French Arrest four Hezbollah operatives in Paris on U.S. Arrest warrants.
French Arrest four Hezbollah operatives in Paris on U.S. Arrest warrants. (albawabaeg).
French authorities reportedly detained four Lebanese based on an arrest warrant issued by the United States, local daily As-Safir said Friday.
The newspaper identified the four men as Mohamad Noureddine, Mazen Al-Atat, Ali Zbib and Osama Fahs.
The report said that the French authorities did not inform Lebanese authorities of the arrest until Fahs' relatives in Paris reported him missing to French police. This prompted the latter to contact the Lebanese embassy in the capital to inform it of the detention of four of its nationals.
The daily added that preliminary information disclosed that French authorities had no charges against any of the four men, but it briefed Lebanese authorities on a U.S. arrest warrant issued against them.
Noureddine was targeted in sanctions by the U.S. Treasury Department Thursday, along with another Lebanese Hamdi Zaher, for his alleged activity in money laundering at the behest of Hezbollah.
The department targeted Noureddine and Zaher for providing financial services to Hezbollah, which the U.S. has designated a terrorist organization.
Treasury claims Noureddine has laundered money through his company called Trade Point International S.A.R.L. He is accused of using his network across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East to provide money laundering, bulk cash shipment, black market currency exchange and other financial services to clients, including members of Hezbollah.
The sanctions freeze any assets the two men have under U.S. jurisdiction and prohibit U.S. citizens from doing business with them.
The U.S. has sanctioned more than 100 individuals and entities associated with Hezbollah.

Saint Denis Police terror raid near Paris ends with at least two killed, seven arrested. (France24).
A major police operation outside Paris ended Wednesday with two people killed, including a female suspect who detonated a suicide vest. Seven people were arrested in the raid, which was targeting the suspected mastermind of the Paris attacks.
Latest developments:
Police launched the raids in Saint-Denis, a suburb of Paris, before dawn on Wednesday in an operation police and judicial sources said was targeting suspected Paris attacks mastermind Abdelhamid Abaaoud. He and several other suspects are holed up inside an apartment building. A helicopter was flying overhead and police have cordoned off the area nearby. A female suspect blew herself up during the raid, police said.
French investigators said Tuesday that they were looking for a second suspect in the attacks after video footage confirmed that there were three men in a car used during the shootings at bars and restaurants in the city.
President François Hollande will meet in Washington with US President Barack Obama on November 24 and then with Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 26 in Moscow to discuss cooperation in the fight against the IS group.
France conducted air strikes against Islamic State group targets in the Syrian city of Raqqa for the third night in a row.
Prosecutors have identified five of the seven dead assailants involved in the attacks, while a search is under way for 26-year-old Belgian Salah Abdeslam.
Prosecutor François Molins, visiting Saint Denis with Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, told reporters the raid was conducted following a phone tip-off. Two people, including a woman who detonated a suicide vest, were killed. At this stage it was impossible to confirm the identity of the people in the apartment, said Molins.
Police dog named Diesel, a 7-year-old Belgian Malinois SWAT team assault dog was “killed by terrorists” during the Saint Denis raid. Read the full story here.

Paris supermarket gunman Coulibaly ‘acted on orders’ from US-based email service.
Paris supermarket gunman Coulibaly ‘acted on orders’ from US-based email service. (France24).
Amedy Coulibaly, the terrorist who killed a policewoman and four shoppers at a kosher supermarket in Paris in January, received orders for the killing spree via email, a French media report revealed Tuesday.
The message allegedly instructed Coulibaly to pick targets “on the outskirts [of Paris] if there is a problem in the centre” and to film his actions.
BFMTV reported that the sender also suggested that he would look after Coulibaly’s girlfriend, Hayat Boumeddiene.
The 26-year-old woman is believed to have fled to Syria a few days before the Paris attacks.
The mysterious email to Coulibaly, moved to his computer’s trash folder as instructed, came from an account from a US-based email service, the report said. Read the full story here.

53 year old Jewish Man Beaten Up Outside Paris Synagogue
53 year old Jewish Man Beaten Up Outside Paris Synagogue.(SP).
An investigation is underway in France to track down a group of men who allegedly attacked a 53-year-old Jewish man on Saturday as he was leaving the Saint-Ouen synagogue in the Seine-Saint-Denis department north of Paris.
The man, who owns a supermarket and has lived in the area for 15 years, said he was leaving the synagogue with a Rabbi at around 1:20 pm on Saturday when he was pursued by a man aged around 25.
As he walked along Rue du Docteur Bauer the man following him repeatedly called him “dirty Jew”. When he failed to react the attacker spat at him and when he told the man to stop, things turned ugly. “He head-butted me, I was bleeding everywhere,” the victim was quoted as saying by Le Parisien.
He then spoke of how he tried to defend himself before the attacker was joined by two other men.
“They beat me up. They kicked me in the leg, back and that’s when the first attacker took out a knife. I heard the others saying ‘Go on, stab him, Jew’,” he recalled.
He said he then jumped on his attacker to get him to drop the knife and hit him as people shouted ‘call the police!’ The attackers eventually fled after kicking him in the stomach. More here in French.

Three Al Jazeera journalists detained for unlawfully flying drone over Paris.
Three Al Jazeera journalists detained for unlawfully flying drone over Paris.(RT).
Three Al Jazeera journalists have been detained in Paris for operating a drone in an urban area. The arrests follow sightings of unmanned aerial vehicles at sensitive locations in the French capital this week.
All three journalists are foreign nationals, Paris prosecutors' spokesperson Agnes Thibault-Lecuivre said.
Associated Press reported that the journalists, found near the Bois de Boulogne woodland in western Paris, were aged 70, 54 and 36.
"The first was piloting the drone, the second was filming and the third [was] watching," a judicial source told AFP news agency.
The source said there has been no evidence that the journalists were involved in the drone appearances near the Eiffel Tower, the US embassy, Place de la Concorde, or the Montparnasse Tower – the tallest skyscraper in the French capital – over the past two nights. At least five UAVs were spotted.
Drone owners require municipal permits to fly UAVs over densely-populated areas, and rule breakers face punishments of a year in prison or a €75,000 ($85,000).
While Monday’s and Tuesday’s aerial trespassers were civilian, as opposed to military-grade models, police still said the flights were an “organized provocation” that “disrupted the surveillance chain and protection of these sites.”
Officers were unable to capture any of the UAVs, and authorities say they are unsure if the flights were coordinated, or who may be behind them.
Last month a drone caused worry after being sighted flying over the Elysée Palace, the residence of President François Hollande - following dozens of sightings of drones over nuclear plants and military installations.
Officials with Qatar-based Al-Jazeera did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Hmmmm......Journalists who don't read papers and don't know it's a criminal offence? Sounds like a Muslim Brotherhood 'fairy-tale' to me.
Ongoing Unidentified Drone mystery in Paris sparks security scare
Ongoing Unidentified Drone mystery in Paris sparks security scare.(Dreuze.Info).[GoogleTranslate].
French police are hunting for clues as to who carried out night drone flights over landmarks in Paris.
The unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) were spotted at five different locations including the US Embassy and the Eiffel Tower but the operators and their motives remain a mystery.
The first drone was spotted just after midnight and the last around 6am local time, sparking a massive police search, but they were unable to determine the exact number of drones sighted. The capital is on high alert following the attacks in January.
“For the moment, what we’ve seen since these drone flights over nuclear plants began at the end of October, is that there are no projectiles. These drones are not crashing into the ground either,” explained a journalist specialised in military issues, Jean-Marc Tanguy.
“So these drones are being used by people who know how to operate them, though we can’t decipher whether we’re talking about professionals or geeks. It could just be teenagers who are capable of operating these little engines that you can be found in many shops.”
In October French police arrested three people near a nuclear reactor who were found in possession of a drone.(See Video above).

French president lied to PM Netanyahu about security - buildings on route not inspected, bus not armored
Le Monde: French president lied to Netanyahu about security - buildings on route not inspected, bus not armored. (IMRA).
[Dr. Aaron Lerner - IMRA: Mind boggling. The only group that knew in advance the probable route of the event were the terrorists.
And yet, the French put the leaders of the world in a bus that was not armored and made it easy for an assassin to take aim by choosing " vehicle without tinted windows so that the citizens walking alongside the vehicle would be able to see them" !!! Add to that - "the route was not examined by security guards in advance"!!!]
Netanyahu feared for his safety in Paris march Le Monde report says prime minister was highly nervous before joining world leaders in march against terrorism, expressed concern over lack of armor on bus.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had feared for his safety and expressed concerns about the security arrangements made for the massive anti-terrorism rally in Paris last month following the attacks at the Charlie Hebdo offices and at a kosher supermarket in Paris, French daily newspaper Le Monde reported over the weekend.
French video footage which captured Netanyahu waiting for a bus to take him to the rally, cutting in line and nervously talking on the phone, has been cast in a new light after details emerged about the behind-the-scenes drama of the world leaders' participation in the march.
According to the report, Netanyahu stood at the corner of a yard, and put on a bulletproof vest with the help of one of his bodyguards. A French security guard working for the president then approached President Francois Hollande in order to give him instructions in the event of a security incident. "I'll be right in front of you, don't move around," the guard told the French president.
The French report claimed that Netanyahu was very nervous, and that he had expressed his concerns to the French president. "Did you check everything? Is the bus armored and bulletproof? Have the buildings along the route been checked?" Netanyahu asked. Hollande replied in the affirmative. However, according to the report, the bus was not armored and the route was not examined by security guards in advance.
The report further claimed that the Israeli prime minister expressed his dissatisfaction over the fact that the windows of the bus were plain glass, saying it exposed the leaders to danger. However, French officials had made it clear that they had deliberately chosen a vehicle without tinted windows so that the citizens walking alongside the vehicle would be able to see them.
Netanyahu, the magazine claimed, ignored instructions from the French guards and chose to surround himself with three security guards, unlike the other leaders who were each accompanied by a single guard.
The anti-terrorism march was held at noon on a Sunday. According to the magazine, Netanyahu informed the French he would attend the rally a day before it was scheduled to begin. The French president then reportedly asked his staff to contact Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. At around midnight, Abbas received a phone call from Hollande.
"Mahmoud, you know that I never ask anything of you. You have to come here. Your presence, together with Netanyahu, will make this march a rally of peace," the French president told Abbas.
The French, Ynet has learned, were not very enthusiastic about Netanyahu's participation in the rally. Ynet learned that the country's officials were angry that the prime minister attended the rally with two senior ministers and an MK - while most countries only sent one senior official, and created difficulties for the Israeli delegation.
Furthermore, the French Foreign Ministry had preferred that Netanyahu would not attend, as "his arrival could raise difficulties," Channel 2 television reported then.
The French media, meanwhile, reported that Netanyahu's arrival in the French capital could divert the spotlight from the fight against terror, and instead center the attention on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Hmmm........Incroyable mais pourtant vrai!

Video - Islamist Politician Demands Execution of Algerian Author Kamel Daoud for Blasphemy in His Book
In December, several Algerian TV channels interviewed Islamist politician Abdelfattah Hamadache and author Kamel Daoud, after Hamadache called Daoud to be put to death for blasphemy following the publication of his novel.
In a program aired on El-Bilad TV, Hamadache called Daoud a "deviant creature" and a "collaborator," and said: "I have the right to demand that he be executed." On programs aired on Khabar TV and Echorouk TV, Daoud defended his writing and said that while discussion and debate are welcome, violence and the sanctioning of killing are not.

"Once Upon A Time in Paris" - Obama's absence a moral abdication of responsibility/Leadership.
"Once Upon A Time in Paris" - Obama's absence a moral abdication of responsibility/Leadership. (Fortuna'scorner).
The largest gathering of French citizens in recorded history; larger than the celebrations in Paris when WWII ended; and, the POTUS who is a Nobel Prize winner was nowhere to be found.
Neither he, nor VPOTUS had any scheduled appointments yesterday — it was widely reported — yet, all the White House could do is send a lame duck Attorney General who treats terrorism as work place violence and a legal matter.
Moreover, it has been widely reported that Mr. Holder did not even stay for the festivities; and, the U.S. was left being represented by a campaign contributor/Ambassador that very few Americans have even heard of. This was a moral abdication of leadership.
The foreign leader who showed the most courage and leadership over the weekend, was Egypt’s President Sisi — who called for a reformation in the Islamic world. Now, if the Nobel Committee and Hollywood want to applaud someone — Egypt’s Sisi is an obvious choice.
The new Congress should invite Sisi to address a joint session. That would be a powerful message — and, the right one to send.
It was a photograph printed, broadcast and tweeted around the globe: The front line of Sunday’s Paris unity march. There was Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel and President Mahmoud Abbas of the Palestinian Authority. Between them were the French president, the German chancellor and the leader of Mali, arm in arm.
Glaringly missing were President Obama, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. or Secretary of State John Kerry.
Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. was in Paris for an antiterorrism meeting, but he didn’t march. The United States ambassador, Jane D. Hartley, did march, but her presence was not widely noted in a crowd of more than a million people that included 40 world leaders.
“Not an excuse in universe can explain why US failed to send to Paris a more visible rep. than Holder. MIAs BHO/Mrs BHO/Kerry/Biden,” tweeted Aaron David Miller, a former State Department official who has worked for both Democratic and Republican administrations.
Conservatives were uniformly brutal, as expected, with some snidely pointing out that Mr. Obama did make room on his schedule to meet the N.B.A. champions, the San Antonio Spurs, at the White House on Monday.
The White House declined to say whether Mr. Obama or Mr. Biden had considered marching. One administration official noted that the president had issued several public statements about the terrorist attacks, made a condolence trip to the French Embassy in Washington and had spoken on the phone with President François Hollande of France.
A senior State Department official said that Mr. Kerry couldn’t attend because was in India meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a trip that had long been scheduled. However, Mr. Kerry said on Monday that he would fly to Paris this week in a gesture of support for the French government.
On CNN, Fareed Zakaria took a nuanced view of what he said was a White House mistake. The absence in Paris of a high-ranking American leader, he said, highlighted that the fight against Islamic terrorism is “not all about America.” - Michael D. Shear and Steve Kenny Hmmm.....The truth is Obama can't back down from his UN Statement.
‘Their Hands Are Covered in Blood:’ Bennett Denounces Presence of PA Pres Abbas and Qatar at Paris Anti-Terror Rally
‘Their Hands Are Covered in Blood:’ Bennett Denounces Presence of PA Pres Abbas and Qatar at Paris Anti-Terror Rally.
Israel Economy Minister Naftali Bennett has issued a stinging criticism of the presence of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, as well as other Arab leaders he deemed to be complicit in terrorism, at today’s anti-terrorism rally in Paris. “Their hands are covered in blood,” Bennett declared in an interview with Army Radio in Israel.
As well as Abbas, Bennett singled out Gulf emirate Qatar for its support of the Palestinian Islamist Hamas organization. “It’s hypocritical of those same Qataris and Arabs who are financing terrorism to come and demonstrate as if against terrorism,” Bennett told a Jewish youth group in the French capital. “I don’t accept this.”
Bennett also said there was no difference between terrorism directed against a Jewish community in the West Bank and that on the streets of Paris. “When an Islamist murderer kills the Fogel family in Itamar, when Abu Mazen [Abbas] finances terrorists who afterwards go and blow themselves up in Tel Aviv, it’s no different from those same terrorists in Paris,” Bennett, the leader of Israel’s nationalist Jewish Home Party, said. “We won’t let 2015 turn into 1938.”
French-Israeli artist and political activist Ron Agam told The Algemeiner that Qatar’s enormous financial influence in France was blunting the response of the French authorities to Doha’s role in supporting terrorist groups. Qatar, he said, owns the iconic Paris St Germain soccer team and has investments in France worth $6.5 billion in leading companies like Total Oil and Veolia, and enjoys as well privileged access to French Muslims through its Al Jazeera news broadcaster. “The Qataris have a privileged relationship with former President Nicolas Sarkozy, and all of the main French politicians are regularly invited to their embassy in Paris and to Doha,” Agam said.
As far as Abbas was concerned, Agam said, “France will soon realize that he is more interested in prolonging the struggle of the Palestinians than negotiating in good faith with Israel.”
The presence of the prime minister of Turkey, which actively backs Hamas, also didn’t pass unnoticed. “There they are, right in the first row in the march against terrorism, #MahmoudAbbas and #AhmetDavutoÄŸlu. What a joke,” said Middle East Forum president and historian Daniel Pipes on Twitter.
Meanwhile, Israeli watchdog Palestinian Media Watch (PMW) issued a reminder that Abbas himself continues to glorify acts of terror against Israelis.
“Just last week, five terrorists, who in total recently killed 10 Israelis, were included on a list of ‘Martyrs of 2014′ who ‘ascended’ to Heaven, published in the bi-weekly Al-Asima distributed with the official Palestinian Authority daily,” PMW reported.
“The terrorists on the list, who were called ‘Shahids‘ (Martyrs) and thereby achieve the highest status possible in Islam, included the synagogue murderers who recently killed 5, three terrorists who killed 5 by running them over with cars and an excavator, and the terrorist who attempted to assassinate Rabbi Yehuda Glick,” PMW added.
Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama’s absence from the rally was also the subject of criticism. Wrote Forbes magazine commentator Stuart Anderson, “In a statement, President Obama said, ‘And I think it’s important for us to understand, France is our oldest ally. I want the people of France to know that the United States stands with you today, stands with you tomorrow.’ But he won’t be standing with them on Sunday.”
Rabbi Abraham Cooper, associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, told The Algemeiner that Obama’s decision not to attend was “disappointing, as it’s a missed opportunity to build a momentum among people of all faiths and among people of none to fight against Islamist terrorism.”
Cooper praised French President Francois Hollande for showing leadership at the Paris rally.
“I give a lot of credit to Hollande for calling out anti-Semitism when media wasn’t, and for walking at the head of the line, at the rally,” Cooper said. “Hollande created a moment of solidarity around the world in the fight against Islamist terrorists. He stepped up and showed leadership.”

Abbas at head of the anti-terror march, PA, PLO and Fatah continue to glorify terrorists who murder Israeli civilians
Abbas' hypocrisy: Abbas participated in the anti-terror march in France, but PA, PLO and Fatah continue to glorify terrorists who murder Israeli civilians. HT: Palwatch.
by Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik
Today, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas participated in the anti-terror march in France following the last few days' horrific terror attacks in Paris, which the PA has officially condemned. Reporting on a conversation between Abbas and French President Francois Hollande, the official PA news agency wrote that:
"Abbas condemned all terrorist actions that claim innocent lives, whether they are Christians, Jews, Muslims or followers of other religions, stressing the sacredness of human life."
[WAFA, official PA news agency, English edition, Jan. 10, 2015]
However, as Palestinian Media Watch has documented, the PA and Fatah continue to glorify acts of terror against Israeli civilians.
Just last week, five terrorists, who in total recently killed 10 Israelis, were included on a list of "Martyrs of 2014" who "ascended" to Heaven, published in the bi-weekly Al-Asima distributed with the official Palestinian Authority daily.
The terrorists on the list, who were called "Shahids" (Martyrs) and thereby achieve the highest status possible in Islam, included the synagogue murderers who recently killed 5, three terrorists who killed 5 by running them over with cars and an excavator and the terrorist who attempted to assassinate Rabbi Yehuda Glick. See descriptions of their attacks below.
Another article described the terrorists as having died while "carrying out Martyrdom-seeking (Istish'had) operations."
Al-Asima lists as its "general supervisor" Othman Abu Gharbieh, who is a member of Fatah's Central Committee and the Secretary General of the Popular National Conference of Jerusalem, the PLO institution that publishes this bi-weekly.
A few days ago, Palestinian Media Watch reported on this same bi-weekly's glorification of a terrorist who stabbed two soldiers and its encouragement to Palestinians to carry out similar attacks "against Zionists."
The following are the examples of the PA glorifying the terrorist murderers in the PLO-published supplement to the official PA daily:
"The [PA's] Islamic-Christian Council for Jerusalem and the Holy Places published its annual report for 2014, which documents the most prominent Israeli violations and attacks on Jerusalem, its holy places, citizens and buildings. The contents of the report are as follows: ... Attacks on the residents of Jerusalem:
Over the course of this year, 15 Martyrs (Shahids) ascended [to Heaven]
- 2 at the hands of the settler gangs, 8 wounded by enemy fire and 5 [killed after] carrying out Martyrdom-seeking (Istish'had) operations (i.e., terror attacks) in Jerusalem."
[Al-Asima, bi-weekly distributed with official PA daily, Jan. 5, 2015]
"The number of Martyrs (Shahids) from Jerusalem has thus risen during 2014, to 15, 8 of whom ascended [to Heaven] after being wounded by occupation army fire - 2 by the settler gangs and 5 after carrying out self-sacrificing (Fida'i) operations (i.e., terror attacks) in the city."
[Al-Asima, bi-weekly distributed with official PA daily, Jan. 5, 2015]
Headline: "The Martyrs (Shahids) of Jerusalem in 2014"
(Terrorists who killed Israeli civilians included on the list, -Ed.):
"Martyr (Shahid) Amar Al-Natsheh, who ascended [to Heaven] while preparing an explosive device in the Al-Salam neighborhood of the village of Anata in occupied Jerusalem on June 15, 2014."
"In addition, the excavator Martyr, Martyr Muhammad Jaabis from the village of Jabal Mukkaber, ascended [to Heaven] this year. The occupation accused him of carrying out an operation (i.e., terror attack) which killed a rabbi and wounded others on Aug. 4, 2014."
"Martyr Mutaz Hijazi from the neighborhood of Al-Thuri in occupied Jerusalem, who carried out the shooting operation against the Jewish extremist rabbi, Yehuda Glick, on the morning of Oct. 30, 2014."
"Martyr Abd Al-Rahman Al-Shaloudi from the village of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, who was killed by the occupation after carrying out a car operation (i.e., terror attack by running people over with a car) which killed 2 settlers and injured others on Oct. 22, 2014."
"Martyr Ibrahim Al-Akari from the Shuafat refugee camp, who also carried out a car operation (i.e., terror attack by running people over with a car) that killed 3 settlers and injured others on Nov. 5, 2014." (The terrorists murdered 2, -Ed.)
"The cousin Martyrs, Ghassan and Uday Abu Jamal, who carried out an attack with knives and axes in a Jewish institute (i.e., synagogue), killing 6 settlers and wounding dozens on Nov. 18, 2014." (The terrorists murdered 4 worshippers and one police officer, -Ed.)
[Al-Asima, bi-weekly distributed with official PA daily, Jan. 5, 2015]
Notes:
Amar Al-Natsheh - Palestinian man killed when the explosive device he was preparing exploded in the village of Anata in East Jerusalem on June 15, 2014.
Muhammad Jaabis carried out a terror attack in Jerusalem on Aug. 4, 2014, when he deliberately ran over and killed Avraham Walles with an excavator and injured 5 others when he flipped over a bus. Jaabis was shot and killed on the scene.
Mutaz Hijazi - Islamic Jihad member and released prisoner who attempted to assassinate Rabbi Yehuda Glick, a prominent activist working to assure rights for Jews to visit and pray on the Temple Mount, on Oct. 29, 2014. The assassination attempt took place following a conference on establishing times and places for Jews to pray on the Temple Mount. Glick was seriously wounded in the attack; Hijazi was killed soon afterwards when he opened fire on an Israeli police force that was attempting to arrest him.
Abd Al-Rahman Al-Shaloudi - On Oct. 22, 2014, Al-Shaloudi deliberately ran over people waiting at a light-rail station in Jerusalem with his car, killing three-month-old Israeli-American Haya Zissel-Brown and Karen Mosquera, 22, of Ecuador, and injuring 7 others. He was shot by police while attempting to flee, and later died of his wounds.
Ibrahim Al-Akari - Hamas terrorist from East Jerusalem who carried out a terror attack by car on Nov. 5, 2014, at a light-rail station in Jerusalem, killing 2 and injuring at least 13 others. He was shot and killed by Israeli police officers who arrived on the scene.
