Sheikh of Al-Azhar Ahmad Al-Tayyeb said that it was the Jews who had started the animosity with the Muslims, by rejecting the message of the Prophet Muhammad. 

In a May 5 interview with Egyptian TV's Channel 1, Sheikh Al-Tayyeb said that the Jews “took actual measures to thwart, kill, and bury the Islamic call in its infancy.” 

Even though 1,400 years have passed since the advent of Islam, Sheikh of Al-Azhar said, “we still suffer from Zionist-Jewish interference in the affairs of the Muslims.”

15:10  Al-Ahram Arabic news website reports that Gharbiya governorate security chief Hossam El-Din Khalifa has been relieved of duty after the church attack in Tanta left dozens dead and injured on Sunday.

This puts the combined death toll from the Tanta and Alexandria attacks at 45.

12:30 Catholic Pope Francis has decried Sunday’s deadly blast during Palm Sunday celebrations, just weeks before his planned visit to Cairo, AP reported.

"My deep condolences to my brother, Pope Tawadros II, the Coptic church and all of the dear Egyptian nation," the pontiff said, adding that he was praying for the dead and wounded. Word of the bombing came as Francis himself was marking Palm Sunday in St. Peter's Square.

The pontiff asked God "to convert the hearts of those who spread terror, violence and death, and also the hearts of those who make, and traffic in, weapons."

12:28 President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has called for a National Defence Council meeting in response to the attack on Sunday, according to state TV. The National Defence Council is made up of the prime minister, the speaker of parliament, the minister of defence and the commanders of the Egyptian armed forces, and is chaired by the president.

Indonesian police fired tear gas in order to disperse a group of hard-line Muslim protesters outside a church in Bekasi, Indonesia.

According to the Associated Press, several hundred protesters from the group called Forum for Bekasi Muslim Friendship staged the demonstration to protest against the building of the Santa Clara church.

The church has been under construction since November.
Eye Witnesses told AP that the protesters had tried to force their way into the property and threw rocks and bottles at the building before police fired the tear gas.

Local priest Fr Raymundus Sianipar was advised by police to leave the area for his own safety.
The church has been the target of protests since it received a construction permit in June 2015.

Last year, the demonstrators sealed off the church and demanded the permit be revoked.
Approximately 12,000 Catholics live in Beksai.

Pastor Bob Roberts is a committed evangelical Christian, a barbeque-loving Texan, and head of a large conservative congregation just outside Dallas with an essential mission to plant new churches around the world.

So he’s the first to say that it’s sort of odd that his 30-year journey as an evangelical minister would lead him to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the most prominent Muslim clerics in the world. He prays with them in their mosques, “breaks bread” with them, Texas-style, at his home, and has become one of the leading Christian ministers of any persuasion in what he calls the fight against Islamophobia.

“I never dreamed I’d ever do anything like that – I had no desire to,” says Pastor Roberts, head of the 3,000-member NorthWood Church in Keller. On Monday, he traveled to the White House with other religious leaders to be briefed on the situation of Christians in Iran and the recent nuclear deal. “You have to understand my background and how we view things like that... But right now the biggest challenge in fighting Islamophobia is my tribe – the Evangelicals.”

last week, Roberts joined Hassan’s organization and other Muslim advocacy groups to speak out sharply against the recent words of Franklin Graham, son of the evangelistic icon Billy Graham. On his Facebook page, the second-generation evangelist responded to the attacks on the nation’s military in Chattanooga, writing: “We are under attack by Muslims at home and abroad. We should stop all immigration of Muslims to the U.S. until this threat with Islam has been settled.”

At a press conference on July 23, Roberts expressed “disappointment” with Reverend Graham’s words, saying that religious freedom should be a value Americans fight for both locally and globally. “Standing up for the rights for Muslims to Worship impacts the rights of Christian to worship around the world, as well,” he said.

But Roberts had another reason to speak out. Three weeks ago, he traveled to Doha, Qatar, after helping to organize a meeting between Christian pastors and Muslim clerics. At the meeting, five American imams and five American pastors joined together with local Muslim clerics and seven Pakistani Christian ministers. They discussed the enmity that often exists between their faiths, and what they could do.

At the end of the meeting, these ministers made a pact: “We agreed that we would watch out for the Muslim minority here and deal with Islamophobia, and they said they would watch out for the Christian minority there. And so, that’s where the Franklin Graham statement came from. I look pretty regularly log 12 h 45 on M6 . Each day a question is asked and submitted to the vote of viewers on the Internet.

The survey response is usually given in 12: 45 pm the next day. 

Yesterday, Monday, June 15, the question was:

"Must the empty churches accommodate Muslim prayer rooms as proposed Dalil Boubaker? ". 

I went to vote on the Internet shortly after the question was asked and I remember that "no" to the already carried 88%.

Today, Tuesday 16 June, so the next day, I'm positioned in front of my screen 12 h 45 and awaits the distribution of the answer to the question of the day before. Except error (a moment of inattention lightning sleep?): NOTHING! 

                                                No response to the survey as usual. 

So I went back on the Internet where I could found it difficult in the footsteps of the question that was asked but when I did however could not find the results of the survey. 

It happens that I am also auditor of the newspaper RTL Midi .

And the question that day was similar on RTL that of M6 yesterday: "Should we transform disused churches into mosques? " .

The question is who would be the designating party, the Coptic Orthodox Church or the Vatican? 

Both Churches elevate individuals to martyrdom, some even to Sainthood, on the sole ecclesiastic basis and consideration of killed because of their faith and not other political, military or ideological considerations." Such possible decision could have significant ramifications on the moral and psychological levels, worldwide.

The Meaning of Martyrdom for Christians and Muslims

The meaning of martyrdom is radically different for Christians and Muslims. This difference is based on how, according to their religious beliefs, they look upon each other.

The word "martyr," in both the Christian and Islamic traditions, means "witness." In this regard, "martyr" refers to a witness for the faith. The Greek word (martus) signifies a witness who testifies to a fact of which he has knowledge from personal observation.

Eventually, the term "martyr" was applied exclusively to those who died for their faith. Martyrdom, nonetheless, was always clearly distinguished from suicide or anything suggestive of suicide. According to St. Gregory of Nazianzus, it is mere rashness to seek death, but it is cowardly to refuse it. In the modern age, G.K. Chesterton has remarked that the Christian "must desire life like water and yet drink death like wine."

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that " [m]artyrdom is the supreme witness given to the truth of the faith: it means bearing witness even unto death" (no. 2473).

Islam also distinguishes martyrdom from suicide. Its tradition clearly and forcefully condemns suicide. Accordingly, the Koran says: "Do not kill yourselves, Allah is merciful to you, but he that does that through wickedness and injustice shall be burnt in fire." Similarly, the prophet Abu Huraira states: "The one who throws himself from a mountain and kills himself will be eternally in hell."

At the same time, according to Islamic tradition, anyone who kills himself for the sake of Allah is doing something not suicidal but sacrificial, and therefore is considered a martyr.Here Islam and Christianity part company.

"Therefore, the one who blows up the enemies of Allah by blowing up himself as well cannot be considered a suicide, and he is, Allah willing, a martyr." The author cites a number of Islamic authorities, including the Koran, and comes to a conclusion that is not only non-Christian in its essence, but one that should be shocking to Christians:

Through the above evidence from the [Koran] and the Sunnah, it is clearly demonstrated that the "Islamic-bombing-assault' or the 'martyrdom operation' is Islamically legitimate as far as it is within the framework of Islam. The concept of martyrdom (shahada) in Islam is to be understood in light of the Islamic concept of the Holy Struggle (jihad).

The meaning of martyrdom is radically different for Christians and Muslims. This difference is based on how, according to their religious beliefs, they look upon each other. The Christian sees the Muslim, as well as anyone else, as his neighbor whom he is commanded to love. The Muslim quite easily, and consistent with the Koran, sees his fellow Christian as an infidel. In this purview, it is at least theoretically possible, given the Islamic tradition, for a Muslim to involve himself in a "martyrdom operation" in which he, together with Christians and other "infidels," are killed (in the name of Allah, to be sure). This is certainly an important concern and can be a serious obstacle in the path of peaceful relations between Muslims and Christians. Inter-religious dialogue is most desirable, but its basis must be in truth and not mere wishful thinking.

Christians do not seek martyrdom. They seek love, friendship, peace, and the God who has instituted these values and has commanded their adoption. They also hope that their Muslim neighbors will reciprocate in kind. They do not desire martyrdom either for themselves or for their Muslim neighbors. But they will accept martyrdom rather than renounce their faith. In this way, the Christian is a witness, as the word "martyr" suggests. But he is primarily a witness to love, and, like His Holiness John Paul II, a witness to hope. London — A few hours into the 10th day of Ramadan, Rabbi Natan Levy was swapping fasting tips with a Muslim fellow passenger aboard the London Northern train line.

Specifically, they were debating the merits of having a very large meal before sunrise — a technique adopted by many observant Muslims who are trying to cope with a whole month of daytime fasts on a continent whose summers afford more than 14 hours of sunlight every day.

“We agreed better to eat less,” said Levy, 40, who is the interfaith and social action consultant of Britain’s Jewish Board of Deputies.

Like the Muslim passenger, Levy was speaking out of experience: This year, Levy joined Muslims around the world in their fast.

Levy told JTA that he decided to “engage Ramadan as a committed Jew” to promote “a deeper conversation within the Jewish community on how we move beyond demonization of Islam.”

The decision to fast, he said, was partly born of frustration at how “the Anglo-Jewish community appears to live in a state I could only call deeply distrustful of anything Islamic.”

Last week, a congregant in Levy’s local shul ran home in fear because she found herself sitting next to a Muslim guest for the Kabbalat Shabbat service, he recalled.

“This was a shameful moment for us, but not a surprising one,” he said. “My daughter has not been taught a single fact about Ramadan at her Jewish School. The fasting is simply a touchstone toward a deeper conversation.”

But at a time when Islamist militants are emerging as a serious threat to the physical safety of European Jews, Levy says that he does not want to appear naïve.

“There are elephants in the room between Jews and Muslim, scary ones,” he said. “But I don’t think that we can start discussing elephants, until we realize there is more that unites Jews and Muslims than divides us.”

Some of the fear, however, is rooted in reality, Levy wrote in an email answering JTA’s questions.

“Rockets are now falling upon my family in Israel as I write this, launched by a terrorist organization whose manifesto justifies its actions with hateful and violent quotes from the Quran,” Levy wrote.

Speaking at the Dialogue Symposium held in İstanbul on Friday, the representative of the Vatican in İstanbul and the spiritual leader of the Latin Catholic Community, Louis Pelatre, said that some states abuse religion for wars although all religions prohibit killing and war.“We have to fight against prejudices in order to prevent the use of religion in wars,” said Pelatre as he commended the interfaith dialogue efforts of Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen.

The Intercultural Dialogue Platform (KADİP) of the Journalists and Writers Foundation (GYV) organized the symposium together with the Turkish Catholic Christian Community in the guesthouse of the St. Etienne Church in Yeşilköy.As participants agreed that all religions prohibit killing, GYV Vice President Cemal Uşak said religions have become a source of conflict throughout history while they should be the guarantor of peace and tranquility in terms of their essence. 

According to him, some people focus on differences and lead to conflicts based on religion. Instead, Uşak suggested people focus on the common points among people and faiths. Noting that he found the symposium very meaningful, Uşak said, “If our faiths and work on interfaith dialogue do not help to ease the pain, we have to question our faiths.”

The theme of the symposium was “Being concerned about the other” this year. In the previous years, issues such as similarities and common values in Islam and Christianity, “Being a Pilgrim” and “Being a Foreigner” had been debated by the participants.

The head of KADİP, Professor Suat Yıldırım; the former mufti of İstanbul, Professor Mustafa Çağrıcı; and a member of the French Institute for Anatolian Studies (IFEA), Dr. Alberto Ambrosio, were some of the participants in the symposium.Delivering the opening speech of the symposium, Professor Yıldırım said people suffer from a lack of communication despite living side by side.

Referring to the first initiative of Islamic scholar Gülen in 1993 to promote interfaith dialogue, Yıldırım said KADİP was also established with a similar aim. “For almost 20 years we have been acting towards this end and serving peace,” he said.

Stating that Gülen was criticized and that certain rumors about him were circulated in Turkey when he first initiated interfaith dialogue, Yıldırım said that “great leaders are people who do useful things by taking risks, and Gülen did what his religion required him to do.”Providing examples from the accusations hurled against Gülen during the Feb. 28, 1997 coup era, Yıldırım said that when Gülen was tried on the grounds that he had established a terrorist organization, the then-representative of the Vatican in İstanbul, Monsignor George Maroviç went to the court as a witness.

According to Yıldırım, this incident is a rare example in which a minority in Turkey showed the courage [to defend Gülen]. Maroviç said they got to know the smiling face of Islam through Gülen. According to him, Maroviç's testimony was one of the greatest examples of being concerned about another.

There is great danger when prominent Catholic and Christian leaders proclaim that Allah is the same as Jehovah and that followers of Islam value the United States Constitutional liberties more than Sharia law.  Sadly, many Americans will blindly follow their lead to the spiritual and political empowerment of Islamists.

Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the archbishop of New York, made his first appearance at a mosque in New York City. The StatenIsland Advance reported:

• “You love God, we love God and he is the same God,” the cardinal said of the Muslim and Roman Catholic faiths.
• Cardinal Dolan stressed that Catholics and Muslims have a mutual love of the United States and of the religious freedom that this country affords.  Your love of marriage and family, your love of children and babies, your love of freedom — religious freedom particularly– your defense of life, your desire for harmony and unity and your care for others, your care for God’s creation and your care for those who are in need,” the cardinal said, were Islamic values also shared by Catholics and areas where there could be mutual cooperation.

Is it possible that Cardinal Dolan is unaware that the largest Islamic organizations in the country are fighting to stop dozens of state legislatures from banning Sharia law from being considered in their courts?  

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) and Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) are fervently fighting for Sharia law to be unrestricted in the United States.  Is it possible Cardinal Dolan is unaware that many provisions of Sharia law are antithetical to the rights afforded under the United States Constitution?  Or is this the “religious freedom” that Cardinal Dolan believes Islamists should have in America?

Unlike the followers of Islam who mock the Holy Trinity, Christians believe Jesus is the Son of God and believe in God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.  Not so for the followers of Islam.

The Quran 004.171 states “O People of the Book! Commit no excesses in your religion: Nor say of Allah aught but the truth. Christ Jesus the son of Mary was (no more than) a messenger of Allah, and His Word, which He bestowed on Mary, and a spirit proceeding from Him: so believe in Allah and His messengers. Say not “Trinity” : desist: it will be better for you: for Allah is one Allah: Glory be to Him: (far exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all things in the heavens and on earth. And enough is Allah as a Disposer of affairs.”  Additionally, the Quran 5:17 states “In blasphemy indeed are those that say that Allah is Christ the son of Mary. Say: “Who then hath the least power against Allah, if His will were to destroy Christ the son of Mary, his mother, and all every – one that is on the earth? For to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between. He createth what He pleaseth. For Allah hath power over all things.”

Sahih Muslim, The Book of Jihad and Expedition Book 019, Number 4366:  It has been narrated by ‘Umar b. al-Khattib that he heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) say: I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslim.

The Bible proclaims numerous times “The Lord God, the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob” in Genesis 31:53, Genesis 32:9, Genesis 50:24, Exodus 3:6, Exodus 3:15, Exodus 3:16, Exodus 4:5, Deuteronomy 9:5, Matthew 22:32, Mark 12:26, Luke 13:28, Luke 20:37, Acts 3:13 and Acts 7:32.  The scriptures do not include Ishmael in this proclamation.  Ishmael was the unwanted son of Abraham and Sarah, wrongfully conceived with a concubine.  Ishmael is the father of the Arab nations most of which are populated by followers of Islam.

Is Islam Truly Standing ‘Shoulder to Shoulder’ With Other Religions? HT: AmericanThinker.

Recently, Christian Bible translators considered changes that would make Christian scriptures more palatable to Muslim audiences. Instead of “in the name of the Father,” they put forth the phrase “in the name of Allah.” “Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit” was reformulated as “Cleanse them in the name of Allah, his Messiah, and his Holy Spirit.” In addition, Isa a prophet of Allah in the Koran who is superseded by Mohammed, has been equated with Jesus in the Christian Bible. Of course, many Christians view this as blasphemy.
The push for biblical changes came in large part from Christian leaders of the “Insider Movement” who endeavor to reach Muslim communities by encouraging Muslims to embrace Christianity by “worshipping Jesus or Isa in the mosque.” This is an accommodation to enable Muslims to follow Jesus, yet not explicitly express Christian faith. The “Insider Movement” has been gaining steam for the past decade and advances the idea of the blending of faith rather than complete conversion to Christianity.
It remains to be seen if these modifications or conscious accommodations to Islam, created by proselytizing Christians, threaten the integrity of Christian beliefs. However, a more significant threat to Christianity has existed for years in the form of ongoing, aggressive interfaith activities spearheaded by Muslims who use this religious context to shield their ulterior motive: spreading the supremacy of Islam.
This deceptive undertaking is part of the phased plan for “civilizational jihad” put forth by the Muslim Brotherhood in “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Group in North America.” Muslims have been encouraged to form coalitions under the guise of cooperation in order to “absorb” Western culture. They have been encouraged to “take from people the best they have” and “understand the benefit of agreement, cooperation, and alliance.” This effort has translated into establishing so-called “interfaith” groups and ostensibly fostering “interfaith” activities. The problem has been that all cooperation and accommodations are one-way, favoring Muslims and Islam.
One recent example is the interfaith coalition, “Shoulder-to-Shoulder,” based in Washington, D.C. Coalition members include the Islamic Society of North American (ISNA), the Arab American Institute (AAI), the Universal Muslim Association of America (UMAA), and 25 national Christian and Jewish religious groups.
Yet, the Islamic groups have long been engaged in anti-Western activities. ISNA, an umbrella organization for Muslim Brotherhood fronts in America, was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation Hamas funding trial. The Arab American Institute, an organization dedicated to increasing the influence of Arab-American Muslims, has endeavored to limit the surveillance activity of law enforcement. UMMA’s stated mission is to advance the social, economic, and political affairs of the Muslim community in America and to dispel misinformation about Islam and Muslims. The organization has lobbied the U.S. government and provided guidelines for the removal of obstacles to zakat or “charitable giving,” contributions to the funding of jihad required of all Muslims and Muslim businesses and mandated by shariah. UMMA has diligently worked to curtail U.S. law enforcement and intelligence procedures that obstruct zakat.
The Shoulder-to-Shoulder interfaith coalition, whose motto is “Standing with American Muslims, upholding American values,” was founded to address alleged bias against Muslims. This is particularly ironic given ISNA’s history of anti-Semitism and promotion of and financial support for terrorism. Christian, Jewish, and Muslim religious leaders who are members of the coalition venture into the community to speak out on “anti-Muslim bigotry,” work with Congress to fight “anti-Muslim” sentiment, and seek media coverage for their work against alleged “Islamophobia.” With the rampant persecution and murder of Christians and Jews in predominately Muslim countries, it is telling that no attempt is made by the coalition members to combat hatred of Jews and anti-Christian attitudes expressed by Muslim clerics and government officials in Muslim countries. Comments from Muslim officials in Islamic countries that “Islam is at war with the West” draw no criticism or even attention from Islamic members of these supposed “interfaith” coalitions.
Thus, paradoxically, while Muslims continue to burn churches and attack Christians in the Middle East and North Africa, Shoulder-to-Shoulder offers strategies to fight controversies such as building a mosque at Ground Zero. The group rails against threats to burn the Koran and fights legislation that seeks to preserve the Constitution and prevent the implementation of shariah in America. Despite the group’s routine portrayals of Islam and Muslims as universal victims, most of the religious violence in the world is actually carried out by Muslims who are doctrinally obligated to attack nonbelievers.

On the fourth night of violence, youths torched over 30 cars in 15 neighborhoods along with a restaurant in Skogas, south of Stockholm. Three law enforcement officers were injured, police spokesperson Kjell Lindgren reported.

Stockholm firefighters were busy throughout the night, saying they had “never before seen so many fires raging at the same time.” Some 90 blazes were reported in total, most of them reportedly caused by the rioters. Still, the fourth night of violence was relatively quiet compared to the previous three, RT's Peter Oliver reported from Stockholm.

Leaders of immigrant communities were out on the streets in a bid to stop young people from rioting. Despite their efforts, as soon as the night fell, groups of arsonists took to the streets to set cars on fire. RT's Peter Oliver witnessed rioters throwing stones at police and journalists alike.

Civil disorder in Stockholm started on Sunday, when police shot and killed a 69-old-man in his apartment after he confronted officers with a machete; the unrest has since continued throughout week.

Community leaders insist that a main reason for the violence is the high rate of unemployment in immigrant communities, particularly in the suburb of Husby near central Stockholm, one of the worst affected by the nighttime violence, Peter Oliver reported.

Although Sweden’s unemployment rate is below the EU average, joblessness among those under 25 has reached nearly 25 percent. The RT crew in Stockholm noted that a majority of those taking part in the violence are young.

Parents of the rampaging teenagers and community religious leaders are now spending sleepless nights on the street in an effort to prevent their children from wreaking havoc.

For years, Sweden – one of Europe’s most tranquil countries, famous for its attractive immigration policies and generous welfare system – has been accepting an influx of immigrants, which now make up about 15 per cent of its population. These migrants have failed to integrate into Swedish society, and are only in the country to enjoy the country’s social benefits system, Swedish journalist Ingrid Carlqvist told RT.

“The problem is not from the Swedish government or from the Swedish people,” the editor in chief of Dispatch International said. “The last 20 years or so, we have seen so many immigrants coming to Sweden that really don’t like Sweden. They do not want to integrate, they do not want to live in [Swedish] society: Working, paying taxes and so on.”

“The people come here now because they know that Sweden will give them money for nothing. They don’t have to work, they don’t have to pay taxes – they can just stay here and get a lot of money. That is really a problem,” Carlqvist added.

“The police could do so much, [instead] they have told the public that they mean to do as little as possible. But they could go there and use water cannons, they could not let people out onto the streets at night. There are so many things they could do within the law – but they don’t do it,” she said.

Young Muslims who enjoy tolerance, social institutions and welfare while living in Sweden nevertheless refuse to integrate into the West, Gerolf Annemans told RT. Annemans is the parliamentary leader of Vlaams Belang (‘Flemish Interest’), a Belgian far-right nationalist political party.

“They [Muslim youths] have always sought excuse to show that they are not agreeing with the basic values of Western society,” Annemans said, pointing to the recent cases of the Boston Marathon bombing in the US and yesterday’s beheading of a British soldier in the UK.

“It’s always the same problem. There is a massive refusal by Muslim youngsters of the basics of Western society... and they take any excuse whatsoever to show that with violence – that is where the problem is,” he said.Hmmmm.....“Violence does not build up the kingdom of God, the kingdom of humanity.
