guest scholars on his show described a persecuted religious minority in Pakistan, the Ahmedis, as Wajb-ul-Qatl (liable to death.) He has also openly spoken on TV of his support for the fatwa on Salman Rushdie over his Satanic Verses novel. And he once spoke in favour of Pakistan's notorious blasphemy laws by comparing them to a computer "firewall." The popularity of such a figure on mainstream Pakistani TV, who many also consider to be a "moderate" voice, raises troubling questions regarding the kind of material being allowed to air by the "free" media in Pakistan.Certainly he is not the only one. Perhaps the most polemic is Zaid Hamid, a charismatic TV analyst who fought against the Soviets in Afghanistan. While he is not allowed his own programme, he still gets invited on and off to mainstream talk shows as a guest analyst to talk about political affairs and foreign policy. Often seen with a red beret on his head, Mr Hamid is an ultra-nationalist who believes the Mumbai attacks were conducted by "Hindu Zionists" and has spoken of his desire to see the Pakistani flag flying in Delhi. While he condemns al-Qaeda he also believes - as a lot of others in Pakistan - that the 9/11 attacks were conducted by the US itself. Troublingly even programmes which one assumes should be light-hearted have fallen prey to the conspiracy trap. For example, there is a clip doing the rounds on the internet where a morning show host Farah Hussain, roughly the equivalent to Lorraine Kelly, talks about a "deliberate" conspiracy to malign Islam. To illustrate, she displays a toilet mat with anabstract design on which she claims to make out the name "Allah" in Arabic. "This is definitely not accidental," she tells her viewers. "This is a planned effort."The success of radicals and loonies like Mr Hamid and Mr Liaquat in appealing to youngsters and other vulnerable elements in society can only be understood in the context of the failure of the more liberal elements to stand up for issues of justice and against state corruption. There is a very superficial definition of liberal as someone who wears jeans and watches MTV.Hmmmm......Makes you wonder if these 'zionists'ever rest?Read the full story here.

- HT:Aina.9 Christians Killed, 150 Injured in Attack By 15,000 Muslims and Egyptian Army.According to Father Abram Fahmy, pastor of St. Simon the Tanner Monastery in Mokatam Hills, on the outskirts of Cairo, Copts were killed and injured today in a fresh attack by Muslims. It was reported the Egyptian army fired live ammunition on Copts. The attack has claimed until now the lives of 9 Copts and injured 150, 45 seriously.Muslims threw fire balls at the Monastery from the top of the hills. Coptic youth have arrested five of them, who are now being held within the Monastery grounds, waiting to be handed over to the authorities.Eight homes and 20 garbage recycling factories owned by Copts have been torched, as well as 30 garbage collection vehicles. The incident started when 500 Coptic demonstrators from Manshier Nasr, also known as "Garbage City," which is near the Monastery, were on their way to join the Coptic protest near the Egyptian TV Building, to show their solidarity with the Copts of the village of Soul in Atfif, who were forcibly displaced from their village and their church torched (AINA 3-5-2011). Nearly 15,000 Muslims from the nearby area of Sayeda Aisha and Mokattam, who were armed with weapons including automatic guns, confronted the Copts. The clashes first started with hurling of stones at the Coptic demonstrators, then Molotov Cocktails. According to eyewitnesses the Copts called the army which arrived at the scene at 15:00 with 10 tanks . At first the military stood by watching, then shot in the air, then at the Coptic side with live ammunition."We were at one side and the Muslim on the other, we have hundreds of injured at the Coptic side," said an eyewitness. "The Muslims were also shooting from behind the army tanks."First-aid was given to the injured in the clinic attached to the Monastery, "But there are only 3 doctors here, not enough to look after all the injured," said the Church custodian. According to one of the doctors all injuries were caused by gun shots. The injured were transported by private persons to various hospitals around Cairo, as ambulances refused to respond to their calls. It was reported that Muslims stood at the head of the road and any garbage collecting vehicle belonging to Copts from "Garbage City" was confiscated and the owners beaten.Attorney Wagih Anwar Abou Saad, an eyewitness, told Free Coptic Voice the army has been firing live ammunition on the Copts since 3 PM. "The army is protecting the Muslims, who sought shelter behind the army tanks," he said. There was a media blackout on the incident. There are no reports of any Muslim casualties.Hmmmm.....No word from the defender of the oppressed the selfconfessed "Christian" Barack HUSSEIN Obama?Read the full story here. More here .

- HT:BigPeace. The Muslim Brotherhood in America: Deputy National Security Advisor McDonough Meets with Hamas Support Entity. It is being reported that on Sunday, March 6th, Denis McDonough, the Deputy National Security Advisor to the President of the United States attended the ADAMS Interfaith/Government Summit in Sterling, Virginia. The implications of this are frightening and shocking – and may be criminal.ADAMS (All Dulles Area Muslim Society) is led by its Executive Director, Mohammad Majid. Majid is also the President of the largest Muslim Brotherhood / Hamas support entity in North America – the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).A significant amount of evidence has been entered into federal terrorism trials revealing ISNA is not only the largest Muslim Brotherhood entity in North America, but is a cover and support organization for Hamas (Islamic Resistance Movement). Hamas is designated as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization” (FTO) by the United States Government.Judge Solis did not remove ISNA from the list of unindicted co-conspirators.Whether ISNA is or is not an “unindicted co-conspirator” in the HLF case is actually not as germane as is the massive amount of evidence clearly indicating: (1) ISNA is the leading Muslim Brotherhood entity in the U.S. which seeks to overthrow our Constitutional government; (2) ISNA is a Hamas support entity; (3) no evidence exists, except the “word” of the leaders of ISNA, that ISNA has ceased doing what it was created to do.The remarks made by Deputy National Security Advisor McDonough on 3/6/11 at the ADAMS Center are on the White House website for all to read. His comments began with: “Thank you (Imam Majid), also, for being one of our nation’s leading voices for the values that make America so strong, especially religious freedom and tolerance. Whether it’s here at the ADAMS Center, or as President of the Islamic Society of North America, you’ve spoken with passion and eloquence, not only about your own Islamic faith, but for the need to build bridges of understanding and trust between faiths.”So, Mr. McDonough knows Mohammad Majid is the leader of ISNA.His remarks further included: “Over the past two years, I—along with my White House colleagues—have benefited from the advice of many of your organizations through our Office of Public Engagement. Because, after all, your communities have the same concerns as all Americans—the economy, education, health care, the safety of our children and our country.”Actually Mr. McDonough, the Muslim Brotherhood is only concerned with its objectives, which are the same as Al Qaeda’s – the re-establishment of the global Islamic State (Caliphate), under which Shariah (Islamic Law) is enforced. The HLF related rulings and all the evidence are available to the public via the Northern District of Texas’ own website, so the information is readily accessible.Again, we must ask the same tired question – why are those charged with our national security, violating their Constitutional oaths to do so and taking actions which appear to support our enemies?Hmmmm.....When will Congress start the impeachment procedure?Read the full story here.
- King Claims Common Ground With White House on Islam Hearings, Blames CAIR for Backlash. The nation's largest Muslim advocacy group and other organizations are stoking opposition to a hearing planned later this week in Washington which will delve into the threat posed by Islamic radicalization. But Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee hosting the hearing, said Monday that he's on the same page as the White House when it comes to addressing that threat and engaging moderates in the American Muslim community. "I'm not going to give into political correctness. I'm going ahead," King told Fox News. Ahead of Thursday's hearing, hundreds of protesters gathered Sunday in Times Square to accuse King of unfairly targeting Muslims. The event featured celebrities like hip hop mogul Russell Simmons and was backed by a slew of religious organizations and leaders.King, though, pinned blame for the backlash on the Council on American Islamic Relations. Noting CAIR's history as an "unindicted co-conspirator" in a terrorist funding case, King said CAIR is exactly the kind of group Muslim leaders should "push aside." An August 2010 background report showed 21 U.S. citizens were charged in such cases in 2009 and another 20 were charged in 2010 between January and August. The hearing has generated much debate and publicity. The congressman on Sunday squared off against Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., the first Muslim elected to the House, on CNN's "State of the Union." Ellison said that while it's proper to investigate radicalization, he thinks it is wrong to single out a religious minority. - Flashback - November 2010 - New York City's Yellow Cab Passengers to Help Choose `Taxi of Tomorrow'.New York’s “Taxi of Tomorrow” may be chosen with input from among the 600,000 riders who use yellow cabs daily in the most-populous U.S. city, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said. Ford Motor Co., Nissan Motor Co. and Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi Ticaret AS of Turkey were named as finalists in a competition to design a new model for the city’s 13,237 taxi cabs. The mayor said he would ask each automaker to give the city its best offer within a month, after which a decision will be made whether to designate one as the sole supplier for the fleet. “We’re asking for input from our most important stakeholders, and that’s the residents of New York City,” Bloomberg said at a City Hall news conference where he announced the creation of a survey page on the city’s www.nyc.gov website. Those who fill out the form have a chance to enter a drawing to win one year of free taxi rides worth as much as $5,000, the mayor said. The survey asks passengers to rate the importance of several factors, including fuel economy, interior room, accessibility and amenities such as electric outlets to recharge cell phones. - King Blasts MSM for Criticizing Radical Muslim Hearings, “What Are They Afraid of? What Are They Hiding?”The House Homeland Security Committee chairman blasted the mainstream media on Tuesday, calling outlets “irresponsible” for criticizing the panel’s planned hearing on radicalization in the U.S. Muslim community. Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) has been taking an enormous amount of political heat for the hearing scheduled for Thursday. But despite objections from the committee’s ranking Democrat, Rep. Bennie Thompson (Miss.), and several other lawmakers, King intends to forge ahead, as planned, with the proceeding. In a Tuesday editorial, The New York Times said King’s hearing was “designed to stoke fear against American Muslims [and] his refusal to tone down the provocation despite widespread opposition suggests that he is far more interested in exploiting ethnic misunderstanding than in trying to heal it.”King immediately shot back, saying he didn’t want to feel guilty for not holding the hearings in the event another attack, like that of Sept. 11, 2001, took place.“What are they afraid of? What are they hiding from? Why are they attacking me in such a rabid way?” King told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “I can take the hits, that doesn’t bother me at all.“I don’t ever want it on my conscience that if another attack comes, I wake up the next morning and say, ‘I backed down to political correctness, I backed down toThe Washington Post, or the left-wing New York Times, because I was afraid of political retribution.’ I’m going to do what I have to do, and I’m going to do it.”Hmmm......"Remember the Alamo"!Good Luck Congressman ...next the Obama administration?Read the full story here.
- Republicans divided over Muslim hearings. The top two House Republican leaders are divided over how to handle the bubbling controversy surrounding Homeland Security Chairman Peter King’s hearing into “radicalization” in the American Muslim community.Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.), the highest-ranking Jewish member of Congress, is squarely behind King as he takes shots from civil libertarians and religious groups over his decision to target one group in his investigation of the causes of terrorism.“Chairman King works tirelessly to ensure that our homeland is secure, and following the tragic murders of U.S. soldiers in Germany by a radical Islamist, the Fort Hood murders committed by a radical Al Qaeda sympathizer and the recent arrest in Texas of a Saudi student planning jihad, this is certainly a relevant topic for committee consideration,” Cantor spokeswoman Laena Fallon said. But Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) are keeping their distance from King, perhaps trying to avoid letting this issue become a distraction for the GOP majority.“Chairman King is chairman of the Homeland Security Committee” is all Boehner spokesman Michael Steel would say when asked about the controversy. McCarthy’s office declined to comment.Hmmm.....They say being silent is approving.Read the full story here.
- Turkey - Poll: US, Israel Turkey's main enemies.A total of 2,000 Turkish people took part in the opinion poll conducted by Ankara-based MetroPOLL Strategic and Social Research Center. The results were published on February 28, 2011, the IRIB's Research Center reported. Forty-two percent of the respondents saw the United States as Turkey's number one enemy, and 23 percent of them singled out Israel as the main enemy of the Eurasian nation. Six percent of those polled said Greece was their country's main enemy. Four percent singled out Iraq's Kurdistan, and a tiny three percent picked Armenia. Eight percent of the respondents chose other countries as Turkey's number one enemy, while 14 percent had no opinion about their country's worst enemy. Turkey's differences with Greece are mainly over the ownership of a few islands in the Mediterranean Sea as well as the issue of Cyprus. Both countries are members of NATO alliance. The Turkish people also regard Iraq's Kurdistan as a threat because it can set a precedent for Turkish Kurds, the research center said. - Pro-Palestinian groups to send flotilla to Gaza in May.Free Gaza movement organizers request governments of participating nationals to protect participants in flotilla which will include 15 ships.Pro-Palestinian movements in Europe, including the Free Gaza movement, have planned to send another flotilla to Gaza in mid-May. Organizers have said that the flotilla will include 15 ships from a number of different countries, and thousands are expected to participate. At their meeting Amsterdam, the Free Gaza movement urged the governments of participating nationals to take the necessary steps to protect those nationals who will participate, the Kuwait News Agency reported. The flotilla will reportedly be called "Freedom Fleet 2."Last year, a flotilla from Turkey roused controversy when nine passengers were killed as IDF soldiers intercepted one of the ships, the Mavi Marmara. - Israel to ask U.S. for $20billion extra in military aid because of Middle East turmoil.Israel are expected to ask for an additional $20billion in U.S. military aid in order to help the country deal with potential threats arising from the ongoing uprisings in the Middle East.In an interview with the Wall Street Journal defence minister Ehud Barak was reported as saying his country are considering making the request while the Arab world survey the wreckage of the 'historic earthquake'.Barak said Israel was worried that its top foes, Iran and Syria 'might be the last to feel the heat' of the revolts and that Egypt's new leaders might, under public pressure, back away from its 1979 peace treaty with Israel.'The issue of qualitative military aid for Israel becomes more essential for us, and I believe also more essential for you,' the U.S. newspaper quoted Barak as saying. He continued: 'A strong, responsible Israel can become a stabiliser in such a turbulent region.'Without making a 'daring' peace offer, however, Israel cannot seek additional aid, Barak was quoted as saying.Israel already receives $3billion in military aid a year from the U.S., but any increase in aid could hinge on the country's relationship with enemies Palestine. It is perhaps little surprise, then, that Barak also said that Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is likely to offer Palestinians a state within temporary borders, detailing for the first time an emerging Israeli plan for breaking the deadlocked peace negotiations. The prime minister is said to be planning a speech - possibly to be delivered in Washington - in which he will outline his plans. It is not clear that the U.S. would support the idea of an interim accord, given the Palestinians' categorical rejection of the notion.'If and when Israel offers its own thoughts on how to move the process forward, we will be listening attentively,' White House spokesman P.J. Crowley told reporters in Washington yesterday. 'We do not know what the prime minister and his government are thinking at the present time.'Hmmmmm......"Remember Massada".Read the full story here.
- Welfare nation: Government handouts make up ONE THIRD of America's salaries and wages.Government handouts now make up a record-breaking one third of the total amount of wages and salaries in the U.S., according to a bombshell new study. The payouts – including Social Security, Medicare and unemployment insurance – are placing an increasing burden on the state at a time it is trying to dig itself out from a mountain of debt. And economists fear the toll on taxpayers will only increase further if quick action isn’t taken before the majority of baby boomers reach retirement age.Social benefits make up 35 per cent of wages and salaries this year, up from 21 per cent in 2000 and 10 per cent in 1960, according to TrimTabs Investment Research, based on data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis.‘The U.S. economy has become alarmingly dependent on government stimulus,’ said Madeline Schnapp, director of Macroeconomic Research at TrimTabs, in a note to clients, according to CNBC.‘Consumption supported by wages and salaries is a much stronger foundation for economic growth than consumption based on social welfare benefits,’ she added. She claimed that to get welfare back to its pre-recession rate of 26 per cent of pay, ‘either wages and salaries would have to increase $2.3 trillion, or 35 per cent, to $8.8 trillion, or social welfare benefits would have to decline $500 billion, or 23 per cent, to $1.7 trillion.’The ageing baby boomer generation means that welfare benefits have increased by $514 billion over the past two years, according to the TrimTabs study. The recession also takes some of the blame for the change because governments traditionally spend more during financial crisis to help prop up the rest of the economy. But economists can take heart from the fact that the welfare levels in other countries are even higher. In the UK, social welfare benefits make up 44 per cent of wages and salaries.Hmmmm......"Change" you can see?Read the full story here.
- Egyptian Islamist wishes to ‘see Israel wiped off map’. Egypt: Senior Muslim Brotherhood Official “Prays Every Night Israel Is Wiped off the Map”.A prominent member of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood this week became the first member of the Islamist group to visit Iran, where he praised Tehran’s leadership and denounced Israel. The New York Post reported that Kamal El Helbawy — a London-based Islamic scholar and Brotherhood representative widely known as the movement’s face in the West — told his hosts he wished to see Egypt become, like Iran, “a true Islamic state.”“Egypt and the world of Islam as a whole need leaders like President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad,” he said, and “should join a new world order with Iran and Venezuela, plus Hezbollah and Hamas to chase away the Americans.“Every night when I go to bed, I pray to wake up the next day to see Israel is wiped off the map,” the Brotherhood leader reportedly said.Last month, during protests to oust Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Helbawy told Iran’sAl-Alam television network, “The only foreign intervention in this revolution is that of Israel. They destroyed the gas pipeline, so that the revolutionaries would be accused of using explosives. No one would accept a destructive Iranian role in Egypt, or elsewhere. - HT:BigPeace. Why Is Obama Arming the World?Jeff Abramson, deputy director of the Arms Control Association, recently told Fortune Magazine: “There’s an Obama arms bazaar going on.” And it’s no exaggeration. Obama has personally pushed for large weapons sales such as the $4 billion aircraft deal with Saudi Arabia. And the administration is also rewriting the rules that govern arms exports, which will in effect reduce oversight of weapons sales. In the middle of its extensive story on the defense industry Fortune magazine has a stunning statistic.“Thanks to a surge in overseas demand, the F-15 and other aging U.S. weapons systems are hotter than they’ve been in years. The Department of Defense last year told Congress of plans to sell up to $103 billion in weapons to overseas buyers, a staggering rise from an average of $13 billion a year between 1995 and 2005, according to Deutsche Bank analyst Myles Walton. Signed agreements have tripled since 2000.” And they called Bush a militarist!Nearly 50% of our arms sales go to the Middle East, a region now awash with violence and instability. So why is Obama, who doesn’t seem to embrace the notion that a powerful military is a good thing, selling so many arms around the world? For someone who critiqued the Bush Administration for relying too much on military capabilities and not enough on diplomacy, it is extremely ironic that Obama is leading the charge in the massive expansion of arms sales. Why? It’s hard to not escape the conclusion that this is more about helping the economy than anything else. And that’s a cynical and dangerous approach to arms sales. Ultimately they should be about protecting us and our allies. Once you use it as an employment program, problems emerge. The temptation to make risky sales becomes great–all in the name of job creation. Perhaps this is another imitation of the French–who for years have been willing to sell weapons to just about anyone in the name of “commerce.”Hmmmm....."I will stand with my Muslim Brothers"?Read the full story here.

And of course our engineers in the nuclear area were shining examples as they were faced with international powers which had colluded against us in preventing this project from going forward, but they did not succeed.”Naghdi admitted that the Basij militia was in fact instrumental in supporting Palestinians and the Hezbollah during the 22 day and 33 day wars and this has also sparked awareness among people around the world. He said: “Today Zionism is surrounded and it’s days are numbered. If we stay the course and carry out all plans as designed, the awareness that we have inspired will be the basis for the downfall of the overlords.’Hmmmm.....Obama "Yes , yes i will be able to sell my electric car!WAKE UP you need energy to charge your electric 'dream'.You're already short of hydro now.Read the full story here.
- White House in Panic, Obama Not Getting Graduation Commencement Requests. The White House is ramping up an effort to promote a nationwide competition to decide which high school wins a commencement speech by President Obama. An internal White House memo indicates that the White House is facing a shortage of applications less than a week before the deadline. The competition was extended from the February 25 deadline until Friday, March 11 after few schools met the original application deadline. CBS News has learned a White House Communications Office internal memo dated February 22 noted "a major issue with the Commencement Challenge." "As of yesterday we had received 14 applications and the deadline is Friday," the memo said. The memo also urged recipients to, "please keep the application number close hold."A follow-up memo on February 28 reported receipt of 68 applications. Noting the competition among more than 1,000 schools last year, the memo said, "Something isn't working." It called on staffers to ask "friendly congressional, gubernatorial and mayoral offices" to encourage schools to apply. "We should also make sure the Cabinet is pushing the competition out to their lists," the memo said. The note reiterated, "We do not want the actual application number out there (we didn't release the number of applications we received last year until after the submission period)-so folks should not use it in their pitches."On Monday, officials declined to cite the number of applications received so far.The president will travel to the school that is judged to best prepare students for college and careers. The competition is part of Mr. Obama's ultimate goal of making the U.S. the country with the highest proportion of college graduates by 2020.Responding to questions about the CBS News story on Tuesday, White House spokesman Jay Carney reported the White House has received "a large number" of applications and we look forward to a process that will produce a winner and a commencement speech from the president."But Carney said he did not know how many schools have applied for the honor. - Obama Admin Requests Leniency For al-Qaeda Terrorist Who Still Backs Killing of Americans. The U.S. government formally requested the early release of a convicted terrorist from federal prison, even though the terrorist admitted that he continued to support the killing of U.S. soldiers serving in Muslim countries.Mohammed Babar, born and raised in New York City, was arrested in 2004 and pled guilty to four counts of providing material support to al Qaeda and one count of providing funds to Al Qaeda. After Babar had served four years and eight months, he was released on bail in late 2008.In late 2010, the government filed a sealed request for leniency for Babar because of his “extraordinary cooperation” in terror investigations, asking for an “appropriate reduction” in his sentence even though federal sentencing guidelines indicate a sentence of 30 to 70 years in prison. The letter, now unsealed, notes that he was critical in securing conviction in four cases in three countries. After the request, a judge sentenced Babar to 10 years of supervised release and a court fee of $500.“According to Babar,” says the request for leniency, dated Nov. 23, 2010, “he still supports today the killing of American military service members on battlefields in Muslim countries. - HT:BigGovernment.FCC Stalls on Details of its Net Neutrality Power Grab.We have discussed quite a bit the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)’s December 21 unauthorized, unilateral Internet power grab – instigated and rammed through by its Chairman Julius Genachowski so as to impose the ridiculous notion that is Network Neutrality.By last year (and actually much earlier), no one save these Media Marxists wanted Net Neutrality. 302 members of an overwhelmingly Democrat Congress told the FCC to leave it alone. The D.C. Circuit Court in April unanimously told the FCC to leave it alone.95 Congressional candidates signed a pro-Net Neutrality pledge – and all 95 lost in November. That’s a whole lot of nothing going on for Net Neutrality. As we said, it was and remains the kid sitting by himself in the high school cafeteria. So what did Chairman Genachowski do in the face of all of this omnidirectional opposition? He went ahead and power grabbed the Internet and imposed Net Neutrality anyway. And he rushed to do so after an election in which the American people adamantly expressed their Less Government mindset – and before the Less Government-minded officials the American people elected could be sworn in.Again, allegedly in the name of this six-plus-year slow-crawl towards Imminent Danger! So by stalling, the Chairman is callously venue shopping – and ducking a court in which he knows he will most likely lose.Venue shopping is in fact rapidly becoming a fixture of this FCC for all sorts of Bigger Government moves – by them and the Media Marxists who’s bidding their doing. It is now the second week of March – and the Chairman still has not filed his order. We were told that Net Neutrality is so important to truth, justice and the American Way that the Chairman HAD to ram through the Christmas vote rather than waiting for Congress to write the legislation he himself acknowledges the FCC needs to act.Yet here we are two months into the new Congress – plenty of time for them to have written legislation for the Net Neutrality we are told we so desperately need – and the Chairman still has not yet delivered us his order.Sadly, this is par for the now all-too-familiar Genachowski course of action.Hmmmmm.....How dictatorship creeps up on you?Read the full story here.More here.
- HT:BigGovernment.New York, Connecticut, and the Plan to Take Away Your Guns. When Thomas Jefferson warned his peers (and his posterity) about the threat of expansive governments, he said, “A government big enough to give you everything you want is a government big enough to take from you everything you have.” In other words, the habit of looking to a government to meet our wants can be very costly because governments big enough to satisfy those wants are too large to control. In the end, all the goodies such a government provides come at a price too high: the price of freedom. And although Jefferson issued this warning two centuries ago, many citizens in blue states like Connecticut and New York may think them strangely contemporary. And the reason they might think this is because politicians in those two states are openly pushing legislation that will control, if not take away all together, said citizens’ ability to exercise their God-given, 2nd Amendment rights. For example, in New York, S.B. 2994 is currently making the rounds in that state’s senate. Not only will this legislation require gun owners to register every gun they own with the state, it will also charge them an annual per-gun fee for every gun they own. Moreover, gun owners will even have to tell the government where they store their guns when not in use.Now think about this: the justification given for S.B. 2994 is that it will enable New York officials to “come a step closer to identifying…illegal firearms.”Hmmm…. I wonder how many owners of illegal firearms will be complying with S.B. 2994 should it pass? I’d say there’s a better chance that owners of legal firearms will get a knock on their door at some future date, when the government that knows how many guns you own and where you keep them decides it’s time to get those firearms off the streets too.In Connecticut’s legislature, Bill No. 1094 – “AN ACT BANNING LARGE CAPACITY AMMUNITION MAGAZINES” – has been proposed. If enacted, this bill would not only ban the sell of magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition, but would also make it a felony for a gun owner to have one. (That’s right – a felony.)And what about people who already own such magazines? According to the legislation, such people would have 90 days from the day the bill becomes law to turn in all magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Therefore, every magazine in the state that holds 11 or more rounds would be confiscated, and after 90 days if a gun owner is caught with a magazine he or she didn’t turn in they become a felon (and as a felon they can never legally own or a possess a firearm again). Is this a great backdoor scheme for ending private gun onwership or what?Hmmmm.....Dictatorship coming soon to a neighbourhood near you?Could be inforced with these neat little hummingbird drones once they passed legislation for them?Quote"The company, based in California with 732 full-time employees, expects to sell even more drones to the Government once rules are relaxed to allow spying within America.Read the full story here.

Wolff, who lived in the U.S. as a child, now lives with her family in Vienna, Austria but returns regularly to the U.S. for visits. Although acquitted of “incitement to hatred,” Wolff was convicted in February 2011 of the lesser charge of “denigration of the teachings of a legally recognized religion” and assessed a fine. She is appealing. In addition to querying Wolff about her speech and the conference, the ICE officers wanted to know why she was traveling alone, where her husband was, how she earned a living, and most inappropriate of all, whether she were a “practicing Christian.” A Dutch colleague of Wolff’s, also to speak at the conference, was similarly subjected to lengthy and hostile questioning by ICE officials, both in Amsterdam and at JFK Airport upon arrival in the U.S. After looking at the text of his speech, one of the ICE officials in Amsterdam flatly told the Dutch citizen that his activism against shariah Islam “is discrimination.”Both Wolff and her colleague ultimately were released and permitted to continue their travel in the U.S., but were sent off with the explicit warning to Wolff that she should “tone down the rhetoric.”While ICE and other Department of Homeland Security (DHS) officials have the legal duty to scrutinize would-be visitors to the U.S. at points of entry, what appears to be gratuitous harassment on grounds apparently related to issues of free speech is inappropriate. Wolff was convicted in Austria under laws that are incompatible with the right to free speech enshrined in the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment. No American could ever be convicted in the U.S. for “denigration of the teachings of a legally recognized religion.” Belief systems, Ideology, and religious teachings are not off-limits from criticism in this country. Not yet anyway. The United States is the last true bastion of protected free speech in the world. We cannot allow the precious freedoms we hold dear to be eroded under the assault of an alien legal system that would replace them with a totalitarian world order. There’s no doubt about it. These guys might be out until June. Unfortunately, what they’re trying to do is flip the majority, and I think that’s becoming very evident.”The President's message to the American people is simple: I don't care about balancing the federal budget. - Saudi Arabia - Saudi Arabia inches closer to ban on child marriages. Child marriages are commonplace in Saudi Arabia, an ultra-conservative kingdom where no law regulates the minimum age of marriage. But that may change soon, as local human rights organizations prepare the ground for new legislation protecting minors, especially women, from the perils of child marriage. The Saudi Human Rights Commission (HRC), a Riyadh-based government-controlled watchdog, is preparing three studies outlining the damages of child marriages from a religious and social point of view. Legislation of a minimum marriage age is set to follow the studies' completion. In Saudi Arabia, young girls are often married off by their parents to much older men. According to a local social worker interviewed by Saudi daily Al-Riyadh, some 3,000 Saudi girls below the age of 13 were married off to men at least 25 years their senior. But Fawzia Al-Bakr, a sociologist at King Saud University in Riyadh, said this was likely to change soon."I'm sure a new law will pass very soon," Al-Bakr told The Media Line. "There are many discussions about the matter in Saudi Arabia, with more and more people understanding the damage child marriages cause society." Official data published in Saudi Arabia support Al-Bakr's claim. According to a recent poll conducted by the Saudi National Society for Human Rights (NSHR), two thirds of Saudis oppose girls under the age of 18 being married. NSHR called on the Justice Ministry to set 18 as the minimum age for matrimony. But the transition from words to actions is slow in the kingdom. In April 2009, Justice Minister Muhammad Al-Eissa announced that his ministry would regulate child marriages, but nothing has happened since. Eman Al-Nafjan, a Riyadh-based blogger and social activist, said she was skeptical about the prospects of a new law. "The Justice Ministry won’t act on its own," Al-Nafjan told The Media Line. "Legislation must come from the king himself. But based on previous discussions, this is not likely to happen."Al-Nafjan said studies emphasizing the damages of child marriage have been published in the past, but to no avail. One statistical study was even commissioned by the Ministry of Social Affairs and presented to the Shura Council, Saudi Arabia's legislative body, but had no effect. For the first time in Saudi history, the parliament in January defined childhood as applying to citizens under the age of 18, in preparation for a new child protection law. The matter of child marriages, however, was intentionally excluded from the legislation under the pretext that it was a "touchy issue,”, Al-Riyadh reported. Eman Al-Nafjan was annoyed by the distinction legislators made between "a child" with regards to abuse, and "a minor" with regards to marriage."This is just semantics," she said. "It is an attempt to appease conservatives, who oppose placing restrictions on marriage practices sanctioned by Islamic law."Hmmmm......Words in the desert?Read the full story here.
- Feds And Cops Say Rep. Peter King is Right: We Don’t Get Many Tips From Muslim Community."Criminals are criminals. It gets dicier because Muslim extremists wrap their work in religion, but the smokescreens, the silence and intimidation are similar," an FBI source said."What's different is the risk - the extent of the damage, the number of innocent people who can be hurt."King has outraged many Muslim-Americans by convening hearings into homegrown radical Islamists and claiming the community has stonewalled terror investigations. He said his probe is no different than a hearing into the Mafia or another ethnicity-based group and that the U.S. must uncover the extent of jihadist recruitment on American soil.As an example, he cited Queens-born terrorist Bryant Neal Vinas, who allegedly spoke at Long Island mosques about jihadist aspirations. No one told cops, and Vinas admitted to participating in Al Qaeda attacks on U.S. soldiers after his 2008 arrest in Pakistan. But even some anti-terrorism cops are worried that King's push could backfire - by making moderate Muslims feel they are being scapegoated and more vulnerable to anti-American propaganda.Hmmm.....By the number of death threaths Congressman King gets proves he's on the right track, don't give up!Read the full story here.

- "The War on Christianity".Rhode Island School District Vows to Fight ACLU Over Attempts to Ban Prayer Banner.A Rhode Island school district has decided that if it comes down to a fight – they are willing to fight the American Civil Liberties Union over a prayer banner hanging inside a public school. The Cranston School Committee voted 4-3 Monday to keep the banner at Cranston High School West even if it means a costly legal battle. The banner had been hanging in the high school for decades but last year, the Rhode Island chapter of the ACLU received a single complaint. The ACLU asked the district to remove the banner because it violated the First Amendment – and vowed to sue if it was not taken down. However, thousands of local residents rallied to the support the banner. More than 4,000 signed a petition asking the district to keep the prayer. And last night dozens spoke out in favor of fighting the ACLU.“I say we fight the good fight,” Peter Paolella told the Providence Journal. “America needs a hero. Let’s be the hero.”Several suggested the ACLU had declared war on their community.“People have died for that flag,” one resident told the school committee. “People have died for the right for us to have a banner up that says, ‘Almighty God.’”“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with ‘Our Heavenly Father,’” Bradley told WPRI-TV. “It’s just too easy to offend people in America these days. People should just suck it up and understand that this is a diverse country.”Hmmmm.....The hottest place in Hell is reserved for those who remain neutral in times of great moral conflict.
