Trudeau airport in Montreal: investigation uncovers Airport staff who support ISIS ideology.

Trudeau airport in Montreal: investigation uncovers Airport staff who support ISIS ideology.(TVanouvelles). [GoogleTranslated].
"I know of (employees) who have arrived in Canada for only two months and are already working around planes or in the luggage room,"
The Montréal-Trudeau airport faces employees who show signs of radicalization, including one who has just been moved away from the runways because of the risks he presents. Here is what our Investigation Bureau and the show "JE", presented tonight, 7:30 pm, to TVA, in the last months.

Four employees had their access to the secured area withdrawn as a precautionary measure. At least three of these individuals (two still working at the airport) display a profile that worries the police.

Some have visited pro-Islamic (Daesh) websites, broadcast propaganda on social networks, consulted an abnormal amount of documents dealing with weapons or explosives.

Of the four security clearances that were withdrawn, one was issued after an airport employee with access to the secure area suggested similar bombing attacks in Paris on 13 November 2015.

Two other cards were confiscated because workers had psychiatric problems that put the safety of airport operations at risk.

"Concerning" It is the Montreal police who provide armed security at the airport. Six officers are on site at all times, but only three are available to patrol the entire terminal and they do not have a long weapon. In practice, it is often two agents that are mobile.

For the assistant director of the SPVM, Patrick Lalonde, one of the leaders of the fight against terrorism in Quebec, this information is "worrying". "The SPVM and its partners work every day to evaluate the threat and to counter it," he said.

Marcel Savard, formerly in charge of counter-terrorism at the Sûreté du Québec, was also worried about the situation. "What worries me," he said, "is the strategic position that these people occupy."

"We have a concern for all types of threats, radicalization is one of them," notes Pierre-Paul Pharand, vice-president of airport infrastructures at Aéroports de Montréal (ADM), in a report that will be presented tonight On the TVA waves.

This former soldier watches over the safety of the 16 million passengers who pass through the airport each year. He argues that his organization takes the situation seriously. "Whenever there are issues related to radicalization," he says, "we are acting with our partners"

"I know of (employees) who have arrived in Canada for only two months and are already working around planes or in the luggage room," said an airport employee who worked with some of these individuals and who Required anonymity.

According to our information, the national security squads have repeatedly addressed the "issue" of Montréal-Trudeau.

If formerly one counted on the good old technique of the physical spinning, the ways of doing are refined: the spinning is today digital. It is this new technology that has been used by our Investigative Office over the last eight months to identify individuals at risk.

"We need to look at the precise digital footprint of these individuals. It will allow us to know to what extent the individual is increasing and represents a risk, "explains Marcel Savard.

Our team targeted two ADM employees who presented disturbing profiles. A first employee occupied a strategic position giving him direct access to the runways and planes parked around the terminal building.

The police investigation showed that he regularly consulted pro-Daesh websites that tout the rise of the terrorist organization. By carrying out further research, investigators even discovered that he had acquired an impressive amount of books and documentation on military-caliber assault weapons. The authorities transferred the individual to another post, away from the runways, aircraft and outside the secure area.

Identified by the team of "JE", the second employee is native of Algeria. A few months ago, he was still living in the Montreal area. He has broadcast a Daesh propaganda video on his Facebook page. There are live killings being committed in the city of Mosul and passers-by being pulled off by members of the Islamic state.

The individual seems to support the ideas of the Muslim Brotherhood, an extremist organization that the experts consider to be the source of Islamic terrorism. Our research shows that the suspect supports the regime of the former president of Egypt, Islamist Mohamed Morsi, a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and driven out of power by the popular revolt in the summer of 2013.

The man appears to have left Canada for a few months, but appears to have links with employees of Aéroports de Montréal who have access to secure areas. Hmmm....As i said for years 'Airport staff is the weakest link in security' . More here.
The show "JE" will be presented tonight at 19:30 on TVA.

Arrested ISIS Terrorist Tells Feds He Has Jihadist Brothers in Mexico.

Arrested ISIS Terrorist Tells Feds He Has Jihadist Brothers in Mexico. (JudicialWatch).

An ISIS operative arrested and criminally charged in Ohio this month has confirmed that the terrorist group has cells in Mexico, according to federal authorities. Judicial Watch has reported this for years, documenting it in a series of articles as part of an ongoing investigation on the connection between drug cartels, corruption and terrorism on the southern border.

In fact, last spring Judicial Watch broke a story about an ISIS camp just a few miles from El Paso, Texas in an area known as “Anapra” situated just west of Ciudad Juárez in the Mexican state of Chihuahua.

Though a number of high-level law enforcement, intelligence and military sources on both sides of the border have provided Judicial Watch with evidence that Islamic terrorist cells are operating in Mexico, the Obama administration has publicly denied it, both to Judicial Watch and in mainstream media outlets. Now we have a terrorism suspect in custody proudly affirming it. Read the full story here.

Authorities intercepted a phone conversation between two jihadists arranging the details of the delivery of 4 fake passports produced in Bulgaria and worth EUR 300 each.

Investigators say in the call between Ali Awat Mahmod and Abdul Rahman Nauroz, the latter said two suspected Ansar Al Islam members were ready to take "7 doves" ("dove" is used as a synonym of "falsified documents").

Australian Boy, 16, arrested over 'Anzac Day terror plot' was in De-radicalization program. (Smh).

The 16-year-old boy arrested in Sydney on terrorism charges on Sunday afternoon is alleged by police to have chatted about obtaining a gun for use in a terrorist attack. Vision courtesy Ten News.

A 16-year-old boy arrested over an alleged Anzac Day terrorism plot had been in a government-run deradicalisation program for about a year.

The boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, chose not to appear in Parramatta Children's Court on Tuesday for a brief mention two days after his arrest.

His lawyer, Zemarai Khatiz, entered a not guilty plea to one charge of doing an act in preparation or planning for a terrorist act, an offence that carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The boy was arrested near his Auburn home Sunday afternoon, just hours after police allegedly intercepted an online chat he was having with a man overseas in which he mentioned trying to obtain a firearm and targeting an Anzac Day event on Monday.

He was not considered a "prime target" for counter-terrorism officers but had been on their radar for about a year.

The boy was arrested near his Auburn home Sunday afternoon, just hours after police allegedly intercepted an online chat he was having with a man overseas in which he mentioned trying to obtain a firearm and targeting an Anzac Day event on Monday.

The boy came to the attention of police in May last year after he was intercepted talking online to Neil Prakash, a former Melbourne man who had risen to become a key Islamic State figure.

Prakash, who has been involved in several foiled terror plots, was reportedly trying to encourage the teen to launch a Sydney attack to co-ordinate with a Melbourne bombing. Read the full story here.

5000 ISIS "European" Jihadi preparing to return to Tunisia and Algeria to carry out attacks according to Algerian intell.

5000 ISIS "European" terrorists preparing to return to Tunisia and Algeria to carry out attacks according to Algerian Intell. (Tunisienumerique).

According to the site Assabah News, and according to an informed source, the Algerian intelligence learned that Daech terrorist organization has no less than 5000 terrorists currently "inactive" on European soil, waiting for the green light to move towards the Maghreb countries, notably Tunisia and Algeria, to carry out attacks.

This would involve European citizens of North African origin, many of whom left for some time, to join the fighting in Syria, and would be back in Europe, pending instructions from their terrorist leaders.

The Algerian intelligence think these people will return to their home countries in North Africa, on the occasion of Ramadan, and would be ordered with terrorist missions once arrived.

Intelligence reports show that the first target of ISIS, right now, is Algeria and Tunisia since times have become too tough in Libya after installing the new internationally recognized government.

The Algerian intelligence fears the arrival of unrecorded young people, not filed as terrorists, especially since it is accepted that there were 5000 Europeans who fought with ISIS in the Middle East, while the records of European countries only report 2786 terrorists. So, more than two thousand international terrorists remain unknown to intelligence groups. Which makes the detection of them and screening upon arrival in their country of origin more difficult.

Terrorist Najim Laachraoui, worked for five years in the Brussels airport, knew security apparatus well.

Najim Laachraoui, worked for five years in the Brussels airport knew security apparatus well. (VTM) [GoogleTranslated].

Najim Laachraoui, one of the two terrorists who blew himself up at Brussels Airport, would have worked for five years at the same airport. That's wath VTM NEWS has learned. The man was working with a temporary contract for a company that operates at the airport. This means he was well-informed about the security at Zaventem.

The police discovered shortly before the attacks a clandestine secret prayer room  in the airport itself where radicalized personnel came together to meet in secret and praying. Although the airport is equipped with special prayer rooms, among them one for Muslims, but still a small group chose to organize their own secret prayer. At the request of the police is that space was emptied and shut down. That was shortly before the attack on the airport on March 22.
Research shows that there would be a list of names of at least 50 radicalized personnel at the airport
That list was drawn up after the attacks, but the secret prayer was discovered before the attacks and shut down. Hmmmm.....Proof of what I've been saying for many years 'Airport staff is the weakest link in airport security. Read the full story here.

Video - Scale of ISIS recruitment in France is being underestimated – jihadist’s mother .

The mother blamed the inaction of the local authorities in the commune of Sevran in the northeastern suburbs of Paris for her son and other youngsters joining the jihadists.

“We had a mosque. In fact, it was a prayer home, which we called Daesh Mosque,” she said, using the pejorative Arabic term for IS. “It wasn’t authorized and it’s closed now.”Read the full story here.

Video - British Islamist "Abu Haleema" on Day of Brussels Attacks: Do Not Grieve for the Infidels

British Islamist "Abu Haleema" on Day of Brussels Attacks: Do Not Grieve for the Infidels. (Memri).

In a video titled "Do Not Grieve for Them," posted on the Internet on the day of the Brussels terror attacks, a British Islamist going by the name "Abu Haleema" said that the sympathy of the Muslims should lie with the victims of airstrikes in Syria and Iraq and not with the "infidels."

"When 20,000 Muslims died in Syria - that's where your mercy should be. When 10,000 Muslims died in Iraq - that's where your mercy should be. When they gun down little children in Palestine - that's where your mercy should be," he said.

Following are excerpts

"Abu Haleema": [The Quran says]: "And do not grieve over them." If you read the commentary on that verse - what does it say?

It says: Do not feel regret over their rejection of you and your religion. That is what infidels do. So don't feel regret for that. That is the infidels' job - to oppose your religion, to oppose you as a Muslim. That is what they are supposed to do. They are doing nothing but what infidels do. The only thing they are doing is what infidels are supposed to do, which is to oppose the Muslims. […]

Brussels attacks: 'Fight the westerners' text sent to youths in Molenbeek

Brussels attacks: 'Fight the westerners' text sent to youths in Molenbeek . (Guardian).

Messages, feared to be from Isis recruiters, sent on Sunday after video online apparently showed young people celebrating attacks.

Young men in the Molenbeek district of Brussels were sent messages over the weekend calling on them to “make the right choice” and “fight the westerners”.

The texts were sent on Sunday night from a prepaid account that could not be traced or replied to. It followed a video distributed on Facebook, since removed, apparently showing local youths celebrating the attacks in Brussels last week. The death toll from the bombings has risen to 35, Belgium’s health minister said on Monday.

The short SMS message written in French, which the Guardian has seen, says: “My brother, why not fight the westerners? Make the right choice in your life.”

Jamal Ikazban, the local Socialist party MP, told the Guardian that the communications were stoking tensions in the community. “These people are trying to take our youth by storm,” he said.

It is like having a big-time drug dealer outside the school gates. We feel the same. They have to be taken off the streets. They are predators and our youths are the victims.”

For jihadis to be brazen enough to put out propaganda during a police crackdown after the attacks was “cheeky”, Ikazban said. Read the full story here.

Sermons Of Pro-ISIS Sheikh Abdullah Al-Faisal, Who Is Banned From Preaching, Are spread On YouTube as 'educational'.

Sermons Of Pro-ISIS Sheikh Abdullah Al-Faisal, Who Is Banned From Preaching, Are spread On YouTube as 'educational'. (MEMRI).

Pro-ISIS Jamaican cleric Sheikh Abdullah Al-Faisal, whose sermons are frequently uploaded by the “Umm Thalaatha” YouTube channel, spent four years in a UK prison for murder and inciting hatred. A graduate of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University in Saudi Arabia, he is said to have inspired several terrorists, among them shoe bomber Richard Reid, 9/11 plotter Zacarias Moussaoui, London bombers Muhammad Sidique Khan and Germaine Lindsay, and Christmas Day bomber Umar Farouq Abdulmutullab.

After he was deported from the UK back to Jamaica, the Islamic Council of Jamaica banned him from preaching.
However, the Jamaica Observer stated, “Jamaican police have maintained, however, that while the cleric will have to be constantly monitored, he has never incited murder or preached race hate messages on the island.”
On February 26, 2016, Al-Faisal delivered a sermon which was uploaded onto “Umm Thalaatha’s” YouTube channel, titled “The Manhaj [path] For Establishing The Sharia,” in which he railed against former Egyptian president Muhammad Morsi, saying that he should be hanged by the “apostate” Egyptian government.

In his sermon, Al-Faisal condemned Morsi not for being a Muslim Brotherhood member but because the Muslim Brotherhood had participated in the democratic political process in Egypt, thereby discrediting jihad and “promoting fitna [dissent].”

He also strongly endorsed violence as the best path (manhaj) for Muslims, and said that all homosexuals should be executed in accordance with the shari’a. The sermon is listed under the education category on YouTube. Read the full story here.

ISIS supporters have put together a handbook: "Lone Wolf Terrorism For Dummies".

ISIS supporters have put together a handbook: "Lone Wolf Terrorism For Dummies". (Vocativ).

Jihadi wannabes inspired by the Islamic State’s brand of religious fervor and brutal violence can now train like an ISIS militant from the comfort of their own home.

ISIS fans have surpassed their prior attempts to promote homegrown terror by crafting a sweeping handbook for so-called “lone wolf” extremists, Vocativ analysts discovered.
This manual moves beyond bomb-making tips and calls for indiscriminate violence. To do the Islamic State’s bidding requires a radical regimen of religious indoctrination, weapons mastery and other militant tactics. And this one book lays it all out, step-by-step, in a fashion that calls to mind the popular For Dummies self-help franchise.
Vocativ analysts discovered the untitled tome on a Telegram channel dedicated to lone wolf terrorism in general. A published synopsis that accompanied the guide spells out its target audience.

“For every Muslim believer whose religion and holy places are being attacked, who see the killing, burning, displacing, terrorizing, capturing and torturing of Muslims, and whose heart wanted to revolt and take revenge but couldn’t find a way,” the synopsis says in Arabic. Hmmmm.....Sounds like a best seller among Fatah and Hamas. Read the full story here.

Video - Germany - Frankfurt-Based Syrian Activist Dr. Malik Fndy: "This Is Why I Support the Islamic State"

Frankfurt-Based Syrian Activist Dr. Malik Fndy: "This Is Why I Support the Islamic State"(MEMRI).

Dr. Malik Fndy, a Syrian from the Dar'a area who lives in Germany, posted a video on the Internet in which he explains his support for the Islamic State (ISIS).

In the video, posted on January 7, Dr. Fndy claims that the Islamic State is the only state to implement Islamic law.

He criticizes Middle Eastern regimes and sub-state entities, calling them "pigs" and accusing them of collaborating with "the infidels."

He accuses Western media of distorting the image of the Islamic State by not publishing their original and complete videos, where the reasoning behind the stoning of a woman or the burning of Jordanian pilot Moaz Kasasbeh, for example, is explained.

Dr. Fndy identifies himself in his social media accounts as a Syrian from Karak, near Dar'a, who moved to Germany to study mathematics at Darmstadt University of Technology.

A 2012 Facebook post by the Coordination Committee of the Syrian Activists in Aid and Media in Germany describes Dr. Fndy as "very active in coordinating demonstrations, responsible for collecting donations for Dar'a, and [with] good media activity."

Indictment: Alleged ISIS supporter tried to bomb NFL's Championship game.

Indictment: Alleged ISIS supporter tried to bomb NFL's Championship game.(TheHill).

An alleged supporter of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) from Arizona has been indicted on charges that he planned to attack last year’s Super Bowl, according to court documents obtained by CNN.

The indictment alleges that Abdul Malik Abdul Kareem, who is also accused of arming and training men to attack a Prophet Mohammed cartoon contest in Texas earlier this year, plotted to set off pipe bombs at the University of Phoenix Stadium during the NFL’s championship game.

Kareem is also accused in the Wednesday indictment of providing material support to a terrorist group by accessing an ISIS document listing the names and address of U.S. service members, CNN said.

The earlier indictment alleges the 44-year-old, also known as Decarus Thomas, conspired with Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi to attack the Muhammad Art Exhibit and Contest in Garland, Texas.

Simpson and Soofi were shot dead on May 3 by a police traffic officer who was part of the security detail at the event. The officer was wounded but survived in the attack, for which ISIS has claimed responsibility.

The trio had been allegedly conspiring to support ISIS since June 2014, with targets such as the homes of U.S. service members, military bases, shopping malls, the Super Bowl and the cartoon contest.

The indictment alleges that Simpson, Soofi and others scouted military installations in order to plan their attacks. Hmmm......Conspiring since 2014.... nobody ever noticed, or did but was afraid to be called an Islamophobe..Read the full story here.

Trudeau’s 'Islamic' Parliamentary Secretary: recruit Arabs and Muslims to RCMP to better identify terrorists

Trudeau’s 'Islamic' Parliamentary Secretary: recruit Arabs and Muslims to RCMP to better identify terrorists.(Cijnews).

Omar Alghabra (MP Mississauga Centre) was appointed on December 2, 2015 by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs (Consular Affairs).

According to the official site of the Canadian federal legislature, Parliamentary secretaries help ministers maintain contacts with parliamentary committees and the department. The prime minister may assign parliamentary secretaries specific policy-related priorities. While overall responsibility and accountability remain with the minister, he or she may delegate specific policy development duties to a parliamentary secretary.

Omar Alghabra (Mississauga-Centre) was born in 1969 in Khobar Saudi Arabia to Syrian parents and came to Canada alone at the age of 19. He was previously a Member of Parliament from 2006 to 2008 and represented Mississauga-Erindale before the boundaries were redrawn.

Recruit Arabs and Muslims, remove the motive requirement from the definition of terrorism.

In 2005, Omar Alghabra, then the President of the Canadian Arab Federation (CAF), testified on the Anti Terrorism Act and the security certificates in front of the Parliament’s Subcommittee on Public Safety and National Security.

The Canadian Arab Federation, headed by Omar Alghabra and CAIR-CAN (Council on American Islamic Relations – Canada; later changed its name to The National Council of Canadian Muslims – NCCM) submitted to the Subcommittee on Public Safety and National Security a joint position paper entitled: “Brief on the Review of the Anti-terrorism Act”.

The CAF – CAIR document contains a series of recommendations that “should guide reform of national security law, policy and institutions in order to restore respect for the rule of law, human dignity and the confidence of Arab and Muslim Canadians.”

The recommendations include, among others, the following:

Trust and Real Security

  • “Diversify national security agencies and bureaucracies by hiring qualified Arabs and Muslims as staff and policy makers;
  • “Engage meaningful input, advice and direct participation from Arabs and Muslims on national security policy and law;
  • “Design robust training programs for intelligence and national security staff that is based on dialogue with communities and substantive education; and
  • “Rectify mistakes committed through national security investigations and the national security system (e.g. listing of terrorists, no-fly lists, FINTRAC notices)…
  • . listing of terrorists, no-fly lists, FINTRAC notices)…

  • Oversight and Accountability

    • “Involve Arabs and Muslims in the establishment and operation of the oversight system

    Profiling..
    • “The federal government work with Arab and Muslim communities to design an investigative study that will be undertaken by an independent panel of mutually agreed upon experts;
    • “The panel should be sufficiently resourced to undertake a comprehensive and meaningful study;
    • “The panel should examine the policies and operational practices of our security agencies where terrorism is involved and identify inconsistencies between policy and practice;
    • “The panel should travel across Canada to meet with Arabs and Muslims and listen to their narratives

    Law Reform
    • “Recruit qualified Arabs and Muslims as security cleared counsel, policy makers and judges;
    • “Abolish security certificates because they offend the rule of law, equality and fundamental justice;
    • “Remove the motive requirement from the definition of terrorism
    • “Redraft the facilitation offence to avoid criminalizing innocent charitable and community activity.”

Unlike Arabs and Muslims, RCMP and CSIS officers lack the cultural background to identify terrorists.

In his testimony on September 20, 2005, Omar Alghabra explained the idea behind recommending the security agencies to hire Arabs and Muslims by suggesting that they, meaning the Arab and Muslim Police officers, have an inherent advantage over others because of their cultural background that may help them better identify the terrorists.
Omar Alghabra said: “First of all, on the reasons why we’re asking for Arabs and Muslims to be within the police force, they’re going to identify who the terrorists are, and because a lot of these practices are a result of ignorance of the tradition and culture of Arabs and Muslims, the only way to sensitize the agencies is by diversifying them.”

Hezbollah, Hamas, Islamic Jihad and al-Aqsa Brigades should not be designated as terrorist organizations

On September 17, 2004, Omar Alghabra, then the President of the Canadian Arab Federation, slammed the “biased reporting” approach espoused by CanWest. As a glaring example to the “biased approach” the statement noted that CanWest described al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades a “terrorist” organization.

It should be noted that the Palestinian militant group al-Aqsa Martyrs was officially designated by the Canadian government as a terrorist organization since April 2, 2003.

CanWest, one of the largest media conglomerates in Canada, is failing its responsibility towards all Canadians, not just Arabs and Muslims,” said Omar Alghabra, CAF president.

“The media has moral and ethical obligations to report the facts when it comes to news reporting, not the opinions of their editors.”

The “social” network of Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad is legitimate and should be financially supported by Canadians

Two years earlier, the Canadian Arab Federation called on the federal government not to designate Hezbollah, Hamas and the Islamic Jihad as terrorist organizations. The following are excerpts of the CAF’s press release in this regard issued on December 9, 2012:
The Canadian Arab Federation (CAF) called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Solicitor General to proceed with extreme caution on the matter of adding to the Canadian list of terrorist organizations.
In letters to Bill Graham and Wayne Easter, CAF urged the ministers to assess genuine and credible security concerns, rather than political motivations, before adding organizations to the list.

CAF explained that it views Hezbollah as a legitimate Lebanese political party, in that it has representation in the country’s parliament and an extensive network of badly needed social service programs.

CAF implored the ministers not to succumb to political pressure, and to use only the rule of law and substantiated evidence in determining the status of Hezbollah in Canada.

With respect to the recent addition of Hamas and Islamic Jehad [sic] to the list of terrorist organizations, CAF indicated that these two organizations were borne out of 35 years of violent occupation of Palestine.

The listing of these organizations does not recognize the reality of the occupation and the context within which the violence is taking place,” the letters said. “The Canadian government as such has censured one form of violence while remaining silent on another – hardly an even-handed approach.”

CAF also pointed out that the listings will severely curb legitimate fundraising for charitable and humanitarian causes, and might affect the remittances from Palestinian Canadians that many families in the impoverished West Bank and Gaza have come to depend on.

Provisions need to be made to avoid worsening the already appalling humanitarian situation in Palestine by the application of the terrorist label to these two organizations”, CAF stated. Read the full story here.

ISIS members 'entered US and other countries without arousing suspicion with forged passports'

ISIS members 'entered US and other countries without arousing suspicion with forged passports'. (INN).

The investigation into November's Paris terror attacks has revealed that eight migrants entered Europe with the same forged passport as one of the terrorists.

At the same time, a new report released in the US has brought to light that Islamic State is running a thriving trade in counterfeit passports in Syria and that some of its members are now in the States.

According to the HSI report, IS has a special printing machine in Deir al Zor, one of its Syrian strongholds, and is using it to produce fake passports.

The report warned that, based on U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's intelligence sources, ISIS has access to passport printing machines and blank passport books, raising the possibility the documents could be faked, according to the source.

The source noted that, beyond the report, there's concern that this capability coupled with ISIS access to government buildings in Syria that contain valid biographical data and fingerprint info on Syrian citizens give rise to the threat of identity theft. "(Islamic State) members have already entered the US and are able to enter any country without arousing suspicion," the report said. Read the full story here.

Saint Denis Police terror raid near Paris ends with at least two killed, seven arrested.

Saint Denis Police terror raid near Paris ends with at least two killed, seven arrested. (France24).

A major police operation outside Paris ended Wednesday with two people killed, including a female suspect who detonated a suicide vest. Seven people were arrested in the raid, which was targeting the suspected mastermind of the Paris attacks.

Latest developments:

Police launched the raids in Saint-Denis, a suburb of Paris, before dawn on Wednesday in an operation police and judicial sources said was targeting suspected Paris attacks mastermind Abdelhamid Abaaoud. He and several other suspects are holed up inside an apartment building. A helicopter was flying overhead and police have cordoned off the area nearby. A female suspect blew herself up during the raid, police said.

French investigators said Tuesday that they were looking for a second suspect in the attacks after video footage confirmed that there were three men in a car used during the shootings at bars and restaurants in the city.

President François Hollande will meet in Washington with US President Barack Obama on November 24 and then with Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 26 in Moscow to discuss cooperation in the fight against the IS group.

France conducted air strikes against Islamic State group targets in the Syrian city of Raqqa for the third night in a row.

Prosecutors have identified five of the seven dead assailants involved in the attacks, while a search is under way for 26-year-old Belgian Salah Abdeslam.

Prosecutor François Molins, visiting Saint Denis with Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve, told reporters the raid was conducted following a phone tip-off. Two people, including a woman who detonated a suicide vest, were killed. At this stage it was impossible to confirm the identity of the people in the apartment, said Molins.

Police dog named Diesel, a 7-year-old Belgian Malinois SWAT team assault dog was “killed by terrorists” during the Saint Denis raid. Read the full story here.
