After Jordan pilot execution, angry King Abdullah quotes Eastwood's 'Unforgiven' to U.S. lawmakers.(WashingtonExaminer)

Members of the House Armed Services Committee met with Jordan's King Abdullah Tuesday not long after news broke that ISIS had burned to death a Jordanian pilot captured in the fight against the terrorist group. In a private session with lawmakers, the king showed an extraordinary measure of anger — anger which he expressed by citing American movie icon Clint Eastwood.

"He said there is going to be retribution like ISIS hasn't seen," said Republican Rep. Duncan Hunter Jr., a Marine Corps veteran of two tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan, who was in the meeting with the king. "He mentioned 'Unforgiven' and he mentioned Clint Eastwood, and he actually quoted a part of the movie."
"Any sumbitch takes a shot at me, I'm not only gonna kill him, but I'm gonna kill his wife. All his friends. Burn his damn house down."
Hunter would not say which part of "Unforgiven" the king quoted, but noted it was where Eastwood's character describes how he is going to deliver his retribution.

"He's angry," Hunter said of the king. "They're starting more sorties tomorrow than they've ever had. They're starting tomorrow. And he said, 'The only problem we're going to have is running out of fuel and bullets.'"

Hunter said there was no mention of President Obama during the bipartisan meeting, either by King Abdullah or by any of the lawmakers in the room. Hmmmm........They know you can't count on the 'Commander in chief'

King Abdullah: Jordan is Jordan, and Palestine is Palestine.

King Abdullah: Jordan is Jordan, and Palestine is Palestine.(INN).By Elad Benari .
Jordan’s King Abdullah II rejects the notion that his country is an "alternative homeland" for Palestinian Arabs.
Jordan’s King Abdullah II rejected on Sunday the notion that his country was an "alternative homeland" for Palestinian Arabs, the state news agency Petra reports.

Jordan is Jordan and Palestine is Palestine and nothing but that, not the in the past or the future," King Abdullah was quoted as having said in a meeting with the Prime Minister, the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the Lower House.

"We know how this issue has been surfacing since 15 years, or even more, where things start in the spring by the same group, who tense the Jordanian society, and by the summer, people feel scared; a thing that makes me reassure them by a speech or a press interview, but this year, unfortunately, the talk about the so-called alternative homeland stated early," he said.

There have been many calls on Jordan to accept the so-called “Palestinian refugees”, considering that the areas liberated by Israel during the 1967 Six Day War were under Jordanian control.

The Hashemite Kingdom, however, has rejected these calls. King Abdullah’s latest remarks come amid growing concern in Jordan over U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s proposed framework agreement and what will be its effect on Jordan.

Jordan's government is hoping to be spared by a popular uprising by having the repressed "Palestinians" removed and sent to Israel as part of a future deal.

Last week, the King met with President Barack Obama and discussed the peace talks. Hours before the meeting, hundreds of Islamists rallied in Jordan against a peace deal between Israel and the PA.

The 1,200 protesters affiliated with Jordan's Muslim Brotherhood, who demonstrated against Kerry’s peace framework, also burned the Israeli flag and demanded that King Abdullah “revoke the peace treaty with the Zionists.”Read the full story here.

Russia Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov asserted that imposing a No-Fly zone over Syria by using F-16 jets and Patriot rockets via Jordan violates the International law.

Wall Street Journal has mentioned that the US intends to arm the terrorist groups in Syria and to impose a no-fly zone via Jordan.

It is worth noting that the US has sent a number of Patriot rockets and F-16 jets to Jordan in order to launch annual military maneuvers.

Hashemite King of Jordan Explains Why Jewish American Organizations Are Important.

Full scale pic can be found here.

Hashemite King of Jordan Explains Why Jewish American Organizations Are Important.HT: Algemeiner.
His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Hashemite King of Jordan, met with Jewish groups in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, according to a Twitter post from his royal court. An official at a Jewish organization confirmed the meeting to The Algemeiner.
The tweet included an info-graphic, bearing the headline “Why They Are Important,” explaining his meetings with “The Influencers,” including leaders of Arab and Muslim American Organizations and, now, leaders of Jewish American Organizations.

Under the latter, the poster said: “Jewish American organizations are a strong lobbying power in the U.S., and influence U.S. policies in the Middle East. Jewish American organizations are also influential in Israel, and can play an important role in encouraging the Israeli government to take steps towards peace.

Under the former, the poster said: “Arab and Muslim American organizations educate and inform the U.S. general public about Arab and Muslim culture and their causes. They play an important role in advocating and supporting Arab and Muslim U.S. citizens on various issues and lobby within U.S. decision-making circles on their behalf. They help educate and organize U.S. Arab and Muslim voters during elections for President, members of Congress and many other political offices.”

Obama to meet Jordan’s king Abdullah in California desert.

Obama to meet Jordan’s king Abdullah in California desert.(AA).
President Barack Obama will launch a new round of Middle East diplomacy Friday in a plush oasis in the arid California desert, hosting a Valentine’s Day summit with Jordan’s King Abdullah II.
Obama and the king will swap the piles of snow in Washington for the Sunnylands retreat at the Annenberg estate in Palm Springs, to discuss issues including the pitiful torrent of refugees pouring into Jordan from Syria.

The meeting will be the first of a trio of meetings between Obama and key Middle East leaders in the coming weeks.

On March 3, the U.S. president will sit down at the White House for his latest encounter with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who has made no secret of his skepticism over an interim deal that Washington and other world powers reached with Iran on its nuclear program.

Then at the end of March, he will travel to Saudi Arabia, for what is likely to be a sharp personal reminder that Saudi King Abdullah shares Netanyahu’s doubts about Obama’s strategy of testing the sincerity of an Iranian diplomatic opening.

While Obama enjoys his stag weekend, his wife Michelle and daughters Malia and Sasha reportedly have their own mini-break planned elsewhere.

Presidents, including Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush have loved the links at Sunnylands since the 1960s.

The course is a nine-hole layout, but two sets of tees allow for a varied 18-hole round to a par of 72.

Obama will be making his second visit to the resort as president. Last year, he held an informal shirt-sleeves summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and stayed on for a few rounds of golf. Hmmmm.....How many Syrian fugitives from Jordan are you taking Hussein? I've got 700,000 on my hands.Read the full story here.

King Abdullah Of Jordan Says Muslim Brotherhood Part Of Political Life.HT: GMBR.
A Middle Eastern news portal tied to the Global Muslim Brotherhood is reporting that the King of Jordan has said that the political arm of the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood is part of the political life of his country. According to a Middle East Monitor report:
17 September 2013 Jordanian King Abdullah II has affirmed that he refuses to dismiss the role of the Muslim Brotherhood from the political process in his country.

Speaking to Chinese news agency, the King said: “The Islamic Action Front Party, the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, forms a part of the political and social streams [in Jordan]. Jordan does not adopt a policy to dismiss any faction of any political movement.”

The King, who is on an official visit to China, continued: “We support openness in the political arena and we support the existence of all parties in the political process. Our nation hopes that all parties with real political, social and economic solutions to our problems take part in our political life.”

At the end of August, the GMBDW reported that that the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood was boycotting municipal elections.

At the end of July, the GMBDW reported that the leader of the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood had delivered speeches in which he called peace negotiations with Israel  ”a heresy, according to Islamic law” and that Palestine is “the graveyard of the Jews.”

In April, the GMBDW reported that a leader of the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood had rejected agreements signed by the country’s king and the Israeli government and that leaders of the Brotherhood wold not meet U.S. officials.

In July 2012, the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood was involved in the cancellation of a scheduled attendance by a Jordanian delegation to an educational conference being held in Israel. In June 2012, the head of the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood called the arrival of the latest convoy in Gaza “a new page of the Jihad against the occupation of the Palestinian territories. In May 2012, the Jordanian Brotherhood elected a new leader, described as a “hardliner.”

Extremist statements made in the past by the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood include:
Praising Turkey’s decision to expel the Israeli ambassador and calling on Jordan and Egypt to do the same.
Demanding punishment for those in Jordan who may have warned Israel about the terror attacks in Eilat.
Calling the French ban on full face veils “the beginning of a dangerous battle.”
Suggesting that Israel might be behind a bomb attack on an Egyptian Coptic church.

King Abdullah warns of Palestinian Arab Spring styled revolt.

King Abdullah warns of Palestinian Arab Spring styled revolt. HT: JPost.

DUBAI - Jordan's King Abdullah said Palestinians could launch an Arab Spring-style revolt if they felt prospects for a peaceful settlement of their conflict with Israel had reached a dead end, the London-based Asharq al-Awsat newspaper reported on Wednesday.

King Abdullah welcomed efforts by US Secretary of State John Kerry to revive Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, but warned of a narrowing window for peace due to Israeli settlement building. "Fading prospects of peace will explode relations between Palestinians and Israelis in a manner emulating the Arab Spring protests, either through a new intifada (uprising) or a new cycle of violence and counter violence," he said.

King Abdullah also said Syria's war could ignite a regional sectarian conflict unless global powers helped to convene peace talks soon.

Situated near Syria and next door to Israel and the occupied West Bank, US-allied Jordan is affected by instability in the region. Jordan has taken in more than 500,000 Syrians out of a total 1.5 million who have fled the war, UN officials say.

"It has become clear to all that the Syrian crisis may extend from being a civil war to a regional and sectarian conflict...the extent of which is unknown," King Abdullah said in an interview.

"It is time for a more serious Arab and international coordination to stop the deterioration of the Syrian crisis. The situation cannot wait any longer," he added.Hmmmmm.......Another great ideas i had while stoned: ....'I've got a great idea lets send those 500,000 Syrians to Israel'.Read the full story here.

Jordan MPs 'demand Israel envoy's expulsion'.

Jordan MPs 'demand Israel envoy's expulsion'.HT: MyRightWord.
AMMAN (AFP) -- Jordan's MPs on Wednesday unanimously demanded the government expel Israeli Ambassador Daniel Nevo over "the occupation measures" at Jerusalem's al-Aqsa mosque compound, state media reported.

"The (150-member) lower house of parliament unanimously demanded the government ask the Israeli ambassador to leave Jordan, and recall the Jordanian ambassador in Israel," Walid Obeidat, the official Petra news agency said.

The vote came in response to "the Israeli occupation measures at Al-Aqsa mosque."

Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Wednesday said the government was deeply concerned about the Israeli violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque, adding that there were continuous attacks by extremist settlers who had "evil, systemized and pre-planned schemes".

Ensour told the Lower House of Parliament that the cabinet discussed the settlers’ storming of the Al-Aqsa compound and the arrest of Palestine Mufti and Al-Aqsa Imam Sheikh Mohammad Hussein for interrogation.

He said the Jordanian embassy in Tel Aviv would be instructed to take all necessary measures to respond to such an unacceptable and condemnable crime.

The government, Ensour added, is ready to call for an urgent United Nations Security Council meeting in order to urge the international organization to stand up to its responsibilities towards Jerusalem in line with relevant international resolutions.Read the full story here.

Jordanian King Abdullah: PM Erdogan views democracy as ‘bus ride,’

Jordanian King Abdullah: PM Erdogan views democracy as ‘bus ride,’. (HD).Jordanian King Abdullah II has criticized Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, saying the prime minister views democracy as a “bus ride.”

Erdoğan is merely promoting a softer version of Islamism, the king told the Atlantic magazine in an interview. “Erdoğan once said that democracy, for him, is a bus ride,” King Abdullah said. “‘Once I get to my stop, I’m getting off,’ [Erdoğan said].” King Abdullah paid a two-day official visit to Turkey earlier this month, where he shed tears as he visited Anıtkabir, the mausoleum dedicated to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of modern Turkey.

The King sees Erdoğan as a more restrained and savvier version of Mohamed Morsi, according to the interview. “Instead of the Turkish model, taking six or seven years, [instead of] being an Erdoğan, Morsi wanted to do it overnight,” the King said.

“There is no depth there,” Abdullah reportedly told the Atlantic of he and Morsi’s discussion on Hamas. “I was trying to explain to him how to deal with Hamas, how to get the peace process moving, and he was like, ‘The Israelis will not move.’ I said, ‘Listen, whether the Israelis move or don’t move, it’s how we get Fatah and Hamas ‘together.’” When Morsi remained fixated on the Israelis, the King said, he tried to reiterate the importance of sorting out “the mess” on the Palestinian side.

“There’s no depth to the guy,” he repeated of Morsi.Hmmmm......The Islam 'Light' will just as well get to the same result, Morsi and Erdogan are not that different.Read the full story here.

Jordan capital tenses for pro-King and rival Islamist demos

Jordan capital tenses for pro-King and rival Islamist demos.(Ahram).According to organisers, around 200,000 supporters of King Abdullah II's plans for reforms will rub shoulders with an expected 50,000 backers of the Muslim Brotherhood, the main opposition bloc, with the rallies set to take place at the same time at the same location. "Our demonstration will be peaceful and civilised," said Zaki Bani Rashid, a Brotherhood official, reiterating the group's demands for a "fair electoral law, a serious fight against corruption and constitutional reforms." "We will not challenge anyone, and we will not provoke anyone," he added.
He dismissed as "provocative rumours" claims that the rally would call for the king to leave power, blaming "suspicious parties who want to spark a crisis." "We must stop demonising the Islamist movement, and stop inciting it."
In response to a protest movement that has since January 2011 called for political and economic reforms, King Abdullah II has announced elections due to take place before the end of the year. The Muslim Brotherhood, however, has said it will boycott the polls as they did in 2010, to protest a lack of reform, arguing that the electoral system favours rural regions seen as loyal to the government. They have instead called for a parliamentary system where the prime minister is elected, rather than appointed by the king. They have not called for the king to leave power. The demonstration, dubbed "The Friday of the country's salvation," has called for Islamists to march from the Al-Husseini mosque after midday prayers to Al-Nakhil Square, about a kilometre (half a mile) away. At the same time, around 200,000 people are expected to attend a rally to "support the king's reform plans," said Jihad al-Sheikh, one of the organisers of the rival demonstration which is being held under the banner "Allegiance and Belonging." Demonstrators will wear hats and T-shirts bearing photos of the king, and will be ferried from various parts of Jordan to Al-Nakhil Square aboard more than 100 buses, Sheikh said. "The goals of the Muslim Brotherhood demonstration are questionable," he said. "They are looking for a confrontation, and anyone who supports the interests of Jordan should face them." According to analysts, the pro-government rally is an attempt to undermine the opposition. "This time, it is not just about a show of force, but an attempt to crush the other side and that is dangerous," said Oraib al-Rintawi, the head of the Al-Quds Centre for Political Studies. "The Islamists have led several peaceful rallies that have been within the framework of the law" and Friday "will not be an exception," he said. Rintawi dismissed "rumours that the Brothers want to get into a confrontation with the police." Labib Qimhawi, another political analyst, concurred: "This is an attempt to break the opposition. The choice of the same place at the same time for a counter-demonstration aims to create a crisis."
He accused "the government of trying to enflame the situation with a strong media campaign against the Muslim Brotherhood." "It is also possible that the interior minister bans both demonstrations, pointing to the risk of violence, when in fact he wants to ban the Brotherhood protest," Qimhawi said. Another possibility that risks raising tensions is a potential "absence of security forces on the streets," as has been mooted by government newspaper Al-Rai, which noted that security forces fear being pitted by one side against the other. According to Qimhawi, "the threat of such an absence is a call for chaos and confrontation." In a statement on Wednesday, Jordan's head of public security, General Hazza al-Majali, said his forces would ensure the safety of the protesters and called on the organisers to "cooperate" with the police.Read the full story here.

Jordan king approves controversial media law.

Jordan king approves controversial media law.(AA).Jordan’s King Abdullah II has endorsed controversial amendments to the press and publication law seen by online journalists as a threat to freedom of expression. The king on Monday night issued a decree approving the law in its new form, after parliament passed the amendments that require the country’s 220 news websites to obtain licenses from the government, which can censor content and hold journalists liable for posted comments. The amendments also stipulate that website chief editors must be members of the Jordan Press Association. Journalists and rights activists have urged the king to reject the law. “We refuse to be terrorized,” read a banner carried by journalists during a sit-in on Saturday. “We have high hopes that the king will protect the media in Jordan,” read another banner. Human Rights Watch has also criticized the law. “The government has long imposed restrictions on how Jordanians may express their thoughts and opinions,” the New York-based watchdog’s senior Middle East researcher, Christoph Wilcke, said. “The state should be rolling back those laws, not extending them to online expression.”Read the full story here.

Another Domino lining up - Jordan’s Muslim Brotherhood to boycott early elections.

Another Domino lining up - Jordan’s Muslim Brotherhood to boycott early elections.(AA).Jordan’s powerful Muslim Brotherhood decided on Thursday to boycott early elections expected later this year because of a “lack of reform,” in a move that is likely throw the country into political crisis. “The Muslim Brotherhood’s shura (advisory) council voted today (Thursday) to boycott parliamentary elections this year,” Zaki Bani Rsheid, deputy leader of the movement, told AFP. “Forty-nine out of 52 members of the council voted on the decision, which comes as a result of a lack of political reform in the country.” Bani Rsheid said “the regime has failed to meet reform demands by Jordanians, including the Islamist movement.” According to the constitution, elections should be organized every four years, but Jordan held early polls in 2010 after King Abdullah II dissolved parliament. The Islamists boycotted those elections in protest at constituency boundaries, saying they over-represented loyalist rural areas at the expense of urban areas seen as Islamist strongholds. They have repeatedly demanded sweeping changes that would lead to a parliamentary system in which the premier would be elected rather than named by the king.Hmmmm......Who needs enemies with the Muslim brotherhood around?Read the full story here.

Opposing Qatar-based Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi's fatwa Egypt’s grand mufti, Jordanian prince visit Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa mosque.

Opposing Qatar-based Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi's fatwa Egypt’s grand mufti, Jordanian prince visit Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa mosque.(AlArabiya).Egypt’s grand mufti visited Jerusalem’s al-Aqsa mosque on Wednesday, a senior Muslim official said, despite claims by an internationally prominent cleric that such visits are a sop to Israel. Azzam al-Khatib said Ali Gomaa, Egypt’s highest religious authority, “came for a religious visit to al-Aqsa mosque” along with Jordan’s Prince Ghazi bin Mohammed, King Abdullah II’s cousin and advisor on religious issues. The two men also visited the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the Greek Orthodox patriarchate, said Khatib.
All three sites are located in Jerusalem’s Old City, which is controlled by Israel, which considers the city its eternal and indivisible capital. In Amman, Jordan’s ministry of awqaf and Islamic affairs said the visit was in accordance with a command from the Prophet Mohammed to visit only three mosques on pilgrimage − al-Aqsa and the mosques in Mecca and Medina, Saudi Arabia. It added that Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas had “called on Muslims everywhere to visit al-Aqsa and revitalize it by filling it with worshippers and pilgrims.” “This trip ... is seen as an effort to encourage Muslims who are able to visit al-Aqsa Mosque, one of Islam’s three holiest sites, and Islam’s first Qiblah (direction of prayer),” it said. It comes after Qatar-based Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, an Egyptian, said in a religious edict (fatwa) last month that Muslims should not visit Jerusalem “because it requires dealing with Zionist embassies to obtain visas.” “Such visits might also give legitimacy to the occupation and could be seen as normalization,” Qaradawi said in March.
His fatwa has drawn the ire of Palestinian awqaf minister Mahmud al-Habbash, saying it was “weird and contradicts the Koran and the Prophet’s teachings.” “The fatwa serves Israeli policies that seek to isolate Jerusalem and Palestinians, who should be supported,” Habbash said. Earlier this month, the king’s half-brother, Prince Hashim, paid a similar visit to Jerusalem. Also, Jordan’s Interior Minister Mohammad Raud went to the Holy City this week. The kingdom’s powerful opposition Islamists have denounced such visits. “In line with Islamic edicts issued by respected clerics and consultations with Christian religious leaders, we consider these trips as acts of normalization that serves the schemes of the enemy,” said Hamzeh Mansur, chief of the Islamic Action Front, the political arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in Jordan, on the party’s website. “Mosque preachers, thinkers, intellectuals and journalists should intensify their efforts to warn the public against the dangerous risks behind such visits, which must not continue,” added Mansur, who also heads an anti-normalization committee. Jordan, which has a 1994 peace treaty with Israel, is the custodian of Muslim holy sites in Jerusalem. One of the most sensitive places in the Middle East, the mosque is referred to by Muslims as al-Haram al-Sharif and is the third most sacred site in Islam. The mosque compound is known to Jews as the Temple Mount and is revered as Judaism’s most sacred site.Hmmm......Countdown for the Muslim Brotherhood to start riots in Jordan....activated.Read the full story here.
