Obama's BFF Erdogan: "Homosexuality, which is labeled as a “sexual choice,” is contrary to the culture of Islam."
Obama's BFF Erdogan: "Homosexuality, which is labeled as a “sexual choice,” is contrary to the culture of Islam."(HD).Homosexuality, which is labeled as a “sexual choice,” is contrary to the culture of Islam, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said March 21, referring to the case of nine-year-old Yunus who was adopted as a baby by a lesbian couple in the Netherlands.
“We should hand over Yunus to secure hands. If we say ‘a six-month child cannot make such a decision so it is the judiciary who decides,’ then this could lead to us to a big mistake,” Erdoğan told reporters in a joint press conference with his Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte.
Nine-year-old Turkish boy Yunus, who is a Dutch citizen, was adopted by the Hague-based couple when he was a baby, but his biological mother told Dutch public broadcaster NOS that she wanted him back.
Erdoğan also called on non-governmental organizations (NGO) to get involved in the issue to solve the problem. For his part, Rutte said the issue was the Netherlands’ internal problem and that he was against the issue being discussed at ministerial level.
Turkey has embarked on a campaign to retrieve children of Turkish immigrant families living in Europe who are fostered by foreigners. It says they should instead be placed in homes where their cultural identity can be preserved. Hmmmm.........“Thank God Almighty,” said Mr. Erdogan in 1994, when he was the mayor of Istanbul. “I am a servant of Shariah.” Read the full story here.

Another step towards "Islamist Turkey" - Turkish military to expel gays.
Another step towards "Islamist Turkey" - Turkish military to expel gays.(HD).A new discipline regulation draft for the Turkish Armed Forces reveals a new guise for an old practice against gays in military posts.
According to media reports, homosexuality has been included as a major offense in the new discipline regulation draft of the Turkish Armed Forces. The punishment for offenders of the “crime,” which was defined as “unnatural intimacy” in the draft, will be expulsion from the military.
However, gay rights activists say the termination of contract practice has long been in place, although this is the first time it is clearly referred to in the discipline regulation.
LGBT associations have harshly criticized the new change, labeling it discriminatory and a violation of human rights.
Ali Erol from KaosGL, an Ankara-based LGBT association, told the Hürriyet Daily News yesterday the practice was not new apart from its wording. Noting a fundamental contradiction in the military attitude against homosexuality as a whole, Erol said the army practiced a dual policy.
“When it is the case of mandatory military service, a gay person is considered sick and held exempt from military service. The military defines homosexuality as a psychosexual disorder. But when a member of the military staff is homosexual, he is considered guilty of a disciplinary crime. This is discrimination on a double scale.”
Erol also said the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) had decided against Turkey’s discriminatory practices many times and if this new regulation was enacted to prevent further lawsuits, it would fail.

"Weird Or What?" - Russia's War on Gays and Lesbians Intensifies, spreads to Milk Cartons.(Spiegel).Russia's self-proclaimed morality police have discovered a new danger to the people's health and values, and it is to be found in the country's supermarkets -- in the form of dairy products from the American company PepsiCo. Activists from the Orthodox group called the People's Council have even gotten Russia prosecutors involved.
"The packaging of these dairy products with the label 'Vesyoly Molochnik' have long been a thorn in my side," says Anatoly Artyuch, of the People's Council. The brand means "happy milkman" in English.
Pepsi uses the brand to sell all manner of dairy products, including milk, yoghurt and kefir. Packages portray a smiling, slightly rotund milkman wearing a chef's hat. Behind him is a green meadow with a rainbow stretching across the sky. Artyuch believes that the rainbow isn't quite as innocent as it might seem. He thinks it is "the global symbol of the sodomite movement."
Russia's judiciary is currently looking into the claims. The grotesque offensive against the dairy brand is part of a conservative campaign in Russia aimed at gays and lesbians in the country. In their view, homosexuality isn't merely a sin, but also a symbol of damaging "Westernization."
The happy milkman isn't the only target. A court in the metropolis of St. Petersburg, once called the "window to the West" by Czar Peter the Great, has subpoenaed US pop icon Madonna for allegedly disseminating "homosexual propaganda" during her concert in the city at the beginning of August.
Recently, when an outdoor clothing chain advertised in the Internet for applicants to a business academy, one of the five criteria listed was "traditional orientation," Russian code for heterosexuals. A columnist for the English language paper Moscow Times commented in response that "gays are the new Jews."The radical Moscow priest Sergei Rybko even used the brutal attack on the club 7freedays as an excuse to call for the final battle between the East and the West. Russia, he warned, is threatening to become "a tolerant, Western country in which anything goes." He called for a "cleansing of the Fatherland."
That was too much even for some within the Orthodox Church. "Of course we denounce such phenomena," said conservative priest Roman Bratshik. "I would like to point out, however, that God sent angels to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah."Hmmmm.......In the old days there was a pot of gold at the end of a rain bow now its a homo or lesbi?Read the full story here.

Gay Propaganda Ban in Russia - Russian Supreme Court Defines ‘Gay Propaganda’
Gay Propaganda Ban in Russia - Russian Supreme Court Defines ‘Gay Propaganda’.(RN).Russia’s Supreme Court upheld a controversial regional ban on “gay propaganda,” but said it only covers the direct promotion of homosexual relations among minors, LGBT activists said on Thursday. Pickets in support of and public discussions on gay rights remain legal despite the ban, passed by the Arkhangelsk Region's legislature last fall, the court said. Informing minors about homosexual relations is also allowed as long as the information remains neutral in tone, the court said in a ruling passed in mid-August but not publicized until this week. The Arkhangelsk ban imposes fines of up to 50,000 rubles ($1,600) for “gay propaganda,” without elaborating on the term. The ban was since adopted by several other Russian regions, including St. Petersburg, and proposed for nationwide application. The LGBT community in Russia is rarely permitted to hold public events. Moscow authorities have been banning gay pride rallies in the capital since 2006, and last summer the City Hall prohibited all such events for the next 100 years.Read the full story here, more here.

Egyptian diplomat suggests gays are ‘not real people’.
Egyptian diplomat suggests gays are ‘not real people’.(PN).By Benjamin Weinthal.Egypt’s chief diplomatic representative to the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva declared last week at a meeting about the universal right to association that gays do not warrant protections and are considered not to be “real people” in the Middle East. The liberal Egyptian web news outlet Bikya Masr first reported on Omar Shalaby’s homophobic remarks. According to a transcription of Mr Shalaby’s presentation, he said: “Finally, concerning the highly controversial notion of sexual orientation, we can only reiterate that it is not part of the universally recognized human rights.” Last year, US Sectary of State Hilary Clinton, however, told the UN body in Geneva that “It should never be a crime to be gay.” Mrs Clinton told the diplomats in Geneva in December that: “Gay rights are human rights.” Mr Shalaby further stated: “We call on Mr Kiai [UN Special Rapporteur on freedom of peaceful assembly and association] not to undermine the credibility and legitimacy of his important work in the eyes of real people who actually need it, especially in regions where such concepts are rejected by both its Christian and Muslim inhabitants like the Middle East.”The UN webcast of Mr Shalaby’s anti-gay comments can be viewed here.
In an email statement to PinkNews.co.uk on Wednesday, Klaus Jetz, the executive director of Germany’s Lesbian and Gay Association, wrote: “LGBT rights are human rights, they are universal and indivisible. They apply to LGBT people all over the world and to LGBT people in Egypt as well, they are not negotiable. Denying human rights to LGBT people means attacking human rights.”
PinkNews.co.uk emails seeking a comment from Egypt’s embassy and consulate in Germany were not immediately returned. Egypt’s government has over the years severely cracked down on gay life in the country, including mass show trials of men to ratchet up a climate of fear against sexual minorities. According to Human Rights Watch, twenty-three men were convicted in 2001 in a “politically motivated trial” for their alleged sexual orientation.
Though homosexuality is ostensibly not legally codified as a crime, there are widespread anti-gay barriers in Egypt that prevent the free expression of the LGBT community. The UN Human Rights Council told PinkNews.co.uk: “The Human Rights Council is an intergovernmental body which provides a space for a wide range of views from States, NGOs, civil society and other participants. The comments made by the Egyptian delegate on 21 June during a discussion on a report of the Special Rapporteur on peaceful assembly, Maina Kiai, expressed the views of the Egyptian delegation, and should certainly not be interpreted as an endorsement by the Council as a whole.Hmmmm......."CHANGE" Egyptian style.Read the full story here.

Moscow Wants to Make anti-gay law Law Federal.
Moscow Wants to Make anti-gay law Law Federal.(MN).Deputies of the Moscow City Duma discussing the creation of an anti-gay law similar to the one in St. Petersburg have decided to broaden its scope to ban all kinds of "sexual propaganda," and they said they plan to push the initiative on the federal level. City Duma Speaker Vladimir Platonov proposed the idea and stressed its importance during a round table meeting attended by representatives of regions where laws restricting homosexual propaganda among minors have already been enacted. But the legislation would also ban the spread of materials of a heterosexual nature. Representatives of parental organizations said the law was not aimed at people of non-traditional sexual orientation, but a necessary step to protect children from information that would produce psychological harm, a news release about the discussion on the City Duma website said. Platonov was adamant about the need to protect children's rights. "If we talk about the simple writing of the law, it would be possible to limit distribution of the material and harvest already-existing experience," he said, adding that it would be possible to just "take up a pen and write the same law accepted by four subjects of the Federation," the news release said. Platonov also said it was necessary to "address to the Federation Council in order to prepare a good federal legislative initiative that would protect minors from all the negative information." One demonstrator stood outside the City Duma in a one-man picket to protest the discussion, holding a sign reading "Stop homophobic crooks! Moscow is behind us," Moskovksy Komsomolets reported. Gay rights activists said Tuesday they are planning a parade for May 27 to protest the advance of anti-homosexual legislation in Russia. "Notification of the event will be filed and submitted to the capital's mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, in mid-May,” founder of the Moscow Gay Pride movement Nikolai Alekseyev told Interfax. “The main theme will be the legislative bans on gay propaganda in Russia," he said. The parade is also timed to coincide with the 19th anniversary of the abolition of criminal prosecution for engaging in homosexual relations, Alekseev said.Hmmm......In 2007 Orthodox Patriarch Alexy II called homosexuality an “illness” and attacked what he called “homosexual propaganda” influencing young people during an address to the council’s parliamentary assembly. He said homosexuality was “an illness and a distortion of the human personality” comparable to kleptomania.Read the full story here.

Dante's Divine Comedy Should be Banned Due to its "racist, homophobic, anti-Islamist and anti-Semitic." character.
Dante's Divine Comedy Should be Banned Due to its "racist, homophobic, anti-Islamist and anti-Semitic." character.(Telegraph).The classic work should be removed from school curricula, according to Gherush 92, a human rights organisation which acts as a consultant to UN bodies on racism and discrimination.
Dante's epic is "offensive and discriminatory" and has no place in a modern classroom, said Valentina Sereni, the group's president.
Divided into three parts – Hell, Purgatory and Heaven – the poem consists of 100 cantos, of which half a dozen were marked out for particular criticism by the group.
It represents Islam as a heresy and Mohammed as a schismatic and refers to Jews as greedy, scheming moneylenders and traitors, Miss Sereni told the Adnkronos news agency.
"The Prophet Mohammed was subjected to a horrific punishment – his body was split from end to end so that his entrails dangled out, an image that offends Islamic culture," she said.
Homosexuals are damned by the work as being "against nature" and condemned to an eternal rain of fire in Hell.
"We do not advocate censorship or the burning of books, but we would like it acknowledged, clearly and unambiguously, that in the Divine Comedy there is racist, Islamophobic and anti-Semitic content. Art cannot be above criticism," Miss Sereni said.
Schoolchildren and university students who studied the work lacked "the filters" to appreciate its historical context and were being fed a poisonous diet of anti-Semitism and racism, the group said.
It called for the Divine Comedy to be removed from schools and universities or at least have its more offensive sections fully explained.
The remarks prompted Italian cultural associations, actors who have performed the epic and even gay groups to rush to the defence of the poet.It was wrong to judge Dante by the standards of today, said Giorgio Rembado, the president of an Italian head teachers' association."Works of literature need to be placed in the historical context," he said.Banning the Divine Comedy would be "senseless".
Franco Grillini, the head of Gaynet, a gay rights' organisation, said the suggestion that Dante's writings should be prohibited marked "an excess of political correctness".Hmmmm......I can think of a few Anti-Semitic works myself, that i would like to see banned.Read the full story here.

Jeremiah Wright Endorses Anti-Semitic 'March to Jerusalem'
Jeremiah Wright Endorses Anti-Semitic 'March to Jerusalem'.(Breitbart).President Barack Obama’s longtime pastor at Trinity United Church, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, has announced his support for the anti-Semitic “March to Jerusalem” at the end of March. The White House has refused comment.
The “March to Jerusalem” is a massive campaign designed to send anti-Israel partisans across Israel’s borders and into Jerusalem. The National Conference on Jewish Affairs reports Iran's government is involved in the organization of the event and plans to send thousands of participants in caravans, whose schedules have been published by the Quds News agency.
As the Anti-Defamation League has pointed out, the Facebook page for the group features “worldwide Jewish lobby news”; when you click for such nefarious news, you’re directed to a website pushing Holocaust denial. The Facebook page is also virulently anti-gay, condemning Tel Aviv for its gay-friendly policies and stating that such policies are part and parcel of “historical Jewish efforts to spread corruption and perversion among all human societies.”
Does Jeremiah Wright still matter? Of course. These are the sorts of folks Obama has spent a lifetime palling around with and learning from. And no amount of throwing-under-the-bus can change Barack Obama’s history of anti-Semitic associations.Read the full story here.
