Video - French 15-year old said to be in charge of IS child army.

French 15-year old said to be in charge of IS child army.HT: HateSpeech.

The Islamic State (IS) is reportedly building an army of 11 to 16 year olds, under the command of a French 15-year-old, sources tell HSI.

In late 2013, IS established a project called Ashbal al-Zarqawi – which means “The Small Lions of al-Zarqawi” (named after IS founder Abu Musab al-Zarqawi), which led to an increase in the training and organization of child soldiers, Hate Speech International (HSI) sources and news reports say. IS has released several video recordings displaying the child soldiers of the organization (see below for an example).

Sources in Raqqa, close to IS fighters involved in the training of children, have told Hate Speech International that the Islamic State now has moved this project into a new phase, with plans for a child army of 11 to 16 year olds.

A French 15-year-old is believed to have been appointed commander for the child soldiers, although HSI sources in Syria were unable to confirm his identity or give an estimate of the expected size of the child army.

Any child army, of any size, would constitute a serious violation of international law and the UN Children’s Convention.

Depleted

At first, the IS seldom recruited children under age 14 for combat. However, sources in Syria say the terror group’s ranks have been depleted by U.S.-led air strikes and desertions in recent weeks. Some foreign IS fighters have been caught attempting to flee Syria, and were executed as an example.

Sources in Syria tell HSI that the IS may be considering deploying the child army to the besieged town of Kobani on the Syrian-Turkish border, or other areas where the organisation is under heavy attacks. This could be part of a strategy to make it harder for the US and allied countries to launch air strikes, because of the risk of killing children. Child soldiers have already been sent to Kobani – or Ayn Al-Arab in Arabic – and, as reported earlier by HSI, at least one child soldier has committed suicide on the battlefield due to mental stress. On October 8, HSI reported that more than 30 children had been killed in the battle for Kobani in just four days.

Many schools in Raqqa city and the towns of Alhab, Ezaz and Jerablous have been used as military training camps for children, with some children carrying out executions and torture, local sources told HSI on the condition of anonymity.

Coordinators

Sources in Syria have identified two IS jihadists responsible for coordinating much of the IS work to recruit children.

One is a 24-year-old who has an ailment that makes him look like a child and who is in charge of the child recruitment in Raqqa, one source told HSI.

The other is a 19-year-old from the town of Ezaz near Aleppo. He worked in a local pharmacy until mid-2013, when he became one of the security leaders of IS in Ezaz. Former prisoners of IS claim that he advanced in the ranks by participating in repeated torture of prisoners. See video on the 'training' of these children here.

YPG Commander: Turkey Training ISIL to Fight against Kurdish Forces in Syria

YPG Commander: Turkey Training ISIL to Fight against Kurdish Forces in Syria. (Fars).

Sipan Hemo, general commander of the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in Syria's Kurdistan region, disclosed that Turkey is training the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) Takfiri terrorists in its military camps to prepare them for the fight against the YPG forces in Syria.

"There are different camps in Turkey that are training the ISIL forces," ANHA news agency quoted Hemo as saying on Saturday.

He underlined that Turkey has been involved in all activities that have taken place so far against the Syrian Kurdish forces.

Last month, YPG Spokesman Redur Khalil disclosed that the ISIL Takfiri terrorists have been using banned weapons in their recent attacks on the town of Kobani.

"The terrorists have used banned weapons in their recent attacks," Khalil told FNA.

He noted that the scars on the dead bodies of the YPG forces who have been killed in the warfronts with the ISIL militants indicate that the terrorists have used unconventional weapons to break the resistance of Kobani defenders.

"We need heavy weapons for driving the terrorists out of the region, we do not need dispatch of forces because we have our own fighters who can change the balance of war against the terrorists in the region if they have weapons," Khalil said.

The YPG spokesman pointed to the recent stances of the Turkish government on regional developments, and said, "The government of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has so far adopted a dual-approach policy towards regional developments and Ankara's stances on ISIL terrorists are not transparent and all the forces who have come from abroad and joined the ranks of ISIL terrorists have entered Syria through Turkey."

The YPG spokesman further asked for the formation of a regional front against ISIL, and said these are the regional nations who should form a coalition against the terrorist group, and not those states that are from outside the region.

One more New palace ready in Istanbul for Turkish Pres Erdogan.

'Restored to the 'Sultan' his taste  Source.

One more New palace ready in Istanbul for Turkish Sultan Pres Erdogan. (HD).

As the cost of Turkey’s new presidential palace, unofficially known as the “Ak Saray” continues to stir controversy due to its astronomical cost in tandem with its gargantuan size, restoration work on an old palace that is reportedly set to become the president’s office in Istanbul has ended.

The historic Vahdettin mansion, home to the last Ottoman Sultan Vahideddin (also known as Mehmed VI), has been renovated after four months of rapid work? (See Photo above transformation in Nine year!)

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has reportedly selected the mansion as his possible new office in Istanbul, but there has been no official confirmation yet for the future use of the building.

The mansion, located in the quiet Asian Istanbul neighborhood of Çengelköy and facing the Bosphorus, is not far from Erdoğan’s personal home in the city.

Erdoğan visited the mansion and checked on the restoration works in July, lending weight to suggestions that the compound could become his Istanbul office. Hmmmm.......Has to compete with the Qataris . Read the full story here.

Anticipating U.S. air strikes, Syria asks for Russian S-300 and other advanced weapons

Anticipating U.S. air strikes, Syria asks for Russian S-300 and other advanced weapons. (AA).

The Syrian regime of President Bashar al-Assad feared the rise of Republicans in the U.S. Congress and began preparing for a potential radical shift in U.S. foreign policy towards Syria, statements by the country’s foreign minister revealed on Thursday.

Damascus was afraid that the rise of Republicans could mount pressure on President Barack Obama to launch military strikes against the regime army’s installations in Syria and has asked Russia to speed up the delivery of a powerful air defense system, Foreign Minister Walid Muallem said in an interview with Lebanon’s al-Akhbar newspaper.

Washington had pledged that air strikes against the Islamist State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) would not target Syria army targets, the foreign minister said.

“Do we trust this commitment? For now, we realize that President Barack Obama, for domestic reasons, wants to avoid war with Syria,” he told the newspaper.

“But we do not know how Obama will act under mounting pressure, and the pressure will only increase if the Republicans achieve a majority in the U.S. mid-term elections, so we have to prepare ourselves.”

The interview was conducted before Tuesday’s U.S. elections, which saw the Republicans regain control of Congress.

“This is what we explained bluntly to the Russians, and we asked them to use take advantage of the situation and provide us with advanced weapons,” he said.

Asked if he was referring to S-300 anti-aircraft missiles, which Damascus has long sought from Russia, Muallem replied: “Yes, and other advanced weapons.”

“We will get them and other advanced weapons in a reasonable period,” he said.

The main problem is on the road to a speedy solution, meaning the Kremlin’s political approval. It is just around the corner,” he added.

S-300 batteries are advanced surface-to-air weapons that can take out aircraft or guided missiles, and Russia’s planned sale of the missiles to Damascus has raised international concerns.

Last September, Russian President Vladimir Putin said delivery of the weapons had been suspended “for the moment” without saying why, AFP reported.

His comments came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu paid a special visit to Russia to convince Moscow to halt the shipments.

Syria has reportedly paid a deposit of several hundred million dollars for between three to six missile system units.

 Flashback: September 2013

Putin said it is premature to talk about what Russia would do if the U.S. attacked Syria.

“We have our own ideas about how we would act in the case that chemical weapons were used or in the case that they weren’t,” he said. “We have our plans, but it’s too early to talk about that.”

Putin called the S-300 air defense missile system “a very efficient weapon” and said that Russia had a contract for its delivery of the S-300s to Syria. “We have supplied some of the components, but the delivery hasn’t been completed. We have suspended it for now,” he said.

But if we see that steps are taken that violate the existing international norms, we shall think how we should act in the future, in particular regarding supplies of such sensitive weapons to certain regions of the world.

The statement could be a veiled threat to revive a contract for the delivery of the S-300s to Iran, which Russia canceled a few years ago under strong U.S. and Israeli pressure.

Video - Canadian fighter jets strike IS where it hurts inside Iraq

Canadian fighter jets strike IS where it hurts inside Iraq. (Yahoo).

Canada's first airstrikes against Islamic State jihadists in Iraq destroyed heavy engineering equipment used to build up group's defenses and divert water from the Euphrates River, an official said Tuesday.

Lieutenant-General Jonathan Vance told a press conference two CF-18 Hornet fighter jets dropped several 500-pound laser-guided bombs on four targets near a dam near Fallujah.

IS, he said, had been using the equipment to "divert water from the Euphrates river to create flooding and displace the population in Anbar province, and denying water to other populations downstream."

By flooding specific areas, IS forced civilians and Iraqi troops to use "specific roads where they had placed improvised explosive devices or IEDs," he explained.

Furthermore, the militants used the vehicles to "develop and enhance their defensive positions, which would have made future clearing operations for the Iraqi security forces more difficult."

Canada conducted its first airstrikes in the anti-IS fight following two days of reconnaissance after joining the coalition last Thursday.

Vance said Canadian aircraft have flown a total of 27 sorties in Iraq so far. Hmmm......Crazy Canucks...you don't mess with them.

Pew poll: Israel most hated country in 'Islamist' Turkey. U.S. Second.

Pew poll: Israel most hated country in 'Islamist' Turkey. ( YN).
86% of responders have an unfavorable opinion of Israel, while only 2% view it positively; Although we do not have measurements of Turkish opinion of the Islamic State, Turks also harbor a strong dislike to terror organizations – 80% dislike Hamas, 85% dislike Hezbollah.
Israel is the country most hated by Turkish citizens, a Pew Research Center poll released last week found.

Responders were asked whether they have a favorable or unfavorable opinion of a selection of states (US, China, Brazil, Russia, Iran, Israel) and entities (such as the European Union and Nation).

Israel was found the most disliked country of the offered options, with 86 percent of responders saying they have an unfavorable opinion of Israel and only 2 percent seeing Israel in a positive light.

There is of course no reason to be surprised of the negative view Turks have of Israel. A diplomatic rift was opened between the two countries during the 2008-9 Operation Cast Lead. At the height of the still-ongoing conflict was the Israeli commando raid of the Turkish “Mavi Marmara” ship that was attempting to break the blockade on Gaza. The incident left 10 Turkish citizens dead.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan often attacks Israel, publicly accusing it of “genocide” of the Palestinians.

Still, it’s interesting to learn just how much the Turkish public dislikes Israel.

Other than having a favorable opinion of their own country (78 percent, according to a 2012 poll), the Turks don’t think highly of any of the countries or entities asked about. (Herrenvolk attitude enforced by leadership)

  • The Turks have a lot opinion of the European Union (66 percent unfavorable opinion, 25 percent favorable),
  • China (68 percent negative views, 21 percent positive),
  • the United States (73 percent negative views and 19 percent positive),
  • Russia (73 percent negative, 16 positive),
  • Brazil (65 percent negative, 20 percent positive) and Iran (75 percent negative, 14 percent positive).

Saudi Arabia, however, another Sunni state, is the most liked of the countries asked about, but even then, only 26 percent of Turks have a favorable opinion of it, while 53 percent have an unfavorable opinion of it). Hmmm.....Not really a surprise to anyone watching the Rise of Erdogan. Makes you wonder WHY they want to join Europe? Turks also harbor a strong dislike to terror organizations – 80% dislike Hamas....yeah sure anyone interested in a bridge for sale?More here.

Some 234 men and women from the Iraqi Yazidi minority were freed by IS.

Some 234 men and women from the Iraqi Yazidi minority were freed by IS. (Taz).

Some 234 men and women from the Iraqi Yazidi minority were freed after being kidnapped by militants of the Islamic State (IS) group which took control of their town a few months ago, the Kurdish regional government said on Monday, Xinhua reported.

"Some 234 members of Yazidi minority, including 150 females and many children, have been released after months in captivity by the IS militants," Nouri Othman Sinjari, spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government, told Xinhua by phone.

The release of the kidnapped Yazidis was a difficult and complicated task, as some were freed through mediation of tribal leaders and others by paying ransom to their abductors from the IS militants, Sinjari said without giving further details.

Since early August, hundreds of Yazidi minority members have been killed or kidnapped when IS militants seized the town of Sinjar, some 100 km west of Nineveh's provincial capital city of Mosul.
The militants also reportedly kidnapped up to 500 Yazidi women, taking them to bases in neighboring Syria and in the militants- seized city of Mosul, some 400 km north of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.

The Yazidi minority is primarily Kurdish. The religion of the Yazidis incorporates elements of many faiths, as a result of some of their beliefs and the mystery surrounding their religion, many Muslims and non-Muslims have come to see Yazidis as "infidels." This has led to violent attacks by extremist Islamist groups against them. Read the full story here.

Neo Ottoman 'conqueror' Turkey will not accept 'de facto' borders in Iraq, Syria

Neo Ottoman 'conqueror' Turkey will not accept 'de facto' borders in Iraq, Syria. (Taz).

Turkey cannot agree to de facto borders in Syria or Iraq, and the terrorist Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant will not be able to realize such an aim, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said, Anadolu agency reported.

"Turkey cannot say 'yes' to any de facto borders in the Middle East. Steps to be taken in that regard are of the utmost importance," Erdogan said in an address at the prominent French think tank IFRI on Friday.

"I do not believe that ISIL could achieve such a result in Syria and Iraq. I hope that the peoples of both Syria and Iraq will succeed at the end of all this," he continued.

The U.S. is leading an international coalition, which includes France, Germany, and Saudi Arabia, among others, and has carried out numerous airstrikes against ISIL in Iraq and Syria.

Syrian Kurdish fighters, predominantly from armed units affiliated to Democratic Union Party -- an offshoot of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party, or PKK -- are fighting against ISIL in Kobani, a town bordering Turkey.

Turkey has recently allowed the passage of Iraqi Kurdish peshmerga forces through Turkey to reach the battle-torn town.

The first batch of Kobani-bound peshmerga troops landed on a private plane at Turkey's GAP Airport from Erbil International Airport early on Wednesday.

They were then stationed in the Suruc district of Turkey's border province of Sanliurfa.

A separate truck convoy carrying their heavy weaponry also entered Turkey on Wednesday via the Habur border crossing in the southeastern province of Sirnak.

Erdogan also mentioned the solution process to end PKK terrorism during his talk, saying that the process is continuing despite the damage dealt by several provocations.

Turkey’s EU accession process.

Referring to Turkey's moves to join the European Union, Erdogan said he had asked his French counterpart to lift his country's block of four chapters of the accession process as Turkey had fulfilled all the requirements for them.

Turkey, which first applied to join the bloc in 1987, must comply with 35 "chapters" of reforms.
So far, 14 have been opened, while 17 remain blocked and a further four have yet to be discussed.
Erdogan said that Hollande had given a "green light: but in a "foggy" way.

“ I hope that he will be less vague so I can go back to Turkey today with the good news that those chapters are unblocked," he said.

However, Hollande said it was possible for his country to “open” the chapters, but he gave no precise date or details.

The chapters blocked by France are on “economic and monetary policy”, “agriculture and rural development,” “institutions” and “financial and budgetary provisions".

Turkey's EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Volkan Bozkir said during a visit to Paris on Tuesday that his country had embarked on a set of reforms in order to advance the EU accession negotiations.  Hmmm.....Please God keep 'bully' Turkey out of Europe.

Peshmerga crossing 'Sometimes NATO Ally' Turkey being mistreated by 'Islamist' Turkish authorities. (KurdishQuestion).

Peshmerga doctor Izzettin Temo who is in the group crossing over from Turkey into Kobane has said that they are being treated badly by Turkish authorities.

Phoning Rudaw after having travelled to GAP Airport in Urfa last night (28 Nov) peshmerga doctor Izzettin Temo said,
'There are no facilities in the place we are staying. We do not have a bar of soap nor a washbasin to wash our hands. We feel like prisoners. We have no connection with the outside world. However we can do nothing but wait for our guns to reach us. Our journey is being delayed because of this.'
Temo also said that Turkish authorities in Hewler (Erbil) had not allowed the peshmerga to travel in their military uniforms and with their guns.

He added, 'The Turkish soldiers are angry because the people came out onto the streets to greet the peshmerga. They are mistreating and insulting us because of this.'

Temo called on Kurdish authorities to come to their rescue and end the bad treatment.

A statement has not been made by the Peshmerga Ministry yet.

Syrian helicopter drops barrel bombs on displaced persons camp, many dead - residents. (Stardaily).

A Syrian army helicopter dropped two barrel bombs on a displaced persons camp in the northern province of Idlib, camp residents said on Wednesday, and video footage appeared to show charred and dismembered bodies.

Footage posted on YouTube showed corpses of women, children and burning tents while people scrambled to save the wounded. "It’s a massacre of refugees," a voice off camera said.

"Let the whole world see this, they are displaced people. Look at them, they are civilians, displaced civilians. They fled the bombardment," the man's voice said.

A man in another video of the Abedin camp, which houses people who had escaped fighting in neighbouring Hama province, said as many as 75 people had died.

Syrian state media did not mention the bombing. The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which tracks violence in the civil war, said 10 civilians died.

Reuters could not independently confirm the attack. Barrel bombs are crudely-made containers filled with nails, metal shrapnel and explosive which are dropped from helicopters.

Rights groups say they have been dropped by the army on densely populated neighbourhoods in defiance of a U.N. Security Council resolution banning the indiscriminate explosives.
