Egyptian TV Host Ibrahim Issa: Nobody Dares to Admit That ISIS Crimes Are Based on Islamic Sources.
Following are excerpts from an interview with Egyptian journalist and TV host Ibrahim Issa, which aired on ON TV on February 3, 2015:
Ibrahim Issa: Whenever ISIS carries out an act of barbarity, such as decapitations, throat slitting, or the burning of a person alive, as they did today, various sheiks tell you – if they even bother to say anything – that this has nothing to do with Islam, that Islam is not to blame, and whatever. But when the people of ISIS perpetrate slaughter, murder, rape, immolation, and all those barbaric crimes, they say that they are relying on the sharia. They say that this is based on a certain hadith, on a certain Quranic chapter, on a certain saying of Ibn Taymiyyah, or on some historical event. To tell the truth, everything that ISIS says is correct.
This should not come as a surprise to anyone, as a surprise to anyone, and nobody should be shocked by what I am saying. All the evidence and references that ISIS provides to justify its crimes, its barbarity, and its horrifying, criminal, and despicable violence… All the evidence and references that ISIS provides, claiming that they can be found in the books of history, jurisprudence, and law, are, indeed, to be found there, and anyone who says otherwise is lying. […]
When they kill a person claiming that he is an infidel, when they rape women, when they kill prisoners, and when they slaughter and decapitate people, they say that the Prophet Muhammad said so. Indeed, the Prophet said so! What was the context? The interpretation? That's a whole different story.
None of those [Al-Azhar clerics] who purport to be moderate, and who were told by President Al-Sisi to change the religious discourse, have the courage – not a single grain of courage – to admit that these things are indeed to be found [in Islamic sources] and are [morally] wrong.
If it is claimed that a certain companion of the Prophet did this or that, you should respond by saying that he was morally wrong. I would like to see a single Al-Azhar cleric in Egypt have the courage to admit that Abu Bakr burned a man alive. That's right. He burned Fuja'ah [Al-Sulami]. This is a well-known historical story. […]
Was Abu Bakr morally wrong to burn that man alive? Nobody dares to say so. So we are left in this vicious circle, and you can expect more barbarity, because all this barbarity is sacred.
It is sacred. This barbarity is wrapped in religion. It is immersed in religion. It is all based on religion. Your mission [as a cleric] is to say that while it is part of our religion, the interpretation is wrong. Do not tell people that Islam has nothing to do with this.

Erdoğan’s authority challenged: “I will carry on this struggle even if I have to walk alone”
Erdoğan’s authority challenged: “I will carry on this struggle even if I have to walk alone”(HD).
It must be very difficult for a leader who likes to exercise authority like Turkish President Tayyip Erdoğan to admit publicly that he failed to convince Hakan Fidan, the powerful head of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT), to stay in office.
“Unfortunately,” Erdoğan told reporters accompanying him on his trip to Latin America, “he said he could not continue any longer.”According to the constitution, the MİT is still under the prime minister, which is one of the reasons why Erdoğan wants it to be formally tied to the presidency in the strong presidential system that he dreams of.
On board the presidential plane, he said something bitter about both Davutoğlu and Fidan, without directly giving their names. “Perhaps he [Fidan] is planning to become a candidate [for parliament] or beyond [like a minister]. Or perhaps he was given certain promises, I can’t know that. But I told him [Fidan] that I did not find his departure from the MİT to be appropriate,” Erdoğan said.
The real source of Erdoğan’s anger must be something else. It could be, for example, a challenge he is facing from his closest circle, from the two men he has been relying on so far. His remark to reporters, “I will carry on this struggle even if I have to walk alone,” says a lot about his psychology.
It is possible that Erdoğan and Davutoğlu will find a way to find common ground, as the June 7 elections are too valuable to risk. But this wound is the kind that can leave a scar on the face, and it is likely to have political consequences - especially within the governing party. Hmmm....They have decided that he has to go, he's damaging the public image of Turkey too much, businesses are loosing investors and money, money talks. Read the full story here.

IS fighter currently under trial: "Turkish Intelligence provided weapons to ISIS"
IS fighter currently under trial: "Turkish Intelligence provided weapons to ISIS" (JPost).
According to a story published in the Cumhuriyet daily on Monday, Turkish authorities are trying to divert public attention from the case because the prosecutor's dossier has details which reveal the involvement of MİT in arms smuggling.
Cumhuriyet reported that Aşkar was told by Topalca that the smuggling would not be a problem in Turkey because he had contacts. Aşkar, Topalca and certain other Turkmens then took the arms to a village near the Syrian border in Hatay province. When they reached the village, Turkish gendarmerie teams carrying a jammer device asked them why they were in a military zone. Aşkar quoted Topalca as saying that they had permission to be there.
“Topalca and the gendarmes made some telephone calls that I couldn't hear. Without any checks on my vehicle, which was loaded with arms, we were taken to the border with a military escort,” Aşkar said. He then added that his vehicle, along with another that had joined them on the way, was taken by people who crossed from the Syrian side to collect the vehicles.
According to Aşkar, Topalca told him that there were 100 rifles belonging to NATO in the vehicle and that the smuggling had been conducted with the approval and support of MİT. Hmmm.....No wonder the Turkish state prosecutor asks life imprisonment for the guards that stopped the MIT trucks....Just guess what these guys could reveal. Read the full story here.

U.S. intelligence estimates of ISIL’s membership size are probably way too low.
U.S. intelligence estimates of ISIL’s membership size are probably way too low. (WOR).
Estimates of the number of fighters in the ranks of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) are extraordinarily wide-ranging.
On the low end of things, CNN’s Barbara Starr recently reported that “U.S. intelligence estimates that ISIL has a total force of somewhere between 9,000 to 18,000 fighters.”
In late 2014, the CIA’s estimate of ISIL’s numbers was slightly higher, as its analysts assessed that the group had between 20,000 and 31,500 fighters between its Iraq and Syria holdings.
Other estimates are far higher. Rami Abdel Rahman, the director of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, has said that ISIL has more than 50,000 fighters in Syria alone. The chief of the Russian General Staff recently said that Russia estimates ISIL to have “70,000 gunmen of various nationalities.”
In late August of 2014, Baghdad-based security expert Hisham al-Hashimi claimed that ISIL’s total membership could be close to 100,000.
By November, Fuad Hussein, the chief of staff to Kurdish president Massoud Barzani, told Patrick Cockburn of The Independent that the CIA’s estimates were far too low, and that ISIL had at least 200,000 fighters.
It still isn’t clear precisely how many fighters ISIL has, but its total force is likely to be closer to 100,000 than to 30,000 (although, unlike the martyrdom-seeking fanatics in its ranks, ISIL’s conscripts are more likely to turn tail and run in a tough situation).
The low-end estimates are simply too low to be realistic, while the high-end estimates—of which many observers are intuitively skeptical—are far more plausible than they first appear once one attempts to break them down more systematically. Hmmm......It seems 'El Pais' their 'estimates could be pretty close to the truth.Read the full story here.

El Pais: "Between 30 - 100k European fighters in Syria and Iraq"

El Pais reports Based on research by Spanish Police there are between 30 - 100k European fighters in Syria and Iraq. (ElPais).[GoogleTranslate].
Spain has become a place of settlement trafficking mafias that are used by jihadi veterans to return to Europe.
Those "militants" Europeans who enlisted in the ranks of the Islamic State are now camouflaged among refugees fleeing war in Syria and use the routes created by mafias Spain -and as platform- to return to sneak in their respective countries origin.
So to a report prepared by the Operations Section of Falsified Documents of UCRIF (Central Unit Illegal Immigration Networks and Falsified Documents) in late 2014, before the attacks in Paris . The document identifies three main routes of entry:. African, South American and European Veterans returning -most experienced in handling weapons and explosives constitute a major counter terrorism concerns of European governments.
The "threat" underlined by this report, that figure "between 30,000 and 100,000 militants" from Europe that have joined the caliphate of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi (leader EI), is twofold:
the proliferation of trafficking mafias persons before the stampede of civilians and the "terrorists entry and return of European veterans using the same networks."Last November, police dismantled a network of six people based in Madrid -but with branches in Turkey and Latin America - dedicated to introducing people from Syria in Spain.
And that report states: "The investigations have identified only a month, this group of six people of Lebanese and Iraqi nationality made cash transactions of more than 100,000 euros". He adds: "The final destination of this money is not determined but it is assumed that a portion serves to finance the Islamic State ".
According to researchers, it is "more lucrative then the cocaine trafficking business."
The UN estimates trafficked -the end of September 200,000 people had crossed the borders of Turkey and Lebanon pay between 6,000 and 10,000 euros for the long journey, which usually stop in Athens or Istanbul.
In these cities, they are providing false documentation, before boarding the plane that will take them downtown or north of Europe, stopping in either Latin America or directly to UK.
The forged passports, "manufactured in Greece or Turkey, which is the Seven 7 of false documents "in the words of the agents, often have Greek, Turkish or Israeli, or UK citizenship if the final destination is there. Read the full story here.(Spanish).
