Erdogan: "It is regrettable that Muslims kill Muslims"
Erdogan: "It is regrettable that Muslims kill Muslims".(Taz).
It is regrettable that Muslims kill Muslims, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said speaking about the latest developments in the Middle East.
The president said that while the world is silent on the events taking place in Syria and Iraq, the militants of the ‘Islamic State’ terrorist group continue killing the Muslims to achieve their own goals, TRT Haber TV channel reported on Jan.21.
Erdogan added that the Muslim countries should resolve their problems without turning to mediators for help.
The ‘Islamic State’ (IS, formerly ISIL or ISIS,) was created in 2003 in Iraq. Between 2004 and 2006, the organization was led by Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, and consisted of 11 radical Islamist groups, which had close ties to the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda.
Following the start of military confrontation in Syria between the armed opposition and the government forces, the IS penetrated the country in 2013. The organization said at the time it refuses to take the oath of Al-Qaeda and declared ‘a holy war’ against all groups in Iraq and Syria, as well as the Syrian government forces.
Strengthening of the IS in Syria allowed it to return to Iraq, deploying military actions against government forces there.
In late June of 2014, the IS announced about the creation of the ‘Islamic Caliphate’ on the territories under its control in Iraq and Syria. In turn, Iraqi authorities asked the international community for help in fighting the IS.
Hmmm......What happened to..."Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s famous dictums: 1. Muslims don’t kill, and 2. (Jews) know well how to kill."

Turkey - 'Islamist' Gov’t plans to do away with qualifying exams for civil service.
Turkey - 'Islamist' Gov’t plans to do away with qualifying exams for civil service.(TodaysZaman).
The ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) government has prepared an action plan to remove the obligation for candidates for positions in the civil service to take a competitive exam in order to pave the way for partisans to get employment in the government, the Taraf daily reported on Monday.
The document, designated as "top secret" and "submitted to the gentleman" -- a name commonly used to refer to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan by people around him, was published in the newspaper's edition and indicates how the government would go about removing the State Personnel Examination (KPSS) and replace it with an interview-based process, which would give an advantage to candidates with “references” from AK Party politicians.
The two-page document presented to Erdoğan states that the KPSS must be removed because most candidates who are affiliated with the ruling party received low scores on exams, thereby disqualifying them from being considered for government jobs.
It underlined that party officials at the grassroots level often receive requests from party members to intervene on behalf of partisan candidates to facilitate securing them government jobs, but they were prevented from doing so due to the exam requirement.
The report emphasized that “the employment of people who will work with our party [AK Party] with 100 percent loyalty must be secured without any preconditions in all key positions in state institutions” in order to have strong links between the AK Party and state institutions.
Taraf said a comprehensive report was prepared by several deputy chairpersons in the ruling party in close coordination with Erdoğan's advisers. The two-page summary of the report was submitted to Erdoğan. The paper claimed that the government was not even aware of the report. Considering many of these recommendations were actually covered in the pro-government media with a smear campaign against the KPSS, it appears the action plans were already put into practice.
The opposition in Turkey reacted very strongly to Taraf daily's report, saying the AK Party is trying turn the civil service into a partisan bureaucracy. “The KPSS was set up during the Eecevit era and is a very objective qualifying exam for public employees. The AK Party government is trying to place loyalists in the government by removing this exam,” Akif Hamzaçebi, the CHP's parliamentary group deputy chairman, told Today's Zaman.
“The goal is to establish a partisan state,” he said, stressing that in the new system candidates will likely be asked how long they have been members of the AK Party and how many times they voted for the AK Party. MHP Deputy Chairman Oktay Vural also lambasted the government for removing equal opportunities in public employment.
He said the document published by Taraf exposing how Erdoğan is plotting to remove the KPSS is very important. “This shows a real parallel state was established by Erdoğan in the presidential office,” he told Today's Zaman. Hmmmm........."Ein Ummah, Ein Fuhrer" ....No intelligence needed, All you need to qualify is a AKP a.k.a. Muslim Brotherhood card. Read the full story here.

Dutch opposition says has documents proving Turkey sent arms to Syrian jihadists
Dutch opposition says has documents proving Turkey sent arms to Syrian jihadists. (FOT).
The Dutch opposition Christian Democratic Party (CDA) announced that it has confidential documents proving that Turkey had sent weapons to al-Qaeda militants in Syria and that it conveyed the documents to the Dutch government, according to a BBC Turkish report published on Sunday.
CDA deputy Pieter Omtzigt said his party acquired the confidential documents in November and shared them with Dick Schoof, the National Coordinator for Security and Counterterrorism (NCTV). According to the report, the documents are duplicates from an ongoing criminal investigation in Turkey into the 2014 interception and search on three Syria-bound trucks that belonged to the National Intelligence Organization (MİT).
Turkish gendarmes and several prosecutors are accused of unlawfully intercepting and conducting search on the MİT trucks, which, according to media claims, transported arms to radical Islamists in Syria.
The BBC Turkish report said former Adana Governor Hüseyin Avni Coş, who was in office at the time of the interception of the MİT trucks, said in a testimony that the arms-filled trucks belonged to MİT and were being sent to Syria upon orders from then-Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Omtzigt asked Dutch Minister of Security and Justice Ivo Opstelten whether he conveyed the documents to Foreign Minister Bert Koenders ahead of his recent visit to Turkey. Koenders visited Turkey on Jan. 5-7.
Meanwhile, CDA deputy Raymond Knops, a member of the Dutch Parliament Foreign Affairs Contact Group, accused the Dutch government of “playing ostrich” regarding Turkey’s relations with terrorist groups in Syria. Knops submitted a parliamentary question addressing Koenders regarding the claims of Turkey aiding al-Qaeda in Syria with weapons and ammunition. In his parliamentary question, Koenders cited the report by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Analytical Support and Sanctions Monitoring Team.
Koenders stated that the UNSC report had highlighted that the weapons and ammunition held by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and the al-Nusra Front were largely transported via Turkey through secret ways. According to Koenders, this information has also been confirmed by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).
The Dutch lawmaker asked, “Do you find it disturbing that weapons and ammunition have been sent to terrorist organizations in Syria through the land of NATO member Turkey?” Koenders described launching air strikes on ISIL while Syrian jihadists receive arms via Turkey as “mopping the floor while the faucet remains open.”
Last Thursday, five Turkish prosecutors who investigated the claims of illegal arms shipments to opposition groups in Syria by the MİT trucks were suspended by a top judicial board.
The suspension of the prosecutors came a day after the government obtained a blanket gag order from Adana Fifth Criminal Court of Peace, preventing the Turkish media from reporting on documents that were leaked on Twitter on Jan. 12 by anonymous Twitter user @LazepeM, who claimed the information came from the General Staff and gendarmerie investigations.

Possibly up to 1,000 Islamist jihadi in Belgium
Possibly up to 1,000 Islamist jihadi in Belgium.(Taz).
Sources close to French and Belgian intelligence services have told this reporter that there could be up to 1,000 Islamist “sleepers” currently hiding in Belgium, and waiting for the right moment to strike.
More than half of them --possibly as many as 800 -- are believed combat-hardened jihadis returning from a stint in Syria or Iraq where they received military training and experienced combat in the ranks of the Islamic State, ISIS or ISIL.
Many of those Muslim Europeans are second- and third-generation Belgians, making it harder for the authorities to detect.
Belgium is one of Europe’s smallest countries, yet one with the most strategic targets for a would-be terrorist. The unusual high number of diplomats accredited to Belgium and the many strategic targets concentrated over a relatively small territory made Belgium an ideal location from where a potential Islamist terrorists to strike.
The small size of the country offers an additional benefit to the terrorists who can be out of the country in under two hours by car. Although most of the borders have disappeared, national police forces cannot cross borders into another country.
Add to the above the fact that Belgian security forces did not enjoy a strong
reputation, the porous borders with France, Luxembourg, Germany and The Netherlands, where crossing from one country to the other is similar to crossing from one US state to another.
Furthermore, the Islamists believed they could operate from Belgium easier that in the other countries because they thought the security services were not on the ball.
Communicating through the popular Internet social networking site Twitter, the Islamists arrogantly mocked the Belgian security services, calling them “stupid” and “idiotic.” That outlook may have been revised, however, since the Belgian anti-terrorist unit thwarted a possible attack by Islamists last week.
The source who has proven to be reliable in the past, asked not to be identified.
The source said there could be anywhere between 400 to 800 returning Belgian jihadis from Iraq and Syria, plus the ”veterans” of al-Qaeda and Iraq. The number could rise to as many as 1,000 “people of concern,” the source said.
In neighboring France the numbers are thought to be even higher with about 1,500 returning fighters from the wars in the Middle East.
Germany believes they have about 50 new sleeper cells that could be operating in the country.
As previous incidents have demonstrated, large numbers are not needed to create havoc and mayhem. As an example, at the height of the clashes between the British and the Irish Republican Army, it is believed that’s no more than 150 people were involved on the IRA side. Those managed to keep almost the entire British army tied up for months at a time. Hmmmm.......No borders open 'highway' to HQ Turkey. Read the full story here.

PEGIDA movement and ‘Islamic State’ pursue similar goals – Turkish PM
PEGIDA movement and ‘Islamic State’ pursue similar goals – Turkish PM. (Taz).
PEGIDA movement in Germany and the ‘Islamic State’ terrorist organization pursue similar goals, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu was quoted Jan. 15 by Anadolu agency as saying.
He said that as the "Islamic State" is a threat to Muslim countries, PEGIDA movement is similarly a threat to Germany.
“Turkey is concerned about PEGIDA’s actions, as its representatives want to see German society without Muslims, in particular without Turks,” he said.
“ The"Islamic State" wants to see Iraq and Syria without a Christian population,” Davutoglu said.
In December 2014, an anti-Islam rally was held in the German city of Dresden. Over 17,000 people took part in the rally.
This anti-Islam rally was the tenth of its kind, organized against Islam and Muslims by the movement known as PEGIDA, and was held under the slogan: “Patriotic Europeans against the Islamization of the West”.
The rally participants protested against the increase of the number of Muslims in Europe and called for tightening of immigration policy in Germany.
'Moderate' Iran and 'Islamist' Turkey to cooperate in internet, satellite sectors
'Moderate' Iran and 'Islamist' Turkey to cooperate in internet, satellite sectors. (Taz).
Iran and Turkey plan to boost their cooperation in different fields including internet, satellite, optical fiber, and E-government.
Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mahmoud Vaezi, said that based on a signed contract, Iran will use a European bandwidth via turkey for 15 years, Iran’s IRNA News Agency reported on Jan. 17.
“Turkish firms agreed to pass their knowledge of building satellites to Iranian companies,” he added.
He made the remarks at the end of a three-day visit to Turkey.
During the visit, the Iranian minister held several meetings with high-ranking Turkish officials.
Vaezi said earlier that Tehran and Ankara can reach bilateral trade volume of $30 billion by implementing preferential trade agreement.
"The two countries need to boost their cooperation in different fields such as economy, technology, and industry," he said.
Vaezi, who is a co-chairman of the Iran-Turkey Joint Economic Commission, discussed obstacles hampering the two countries’ trade growth up to $30 billion in his talks with Turkish officials.
The discussions also concerned the agreements reached during the first meeting of the High Level Cooperation Council between the two countries.
The two countries' trade turnover stood at $13.5 billion in 2013, according to the Iranian media.
Iran's oil and gas exports accounted for $7.6 billion of the mentioned amount, while Turkey's exports to Iran were a little more than $4 billion.
The trade turnover between the two countries was around $22 billion in 2012. Iran and Turkey eye to increase their bilateral trade to $100 billion in nine years. Hmmm....Sanctions that benefit, and a bit of ICBM technology on the side?
German PEGIDA cancels rally over 'ISIL death threat' to organizers.
German PEGIDA cancels rally over 'ISIL death threat' to organizers. (HD).
Germany's anti-Islamic PEGIDA movement said it has cancelled a planned march on Jan. 19, citing a death threat against organizers from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
"Cancelled! Dear friends, unfortunately we must cancel our 13th meeting due to security concerns," the group "Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the Occident" said on its Facebook page on Jan. 18.
"What in police jargon is called an 'abstract threat' has changed to a 'concrete death threat' against a member of the organizing team. ISIL terrorists have ordered his assassination."
Germany's Der Spiegel news weekly reported Friday that foreign intelligence services had picked up communications by some "known international jihadists", without giving specific details.
The intelligence, which was passed to German authorities, indicated they had discussed possible attacks on PEGIDA rallies.
"We take these leads very seriously," Spiegel quoted an unnamed high-ranking security official as saying.
PEGIDA said it had discussed the threat with state police and the internal security agency.
It had decided to scrap the event in the eastern city of Dresden as it could not guarantee the security of marchers and feared "collateral damage".
Top-circulation daily Bild said in an online report that the threat targeted PEGIDA founder Lutz Bachmann.
Dresden police chief Dieter Kroll said in a statement that there was a "concrete" threat connected to a member of the PEGIDA team and Monday's demonstration. In view of that, he issued an order barring any rallies in the city on Monday.
Kroll said there had been a call for attackers to mingle with the demonstrators and kill one of the protest organizers. He didn't specify where the threat came from, or if any group was behind it, but said it resembled an Arabic-language Tweet describing PEGIDA as an "enemy of Islam." Hmmm........'Sometimes NATO Ally' - 3,000 in Turkey linked to ISIL group, ISIS controls border crossings......How many are in Germany?

Video - Hackers Reveals Turkey’s Weapons Shipment for Al-Qaeda in Syria
Video - Hackers Reveals Turkey’s Weapons Shipment for Al-Qaeda in Syria (AlAlam).
Video & Download of the weapons shipment here.
Secret official documents about the searching of three trucks belonging to Turkey’s national intelligence service (MIT) have been leaked online, once again corroborating suspicions that Ankara has not been playing a clean game in Syria. According to the authenticated documents, the trucks were found to be transporting missiles, mortars and anti-aircraft ammunition. The Gendarmerie General Command, which authored the reports, alleged, “The trucks were carrying weapons and supplies to the al-Qaeda terror organization.”
But Turkish readers could not see the documents in the news bulletins and newspapers that shared them, because the government immediately obtained a court injunction banning all reporting about the affair.
When President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was prime minister, he had said, “You cannot stop the MIT truck. You cannot search it. You don’t have the authority. These trucks were taking humanitarian assistance to Turkmens.”
Since then, Erdogan and his hand-picked new Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu have repeated at every opportunity that the trucks were carrying assistance to Turkmens.
Public prosecutor Aziz Takci, who had ordered the trucks to be searched, was removed from his post and 13 soldiers involved in the search were taken to court on charges of espionage. Their indictments call for prison terms of up to 20 years.
In scores of documents leaked by a group of hackers, the Gendarmerie Command notes that rocket warheads were found in the trucks’ cargo. According to the documents that circulated on the Internet before the ban came into effect, this was the summary of the incident: -On Jan. 19, 2014, after receiving a tip that three trucks were carrying weapons and explosives to al-Qaeda in Syria, the Adana Provincial Gendarmerie Command obtained search warrants.
-The Adana prosecutor called for the search and seizure of all evidence.
-Security forces stropped the trucks at the Ceyhan toll gates, where MIT personnel tried to prevent the search.
-While the trucks were being escorted to Seyhan Gendarmerie Command for an extensive search, MIT personnel accompanying the trucks in an Audi vehicle blocked the road to stop the trucks. When MIT personnel seized the keys from the trucks’ ignitions, an altercation ensued. MIT personnel instructed the truck drivers to pretend their trucks had malfunctioned and committed physical violence against gendarmerie personnel.
-The search was carried out and videotaped despite the efforts of the governor and MIT personnel to prevent it.
-Six metallic containers were found in the three trucks. In the first container, 25-30 missiles or rockets and 10-15 crates loaded with ammunition were found. In the second container, 20-25 missiles or rockets, 20-25 crates of mortar ammunition and Douchka anti-aircraft ammunition in five or six sacks were discovered. The boxes had markings in the Cyrillic alphabet.
-It was noted that the MIT personnel swore at the prosecutor and denigrated the gendarmerie soldiers doing the search, saying, “Look at those idiots. They are looking for ammunition with picks and shovels. Let someone who knows how to do it. Trucks are full of bombs that might explode.”
-The governor of Adana Huseyin Avni Cos arrived at the scene and declared, “The trucks are moving with the prime minister’s orders” and vowed not to let them be interfered with no matter what. Hmmmm....no wonder Erdogan's state prosecutor wants life imprisonment for the guards who stopped the trucks. Read te full story and see the video of the shipment here.

Spain to suspend ‘Alliance of Civilizations’ project with 'Islamist' Turkey. (Bugun).
Spain announced a suspension of the ‘Alliance of Civilisations’ meetings which was launched with Turkey in 2005.
Citing that the structure has lost its significance, the Spanish government has issued an order to not show an importance to “Alliance of Civilizations” meetings, Turkish Doğan news agency reported on Saturday.
The Alliance of Civilizations was launched in 2005 by the prime ministers of Turkey and Spain, and later adopted by the Secretary-General of the United Nations to become a UN initiative and referred to as the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC).
In 2013, Spain had also quit its position as the co-sponsor of the “Alliance of Civilizations” initiative, an initiative proposed and adopted by former Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero during the 59th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations in 2005.
Hmmmm......Geesh i wonder why Catholic Spain would act like this?

In Antwerp where this morning spotted the first armed soldiers in the streets that take over some of the monitoring tasks of the police in connection with the increased threat level.
The city of Antwerp is starting today at 7 am committing thirty paratroopers in strategic places in the city. Especially the Jewish quarter, there will be additional monitors. Reported Mayor Bart De Wever VTM News. "But mind you, Antwerp is not besieged city," says Philippe Beinaerts, Chief of Weaver.
"The paratroopers will perform surveillance and security tasks in the context of the increased threat of terrorism. They are to strengthen the police and also under the command of the police. '
'Thus, the police can resume their actual missions, including combat crime and disorder. Because the police have yet to respond to accidents, burglaries ... ". How long it applies, the mayor could not say
From today deployed additional troops in many cities in the streets. And that makes a lot of people with mixed feelings.
"Many people turn around when they see the military. They do not know whether they should feel safer or not.
It is indeed a very strange feeling to come in close contact with heavily armed men," says VTM NEWS journalist Katleen Peeraer.
Also for the paratroopers itself it takes time to get used to it. "Many do not know how to deal with the attention. People want to have a chat, but they should focus on their tasks. Many soldiers also specifically ask not to be put in a recognizable." More here.

'Sometimes NATO Ally' - 3,000 in Turkey linked to ISIL group, ISIS controls border crossings.
'Sometimes NATO Ally' - 3,000 in Turkey linked to ISIL group, ISIS controls border crossings. (HD).
There are around 3,000 people linked to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group in Turkey, a police intelligence report has alleged, raising a red alert over the possible future actions of “sleeping cells” of the jihadist group, sources have told Hürriyet.
The number is in addition between 700 and 1,000 Turkish fighters in the group, whose potential return has concerned Turkey, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said earlier this week.
Turkey has so far deported 1,165 people and placed an entry ban on 7,250 more, Çavuşoğlu also said.
The police intelligence reports calls for sensitivity to detect the links of the fighters in Turkey.
It urged the surveillance of 3,000 people to observe their positions in ISIL and determine whether or not they are active, describing them as “sleeping cells.”
The security measures for the consulates and assets of Western states have been raised to a maximum level with additional forces deployed. The new measures include patrol groups in addition to existing static security points.
The warning also covers NATO facilities and citizens of Western countries.
The fact that ISIL militants control many points on Syria’s border with Turkey is increasing the risks, the notice said.
The report said the criminal reports of foreign fighters who join ISIL by passing through Turkey were absent, creating problems for security forces.
A close watch on such people’s connections in Turkey is crucial, it said. Hmmm......How many of these '3,000' have 'connections' in Europe? Read the full story here.

Belgian 'Isis fighter' mocks Security apparatus, saying he slipped out of country 'like knife through butter' (Independent).
A Belgian man claiming to fight for Isis in Iraq has ridiculed the country’s security forces for letting him slip out the country “like a knife cutting through soft butter”.
The jibes on Twitter emerged as two suspected jihadists were shot dead in the town of Verviers as special forces foiled an “imminent” attack on police and another 30 people were arrested on suspicion of terror across Europe.
The man, calling himself Abu Mariya Belgiki – not his real name – taunted authorities last week while documenting his new life supposedly living under the “Islamic State”.
“Don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but Belgian intelligence agency is the laziest and the dumbest in the world probably...they kept me under surveillance since I was 14. And I passed through Brussels airport like a knife cutting through soft butter,” he wrote on 9 January from the account, which has since been suspended.Hmmm.....More like i drove to the Turkish Border and was welcomed with open arms.(No border checks in Europe until you reachTurkey) Read the full story here.

Council of Europe anti-torture Committee publishes report on Turkey
Council of Europe anti-torture Committee publishes report on Turkey.
Strasbourg, 15.01.2015 – The Council of Europe's Committee for the Prevention of Torture and Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (CPT) published today the report on its most recent visit to Turkey, carried out from 9 to 21 June 2013, together with the response of the Turkish authorities.
In the course of this periodic visit, the CPT reviewed the treatment and conditions of detention of persons detained by the police and gendarmerie as well as the operation in practice of fundamental safeguards against ill-treatment (such as access to a lawyer).
Particular attention was paid to the situation of persons deprived of their liberty in the context of public demonstrations which were ongoing at the time of the visit in different parts of the country (so-called “Gezi protests”); for that purpose, the CPT’s delegation interviewed many demonstrators who had been taken into police custody in Ankara and Istanbul.
The delegation also visited several prison establishments in Ankara-Sincan, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Izmir, Şanlıurfa and Tekirdağ, where it examined the treatment of prisoners by staff as well as various other issues, including the provision of health care and the regime offered to prisoners (in particular those sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment and juveniles).
In their response, the Turkish authorities provide information on steps taken or envisaged to implement the CPT’s recommendations. The visit report and the response have been made public at the request of the Turkish Government and are available on the CPT’s website: http://www.cpt.coe.int/en/states/tur.htm
