Syrian President Bashar al-Assad warned Monday that any further Israeli action on Syrian territory would necessitate a “declaration of war.”

The Kuwaiti newspaper Alrai reported that Assad sent a letter to Washington through Moscow to warn that any new Israeli military action would evoke an immediate response. It said Assad expected an answer from U.S. officials within 24 hours.

Sunday, Lebanon’s Al Mayadeen TV - considered close to the regime of President Assad -quoted a Syrian official as saying that the country had stationed missile batteries aimed at Israel in the aftermath of alleged Israeli air strikes on a Damascus military facility.

Earlier in the day Syrian Information Minister Omran Zoabi said that alleged Israeli air strikes against three targets on the outskirts of Damascus “open the door to all possibilities.”

The minister’s comments came after an emergency cabinet meeting organized to respond to what a Western source said was a new strike on Iranian missiles bound for Lebanon’s Hezbollah.

Meanwhile, reports indicated that Israel took steps to assuage President Assad on Monday following the air strikes around Damascus.

The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Achronot reported that Israeli officials informed Assad through diplomatic channels that it did not intend to meddle in Syria’s civil war.Read the full story here.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Tuesday said the Israeli air raids on Syria were "unacceptable."

"No excuse can justify this operation," Erdoğan told ruling party lawmakers in parliament after Israel's weekend strikes on the war-torn country sent regional tensions soaring.

Israeli air raids killed at least 42 soldiers, according to monitoring groups, fuelling international concern over a spillover of the conflict, as Damascus warned it would strike back.

Erdoğan said the Israeli attacks were a "golden opportunity" for his one-time ally President Bashar al-Assad to cover up massacres of opponents.

"Assad is trying to cover up what happened at Banias by using the Israeli raids as a pretext," said the Turkish premier, referring to a crackdown by Assad's troops and militiamen in the Mediterranean city.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at the weekend that the bodies of at least 62 murdered residents had been found in a Sunni neighbourhood of the city.

On Sunday, Erdoğan called the Syrian president a "butcher," in his harshest attack in recent months.

Ankara cut contact with Damascus after its calls for a peaceful resolution of the conflict, which is now in its third year and has killed more than 70,000 people, went unheeded.

  — A major survey among Belgian teenagers indicated anti-Semitism was seven times more prevalent among Muslim youths than in non-Muslim teenagers.

Conducted in recent months by three universities for the Flemish government, the survey was published last month based on questionnaires filled out by 3,867 high school students in Antwerp and Ghent, including 1,068 Muslims.

Among Muslims, 50.9 percent of respondents agreed with the statement “Jews foment war and blame others for it,” compared to only 7.1 percent among non-Muslims. Among Muslims, 24.5 percent said they partially agreed with the statement, as did 20.6 percent of non-Muslims.

The statement “Jews seek to control everything” received a 45.1 approval rating among Muslims, compared to 10.8 approval among non-Muslims. Of Muslims, 27.9 percent said they partially agreed, as did 29.2 percent of non-Muslims.

About 35 percent of Muslims agreed with the statement that “Jews have too much clout in Belgium,” compared to 11.8 percent of non-Muslims who participated in the “Young in Antwerp and Ghent” survey. The results were part of a 360-page report produced for the Flemish government’s Youth Research Platform by the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Ghent University and Vrije Universiteit Brussel.

Last week, the Brussels-based Jewish educational organization CEJI, which promotes tolerance in Europe, requested a meeting with Belgian Education Minister Pascal Smet to discuss the survey and address “the classical anti-Semitic attitudes” which the study revealed, “which we hoped not to see in a democratic Europe after World War II,” CEJI’s director, Robin Sclafani, wrote.

Claude Marinower, Antwerp’s alderman for education, said he found the data “most troubling.” In an interview for the Antwerp-based monthly Joods Actueel, Marinower announced he would launch an action plan to fight anti-Semitism in the Flemish capital’s schools. The Palestinian news agency Ma'an continues to include Antisemitic content on its website. Currently the op-ed section features an article presenting the old Antisemitic forgery The Protocols of the Elders of Zion as a true document delineating the Jews' plan to subjugate the world.

Opinion piece by Walid Shomaly:

"The Protocols of the Elders of Zion are a kind of plan formulated by the Jews to infiltrate the world and take it over. While many Jewish leaders claim that they (the Protocols) are a forgery and one of the greatest political fabrications of the modern era, others confirm that they are true and that they are the most dangerous plot of global domination that history has ever known."

Having described the content of some of the protocols, the writer demonizes all Jews:

"Now, after this quick review of a few of these protocols, one wonders if the Jews belong to some other kind of human species, different from other nations. From where does all this evil and destructive energy derive? Do all the other nations deserve all this evil and hostility, just so that Jews may control them? Do all nations other than Jews really have clouded minds?"

And he wonders about the extent of Jewish world domination already today:

"Have most of the things that appear in the Protocols been implemented in the West and in the East? Did the idea of a Jewish world government begin to be carried out towards the end of the last century? And does the US rule the world today in the name of the new world order for the benefit of the Jews, in accordance with these Protocols? Are we on the brink of the establishment of an evident Jewish world government? Until we have answers to these questions and ponderings - as well as others - we say, 'May Allah help us, we the children of Palestine...'"

When describing how one of the protocols "calls to crush religious authority, especially the papacy," Shomaly condemns Christian Zionists in the US as "Zionists in the guise of Christians":

"We see how approximately eighty million Zionist Christians in the United States itself give Israel their absolute support, claiming [to belong to] Christianity while they in fact have no connection with it, for these people are Zionists in the guise of Christians. According to the writer, the Protocols include among other things the following:

A senior European diplomat told the Arab newspaper al-Hayat on Tuesday that Europe will not boycott a 'Palestinian' government that includes Hamas.
However, the European diplomat said that any kind of proposal necessitates that Palestinians unify their ranks, adding: “there won`t be a peace proposal to one part of the Palestinians without the other”.
He emphasized “the world is moving and Palestinians should form one government in the West Bank and the Gaza strip to be their reference in the next stage”.
Just this week Hamas Prime Minister Haniyeh announced that the forming of a Palestinian unity government is dependant on non recognition of Israel.
According to Al Hayat the EU is also looking forward to play a political role in case the US role fails. Europe`s role will not be limited “only to financing and praying”, the diplomat said.

It is hard to understand how products manufactured in settlements inflict fatal damage on a peace process that has been moribund since 2009, due to the Palestinian refusal to return to negotiations.

Last year saw a 58 percent increase in the number of anti-Semitic incidents there according to a new report published Wednesday by the security unit of the Jewish communities of France.
The report, which called 2012 “a year of unprecedented violence against Jews in France,” noted 614 anti-Semitic incidents last year as compared to 389 such incidents in 2011.
Most of the attacks were verbal, the report said, but there was a significant number of physical assaults as well.
For example, just two weeks ago, a woman was arrested in Toulouse after trying to stab a student at the Ohr HaTorah Jewish day school. The school was the target of a terror attack last year which left four people dead, including a rabbi and three students. It was known at the time as the Otzar HaTorah day school, but has since changed its name.
A recent survey conducted by the World Zionist Organization (WZO) revealed that more than 40 percent of the population in France holds some kind of anti-Semitic belief. The most common was that which said Jews “have too much power in the business world.”
The survey also found that 47 percent of the French population believes “French Jews are more loyal to Israel than the country in which they live.”
Due at least in part to the “rising wave anti-Jewish hatred and violence in Europe, particularly in France,” WZO decided to hold its European Conference on Countering Anti-Semitism this year “near Paris.”

Hezbollah Under Nasrallah’s Rule: 21 Years of Terror.(IDF).21 years ago, Hassan Nasrallah became the leader of Hezbollah. Under his leadership, Hezbollah has committed a stream of terror attacks on both Israeli and international soil and has killed numerous innocent civilians.

Here is our roundup of 21 years of Hezbollah activity under Nasrallah:

Hezbollah (“Party of God” in Arabic) is a terror organization founded in 1982 and based in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah is a proxy of Iran, and is designated as a terror organization by the US and the UK, among others.
Since rising to power in 1992, Hassan Nasrallah has used most of Hezbollah’s resources in order to terrorize Israeli citizens. A mere three weeks after he became the organization’s leader, Nasrallah had already orchestrated a major terror attack against the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, killing 29 civilians.

Two years later, Nasrallah ordered another terror attack in the Argentinian capital – this time against the Jewish Center of Buenos Aires. His operatives killed 85 men and women, and injured more than 300 others. During this period, Hezbollah terrorists, under Nasrallah’s command, fired hundreds of rockets at towns in northern Israel.

In the year 2000, Israel completely withdrew from southern Lebanon. The U.N. Security Council certified that Israel withdrew to the international border, known as the Blue Line. That did not stop Hezbollah from continuing to perpetrate terror attacks against Israel.
But Nasrallah’s true time to shine came only in 2006, when Hezbollah initiated the Second Lebanon War.
On the morning of July 12, 2006, Hezbollah fired multiple barrages of rockets into northern Israel. At the same time, Hezbollah fighters crossed Israel’s northern border and attacked two IDF vehicles on a routine patrol. They killed three IDF soldiers in the initial attack. Two others — Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev — were wounded, captured and taken into Lebanon.

By the end of the fighting, Hezbollah had fired thousands of rockets into northern Israel. A total of 119 IDF soldiers and 43 Israeli civilians were killed during the war.

The war ended with UN resolution 1701, calling for a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah. The resolution required Hezbollah to disarm and withdraw all of its operatives from Israel’s northern border. In reality, none of this happened. Nasrallah’s central mission since 2006 has been to rebuild Hezbollah’s weapons arsenal. Today, Hezbollah has 60,000 rockets, all aimed at Israel’s major cities. This is the largest weapons arsenal of any terror organization in the world today. During his 21 years in power, Nasrallah has focused most of his energy on harming Israeli civilians in the name of “the resistance”.
Today, even after Israel’s complete withdrawal from Lebanon, Nasrallah and his Hezbollah terror organization are an immediate threat to Israeli civilians both in Israel and around the globe.

Abbas Obama's "peace partner" meets in Cairo the man that has constantly called for Israel’s destruction.(INN).Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, who is always touted by the West as a peace partner for Israel, met on Wednesday with the man that has constantly called for Israel’s destruction.
Abbas met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on the sidelines of the Islamic summit held in Cairo, the PA-based WAFA news agency reported.
According to the report, the two discussed the political process, the Palestinian Authority’s financial crisis and the reconciliation efforts between Abbas’s Fatah movement and rival Hamas.
The meeting was attended by PLO Executive Committee Member Saeb Erekat, the PA’s Foreign Affairs Minister Riyad Al-Malki and Abbas’s spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh, WAFA reported.
A report about the meeting on the Iranian website PressTV said that Abbas expressed gratitude for Iran’s support and said Iranians have “always stood beside the Palestinian nation.”
Ahmadinejad described supporting the rights of the “Palestinian people” as the unwavering strategy of the Islamic Republic, the report said.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran completely supports the rights of the Palestinian nation in all international circles,” Ahmadinejad was quoted as having said during the meeting with Abbas.
“Israel is in a position of weakness and if the resistance of nations and Palestinian groups continues, undoubtedly the future outlook of nations will be brighter,” Ahmadinejad added.
The meeting between the two came on the same day that the Iranian president proudly declared that the Iranian people are ready to march on Israel to “wipe it out” if the Jewish state attacks the Islamic Republic.
“The people of Iran are ready to march on Israel to wipe it out if it launches into an adventure against Tehran” and attacks the country, the Iranian president told Egyptian media.
“The Zionists... hope to aggress Iran and attack it, but they are very afraid of the Iranian reaction and of the consequences of such an attack,” he added.
“Our defense forces are capable of dissuading any aggressor and making him regret his act,” Ahmadinejad said.

Assad vowed that his regime will retaliate as his allies rushed to denounce the strike which threatened to take the conflict beyond Syria’s borders.
Syria’s state news agency SANA said Assad made the remarks in a meeting with Saeed Jalili, Iran’s national security council secretary, at a meeting in the Syrian capital. It was Assad’s first reported response to Wednesday’s attack.
Syria’s foreign ministry had said Israel “and the states that protect it” are responsible for the air strike, and “affirms Syria’s right to defend itself and its territory and sovereignty,” state news agency SANA reported.
It called on “all the competent UN bodies to take the necessary steps given this grave Israeli violation, and to guarantee that it will not happen again.”
UN chief Ban Ki-moon expressed “grave concern” and called on all parties to “prevent tensions or their escalation in the region.”
He called on all sides to “strictly abide by international law, in particular in respect of territorial integrity and sovereignty of all countries in the region,” deputy UN spokesman Eduardo del Buey said.
Damascus’s ambassador to Lebanon, Ali Abdel Karim Ali, stressed Syria’s right to respond to “the Zionist aggression.”
“The Israelis, and the United States behind them, along with their Arab and regional accomplices, realize that Syria, which defends its sovereignty and territory, may decide to respond by surprise to this aggression.”
“It is up to the competent powers to choose the appropriate answer, and to determine the means and the place,” Ali added in remarks to Lebanese website Al-Ahad, which is close to the powerful Shiite group Hezbollah.
Reaction from close Damascus ally Iran was strident.
Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian warned, without elaborating, that the “Zionist regime’s attack on the outskirts of Damascus will have grave consequences for Tel Aviv,” the ISNA news agency reported.
In the past, Tehran has said any Israeli attack on Syria would be considered an attack on Iran.
Russia’s foreign ministry said it was “deeply concerned” but was still trying to verify Syria’s allegations.
“If this information is confirmed, then we are dealing with unprovoked strikes against targets located on the territory of a sovereign state, which brazenly infringes on the UN Charter and is unacceptable, no matter the motive used for its justification,” it said.

A senior Iranian commander has condemned Israel’s recent airstrike on a military research center in Syria, saying Syria’s response to the attack will render the Zionist regime comatose.
“Syria’s response to the recent aggression of the Zionist regime (Israel) against this country will send this regime into a coma,” Deputy Chairman of Iranian Armed Forces’ Chief of Staff Brigadier General Masoud Jazayeri said on Saturday.
He added that the Islamic anti-Israeli resistance movement has set its eyes on Syria’s “retaliatory measure” against the Israeli aggression.
The American and Israeli officials have come to fully realize that the self-restraint of the Syrian nation will not be unending, Jazayeri said.
The global arrogance and Israel are on the verge of collapse, the Iranian commander said, noting that the era when the hegemonic powers bullied independent nations has now come to an end.
“In the new era, the criminals should know that behind their every blow lies a massive retaliatory blow, whose time, level and magnitude will be determined by the resolve of the free and anti-hegemonic nations.”
The Syrian Army said in a statement on Wednesday that two people were killed and five others injured in an Israeli airstrike on a scientific center in Jamraya, located 25 kilometers (15 miles) northwest of the capital Damascus.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011. Many people, including large numbers of security forces, have been killed in the turmoil.
