 The Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corp has accused reality TV star Kim Kardashian of working with Instagram to corrupt Iranian youth.

“Ms Kim Kardashian is a popular fashion model so Instagram’s CEO tells her, ‘Make this native,’” Organised Cyberspace Crimes Unit’s spokesperson, Mostafa Alizadeh, said on an Iranian news programme.

“There is no doubt that financial support is involved as well. We are taking this very seriously,” he added.

 He further alleged that Kardashian was working for Instagram as part of a complicated ploy to “target young people and women,” and corrupting them with aspirational photos depicting a lifestyle which is at odds with Islam, Vanity Fair reported while referring to an article by Iran Wire.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), Valiollah Seif, held the former Iranian administration responsible for a recent US court ruling to seize near $2bn of Iran’s frozen assets, saying Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s government was too negligent in making investments in the US.

“Unfortunately, in the previous government, there was negligence in buying bonds and making investments in the US dollar,” Seif said.

Seif noted that “u-turn” transactions with the Islamic Republic were exceptionally permitted in the US dollar sanctions against Iran, but Ahmadinejad’s administration was not careful and cautious enough in making the investments.

The former government’s officials should have considered the issue and exercised enough caution, but in spite of warnings by CBI experts against investments on dollar-based bonds, they (the then officials) made the purchases and set the stage for the Iranian nation’s loss, he added.

“The warnings by those experts came true, and unfortunately, the ban on dollar-based transactions with Iran was once again imposed in 2008, and American banks were banned from having such transactions with Iran,” Seif said.

If the bonds had not been purchased at that time, there would have been no money to be seized by the Americans, he added, as reported by the CBI’s website.

The measures taken by the forerm government led to other hostile moves by the US, including the 13599 Executive Order against the CBI, he noted.

He was referring to an executive order issued in 2012, based on which the US Treasury blocked “all property and interests in property of the Government of Iran, including the Central Bank of Iran, and of all Iranian financial institutions, regardless of whether such persons are located or incorporated inside or outside of Iran”.

Therefore, he concluded, all these unfair and illegal measures by the Americans took place under Ahmadinejad’s tenure, which was a time when the Iranian government considered sanctions to be barely effective, even futile.

If any of these moves had been prevented at that time, the recent US court ruling could not have happened, he noted.

Rouhani’s Gov’t Evading Responsibility by Pinning Blame on Predecessors: Analyst.

Meanwhile, Kezem Anbarlouie, a political analyst, believes that the incumbent government of President Hassan Rouhani is trying to blame Ahmadinejad’s to whitewash its own deficiencies.
in a comment published by Tasnim and translated by IFP, Anbarlouie referred to similar remarks by First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri on the responsibility of the former government for the asset seizure, describing his remarks as “shocking”.

“The First VP said the previous government was not prudent enough, and spent part of the CBI’s resources on purchasing bonds, even if it knew the Americans were not committed to international regulations,” Anbarlouie said.

He further argued that if Americans are not committed to international regulations, Rouhani’s government should also have refused to sign the recent nuclear deal (JCPOA) with them.

“The previous government was in conflict with the US, and everyone in the world knew that; however, the US government did not dare to seize Iran’s money at that time,” he went on to say.

“The 11th government has made an agreement with the Americans and shaken hands with them while they promised to release Iran’s frozen assets, but now, they have not only refused to release them, but they are also stealing and seizing the country’s money once again,” the analyst added.

“To those who say the former government is to blame for the US seizure of Iranian assets, one should say, ‘What were YOU doing? Do not blame the former government for your own imprudence’.”

Iran thinks that the US government responsible for protecting Iran's assets in that country, Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Iranian foreign minister said.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Macedonian counterpart Nikola Poposki on a visit to Iran, Zarif said that Iran does not recognize the recent verdict of a US court on its assets, Iran's state-run IRINN TV reported Apr. 25.

The US Supreme Court last week ruled the transfer of nearly $2 billion of frozen Iranian assets to the American victims of terrorist attacks, including the 1983 truck bombing of a Marine Corps barracks in the Lebanese capital of Beirut. Investigators of the court concluded that Iran was responsible for that attack, which Tehran has denied.

The assets belong to the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), blocked under the US sanctions.

The verdict is against international laws, Zarif said, adding Tehran will spare no effort to prevent the US to gain access to its assets."Iran will pursue the issue via legal channels," he added.

"We have announced that the US government is responsible to protect Iran's assets, and if they fail, Iran will claim compensation in due time," Zarif said.

He further said that the Iranian government has established a special committee to consider the issue.
The committee will investigate the reason of the former government's making investments recklessly in a way that US can block that, the way of Iran's ability to prevent reoccurrence of the similar issues in the future and "encroaching on Iran's assets".

The CBI President Valiollah Seif said Apr. 24 that the former government is the one that is actually responsible for the recent US blockade of Iranian assets.

The former government of Iran paved the way for the court ruling by being ignorant of the facts while buying bonds and making investment in dollar, Seif said.


"If the bonds which had been valued in the dollar hadn't been bought with the indirect brokerage of Americans, there would not have been any money for the US to block," he added. More on this story here.

A number of Iranian high-ranking officials were killed and gone missing as a result of the stampede in Mina valley outside the Saudi city of Mecca, Ali Akbar Velayati, Iranian supreme leader’s top adviser on international affairs said.

Earlier on Sept. 24, a stampede occurred in the Mina valley, where Muslims were performing the Hajj rites.

Velayati said Saudi Arabia should carry out the necessary work on investigating this issue, Iran’s ISNA news agency reported Sept.30.

The names of the killed and missing Iranian officials have not been revealed.

Meanwhile, aside from Iran’s former ambassador to Libya Ghazanfar Roknabadi, the head of institute for IRGC (Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps) strategic studies Ali Asghar Fouladgar is also among the missing, according to the official website of Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization.

Moreover, several employees of the Foreign Ministry, Education Ministry, as well as the Office of the Supreme Leader are also on the list of those missing.

A senior Iranian official says the recent deadly crush in Mina, near the holy Saudi city of Mecca, during the Hajj pilgrimage rituals is “suspicious”, Press TV reported.

“This incident and its circumstances are suspicious because some of our senior officials have been killed or gone missing in this incident,” Ali Akbar Velayati, a top adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, said on Tuesday.

He added that the Saudi government is dodging its responsibility in dealing with the consequences of this incident.

Asked if the disappearance of some Iranian diplomats in the stampede could be part of a plot, Velayati said, “Cooperation between the Saudi regime and the Israel in different arenas is not something that could be covered up.”

He added that Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, should call on Muslim states to investigate the catastrophic Mina incident and work out strategies to guarantee the safety of pilgrims during the Hajj rituals.

“If Saudi Arabia is unable to fulfill its duties with regard to protecting the Hajj pilgrims, Muslim countries should move to carry out their duties in this regard,” Velayati said. Hmmmm........perhaps they decided to say permanently goodbye to the wonderful state of Iran?

According to the police report that prompted Sunday’s detention order, the military personnel had ‘been instructed’ to engage in their operation by a Washington Post op-ed penned by David Ignatius published on Oct. 16, 2013, titled “Turkey blows Israel's cover for Iranian spy ring,” as well as by a tweet by Turkish daily Taraf journalist Emre Uslu and a sermon by Islamic scholar Fetullah Gülen condemning terrorism. These coded instructions allowed for the military personnel to organize and stop the trucks.

The current investigation is being conducted by the İstanbul Police Department's Counterterrorism Unit. Operations were carried out on Sunday in eight provinces including İstanbul, Adana and Hatay to detain the suspects, with 27 officers detained so far. Iranian Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh defended decision of issuing license for imports of Marlboro cigarettes.

He said that the cigarette brand producer is not related to Israel, Iran’s official IRNA news agency reported Nov. 30.

He added that after investigations it was clarified that the issue of ties between Israel and Philip Morris Company is not true.

So the ministry issued the license for legal imports of Marlboro cigarettes to prevent smuggling, Nematzadeh said.

The ministry has issued necessary licenses for importing and producing 12 billion Marlboro cigarettes, according to Iranian media outlets which has triggered objections by Iranian hardliner MPs calling the US firm a "Zionist company."

In mid-November head of the Article 90 Commission of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Ali Pourmokhtar said the parliament has summoned the foreign and industry, mine, and trade ministers over the case of Marlboro cigarettes imports.

“The Foreign Ministry, six months ago, sent us a long list of companies that may have ties with the Zionist regime and the name of the company Philip Morris was included in the list. But surprisingly the Industry, Mine, and Trade Ministry issued license for the company over a month ago, saying they couldn't find any proof about the company's relations with Tel Aviv,” he said.

Marlboro is the largest selling brand of cigarettes in the world. It is made by Philip Morris USA (a branch of Altria) within the US, and by Philip Morris International (now separate from Altria) outside the US.

The United States is behind a plot against the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) and supports the Fethullah Gülen Movement to remove Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan from office, according to a senior member of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

“Why has this issue been brought up on the eve of the [local] elections? It is obvious they want to influence the election results,” Cemil Bayık, a founding member of the PKK, said in an interview published in daily Vatan yesterday when asked about the political crisis that erupted when a graft probe was launched last December.

“On the one side Gülenist lawmakers in the AKP are forced to resign, on the other side the [main opposition Republican People’s Party] CHP is supported to prevent the AKP from getting the result it aims,” Bayık said, adding the real aim of the “plot” was to remove Prime Minister Erdoğan from his post and create an “Erdoğan-less AKP.”

“Who does the operation? The [Gülen] Movement. Who is behind it? The United States,” Bayık said.
The government’s move to shut down the test prep schools caused a huge rift between the AKP and the movement of the Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen, which further swelled after the government accused the movement of orchestrating the graft probes and purged thousands of police officials and prosecutors.

According to the senior PKK member, the AKP was attacked at its “weak spot.”

“The AKP has presented itself as a power that fights corruption, that is why the operation started with that,” Bayık said. “Is there corruption? Yes. Is there bribery? Yes. If there were not, they could not have attacked it. It is true the Cemaat is trying to stage a coup, but this is not the whole truth. The Iranian embassy in New York received a virus-infected letter from Israel which threatened to make more biological attacks in the future.

The Iranian mission at the UN headquarters in New York received a suspicious letter sealed with an Israeli stamp which contained a number of dead insects.“Those who are enemies of Israel will be targeted by virus attacks,” the letter read.

The diplomats at the Iranian mission immediately informed the relevant US officials who dispatched a team of anti-virus experts to the embassy and they transferred the virus-laced letter under special care to prevent any possible infection.

Based on the latest information, no Iranian diplomat has been infected with the suspicious letter.

Israel, an arch foe of the Islamic Republic, is notorious for its terrorist efforts against Iran.

The regime in Tel Aviv has been a main accomplice in the assassination of Iranian scientists, and made strenuous attempts to disrupt Iran's nuclear program by Stuxnet malware.

In June 2012, the Iranian Intelligence Ministry announced that its intelligence forces have identified and arrested all terrorist elements behind the assassination of the country's nuclear scientists.

"A number of countries, whose territories and facilities had been misused by the Mossad-backed terrorist teams, have provided the Iranian officials with relevant information," the ministry said in a statement.

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has praised Iranian businessman Reza Zarrab -- who stands accused of being the ringleader of a shady money-laundering and gold-smuggling ring set up to dodge sanctions against Iran -- for his contribution to the country's economy.

“Zarrab exports gold and I know that he is involved in charity activities as well,” Erdoğan said in a rally at İstanbul Atatürk Airport on Tuesday, after he returned from Pakistan.

Erdoğan said that if there were evidence against Zarrab, then why not catch him in the act and get video footage?

Fifty-two people, including bureaucrats, well-known businesspeople and the sons of three ministers, were detained on Dec. 17 in a corruption investigation that has shaken Turkey's political and business elite and pushed three ministers to resign on Wednesday. 

Zarrab is alleged to have bribed three ministers and their sons a total of TL 137 million ($66 million) to help him disguise money laundering operations. Halkbank and its general manager, Süleyman Aslan, also under arrest, were involved in Turkey's gold trade with Iran.

“Is there any evidence that proves the relationship between what has been found in the [Halkbank general] manager's house and the bank? I have no doubt that he [Aslan] is innocent.”

Erdoğan went on to deny the allegations of corruption and called the investigation an attack on the government, society and the “national will.”

When asked if the probe was a bid to tarnish his reputation, the prime minister said anyone attempting such a thing would fail.Hmmmm.....'Sanctions that benefit'....Anyone?

On the day three of his ministers resigned due to an ongoing corruption and graft probe, the prime minister declared “fight for independence” against what he calls “traitors and spies,” who plotted against the government, a growing Turkey, hand-in-hand with international powers.

“Don’t forget; this process is the new Turkey’s fight for independence. This is that important. The plans of those against Turkey will be ruined in this process,” Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in his address at a party meeting yesterday. Erdoğan’s statement came only an hour after one of the resigned ministers, Erdoğan Bayraktar, called for the prime minister to resign as well.

Erdoğan called on his party to stand firm against allegations and to work hard for the local elections, which he sees of vital importance for his party’s future. “I openly say: If you work, Turkey will win. If you show neglect, then the entire Turkey will lose, national will will lose and our future will lose,” he stressed. 

Although his ministers resigned for the well-being of the probe and to relax the government against growing pressures, Erdoğan seemed to be defiant and continued to describe the scandal as a plot conducted by international powers in alliance with some national actors. Although indirectly, the prime minister continued to harshly bash the Fethullah Gülen community (the Hizmet movement) and accused some media organizations of spying for foreign countries. 

Erdoğan said the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government never tolerated corruption and had dismissed wrongdoers in the past.

“During the last 11 years, there have been many accusations and attempts at slander. We have removed the wrongdoers and we have patiently waited for those who had allegations against them to be cleared,” Erdoğan said.

“The smallest taint in our record will draw attention. And when it does, we will do what’s necessary,” he said, although he did not comment on the resignations of his ministers.

Repeating his earlier arguments on the role of international powers in this “corruption plot,” Erdoğan likened the ongoing process with that of the Gezi Park protests of June, which came as a result of the historic success of the Turkish economy in May. Citing nine causes of international plotters to step in to stop Turkey’s growth, Erdoğan said the traitors’ efforts failed that time.

“We should carefully elaborate all of these things. Because, I repeat it, this is not a national operation. It has an international dimension. On top of it, there is the international dimension and below are its contractors. This is not a simple issue,” he said.

‘Peace process targeted’

For Erdoğan, one of the objectives of the current plot against the government is to nix the ongoing Kurdish resolution process. “On Dec. 17, a suicide was committed against our peace (process) in Diyarbakır. They have covered it with a veil of corruption to influence public opinion. Preoccupying the people’s attention with these corruption claims, they have set up traps to take the revenge of Diyarbakır, the Mavi Marmara, Oslo, Feb. 7 and Halkbank,” he said. 

Diyarbakır was the venue of his historic meeting with Massoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG); Oslo is the place where the AKP government and Kurdish militants have negotiated an agreement for peace, Feb. 7 (2012) was the date the pro-Gülen community prosecutors wanted to arrest Hakan Fidan, the head of National Intelligence Organization and Mavi Marmara is the vessel on which nine Turkish citizens were killed by Israeli commandos, which caused a huge crisis between Turkey and Israel in 2010. All of these issues constitute major points of disagreement between the government and the pro-Gülen community.

Vowing to further fight against what he calls “gangs within the state,” Erdoğan accused some media members of spying for foreign countries without giving any names.Hmmm......Time for the US gov to act on these blatant breaches of the Iran sanctions!

Israel is attempting to sabotage the negotiations between Iran and the Western powers over Tehran’s nuclear program by spreading disinformation about their contents, the Islamic Republic’s deputy foreign minister charged on Monday.

In an interview with state-owned Arab-language news channel Al Alam, Abbas Araqchi repeated his government’s position that his country’s right to enrich uranium on its own soil is not negotiable. Araqchi reiterated that Iran would not stop refining uranium, saying domestic enrichment was a right of the Iranian people - but that the extent of enrichment was negotiable.

“The entity that is occupying Jerusalem has spared no efforts in attempting to derail and place obstacles before the negotiations,” the deputy foreign minister told Al Alam. “What has been reported [about the talks] is not accurate, and it falls under the realm of speculation. The source of this innuendo is the Zionists, who are among those who oppose a solution, and they are not interested in seeing these negotiations come to a positive outcome.”

“The secrecy of these negotiations between Tehran and the six powers demonstrates the seriousness of both sides,” Araqchi said.

The deputy foreign minister called on the United States, one of the six powers engaged in the negotiations, to refrain from handing over information about the talks to Israel.

Israel long ago proposed to international actors, including Russia, the confiscation of Syria’s chemical weapons arsenal, an Israeli official has said.

“But our offer was not accepted at that time,” said the official, who asked to remain anonymous.

The same official also said that the offer came when many intelligence agencies were predicting that Syrian President Bashar al–Assad would be toppled within a matter of days, but Israeli Foreign Ministry’s assessment was to the contrary. “The Israeli Foreign Ministry said it saw no signs as to why it would have been so,” he said.

The same official also said Israel was not against political Islam and that the Israeli government had no role to play in the regime changes in Egypt.

The Turkish Prime Minister recently accused Israel of being behind the military coup in Egypt.

Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan was quoted as saying on Monday that the choice of Tokyo instead of Istanbul to host the 2020 Olympic Games was unfair.

Erdogan said the choice made by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) meant the bloc was turning its back on the Muslim world.

“Both Tokyo and Madrid have hosted the games before; Istanbul hasn’t. It hasn’t been fair,” Erdogan was quoted as saying in Turkish media, according to Reuters news agency.

“In a way, they are cutting ties with the 1.5-billion-people Muslim world.”

Tokyo beat Istanbul by 60 votes to 36 in a head-to-head vote by IOC members in Buenos Aires on Saturday, giving the Japanese capital the Games for the second time. Madrid had been eliminated in a first round of voting.

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior advisor to the Iranian President rejected western media reports alleging that President Rouhani has tweeted a felicitation message to the world Jews on Rosh Hashanah, the new Jewish year, underlining that the Iranian president has no official tweeter account.

“President Hassan Rouhani has no tweeter account,” Presidential Advisor Mohammad Reza Sadeq told FNA on Thursday.

The western media claimed late Wednesday that the Iranian president has tweeted a felicitation message to the worldwide Jewish community to congratulate them on the advent of the new Jewish year.

“As the sun is about to set here in Tehran, I wish all Jews, especially Iranian Jews, a blessed Rosh Hashanah,” the western and Israeli media quoted Rouhani as saying in his tweet. The message was posted with a picture of a man in a yarmulke bowing his head in prayer.

In response, Sadeq explained that “proponents and fans of Mr. Rouhani were active in the cyberspace during the recent presidential election in Iran and used many web pages with titles similar or close to Mr. Rouhani (‘s name) to run their activities”.

“Of course, such activities are fully normal during election campaigns, and some of them might continue their operation even after the election,” the advisor continued.

“Yet,” he emphasized, “any official news on him (the president) is released by the presidential office.”

He reiterated that since Rouhani won the presidential election in Iran in June, all reliable news and information pertaining to the president have been only released by his office, “and only the news released through this conduit is official”.

"Innocence of Muslims", previously called Desert Warriors and Innocence of Bin Laden, is a 2012 anti-Muslim movie which insults Muslims' Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

The film has been financed by more than 100 Jews and produced by an American-Israeli man in the US.
