KHAN YOUNIS (Alresalah.ps) -- Senior leader of Hamas Mahmoud al-Zahhar said all options are available to confront the Israeli occupation, including armed and popular resistance and resistance of boycott.

Armed resistance is not a political issue that may be negotiated, said al-Zahhar in a meeting organized by Hamas and the Islamic Jihad in Khan Younis City on Sunday to commemorate the day Jerusalem was occupied.

"It is neither a controversial, nor a negotiable issue; it is, rather, dogmatic fundamental cause in struggle with Israel," said al-Zahhar, referring to armed resistance, pointing out that Israel has long sought to erase the Palestinian constants, concerning the Palestinian lands, Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Al-Zahhar stressed that the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) refuses a Palestinian state within the 1967 or 1948 territories, saying "Our policy is Palestine, all of Palestine". 

He explained that Palestine as a whole is a part of the Islamic dogma that is derived from the Holy Qura'an. (See picture on the left)

Speaking of relations with the Islamic Jihad, al-Zahhar confirmed that both movements cooperate at political, security, military, and syndicate levels. Political leaders meet continuously, said al-Zahhar.

At military level, there is a full coordination between Hamas and the Islamic Jihad, added he. Al-Zahhar expressed his aspirations that both movements would unit, alongside with other Palestinian parties, to confront the Israeli occupier.

GAZA CITY (Ma'an) -- Israeli authorities on Friday granted Palestinian businessmen from the Gaza Strip permits for the first time since 2007, officials at the Palestinian liaison said.

An official told Ma'an that Israel granted 90 "BMG" permits to Gazan businessmen to facilitate their movement for 6 months.

Businessmen in Gaza have previously been granted "BMC" permits. A BMC permit allows its holder to enter Israel through crossings or checkpoints used by Israelis, for example to travel via Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv.

The permits were changed however to "BMG" permits, which last for six months rather than a couple days according to COGAT guidelines for administering the permits.

Carriers of BMG permits enable the business persons to enter Israel as well to travel via Allenby bridge as "VIP" travelers, however travel via Israeli airports requires a separate approval process.

The new permits are being issued amid a reported increase in the detention of Gazan business workers at the Erez crossing in March and February of this year.

"The Erez crossing has become a trap for Gaza merchants who have newly received entry permits from Israel," a Palestinian liaison official told Ma'an after an electronics salesman was detained in March.

Israel, he added, had recently started to issue entry permits to new Gaza traders while veteran businessmen were being denied entry.


Palestinians detained at Erez are often interrogated for several hours, sometimes even for days, before they are either allowed into Israel en route to the West Bank or sent back to Gaza.

GAZA CITY (Alresalah.ps) -- Member of Hamas Political Bureau Khalil Hayyeh said on Wednesday that the Islamic Resistance Movement rejects the equation that reconstruction is in exchange for the maintenance of Israel's security.

The reconstruction of the Gaza Strip is a right the donor countries cannot compromise, said the Hamas senior leader.

The German Minister of Foreign Affairs placed emphasis on the importance of maintaining Israel's security to start the development process in the Gaza Strip.

Hayyeh said that the halting of reconstruction is a state of extortion and it is not acceptable, confirming that it is similar to what happened to Iraq, when food was exchanges for oil.

He called on the international community to compel Israel to the stipulations of the truce signed between Israel and the Palestinian resistance and brokered by Egypt.

Hamas is committed to the truce, and Israel is demanded to adhere to its conditions and stop violations.

Hayyeh criticized the PA over stealing the revenue taxes collected from the people of the Gaza Strip.
