BRITISH Special Forces are mounting hit and run raids against Islamic State deep inside eastern Syria dressed as insurgent fighters, the Sunday Express revealed

The unorthodox tactic, which is seeing SAS units dressed in black and flying ISIS flags, has been likened to the methods used by the Long Range Desert Group against Rommel's forces during the Second World War.

More than 120 members belonging to the elite regiment are currently in the war-torn country on operation Shader, tasked with destroying IS equipment and munitions which insurgents constantly move to avoid Coalition air strikes.

It comes just days after David Cameron gave "carte blanche" for the SAS and SBS to target IS leaders as part of the Government's "broad spectrum" response to the murder of 30 British tourists by ISIS gunman Seifeddine Rezgui in the Tunisian beach resort of Sousse.

Though the Prime Minister is being kept informed, senior military sources last night told the Sunday Express that he would not be required to "green light" every mission.

Instead the teams, part of a force known as the Coalition Joint Special Operations Task Force, are under American command.

Dubbed "smash" the units, which travel in civilian pick-ups, can even launch their own unmanned aerial vehicles, or mini-drones, to scan terrain ahead of them and pinpoint IS forces.

Using a US-developed programme, the UAVs camera system can identify any known High Value Target, digitally transmitting the information as it happens to analysts on the ground.

They are being supported by more than 250 specialists, who provide additional communications support.

Operating in small groups, the units reveal their coordinates to RAF and coalition air forces and are assigned a "kill box" - an area which will not be attacked by air while they are operating there.

Last week an additional 20 SAS soldiers flew into Saudi Arabia to prepare a training system in which the UK will instruct hundreds of members of the Syrian Moderate Opposition, as part of efforts by David Cameron to seek a support by Labour and the SNP on air strikes over Syria.

Last week former head of the British Army General Lord Richards said he belived IS would not be vanquished without a concerted effort on the ground, adding "tanks will roll."

Speaking to the Sunday Express last night a senior military source said: "Essentially, this is what we call penny packet operations - small individual incursions which hopefully join up to create tangible results. The view here is long - it's about finding and engaging targets, yes, but it's also about assessing infrastructure and identifying where ISIS is hidings its equipment in order to set the conditions for a potentially larger, future engagement. British SAS sniper saves father and eight-year-old son from being beheaded by ISIS maniac.

British SAS sniper saves father and eight-year-old son from being beheaded by ISIS maniac.(Express).

The brave British marksman saved the terrified eight-year-old and his father after taking out the crazed jihadi with a head shot from 1,000 metres away.

The special forces crack shot then killed two other members of the hated terror group, who were also taking part in the sick planned execution.

ISIS militants had decreed that the little boy and his father must die after branding them "infidels" because they refused to denounce their faith.

They were just seconds from death when the hero sniper intervened to stop the barbaric killing in the Syrian desert. The pair were part of the minority Shia sect of Islam which ISIS considers to be heretical.

The crack team considered calling in an air strike using a Reaper Drone, but the elite troops feared many of the innocent civilians who had been forced to watch the executions might also be killed.

Instead the SAS unit decided on a risky long-range kill using the team’s sniper.

Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, one source said: “There were several decapitated bodies already lying on the ground.

"Through binoculars the soldiers could see that the crowd were terrified and many were in tears."

A man and a young boy were dragged out in front of the crowd and were made to kneel down.

"They were both wearing blindfolds and looked terrified.

"A tall bearded man emerged and drew a long knife.

"He began addressing the crowd and slapping the father and his son around the head and kicking them on to the floor.

"Standing either side of the executioner were two other Isis fighters, both armed with AK47s."

The SAS marksman, using a .50 calibre sniper rifle fitted with a silencer, killed the executioner just in time.

The source added: "The ISIS thug who was about to decapitate the father was shot in the head and collapsed.

"Everyone just stared in confusion. The sniper then dispatched the two henchmen with single shots – three kills with three bullets." Read the full story here.

Looks a bit like S-300... only smaller S-30,5

New Home-Made Heavy Tactical Vehicle, Rocket Launcher Unveiled in Iran. (Fars).

Iran's defense industries organization on Thursday unveiled a home-made rocket launching system and a tactical heavy vehicle in a ceremony attended by Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan.

Addressing the ceremony, Dehqan said the new launcher system is used to fire Falaq rockets and is a useful weapon for ground battles.

Falaq rocket launcher which is capable of opening heavy fire on the targets enjoys high maneuverability. It can also be stationed rapidly and has good mobility for difficult terrains, the minister explained.

When equipped with Falaq 1 and 2 rockets, the new launcher can hit targets within a range of 10 kilometers, he added.

Thanks to the high destructive power of the Falaq rocket’s warhead, the proper area that its shrapnel covers and the tactical features of the launcher, the Iranian forces will have the power to fight ground battles proportionate to the threats, Dehqan explained.

In a relevant development on Sunday, Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps unveiled a home-made high-explosive mine and test-fired an anti-cruise missile in a ceremony attended by IRGC Ground Force Commander Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour.

Among the weapons test-fired on Sunday was a rotating three-cylinder cannon, 'Asefeh', which was unveiled a few months ago and can be used to target and destroy incoming cruise missiles and hostile flying objects in low altitudes.

Another system which was unveiled and test-fired was 'Ramait' high-explosive roadside mine which can destroy an armored column within a radius of 100-150 meters with high precision.

Also a solo weapon, 'Fateh', was the third system unveiled this afternoon. Fateh is an Iran-made sniper rifle that fires 5.56mm bullets.

"Ramait roadside mine which enjoys good capabilities will be mass-produced tomorrow," Pakpour told FNA. He added that other systems tested today are also ready for mass-production.
